I'm never in the ASU area so even though I had just picked up lunch, this place called to me. I was sold by the typeface and exterior but I really should have trusted the Yelp reviews. Never in my life have I been so disappointed by Hawaiian BBQ. I shared a plate with Honolulu Chicken and Kalua Pork. We bought an extra scoop of macaroni salad on the side along with a macadamia nut chicken. I was so surprised by how small the portions were. Even with rice underneath the entrees, it was still pretty meagar. The meats themselves were ovely salty. The macaroni salad was also insanely salty. I appreciated the black pepper in it but where were the vegetables? As for the cookie, it was a standard cookie. Nothing you have to get but still a decent sweet treat. Order at the one out of two self-service, wait for them tho call your name, and pick up your food at the pick-up window. There was one guy by the front that will assist you if you need help. One and don't. Not for me.

It's a no go for me. For the price point, portion size was super small. The chicken had good flavor but was severely over cooked and dry. Not to mention, the green onions were missing. The macaroni salad was swimming in grease and hot. I won't be back but was glad I gave it a try.

So much oil all over the box and in it

Usually so good, but last two orders were not good. Covered in oil and wrong items, one item completely missing all together.

Located inside of "Tempe Food Court", a ghost kitchen "food court", we ordered 3 places. This was one of them. The food wasn't bad, actually. The Honolulu Chicken was decently seasoned, and the chicken was high-quality. The "Luau Pig" (pork) was on the fattier side. I agree with previous reviews that describe the mac salad as "runny". Not sure I've ever experienced that before.

I had a great delivery of Hawaiian bros! I got the mixed plate with huli huli chicken and seasoned vegetables. It was the only thing that sounded FIRE after gardening

Musubi

Does this look like musubi? Whatever you call it??? I open the bag and it smelled burnt. The Mac salad was not good. Overcooked pasta and peppery. I was hoping this place would be better than the franchises but nope. =[[[ work on the Mac salad... and of yall don't have seaweed cancel the order. What is this????

There is plenty of bar space if you're popping in for a drink.. of course, the actual bar that runs along the shelves of liquor, and there is also a bar on the other side of a roll-up door, perfect for people who come with dogs. There's also a bar space that runs along the window that separates the small dining room and the patio. There are a few tables inside as well as some bigger tables on the patio. The patio is nice with lots of shrubs right outside the rail. The murals on the wall are pretty darn cool - - they're like enlarged historic photos of the area. I love them! And I'm not sure who's giant face is hanging on the ceiling but it's short a spark conversation. The menu here has a little something for everyone. There's the regular loaded fries and wings, salads, and a nice election burgers. We ordered the Philly Salad and the Very Summer Salad with a side order of fries. They make their own ranch, and it is good. I will say they don't seem to skim on salad ingredients either - - the Philly salad was covered with shaved beef, and my berry salad had a lot of chicken and tons of blue cheese. The fries were delicious - - slightly seasoned and crispy. This place is clearly dog friendly. In fact the day we went there was a sweet Pitbull named Daisy who literally hopped up on a bar stool and sat there like a little angel the entire time. The bar had a dog full of water that they sat down on the counter next to her owner's beer. They also have dog biscuits to give. It made my day to see that sweet little dog hanging at the bar having a treat. This really is kind of a spot that feels like it's probably the hangout spot of many people. Great bar food and a good selection of beers. What's not to love?

Afterwards, he mentioned that he tasted it and agreed about our comments- I appreciate that level of attention. Shortly after, the food arrived. Spicy pork tacos for me, and BLTA for my wife. The tacos looked a little overdressed. I was so wrong. Flavor and texture were balanced perfectly. The tortillas were firm, but again, perfectly suited to the juicy pork, that had a teriyaki vibe. Sprouts, carrot and cucumber toppings worked well, despite my expectations. The BLTA was HUGE. Great flavor. Both entrees were ordered with sweet potato fries. Unusual cut to them, but seasoned perfectly. I paired mine with chipotle aioli and ate every last one. My only complaint is that I'm only spending one evening in the Phoenix area, and won't be back soon. I would eat this food three times a week without hesitation.

Since we were planning the event from out of town, having a team we could trust was incredibly important -- and Bailey and the entire staff handled everything flawlessly. Even the decorations were set up beautifully and exactly as we had hoped. The food was excellent, the staff was friendly and attentive, and everything ran smoothly from start to finish. A special thank you to Bailey, the Event Coordinator, who was wonderful to work with throughout the entire process. She was organized, responsive, and made everything feel easy and stress-free leading up to the event and the night of the dinner. The highlight was definitely the Rafter Room -- it was even more impressive in person than in the pictures. The space had a great atmosphere for a rehearsal dinner and made the evening feel really special for our family and guests. Highly recommend The Social Hall for anyone looking to host a private event in Tempe.

My first visit to Social Hall a few weeks ago was outstanding…read more I visited with my sister, daughter, and 6-year-old grandson on a Sunday afternoon shortly after opening. The restaurant is much larger than I expected and beautifully designed. We were greeted immediately, seated quickly, and had a wonderful server who walked us through the menu and offered recommendations. The food was excellent. I ordered the brisket nachos from the small plates menu and was shocked by the portion size. They arrived hot and loaded with toppings, including a generous helping of tender, well-seasoned brisket. My daughter's Brussels sprouts were crispy, flavorful, and topped with bacon. My sister loved her cheeseburger and truffle fries, and my grandson couldn't stop saying, "This some good food, Ma!" with every bite of his mac and cheese. What really sealed the experience was when the manager stopped by our table. She was warm, welcoming, shared some history about the restaurant, and made us feel genuinely appreciated as first-time guests. We left already talking about when we'd come back. Because of that experience, I brought additional family members and a friend back last night. Unfortunately, the second visit was very different. Our waitress was wonderful and provided excellent service, but the food lacked the quality and flavor we experienced the first time. I ordered the same brisket nachos and Brussels sprouts, but the portions and seasoning were noticeably different. The Brussels sprouts weren't as crispy or flavorful, and the nachos had very little brisket. When I mentioned it, our waitress graciously brought out more brisket, which I appreciated, but the dish still wasn't the same. Others in our group were disappointed as well. The wings lacked flavor, a burger was overcooked, and my son--who is a chef and was excited to try--didn't particularly enjoy his meal. The contrast between our two visits was surprising. Our first experience was easily 5 stars, while our second left us questioning whether we'd return. That said, because our first visit was so impressive, I'm willing to believe this may have simply been an off night. Social Hall clearly has the potential to deliver an excellent dining experience. I'm hopeful our second visit was the exception rather than the rule, and I would consider giving them another chance in the future.

We were checked on frequently but never in a pushy way and never felt rushed. We happened to be there during happy hour and enjoyed a few beers. They have a pretty extensive selection and my friend was happy a rotating tap was a Dunkel. We split the French Dip and the Rosemary steak. Both were good but not my ideal pasty, so I'll have to try more. I felt the Dip needed more salt (which I could have asked for, but didn't) but I loved the red wine gravy it came with. I could eat that on almost anything! The rosemary steak was a tad too rosemary for me and the mustard cream sauce was...well mustard cream. It wasn't bad, but I'm definitely more of a gravy person.
