Great location! Easy access. Not crowded. Cashiers are friendly. A huge selection of clothes, shoes, make-up, jewelry, perfume, glasses, and house goods for all. I like that they keep the store clean and always have a section in the home goods for sale items. They increased the limits to earn points but it's all good. I still really really like this Macy's. Honestly not my go to place when I'm in town but out here in Kapolei it humbles you when you're looking for something and though this location is much smaller than the other location it still has something for everyone and basically every room for the home. Usually looking for some clothing and do often find something potential the limited inventory does play in the role of finding that right thing which instead finding something that I wasn't originally looking for lol! First time at this Macy's location out at the Ka Makana Ali'i mall in Kapolei. It was just being built around the time I left and now it's in full swing! It's a great alternative for those living on the west side if the island. No more having to drive on that eastbound H-1 to get to Pearlridge or Ala Moana! Very easy to park, as there is a nice big parking lot outside. This store seemed to be kept up very well. Employees were friendly and didn't try to push the credit card on me like most stores do. Prices are about the norm and they have a massive clearance section. The fitting rooms are open and they are clean! I hate going into one to find crap on the ground or clothes from a previous shopper hanging inside. These people have got it together!! Once you've done your shopping, walk over to nearby restaurants for a bite to eat. I will be back to this store for sure next time I'm visiting. I liked that it wasn't packed with shoppers, too! Took my wife to the Shisiado counter in Macy's. When I first walked in, I was greeted with a friendly hello. My wife said that she needed her transporter. Upon reentering the store, I was greeted again by another worker. While I was pushing my wife, another worker asked us if we needed assistance. My wife told her that she was looking for Shisiedo makeup. She smiled and said, following me. Very friendly and helpful. My wife made the purchase and was given some samples. We left the cosmetic area to look for a handbag. I took a star away because the person who came to help us at the handbag area wasn't very helpful. We asked to see a handbag, but it was locked to the handger.She asked if we wanted to buy it. My wife said she wanted to check in out. Seems that worker was reluctant to get the key unless my wife said yes. Well, she did get the key, and my wife got to examine the bag. There were imperfections on the bag, so my wife asked if there was another one available. She started telling my wife that there was nothing wrong. Headed down to the Westside today to Ka Makana Alii . Checked out Macy's my sister said today was the last day sale on Martha Stewart bath towels. If you haven't try these towel yet it is the bomb. It dries you off quickly once out of the shower plus it dries fast hanging on the bathroom rack so you can use it again the next day . Located at Ka Makana Alii, my appointment got out early so I had time to shop before the pau Hana traffic began. I had a gift card, a Thanks for Sharing reward and a credit to use at Macy's. Good time as any to use one or two of them. This store is set up differently from Ala Moana and Pearlridge. I asked one of the associates where the department was for my size. She told me it was down there pointing out with a double jerk of her index finger into the distance naming Style and another brand. Actually a few steps further from where I asked her I found 2 items in the Active Wear and a couple more as I just looked out for my size on each rack I passed. When checking out, the cashier asked me if she could put me on her customer list. Hmmm...I guess...in the past I only got asked that at makeup counters. I need to come back here in 6 weeks so maybe I can get more familiar with the store set up and use my gift card and remaining credit. 3/6/2022:My husby and I didn't plan to buy any bedding goods but when I saw this print on their bed display I fell in love. Besides it was time for a new bed set anyway. LOL. SO many good sales which was a plus. But what made us purchase something was the customer service by 2 female associates. Their names were Maria and Maria. So friendly and knowledgeable of the products. We didn't feel we were forced to buy anything or rushed ! Thank you !! I honestly see why this location isn't busy. I was comparing prices to the Macy's at Pearlridge and the prices here were different even down to the Godiva chocolates. I ended up finding more stuff here though for some reason. I only bought rings that were on sale. A five pack ring set for $10 which is $2 each ring. It was Guess brand. Not bad. My daughter found a couple of things. She loved the toy section so she grabbed one item since she does well in school. The store is one level all around which is pretty big. There were dressing rooms available if you need to try on clothes. Restrooms were nearby as well. The cashier I talked to seemed condescending as she told me in a harsh voice that clothing that's on final sale cannot be returned. I told her it's fine. She had attitude in her voice but whatever. I think I will continue going to the Pearlridge location or somewhere else where the cashiers are a little more friendly. I had to knock off a star for that. read more

Sorry, this is probably the worst location on island. Their selection is soooo minimal and the customer service leaves something to be desired. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't anything overtly mean/rude. But when I asked the associate for assistance in seeing if they had my size in a couple shirts, she simply noted there was one on the floor and that's it. Whereas, when I went to Ala Moana and Pearlridge the same weekend, the associates helped me look on the floor and also ordered the shirt so it would be delivered to my house. Later, I went to another associate to pay my Star Rewards balance, and it seemed like she was allergic to smiling. I had some Macy's Star Money that was going to expire, so I drove down to the mall to sees if I'd find something to spend it on. With my luck, I found 3 pairs of shoes on the Last Act rack. The salesperson Rose helped me to retrieve the other side of the pairs of shoes. I had asked her if I could continue shopping while she look for the other side. She said, "yes" and she'll have them waiting at the register. I was looking around in the store till the line at the register went down. I am thrilled to have a Macy's on the "West side" of the island! No more driving to Pearl Ridge or even the dreaded Ala Moana Shopping Center to buy or return things! If you are thinking, "what is this reviewer talking about? Oahu is an island for goodness sakes!" You are right. It is an island, with 48,000 cars on the freeway and congestion that starts at 3:00 PM on H1. Forget that! As usual with Macy's everywhere, empty registers are scattered about on the floors with no one manning them. The best way to see where to steer yourself for purchases or returns are registers with actual human beings standing in line, piling up around the one lone register that seems to be open, and usually two clerks hovering around a register but only one doing the actual cash-registering, or ringing up stuff. I have a question - why do all these large chain stores have like, 14 registers and only 3 open at any given time? Same holds true for Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Target, Costco, Sam's Club, CVS and Macy's, only Macy's isn't obvious because their registers are tucked away between different departments, like Women's sport wear, lace panties, chocolates and $10,000 bed mattresses. Returns are always easy at Macy's, as long as you have the bar-coded sticker and a receipt would be nice too. I was promptly refunded for a dress I bought the night before, thinking I looked hot in it, only to be told it made my bosoms look huge (was that a bad thing?!) What I liked about this Macy's was the machine kiosks that let you scan your gift card so you know how much of a balance you have on your card, kind of like those Wal-Mart and Target price checkers...nifty! read more

I came here looking for flats. This is usually not my preferred location to come to because as other reviews have stated, the customer service here can be lacking. This review is for the sales associate Brandon. I have shopped in the shoe section here before and there was a short girl that had the worst attitude I have ever seen and she was rude about everything. Haven't seen her in a while- thank goodness! However, I was helped by Brandon after walking around a little bit. There were two women with him and they were standing around and talking and would occasionally look at me if i passed by. Mind you I was the only one looking at shoes at first until another woman came by with her husband. Back in the day at Macy's I remember that sales associates would come up to you and ask you if you need help and what size you wanted to try on. Nowadays that is out of practice I think. Either way, I am glad that Brandon approached me instead of waiting for me to go up to him. Although I wouldn't have minded if I had to approach him first. I've been helped by him twice so far and he has been the sweetest associate I've ever met at this location. read more

Macy's at Ka Makana Ali'i isn't your largest Macy's on the island, but they do have all your Macy favorites. If I'm looking for something special I will usually start here and if they don't have what I'm looking for I'll ask the cashier to check which Macy's on the island might carry it. This is a great option because you don't have to waste your time going to the different Macy's. The one thing I do find hard to maneuver is the security monitors they attach to many of their garments. It usually discourages me from trying them on. I don't even know if they remove the security tags before you try them on or if you have to try the clothes on with the security tag on. It's not your normal white security tags... these are long wiry tags that go through the garment. I guess they have lots of theft at this location. Which is sad because Macy's is such a nice store and to have items such as these it takes away from the beauty. I have never seen these security tags at any other Macy's which tells me that it's a West side problem read more

We visited Macy's on 9-3-16, the third day of their soft-opening. We drove in about 4:15p and got a parking space in the front of the store entrance. As we entered the store, we walked past the linens and I was excited to see that they had sales on many different items. I also could smell the newness of the store. I searched for the women's department and found it towards the back of the store. I noticed there is another entrance on this side of the store. I tried on some clothes and eventually bought an outfit that I got on sale and used my coupons. I also applied for their, Thanks for Sharing, program that I always do every year. They had a promotional strategy at Lancôme and I got my free travel size foundation and a sample of the light textured moisturizer. I also visited their restroom. They have one near the front where I entered the store, near the kitchen ware. In my opinion, they could have made more stalls. When the holidays come around, I foresee long lines. I believe they have another restroom area by the women's clothes. All in all, I enjoyed shopping at the newest Macy's in Kapolei. I can't wait to visit Macy's once more. I will let my friends know that it is open. Then I'll go once again to their Grand Opening or sooner. read more

My favorite Macy's store is Kahala & Windward Mall, I like smaller Macy's stores, for some unknown reason I have a fear of bigger stores. This fairly new Macy's location is small, smaller than the other 2 location. I've been here a total of 7 times and out of the 7 times I only found items during one visit. I always get lost when I shop here, I need to get use to what entrance I entered from. Macy's is located at Ka Makana Ali'i at the other end of the mall, one good thing about this Macy's, extra parking! When I shop here, I can't find my way around and have to go around in circle looking for the juniors, infants, or men's and young men's department. I have to shop here more often to get myself used to this Macy's. My opinion, this Macy's seem smaller than the other locations. I shopped at Macy's during the holidays, December 2017, I was happy to find a few items during this visit. When I went to pay for my items, I changed my mind on an infant outfit. I asked the cashier to void the item. The week after, I noticed my receipt had the item that was voided. I called Macy's and spoke to mananger, Rowena. I explained the situation and was worried that it was too late, since this happened a week ago. She was very nice and handled everything over the phone. She said I don't have to make a special trip out to Macy's Kapolei. I gave her my receipt info. She checked with security to check the cameras and saw that the cashier did put the item back. She credited my Macy's credit account. She called me back right away after checking the cameras with security. This is awesome customer service. I didn't get a chance to meet her in person to thank her, hopefully during my next visit to Macy's. Yay for those video cameras! All in all, I am glad for another Macy's location, on the west side, which is convenient for me, I don't have to drive to another mall for Macys. Love this location because the parking lot isn't always jamm packed during the weekdays. Only thing I dislike, is that apparently...u can't pay for perfume in a bedding dept or a clothing in a perfume dept. etc... Ohhhh and with the way that I shop, I NEED A SHOPPING CART. Pretty annoyed that I needed to drop alllll the bulky or heavy items to a register. Then go back to another dept then, back to that register and so forth. We visited Macys Kapolei at 8pm tonight. My husband had asked an employee how much one of the Gshock watches cost. She had to wait for another worker for a key. We waited for 30 minutes and nobody came by to help us. I was ready to purchase the watch at whatever price it was. I watched workers talking story to each other and not even checking on us. As unstable as Macy's may be with the closing of stores around the nation, here on the island of Oahu, we're talking about a whole different market. In general, stores here do well, often with multiple locations even with a small population of 900,000 plus. THE STORE: It's located in the brand new Ka Makana Alii mall in Kapolei. I love single level department stores because things are easier to find. Here, they've done a great job with the layout. Its neatly divided into 5 areas - a section along each of its square shape, with a main section in the middle. I expected more modern design and decor inside, but that was not the case as it's very plain and bright. All the usual offerings can be had - men's, women and children clothing, shoes, luggage, as well as house wares, conveniently in a single building. None of that "two separate buildings" nonsense from taking over former JC Penney spaces which is so annoying. OVERALL: Squeaky clean, nice inventory, perfect square footage. read more

This is actually my favorite Macy's on the island. Initially, I was surprised at how small it looked from the outside--especially since the other Macy's are all multiple floors. I was surprised to find that I really like the one floor layout, and it's actually a lot more spacious than it appears from the outside. Since everything is on one floor, it makes shopping each department so simple. Also, their cosmetics section is even nicer than the Pearlridge location by far! This is for the customer service at their women's shoe department. Well .. the service should have been outstanding but it's really is "so so", mediocre. There were two ladies working with the rate of about 10 ppl in that department. One of the short looking girl did not even acknowledge me right-of-the bat. she seemed tired!! Even when I went to the clearance area I know she saw me but no hi or hey!! You as a customer should be acknowledged even if you don't buy anything. This was about t12:00 pm when I came in looking for a high heeled shoe. I saw shoes from the Calvin Klein area and I had notice one of the girl (taller) and made eye contact for her to help and she did. this one never said hi either but proceeded later to tell me oh we don't have this on your size ( she said their is one in Waikiki but never offered to call for me). I ended buying a shoe for $80 .. and she rang it and that was that!!! I could have a better experience at this department but these girls could have a better training in servicing their customers. I mean one look at the first girls ' face Should have given a hint to leave. After all I could have bought one more shoe for another $100 but I didn't feel I need to spend anymore time in this place. This is the smallest store on Oahu I think, so selection can be limited. We tried to look at rings but the salesperson was not very friendly so we went to Zales and spent $700 there instead. Now that Sephora is in the same mall, I don't see why I'd buy makeup at Macy's. But sometimes you can find good deals on clothes. My faithful FitBit watch has seen it's better days....tracking my steps for 2020 a whopping 1,645,000 steps..(hint: I was a runner for a large store/pre-Covid) ......so I'm now in the hunt for my next awesome FitBit watch....looking for something with the Word (Sale) attached to it....saw a Macy's ad on Sunday ..and there it was "FitBit-on SALE!!!" ..... told hubby I NEED to go to Macy's and get this first thin Monday am....Running(slowly) in the store, found my FITBIT selection..logged my name in their customer wait list book n "Waited" ..there were 2 other customers, so I patiently looked at all the diamonds, jades, ohhh the black pearl necklaces....ah back to reality....my name was called .....Ann assisted me in choosing my final choice....with an additional discount I saved $50.00 !!! Not as big as the other locations here on the island. But I did do a online purchase with a instore pickup and this review is based solely on this experience. I took advantage of their Black Friday preview sale and did a in store pickup. With in seconds you get a email and text confirming your order. Within an hour you get a text and email stating your order is ready for pickup. This info also includes directions on how to get there, where in the store to pickup your items and a scannable barcode. Once I got there I went straight to their service counter which is located in the men's clothing section closest to the Mauka parking entrance. There was no line and the customer service was very friendly and even complementing me on my purchase and how good of a deal it was. Within minutes of her scanning my barcode she was walking out from the back room with my purchase. This was such a cost saving, fast and friendly experience. I will try to utilize the online purchasing with a in-store pickup more often. read more

Macy's (Kapolei - Ka Makana Ali'i). (3 stars). I'm a simple human when it comes to shopping. I don't like walking around malls or going "window shopping". So for me, this Macy's is perfect!! It has a downsized version of most departments! It's a ONE story building which has 4 exits and converges in the middle to the fine jewelry!! The big difference that I noticed with this location is that there are less registers and less people on the floor! My friend and I went to the Grand Opening and yet it was hard to find salespeople!! I got the wicked awesome luck of having their computer system crash during my transaction so I had to wait 32 minutes for a full reboot. Yes I had to have my colorful Under Armour socks damnit!! :) It seemed like every cashier was stressed out because the computer system was sooooooo slow (my guess is the servers weren't equipped to have all these transactions at the same time??)... Maybe I'm wrong. Every single register had 10 plus people waiting. Some people said they were waiting for 45 minutes!! I didn't hold it against Macy's but hopefully things get better!! Note: The store manager told me Macy's Woman (Plus size) is supposed to open by October 21, 2016 (along with the rest of the mall). My friend was looking for a bunch of kitchen appliances that were advertised in the newspaper but sadly this location didn't have any of them. I felt bad since she came specifically to check out this new Macy's and to buy kitchen wares... Since we had no luck in the Home department we moved on to the makeup department... My friend and I stopped to do what she called, "A quick 3 minute makeover! No worry Jan, it's free we just going try!"... LOL it took us 45 minutes since the makeup artists were part of a national Glam Team. It also wasn't free! I walked out with $125 worth of skin care and my friend walked out with $100 worth of makeup... I just opted for the skincare routine while my friend went with the full makeover. She got lucky since normally the makeover costs $75 from the Glam Team!! It's not something I would normally do... Sigh... The things I do for friends!! Haha!! After that we ended up going to the shoe department... Finish Line is the "Shoe Department" in this Macy's. However it is a separate company so if you show your MILITARY ID you get 10% off all shoes (EXCEPT NIKE)!! Macy's is what it is. A decent cheap department store. If you're lucky, you can use their coupons every once in a while. But if you're like me, apparently everything I want in here can't be combined with coupons!! Ugh. Parking is ample and on-site. The parking lot is currently a maze but once all the construction is done there will be more than enough parking!! All in all, even after dealing with so many let downs... I would come to this location just because it is closer to me. The customer service here was on point. All the cashiers sincerely apologized to all of us who had to stand in line. I heard that the Macy's Management may consider making this location bigger if they find there is a need. I hope they keep it small. At least I don't feel lost in this store!! read more

This review is for In-Store Pick Up. I don't have time to really shop in person. I needed a dress for a funeral and found one online. There was 1 left in my size and was available for free In-Store Pick Up. (The shipping option wanted to charge me surcharge for living on a rock + shipping cost = Hell no). My order was ready for pick up a couple hours later, but I didn't get a chance to pick it up till a couple days later. Picking up my order was a breeze. When I got in my car, I took the dress out of the bag. The dress comes with a necklace with lobster clasps attached to loops near the shoulders on the neckline so that the necklace drapes down the chest. One of the loops was broken so the necklace was just hanging awkwardly. Then when I got home and tried it on, I noticed there was a rip in the fabric on the back near a seam. The dress fits, but I want to get the dress altered because I have short girl problems. I'll have them fix the rip and loop also, but what bothers me is that I wasn't contacted about the damages on the dress by any employees prior to letting me know that my order was ready for pick up. The employee who rang me up obviously had to see that something wasn't right with the necklace when she retrieved my order. And whoever picked the dress from the floor in the first place should've seen it as well. Employees need to be trained to check clothing for damages and contact customers and ask if we still want it. It would be a waste of time for me to drive to the store, check the dress for damages, and to get a refund if there are. Otherwise, In-Store Pick Up would be In-Convenient. If you're going to sell me a damaged dress, at least give me a deeper discount. read more

Went in there with an intention to get one product, but CYNTHIA found me a significantly better deal because she was fully aware of the promotions. I walked out with triple what i wanted with a great price as well! Made my day thank you CYNTHIA for being great at what you do! read more
