After going to Hawaii on vacation, my family and I went to this hotel. We were appalled at the horrendous lack of service in which the 4 nights we were there, we only had our room cleaned on the last day. The madness gets worse because to even get this service, we had to put out the maid cleaning sign and call the front desk to clean. The room would be cleaner if a raccoon got in there. They didn't take out the trash which was overflowing, left trash all over the room, and the sheets were still messy on the bed. We paid $150 per night including sky high resort fees and were met with not only horrible service but a disgusting room. On the window area, there was what looked like black mold (unfortunately no pictures) along with what looked like barnacles on the window sill? Pool was ice cold, hot tub was ok, lounge chairs with broken straps, and no towels. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. read more

Old hotel that needs serious renovations. Rude money hungry parking garage attendant (old rude lady!!) with this hotel for $45 a night, made us pay an additional $45 even when we were checking out at 7 am the next morning -cheaters!! Non-working elevators, the two that were working are slow as hell. Midnight fire alarms goes off as they try to evacuate the place. Waikiki 50 police cars down Kalakaua all hours of the night you can hear because of the thin hotel walls. Our neighbors complained about roaches and bed bugs/YUCK, we just had a few bugs. Small rooms, no living room, no balcony. Everything is a fine, pool rules, return valet trolley within 20" or pay a fine, security desk nor guards were never there. Really old hotel and serious renovations are needed from decor, elevators, pool area (spa jets don't work other are weak). Won't be back....EvER!!!! read more

My opener is something I found myself thinking often during my stay, 'This place is a trash ass dump.' When I arrived there was no front desk staff, no one answered the phone, and no employees to be found. Luckily (was it tho?) the front desk person happened to wander up from her smoke break before I left. Check in went well enough. Typical stuff. This building is part hotel and part Airbnb/condos. I originally booked with Airbnb but canceled as the hotel was cheaper and the room was a lot bigger. I don't know that it made a difference in all honesty. The place is a dump. The ceiling in my shower was bulging due to water damage. The headboards are somehow hung up on wood on the wall and will fall down. The sheets are absolutely disgusting. The worst ever.... Parking is a joke and is pricing 100% arbitrary. Apparently if you rent from 808 SmartCars (in same building, one desk over) you get a discount on parking. I paid $20 for 48 hours. Parking is cash only (sketchy) and is NOT assigned. I went during "winter" so it wasn't an issue but if it's crowded, beware. You could wind up paying for nothing. This place was the WORST place I could ever go. Yes it was a good price, but my mom and I arrived and there was one worker. And three people complaining. Then we had to wait an hour for our room. When we finally got to the room, it was old fashioned and smelt nice... but there were stains in the microwave and fridge and on top of that there was a bigger issue. Booger on the wall!! And a piece of rice, AND scratches and dents in the wall. Overall I hate this place and don't recommend it. So fuck this place off your list of cheap hotels. Good views, could use better elevators, staff was pretty friendly. - BEWARE: DO NOT USE THE "PARK-A-LOT" PARKING GARAGE ATTACHED TO THE MONARCH - The owner, her entitled workers and basically just the entire company are the SCUM of the earth. I've never met such RUDE, MONEY HUNGRY and ENTITLED people in my life. DO NOT give your hard earned vacation money to these literal dirtbags. Simply put, we pulled up with our rental car, paid $200 cash for a parking pass and as we were going into the garage to park, our rental car broke down. Of course we ended up getting a new rental car that came with (of course) a new license plate. New car = new license plate = need a new updated parking pass. The girl at the gate (who later boasted that her family owned the company) gave us a hard time about "pulling into the entrance incorrectly" and made us do a complicated and time consuming turn in order to enter the way she wanted. When we returned, she AGAIN decided to play her power card and gave us a hard time by pointing out that our Parking Pass license plate didn't match our current license plate. Valid. We explained the situation in which our first car broke down and got towed, NEITHER of which was OUR fault. Hoping they'd understand and SIMPLY WRITE US AN UPDATED PARKING PASS, the girl snarked and said "wellll actually you'd need a whole new pass and pay ANOTHER $200". We were so dumbfounded and tried to explain again hoping she'd see how the situation was not our fault. The girl continued to be rude and dismissed everything we were trying to say, rolling her eyes and staring at her phone while talking to us. She kept saying it's "part of policy" but when we requested to see a copy of such "policy" she made an excuse of "we don't have a copy". We then asked to speak to a manager and she declined that too. We then asked for a customer service number and she (again) declined, stating that "it wouldn't work". She then remarked that her family owns the company as if that made a difference??? She ends up calling hotel security so we called the cops because the situation was just ridiculous at this point. The funniest part is once the cop arrived, THE COP AGREED WITH US TOO. The cop literally said out loud "these people just look for a power trip and entitlement." Finally the girl called her manager aka her mommy who literally could not give a shit about anything but the phone glued to her face. Upon arrival, the star Momager of the Year obnoxiously waved her hand and said loudly "I only have a minute here, I NEED TO GET ON A BOAT SOON" while checking her phone just as much as her daughter. Even the cop raised her eyebrows in disbelief, I swear this disgusting company should be on a sit-com. Momager refunded us minus some and then whisked away in her car. Some other hotel guests came up to us after and stated how they see an altercation like this happen almost EVERY MONTH. We have travelled all over the world and this is the WORST customer service experience we have EVER had. This company is an EMBARRASSMENT to the good people of Hawaii and I hope others just trying to enjoy their vacation never come across this type of BS. read more

I recently (April 2019) stayed here during my trip to Oahu and I booked my lodging via Airbnb. I'm really confused how this building works though? Hotel is in the title but I think people live here too. I've stayed at another hotel like this in Oahu before as well, except it was through Expedia. My room at the time had hotel cleaning services but the unit next to me was definitely someone living there full time. I don't know, I don't get it and I know there are a lot of places like this in Oahu but it worked for me! I stayed in a 500 square foot corner unit (estimating) on the 14th floor. It had a queen sized bed, bathroom, sink, mini fridge, and microwave. It was perfect for my fiancé and I. We also had an amazing view of the city and pool. Loved it! Our specific unit was a bit tight but it worked well as we just needed a room for sleep. Paid parking is available for $25/day, full access to pool (bbq area also available), laundry, and gym (one time rate of $5 for our stay, not sure if that's the same for everyone). I never made my way to the lobby but there are some food options (burger spot and a café with pastries and coffee I think). If I ever visit again, I would stay here. It's walking distance from a 7-11, ABC store, and some restaurants. It is extremely close to Waikiki as well. If you're looking for something super fancy, this is not the right place for you. The building is pretty old and grimy, the hallways reminded me of a murder scene from a movie (HAHA) but our unit was clean and inviting with AC. Just be sure about your specific unit and everything should be fine. My Airbnb host was Choi, she was lovely to work with and I recommend her place for sure if it ever pops up on your search! The one star is strictly for the Airbnb that I rented out. The room is located in Hawaiian Monarch & it's quite a cute place in itself. The owners take good care of the room. Everything else is just trash here. The elevators take forever just to get from floor to floor. You also need to have your room key ready in hand to stick it in the elevator to go up to your room. The gym was out of service. The parking garage smells like dead fish on certain floors. $30(CASH ONLY) parking a day with your hotel card for a run down beat hotel. Last but not least, the workers here are RUDE!!! I am not a tourist but I brought my bf to Hawaii for his first time. I'm born and raised here and the way I saw workers treating guest was absolutely unacceptable. Starting with the PARKING ATTENDANT. There's a heavy set white guy that sits on his chair all day all night on his phone and every time you need to exit or enter you can tell in his eyes it literally kills him to get off his chair and walk 2 steps to open the gate. But the real question is why does this hotel have people working the lot 24 hours a day instead of just getting an automatic gate opener for their guests?! It's 2019. Next let's go to the rude front desk attendants. It didn't happen to me personally, but I did see some tourist ask for help since the elevators are so tricky and the worker was yelling at them like they were children! How dare. These are the kinds of people who kill people's vacation. The renovation of this older property should happen immediately for the prices they charge. The business is owned by Roberts Hawaii which owns a lot of properties and various business. Roberts Hawaii does not wish to upgrade their rooms, simple and small like paint the walls, regime the floors and replace the appliances. DISCRIMINATES AGAINST DISABLED! The worst hotel I've ever stayed in. I'm a disabled woman with a prosthetic leg. We checked into our room, & realized there was only a shower. Calling the front desk, advising them that I am unable to bathe without a tub or shower chair, as the shower has NO shower bar or safety equipment. I asked if they could accommodate me, with a different room or a shower chair, as we would be staying for 5 nights & I need to clean myself. I was told that "it specifically states on their website that this is not a handicapped accessible hotel, & that they do not have bath tubs here. They rudely stated there was nothing they could or would do to help me. I called Expedia, as they are who we booked our trip through. After almost 90 minutes going back & forth, & several calls made from Expedia to the hotel manager, they told me the same information I was previously told, & there was nothing they could do. As I was on hold, I investigated the hotel website, & also other reviews, & found the hotel policy, which states that disabled guests should bring their concerns to the front desk, & the staff would make every effort to accommodate all reasonable requests. I've attached a screenshot. I also found several photos of other rooms with bathtubs in their bathrooms, & attached those also. I explained that this was evidence of blatant discrimination against a disabled person. Expedia looked up the information, & copied it for their files, as they agreed with me, & are filing a report against the hotel themselves. They also offered to support me, in any way, should I decide to file a lawsuit against the HAWAIIAN MONARCH for discrimination. We have family staying at a nearby hotel, so we have made arrangements for me to travel across town to bathe in their hotel room daily, which I will also be using against this hotel, in my complaint. Along with the lack of free WiFi, parking which costs an additional $30 per day, horribly rude staff, lack of even a free continental breakfast, very noisy AC unit, & hallway noise, we even called to ask for extra pillows, & a lady at the desk told me housekeeping went home, so I could pick them up from the desk myself. (Yes, I still have only one leg, but I'll make the walk). If I'm paying a RESORT FEE, their lazy asses can bring them to me, like any well run facility would. I'm embarrassed for the Malihinis (Visitors) who come from all around the world to come visit the beautiful Hawaii Nei and have booked this hotel. Please avoid staying here, unless you don't care about customer experience. It doesn't exist here at the Hawaiian Monarch. It used to... When I was younger, this was a popular go to place to stay and the night club used to host a line waiting to just get in. Today, it is barely a whisper of what it should be. Upon my arrival, the front desk guy who greeted me was not very welcoming. In fact, he's the opposite. In his very monotone and unenthusiastic voice with his blank facial expression, he checked me in. Actually, it was a painful process that doesn't blend in well with the Aloha spirit. I did like his unique "Bowl" style haircut. When I got into my room, it seemed okay at first glance but when I continued to settle in and unpack, I started to notice the unpleasant details. The rug. It's in many shades of green. Green mildew. Green stains. Green mold. Faded green to yellow patches from possible stain washes in the last several years. The furniture looks like items you may find on the street side walks to be repurposed to use as new furniture. Even the small refrigerator sits on the floor by the entrance door (#ghetto) - which makes it difficult to open and close the fridge. There's no wifi in the rooms but there is wifi in the laundry room. The hotel charges a $10.00 per day "resort fee", you would think they can work in a way for wifi. [Small note: just a heads up, the swimming pool is a salt water pool] The second desk person I met there was a young woman who was very charming and engaging. We chatted and she had a very nice disposition. I had asked about extending my stay to a later check out. She told me to call the front desk in the morning of check out. I called and recognized her voice, she told me the hotel was fully booked and I couldn't have my late check out. Well, I was a little sad but then, that sadness turned into being upset when I logged into Orbitz Com and discovered there were rooms available when I was told it wasn't. I don't like liars. My trip wasn't horrible, I spent most of my time with friends and family. Finally, when I checked out, there were 4 people behind the front desk. I stood there for a minute. Finally, with no greeting, I was asked, "do you need help?" I looked at all four them and thought, no wonder this hotel is a slum. They don't have the right people working here. I hope by reading this you'll find something else on our beautiful island as better accommodations. If you're young and don't care - this is the place for you. read more

So, so confused about the reviews on here. I have been to this hotel multiple times, having a few friends that literally live here. I was never not impressed. I decided to review after reading horrible reviews. I live 2 blocks away, and had a water pipe burst in my apartment and was 'put up' here for the night. It was almost midnight, and the staff couldn't have been friendlier. So accommodating, even with it being so late. Very fast check in, nice conversation with front desk. I technically did not personally pay, but the room was definitely reasonably priced for Waikiki 10 minutes walking from the beach. They offer eateries, and rental cars services right in the lobby. Getting to my room, very impressed. Nice size, table with chairs, mini fridge, microwave, nice bathroom, air-conditioned room (it was freezing). Very clean, if I didn't live Hawaii, I would definitely stay here because of the cleanliness, staff, and all the amenities offered. Please do not judge the messy room, that is mine personal mess lol. Definitely 5 stars for Hotel Monarch, definitely suggest for anyone looking for a great place to stay while on vacation! Or even to live. read more

I slept in someone else's blood! DO NOT STAY HERE! When I noticed it in the morning I told the front staff that I would need my sheets completely changed and they asked my room number. When I got home late that night the bed was made, but the blood was still there! I had to call down to the front desk, was told housekeeping was gone, I had to insist on them finding a clean sheet and insist that it be brought to my room as I was already ready for bed. This coupled with someone else hair on top of the toilet paper sickened me! They double booked the same room so gave me an upgrade, but when I got to the room it was not updated it was a horror scene: the carpet so stained and gross the room super small, a Motel 6 would have been a paradise compared to this room. Thank goodness I got a call that they had given me the wrong key. I switched and at least the "deluxe" room didn't feel like I needed a mask to walk around. The elevators are very slow, there is no air conditioning in the hallways or elevator so on a hot summer day it's stifling waiting to get to the 20th floor. Parking is now $30 a day with hotel key per 24 hours which is very high for such a low scale hotel. If you are wanting a pleasant stay for vacation or business, don't ruin it with such a crappy hotel as this. read more

Save your money ! Not worth it ! Honestly, if I could give half a star or even no stars I really would. Despite how small the bathrooms were, we liked how it looked. Even the flooring in the room was also nice. A bit weird cuz I'm used to having carpet in a hotel room but it was still nice. Now here is why for such a low review: First strike was the parking. Not only was it $35 for 24hrs BUT the attendant DID NOT have his mask on properly, it was hanging below his chin. Not only did he not wear his mask properly but after filling out my card to leave in my car he reached into my car instead of handing it to me to place it myself. Last i had checked, COVID is still a thing. Next was the rooms. We got catfished, they look nothing like the pictures ! We booked more than one room & requested for deluxe rooms but when we finally reached our rooms it did not look anything near deluxe. There was very little room to move about inside. The microwave was placed no where near an outlet. The water pressure downstairs near the pool had better water pressure than the shower we had in our rooms. Their blankets, have they heard of fabric softener ? It was so STIFF & ROUGH that it was no wear near comfortable. Either they need to change how they wash these things or just new ones completely. What topped it all off for me was the fact that no one answered their phones. We needed a few more towels and more toilet paper so I decided to call to ask for a few more, like I would do at any hotel. But no one answered the housekeeping phone OR the front desk ! We booked an Airbnb here and at first we were very skeptical because the outside building looked nothing like how it was listed on Airbnb. It looked very old, and run down. Parking is so expensive, we stayed for about 5 days and it was almost $200! & I'm not sure the name of the younger Hawaiian/Asian women that's the "gate keeper" but she is rude for no reason! Like honey if you hate tourist so much then get a new job. She is unnecessarily rude for no reason!! Every time she is working my family and I always run into issues with her. Also the parking garage is HORRRIBLE! Why are there cars parked on the side, there is NO ROOM!! $35 (CASH ONLY) for a whole day with in and out privileges is NOT WORTH IT! The room we stayed at had ants, we found a lizard in our bathroom and the power went out from 10am-1pm. Save the hassle and stay somewhere else. I didn't not feel the "aloha spirit" here. I'm seeing all the reviews and most people don't like this place :( I've stayed there twice, and it was great experiences. Yes, parking can be expensive, but we kind of accounted for that being that it's Waikiki and all. We got the rooms at like..58 bucks a night when they're normally around a hundred, so we were not going to complain about spending 18 on the parking lol. The first room we had, the A/C was broken. We went down to tell them, and because the maintenance man wasn't around, they automatically booked us for a better, bigger room as a form of apologies. The rooms themselves aren't really big, but I really didn't care about that. When I go to a hotel, I don't really party, I just sleep and..*ahem* yes. LOL not really, just trying to get the point across that not much space needed for the two. The bed was comfortable, the A/C was working fine, the room was clean, and I had a really nice view of the city :) The halls smelled a bit like mold and cat...even damp. I am thinking it's because there isn't a proper amount of ventilation in the building? I'm not too sure. They use these card key system..even for the elevator. I actually like that. If you have no business at the hotel, you can't really get far. I saw that they have a pool and a coin laundromat. I did not get the chance to see/use them. The bathrooms are tiiiiny! My friend is 6'3 and 300+ pounds. It was pretty funny watching him struggle to stay in the tub. The bottom of the tub was pretty flimsy, we were seriously worried that we were going to drop down to the next level in it like they do in the movies lol If you are looking for something simple and cheap, this is someplace to consider. If you are looking for something a bit more extravagant, I'd look around a bit more. I would come back here, for sure. read more

My mom came from Korea to visit for 3 weeks. We both stayed in a 2 bed room. Because hawaii is already warm even at night, we both folded the blankets and put them under the bed. There were the exact same blankets in the closet that we didnt use either. But we got a charge because the blanket was ripped. We didnt even use it. It might have ripped by the cleaner when they pulled it out from under the bed or it was already ripped but the cleaner didnt inspect it very well prior to us. They charge for everything. Even if the towels are used its a $10 per towel charge just to wash it. Extremely low budget hotel. The hallways have white patches from repair but never completed. Some of the fire alarms have signs saying "out of order". The elevators at least 1 out of 3 were broken the whole time we were there. And there was actually a group of people stuck in the elevator and one of the ladys was panicking while sitting on the floor till the doors opened and i witnessed this my self. Sometimes the elevator would stop and jerk in the middle of the trip. Extremely scary and dangerous elevators. And the bathtubs and tile walls were painted at one point. Who paints bathtubs? It should be reglazed I wouldnt have left a negative feedback because we dont have high standards. But my mom was very disappointed and even emailed me a copy of the conversation with Junko. For this price you cannot go wrong. We paid $70 for a room with view over the ocean, city AND the mountain. It was pretty close to everything and walking distance from the Waikiki strip and the main local outdoor mall! The room were decent and it was clean. The staff were a bit slow.... but for the price.. what can you expect? Also, if you have car, expect to pay a 24 hour fee on $12. read more

It wasn't an awful experience, but it wasn't good either. The rooms are outdated and the bathrooms are pretty bad. The beds are not too comfy and I felt like I was going to catch something from sleeping on it. Also, the rooms have swamp coolers that are extremely loud, so bring your ear plugs or be prepared to sleep with what sounds like a small plane taking off in your room. The hotel also rents rooms out, so there are some interesting folks that live there as well as the visitors. There was a man at the pool every day that we were there in a string banana hammock and to each their own, but I don't think it's too appropriate in front of a bunch of children. We're in Hawaii, not France. The pool was really nice, with a fun little BBQ area. I don't foresee myself ever staying here again, but once again, you get what you pay for. read more

Mechanical disaster is this place. Very old pipes that need replacing that the owners that connect to them are responsible to repair BUT impacts surrounding units. Unit above gave my unit a constant drip ( commode ring/pipe issue) Electrical outlets worked off & on Key cards had to get reprogrammed literally everyday while there Slow & hot elevators Many Fire alarms were not functioning Bad odor in hallways. Positive: security crew friendly, beautiful pool area & the workout center was nice. Canal view was nice.... decent price. I was in an Airbnb that was adequate for our needs because we are gone all day. Bathroom dated & small but clean. Host was great in assisting us as much as she could. read more

Cockroach! Go figure! My kids had bug bites, i don't know if it was from the roach or what. Stains on beddings, rusty mini fridge & vault box, Dirty & nasty carpet. Cracked, crusty bath tub. Although, it's our 2nd time here (just bc last year they were under renovation) so we expected that it'll be better & nicer. Plus, we booked this a month & a half ago, requesting a lower floor & rooms that are next to each other since they don't have a conjoint rooms...gues what, they put us on 23rd floor & the rooms were apart like end to end of the building. In short, there was no improvement & it even gotten worse. If I were you guys, add a little bit more on your budget and go book a hotel room somewhere else. This hotel has so many negatives to it, it's definitely not worth staying here especially if you are a tourist. The hotel is old and ran down, the staff, security & parking attendants are very rude. Basically all the negative reviews you see about this place is unfortunately true. Parking is $30 a day with show of room key & it's not even worth paying for just for the simple fact that the attendants are very rude. All seem to hate what they do or something i would suggest they all should find a different job they enjoy instead of seeming miserable all the time. Any time security passed me they would ask if I'm staying and ask to see my room key and mind u I stayed there a whole month. All around just a terrible place to stay. Only thing I would say is good about this place is the view from certain rooms and the location. Definitely don't recommend this place and I won't be back. read more

Terrible spring mattresses. All but 1 elevator have been broken for 4 hours now. Small TV. You have to go down to the lobby to pick up extra towels, soap...etc..The view is nice. Parking is over priced. Bathrooms have minimal counter space. Walls are thin, we could hear other guest, woke up multiple times through out the night. Would not recommend. read more

The room is what it is, a room. You enter and there is your bed next to a table with 2 chairs, small refrigerator, a little stove and your TV. Its perfect for 1 or 2 but don't go there if you have a family. There is also a very small bathroom, the bottom of our shower was all unscaled and kind of dirty. We checked in at 4 but when we got to our room the clealing guys were still there and told us to wait in the hall for an other 15min. You have free wifi, free acces to the pool and sauna and to the gym. The parking can be very tricky!! You can park there for 30$ a night or you can park on Niu street for free from 6pm to 6am. There is also 3-4 other streets you can park for free but its almost imposible. I got lucky and had a free parking 4 out of 5 nights. The only night I parked at the hotel for 30$ is because I lost patience after looking for a parking for atleast an hour. read more

I wanna start off by saying I wouldn't even give this "hotel" any stars to begin with. I also didn't book this hotel, my husband did. He booked it hours before I landed in Hawaii last week. It was a last minute trip so we got what was somewhat cheap but decent. The room was to accommodate me and my 8 week baby whom is very sick and we were also there for a couple of days to get a 2nd opinion at the hospitals there. Honestly I was expecting something better because of the name my husband gave me "Hawaiian Monarch", the total opposite of what the name means. I kind of already had an idea when I first saw the check in counter ha! The old lady at the front desk asked for an ID and credit card. There I was thinking why?! My husband already sent me the confirmation email that it was already paid for. After arguing I won't be providing my credit card she finally let it go and asked for $11 per night for amenities to which I told her I wasn't interested as I won't be using it. She responded that it was "standard" for all hotels in Waikiki to collect this fee during check in regardless if we won't be utilizing their facilities. Of course I was already annoyed and asked to be refunded. To which she said I can't be refunded since I just booked hours before and they have a 72 hour cancellation policy. You see now THAT I got it! THAT IS very standard of all or most hotels. So I was already annoyed and proceeded to check in. We were given a key to check in to the 4th floor. When we walked in, I was pushing my sons stroller. We could not push the stroller past the front door as the space was so tight and it got stuck between the fridge I the way (weird place for a mini fridge to be) adjacent from the bathroom entrance. I was already disgusted at what I saw. I had to leave my sons stroller in the hallways and had to pick up our luggage's to get in the room as the entrance was pretty tight. The mini fridge in the way is hazardous. Not only can you bump into it if God forbid something was to happen but seriously, why in the work was it right rheee at the entrance door and in front of the bathroom smh. Anyhow, The room looked like a cheap dirt motel! If motels look like this! The carpet was so nasty and dirty all around. Like it hasn't been washed in years. The bathroom was old and looked kind of moldy on the edges with a tiny spider crawling in the tub. I was already pissed and automatically took it out on my husband for booking this mess. He was extremely upset when he saw the pictures I sent as it was not the same as the pictures he saw online during booking. False advertisement! He was so upset he kept apologizing for having us especially our sick newborn check in a nasty conditioned "hotel". We were not going to stay, there was no way I am staying with my 2 month old baby in a room like that smelling like that and the carpet ugh, I could not get over that carpet. We turned right around after being in there for 2-3 mins and went back downstairs to ask for a refund. Of course the old white lady at the desk kept saying "well I'm sorry but you're still responsible for the payment" without any remorse as to what I said about what I witnessed about their rooms and provided pictures. It was like she didn't even care. I asked her I couldn't have my sick 8 week old child in that type of room and she said "sorry I don't know to say, but you still responsible for the night but we can refund you tomorrow" smh. Some bullshit! Excuse my language. Asked for her manager and she kept making up excuses that there was no one on site. She also said that the reason their rooms are like that is because they're renovating!! Really?!! Renovating means not keeping your hotel in clean "living" conditions. That's a health issue right there and they should be shut down! What a damn shame! she got on the phone after I kept asking for a manager and came back repeating what she said to me earlier that their manager "Vanessa" said. Smh. She even told me to come back the next morning even if I don't decide to stay with them that night to check out before 11 and that a manager will be on site. The next day was a Saturday. I told her I was very certain I wasn't coming back to sleep or stay there at all. And she still insisted i come the next day before 11 so they don't charge us the next night but yet that first night was basically a loss cause. Anyways, luckily a friend of mine took me and my child in at her home in Schofield. But yet I had to drive all the way back the next morning according to that lady to ensure check out and so they won't charge us for that following day. Well it's been over a week now, still NO refund. Been calling but yet the number keeps saying "all circuits are busy...." smh. Horrible experience! read more

Another negative .im sure the owner doesn't care because he "doesn't want to be bothered" with these problems . No security cameras,cash only (avoiding IRS) and no digital record or receipt of me existing In The system. I paid for two days of parking , and not knowing their customer service is glitchy.. operator had no way to help me with dispute to prove I've paid for parking.. bullied me out of there and trespassed me claiming I'm scamming him to get in .. I'm sure the guy who was distracted the night before took my cash thinking it's a tip when I said I need to pay for another day .. wish I stayed for them to call the police like he promised to make an official report because he admit with our host that their parking system is glitched out ..after much nerves and we had to find another garage mile away from hotel. Suggestion .... keep your receipts . Trust no one in Hawaii. Check everything. Double check your payments. Don't pay in advance . Hawaii ... besides diving and nature your commercial Infrastructure needs major improvement... especially IRA audits.. too much cash flowing around here read more

This wasn't even an okay hotel, not even for $100 a night in Waikiki. You should not stay here, even if you're strapped for cash; you can probably do better with a motel or an AirBnB. You will be charged an extra 5% on check-in for "amenities" as if that wasn't part of the original room price, and the front desk will demand your home address and email and phone number, even after seeing your ID. On top of that, you can't check-in until 3pm, which is the latest I've ever heard. They refused to even try to accommodate a 1pm check-in. The carpet is so mildewy it's green, and obviously hasn't been replaced in decades. The ACs barely function so the whole place is damp. The shower isn't large enough to even wash your feet in, and the tub looked cracked. I'd say the floor would have been better than bed, except for the disgusting carpet. (Seriously so gross that I walked around in flip-flops.) The bed looked buckled and so uncomfortable I woke up multiple times a night. It was probably the cheapest bed they could buy in the 90s. The AC had its light on that it needs a filter change, but this obviously had been ignored as it just blew foul smelling air. It was also extraordinarily loud so we couldn't keep it on to at least stay cool. Sadly the room baked like an oven. The wardrobe was so foul smelling it transferred to my clothing. Fortunately their laundromat was actually half decent, though it was $3.50 a wash, at least it took credit cards. This place is, in a word, disgusting. I shouldn't have been so cheap and just booked a "normal" hotel where I could have slept well, showered and felt clean, not run out of towels constantly because they gave us two for a couple and kept coming by while we were in the room. The only redeeming qualities is that I survived, and was able to see Hawaii. read more
