Probably the best surf shop I've ever been too. I'm always greeted with a smile. With so many competition out there, this is the one surf shop makes everyone feel like ohana. Located on the not so nice part of Pearlridge, they're the only surf shop on that side. They always have deals going on also. You can find some sicks stuff for more than half off at times. If you can't find something you're looking for, the staff will happily help you locate it wether it be at one of their other locations or recommend a different store. But with their selection, you wouldn't have to look elsewhere. The manager there, Jay, is really helpful and will go out of his way to make sure you get what you're looking for. I was looking for slippers for my size 12 feet son. Their selection was good. Was pretty I left to myself to look while the two sales clerks stayed behind the counter and chit chatted. (Which didn't bother me since I preferred comparing slippers on my own.) Bought a pair on sale so hope he likes them since there's no return on sale items. Store has a lot of different merchandise. If I had more time I would have browsed more. Will return when I have more time. read more

Hawaiian Island Creations does seem to tailor to many first of all the incredible selection of Hydro Flask is insane unless you're very specific they have a great choices for you to choose from including fun beach wear that's super colorful and comfortable and to complete your ensemble creat your own slippahs mix and match colors the fun here is endless. They also have a great "Maui Strong" shirt which 100% of the proceeds will go to Maui and that's something awesome for sure as every single thought helps and they can use it for sure! Took me straight to the shirts I was looking for, had a shirt on hold for me that was ci by their Kapolei store, I picked out a couple stickers and I was out the door. Not what I remember, but more. It seems like this place has gone commercial. The location moved, so that's the first thing I noticed. It's now in Uptown instead of Downtown which both have different names. You can still find local design on their logo wear, but there are so many new brands included in the store. The service is mediocre. The prices are a bit steep but we were able to find some deals in their clearance. We have already returned here to check what else was on sale, so we would return but only for the sales or deals. read more

Came in looking for Hydroflask accessories but was met with a limited supply as compared to HIC's counterparts T&C Surfshop. They are reasonably priced but referred me to the Hydroflash website for more options. They had a bigger Yeti selection in my opinion. Located in Downtown Pearlridge near the escalators. Neighbors are Hot Topic and Cookie Corner. Place is great for all ocean-related brands: Roxy, Quicksilver, Billabong, etc. Tons of super fashionable pieces and accessories available. Had a wide array of surfboards and boogeyboards along their back wall as well. Like the clothing size range - XXS to 5X for men and women. Current sale was buy one, get one 50% off for men's clothing. read more

Went here for the Memorial Day sale and although I didn't get anything on sale, my boyfriend got a few deals. This store is conveniently located in Pearl ridge downtown near the photo studio we went to so it was a nice break to shop here while the photos were being edited. I don't really have good expectations of customer service at surf shops from my experiences at ala moana, but everyone at this store was really friendly and attentive! Kudos to them ! read more

In comparison to the one at Ala Moana this location is smaller and has less merchandise. Since the counter is at the middle of the store, they can basically overlook the entire shop. Across from the counter are some items that they have for sale. Other sale items were difficult to find, at back of the store or they don't promote them too much. Looked throughout the store, there wasn't much and even when I did find something it really cost a lot (to me at least) and I wanted to get the most out of the gift cards I had. The workers were talking story as I came into the store. They did ask if I needed assistance every now and then. I already had a general idea of what I wanted to purchase. Earphones / headphones -- the ones that they had on stock wasn't something I would use. Mostly Skullcandy. Trucker hat -- this location didn't have the one I looked at in the Ala Moana location. I searched the store for it, couldn't find it. I eventually settled with a black snap back that had "Hawaii", HIC logo, the islands and Hawaiian flag on it. Simple. ($30) There were a lot of hats to pick from actually. It overwhelmed me a bit as I looked through them all since there were different designs, styles and colors to choose from. Bags -- Of course I would get another one! Debated between bags and slippers but figured a bag would last longer and the footwear they provided didn't appeal to me. I chose a Hurley hobo bag, this was also simple and I'm currently using. ($54) I considered getting a new backpack to haul my laptop to and from school but hey I've only got a semester left and I wanted something that looked cute. Downside though, I'm afraid to carry too much books in this bag because it could break. I don't think the straps would last a long time if it held a lot of weight. Shirts -- Ended up getting my brother a shirt that was on sale, ha-ha. Some of the designs... MEH. Found it on a sales rack somewhere. ($11) The worker that helped me while I was in the girly bag section. Brought down the bag I was looking at and after I was satisfied with the one I've chosen, she held it at the counter as I continued to look around. In total I spent $100.51 (that's including tax). The gift cards were $50 each so yeah, in the end only paid $.51. If the $100 wasn't in gift cards, I wouldn't be shopping here and I would think I could get more for that amount at another store. Not much people come into this store. read more

HIC was known for their mixed match rubber slippers back in the days. I remember owning a pair and so did the rest of the cool people. Good old days... They still have them behind their counter but not a big selection of colors. Today I went in to get a pair of Quicksilver slippers. They had a pretty good selection of slippers. It runs from $20 to $30. But you get what you paid for. If you want cheap slippers, this is not the place. Customer service was okay. read more

Every time I went in their, I would normally get greeted by a staff but on Thursday early evening there were about 4 staffs and about 4 people walked in and not one of them even looked at us let alone acknowledged us. Walked around the store no one even attempted to check on us not even a word cam out their mouths until we left the store. Acknowledging customers can make a big deal no matter what that's all I have to say. read more

Awesome. The other week I bought Quicksilver board shorts, took them home and put em in the side. A week later I tried them on and noticed they were the wrong size. Receipt already trashed a week ago, I took a chance and went back to try to get the right size. Joseph gave me a hand and told me not having the receipt was no problem! Of all my times shopping here, I'm thankful for the wide selection of brands in this store--ranging from Volcom, Quilsilver, Billabong, Brixton, RVCA; you name it, it's here, new and quality. I especially enjoy that it's never crowded here. You basically have the entire store to yourself. And I've noticed, the staff is quiet, but if you go up to them with a question, they're very helpful and nice. For instance, I asked this girl for styling advice and she gave me some pretty good tips! She even convinced me to participate in the promotion. Awesome! Jason is the store manager. He was SO helpful! This was my 2nd HIC store that I hit today. They didn't have my size/color combination. The other store couldn't find what we were looking for. Jason not only located my slippah combo, but my husband's as well. He is representing the "Aloha" spirit through his fantastic customer service and product knowledge. Was promptly greeted by several employees upon entering the Store, and at least two employees followed up with me while I was shopping. I got assistance from one of the employees when I was trying to find the correct size in swim fins for bodyboarding. The Store was clean, well-stocked and organized. read more

It's smaller than the other HIC on the island but one of the best. Really good customer service. The workers are young and seem happy to be working. Definitely would consider going to this place for shirts and board shorts. read more

Always have to give credit where credit is due. While visiting from California, this is one of our many stops. The crew here was super attentive from getting us t shirts, helping out my son in the dressing room to directing us to hats and backpacks. They all worked as a team while putting no pressure on us. Yes, I was face timing family back home, 3 times to be exact to see what t shirts they wanted me to purchase for them while the sales lady waited patiently.
