Stayed here during our visit. We opted for valet parking which was $40/night. They offer free coffee, tea, water and popcorn for guests. They also offer rentals on beach towels, umbrellas, etc. The room was outdated but doable. The toilet seat was broken. We told the receptionist and they sent someone up the room to replace it immediately. They do offer daily room cleaning. They are not a 5 star hotel but every staff members from the receptionist, housekeepers, valets were awesome. Robert, one of the valet guys were always smiling and super nice. BEDBUGS! We stayed here for 10 years. On our last visit we encountered BEDBUGS! They tried to say we brought them, but then admitted they did have bedbugs but that "they address it promptly". They offered us $34.50 off our two night stay! It took us 3 hours in the dark outside when we got home to open all our luggage and put everything into a hot wash and dry, soak down all luggage with isopropyl alcohol and then inspect every single item by hand , toiletries, tech items and other belongings and then wrap all those items in white trash bags and tie them shut for 3 days and then inspect them all again. What a huge but necessary inconvenience . Ten years of stays for each medical visit we have had on the island, and this is how they treat us. read more

Filthy bathrooms with stains on the toilet and mold in the showers. Room weren't clean and bed wasn't changed. My daughter went and complained and they gave her sheets to change. When she pulled down the old sheets 2 cockroaches came crawling out. She took pictures of everything! And I She left that night and ended up sleeping in the airport til the next morning because there was no more rooms left in Honolulu. Had to go to Hotel.com to get a refund. Came here for the first time with my family. We were in the penthouse suite which is pretty huge. After checking in, you'll have to ride the elevator to the top floor (10th) then follow the Pent house sign to the fire exit stair well where you walk up a set of stairs to 1 of 2 doors that you'll need your room key for. Once you walk through that door, you're now on the lanai, but the actual front door is where you'll have to enter. The top floor is really windy and breezy outside on the lanai and also when the windows are open in the kitchen/dining area. You have the view of the Mauka side and the Ala Wai canal and on the opposite side, you have the view of the other hotels. There are no additional elevators or disable assistance to get to this suite so please plan accordingly. They have a full size kitchen with stove/oven, full sized refrigerator w/ freezer and ice. They have a coffee pot, electric hot water machine, microwave, sink, pots/pans, knives, etc. Literally, an apartment size suite, with 2 bedrooms (king and queen beds) and 2 full fancy looking bathrooms (but doors don't lock at all, the water pressure isn't the greatest, and the toilets are like kid sized seats), free washer/dryer machines (dryer was missing the lint cover, and a couch that can convert into a queen sized bed. They have a huge TV in the living room and a huge table w/ chairs in both dining area and out in the lanai. It's not the cleanest room that I've been in, but it's clean enough and the convenience of being in walking distance to practically any place in Waikiki and/or not far from Ala Moana and comfortable living, is a huge plus. The front door has a door stopper instead of the tradition chain or latch is located at the top of the door. They also have a switch that disables the card key reader and prevents anyone from entering once you're inside your suite. They have a cold fresh water machine and freshly popped popcorn w/ mochi crunch in the lobby area. They also have a mediocre gym and small pool on the 1st floor and coin operated laundry room downstairs in the basement. The pool is really small and warm, but with the beach being so close, I'd rather walk to the beach. They don't have continental breakfast, but have coffee available in both the lobby and in your room. All the staff here are all super friendly and very helpful. They are all awesome. The driveway is crazy small and you can easily miss the driveway so remember, if you're coming down on Lewers street to make a left turn into their driveway, you'd literally make a u-turn into their driveway. If you miss the entrance, you'd have to drive around the block to come back around lol. They provide only valet parking or you can park along the Ala Wai canal for free, but pay attention on when you have to move your car for street sweepers to clean or it'll be tagged and/or towed. If you're a guest and only have 1 vehicle then it'll be free. read more

6 nights at the hotel and 3 nights we had cockroaches . One night the cockroaches crawled on me while I was sleeping. The reception staff are trained to beg the clients for good reviews that's why they are at 4.3 according to google. I do not recommend this hotel. When we complain they said we are going to do a deep cleaning but it didn't help and their cleaning is poor. The cockroach came though the hotel hallway and entered our room passing through the door bottom. The Honolulu sanitation department has been informed bout the situation. If you have issues like mine call the Department of Health for assistance at (808) 586-4400. The Coconut hotel manager is avoiding the situation and doesn't want to talk about it. read more

Love love love this hotel! The staff is so friendly. They allow dogs. What?! There's even an enclosed section of grass by their sign on Ala Wai and Lewers where we could put our small senior dogs to walk around. It was very convenient. It's the small details that show me they care like good coffee in the lobby 24/7 and a hurricane once station every day from 3:30-5:30. It's a small thing, but you bet I looked forwarding to coming back every day and grabbing some popcorn before heading to our room. It made it feel like home. Valet parking. We stayed in a long suite that was nicely laid out. Great mauka (mountain) view from the room! I will tell all my friends to stay here Bonus: filtered water station saved us SO much money. If I could give negative 20 stars I would. So highly disappointed with everything about this horrible hotel. We had a booking for last night and checked in around 3pm and just brought our bags up and left. Once I came back to the hotel after the day and got to take a shower I started noticing how dirty everything was. The shower looked like they never clean it, the toilet had pee all over it and around it and looked never cleaned. The sheets on the bed had stains all over it and smelled like they had been reused and never cleaned. My towel I used after I showered smelled musty and like they hung it back up from the last person who stayed there. I tried to not make a huge deal about it even though for spending over $400 on a hotel room was a huge deal when it was NASTY. I told the girl working the front desk and showed her the pictures I took. She said they have no house keeping there at night. And that she could have someone bring fresh bedding and towels up to the room. So I of course said yes please and that that would be good. 30 minutes probably went by at least and someone finally brings up our bedding and they set it in my hands and walk away. So I was like okay.... I guess I'm making the bed myself?? So my wife and I started to pulled the dirty sheets off the bed so we can make it with the new sheets and we lifted up the fitted sheets and COCKROACHES were crawling around under the fucking sheets!!!! I have truly never in my life experienced such a nasty disgusting hotel. My wife and I grabbed all of our stuff and left right away. We went back down to the front desk person and she apologized and gave me the number to contact her boss. I called him and he was extremely rude, did not apologize ONCE and laughed on the phone. He did not care that his hotel was NASTY. He had the nerve to offer me $35 back. I then told him $35 off is a slap in my face considering there was cockroaches crawling around in the damn bed and the place wasn't even what looks like ever cleaned before. On top of that it was almost 12pm at this point and all the other hotels were completely booked when we called everywhere. We had to drive back to the airport when our flight wasn't even until the afternoon the next day. We took an uber back to the airport and sat in the airport with no sleep all night. This was the worst experience I've ever had with a hotel in my entire life all around from the room being disgusted and cockroach infested, to the manager thinking it was funny and taking ZERO accountability for his nasty ass hotel. And not to mention I started looking through the reviews and now it all makes sense. People complained MANY times for YEARS about cockroaches and bedbugs! If I would have seen those reviews before I would have NEVER stayed there. Do not stay in this hotel unless you want cockroaches crawling on you when you sleep. Decent hotel, like most places here, no self or free parking available for guests. Lobby popcorn isn't too bad either. Def a good snack for on the go. I don't recommend the in room ordering service they get from one of the local pizza joints. Too many restrictions on when they would deliver food and sometimes they take cash other times they won't. We had a good four night stay at the Coconut Waikiki Hotel. Located a few blocks from Waikiki beach, shops and restaurants. The rooms were clean. Friendly and efficient staff. We made good use of the fridge and microwave. There's a bit of road noise from the busy street so bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper. As part of my Orbitz VIP perk, I received free valet parking, normally $40/day, and they also upgraded me to a king versus a queen bed. Score! If it's not because of my free valet (expedia VIP perk) I wouldn't stay here. First thing i thought of when i got in the room was *f*ck i wanna go home*!!! Bathroom was so tiny, only 1 chair near the table, electrical outlets only 2-3 are working, toilet paper handle was broken, and the worst part was the people who work there aren't friendly at all. Valet attendant had the nerve to effin wave at me instead of coming to me and retrieve the keys. NO! No assistance even if they see a lady pulling a luggage and carrying a lot of sh*t, at least be a gentleman and open the door. UGH! 3rd day i asked for our room to be clean, FD young male cut me off and told me "oh they'll service it" i'm like okay fine i'll ignore that he just did that! Coming from a tiring trip we were so excited to come back to a fresh looking room! NOPE, bed wasn't made, all of our towels still on the floor! Since there's no HSK past certain time yup we only got fresh towels fine! We placed our trash outside that night we just got our towels, and next thing u know it was still there the next day haha what a joke' As a hotel operations manager on a 5,000+ rooms in vegas i deal with nasty people everyday, and i told myself i would never be like them. Still provided tip, acted friendly, but overall i was very unsatisfied with the experience. Get what you pay for. Nice view from my room out from balcony. Have coffee machine down stair in lobby area and few tea options. Have popcorn machine with salt and bottle of what could be better. Has 2 laundry machines and dryers. 2.5 per load and 1 $ for detergent. I did accidentally break the luggage stand. I assume it would hold my weight but didn't. Didn't have to pay just notify front desk and told them what happened. Was replaced later that morning. Those were the good. Now the not so great, can hear people in hall way from inside room and doors are kind of odd in closing. Literally woke up from a door closing from another room. My personal preference bed is too soft. As a room to rest in, it is sufficient, but could be improved. read more

The outside of this hotel will deceive you. It looks pretty well-maintained. The lobby looks just as nice. Once you check in and go to your room, you will see the truth. Our bad, we left a ring (on accident) on the dresser in our room and left out for the day. We returned in the evening and it was gone, but the room was cleaned. That only leaves one a pretty strong assumption that someone came in and took the ring. We decided to take all our belongings with us while exploring for the day. Overall I wasn't satisfied at all, I did appreciate the friendliness of the day staff but the night staff was very short, one of the receptionist had friends over every night and was sitting around eating and talking with them. We ended up having BED BUGS 2 nights before leaving and had to move rooms twice since they only had a room with one bed the night we found the bed bugs (my husband had to sleep on the floor) we had children. I was actually shocked that they were sold out and we couldn't be moved into a bigger room. The only other nice thing about the hotel was that management was super friendly and understanding the day of check out, I got some fees waived total of around $500 but even then I don't think that was enough after been bit everywhere and having to deal with the anxiety and stress of the bed bugs. The room itself was also crappy, some cracks on the ceiling, old carpet and small and we stayed on a double room. As much as I appreciate the understanding of the situation, I would not recommend staying here, not worth it! read more

Stayed here over Christmas and New Year, the staff were lovely, especially the young lady on reception and the young man handling valet service. The rooms are a little dated and bathroom was small however, for the price and location I think this is a great find. Complementary coffee is available 24x7 and the refillable water dispenser in the hotel lobby is a real bonus. Perfect spot and within walking distance of anything in Waikiki. I was checking in pretty late and she was super sweet and upgraded me at no cost to a nicer room on a high floor so I could have a view. Hotel in general was super cute. Not everything in Honolulu has to be expensive and the Coconut Waikiki Hotel is evidence of that. After many stays in the city, this has become a reliable sleeping destination and I enjoy staying here. While parking can be a challenge, the beds are comfy, the staff is nice, it's close to the beach, and the location is extremely ideal. The hotel is a mix of tropical retro and boutique. I enjoyed the standard rooms that I've stayed in, mainly because of the bed but also for some minor amenities like the coffee maker, microwave, mini fridge, and decent sized bathroom. WiFi is solid and room service is on point. Everything was clean for the most part and while the rooms aren't super spacious, they do come with a good view. Good stuff aside, it's far from perfect. The ACs are somewhat weaksauce, the TVs could use some updating, the pool is quite small (it's okay, the beaches are near), and the daily breakfast while complimentary, is very limited. Not very crazy about the plumbing; shower pressure and toilet flush is subpar at best. Another issue is the valet parking, which is close to $30 when street parking can be free. Prices were somewhere between $120-180 per night, which is okay for what they offer. I know they're in midst of a renovation (which might be finished as of this review), so I'm looking forward to checking it out when I'm back in Honolulu again. read more

You obviously don't realize that the infrastructure / buildings are extremely old and are expensive to remodel, etc. That being said... This hotel is extremely nice for what it is, you get the bang for your buck. Right in the heart of Waikiki. Rooms are nice and clean. Small but cozy. I enjoyed my stay here. We arrived before check-in time and to our surprise our room was ready, they won me with thay one. The hospitality was welcoming, staff was kind and helpful. They suggested places to go around the island, away from Waikiki. Gave us maps, etc. Lots of amenities offered here, great air conditioning, beach towels, beach chairs, breakfast in the lobby daily. They offer classes like Lei making and zumba. The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. We had a beautiful view of the bay, nice patio with sliding glass door, making way for a true "Hawaiian Breeze". This hotel is centrally located in Waikiki. I give it a high walk score as its close to everything in Waikiki, the Honolulu Zoo, transportation, all the great eateries, entertainment, high-end shops, spa services, amazing coffee shops with macarons :)... The cheapest hotel I can find in the Waikiki area. The receptionist is very friendly. The room is clean. Many bus around. My biggest problem with this hotel is that it has ZERO NOISE ISOLATION. Horrible experience , The general manager Dante luana is extremely rude and ignorant and does not believe in customer satisfaction at all . After complaining to him asking if we could get a discounted rate for leaving at 1:00 am in the morning because the settings of the room were uncomfortable and not worth the money . Not only did he refuse to discuss the situation but refrained to saying ( no I'm charging you for everything ) our staff did it's best to help us . They did nothing at all to make our experience pleasant let alone help us at all . #1 Soon as we got there . The host says They overbooked the hotel , and that they have to relocate all of a sudden. Finally the host FAKES a call to a room and asked someone to be relocated and if we can have a seat , (no one comes to the lobby by the way) she finally tells us there's a room now all of a sudden . #2 So we get to the room and turn on the ac on its coolest setting s. Got ready and went out to event for about5-6 hours and come back to the room still being warm like how we basically checked in at temperature. #3 Coconut Waikiki charges you for amenity's that you don't even use like valet . We never filled out any valet papers and got charged for it while my truck sat outside in the driveway till we left a 1:00 a.m and keep my deposit for no reason at all (140$) totals with the 40$ valet charge #4 the hotel does not have insulation or sound proof barrier so you can hear your neighbors and the road outside of the building crystal clear all night . Nobody wants to hear their neighbors partying at midnight #5 The resort has a small water heater not being able to hold a full capacity resort . The water was freezing cold . That was the final straw . So we go down to lobby and the host says after we tell him we are not happy with the outcome of our room, the host say" can I send a maintenance guy to our room " ? ( it's like 1:00 am ) how unconventional is that . We were tired and just wanted to rest .We ended up sleeping in our car for the night . If you read this message then save yourself the burden and please do not waste your time and find a place worth paying because the coconut Waikiki is NOT the place to enjoy . We were going to stay at Hilton Gardens but budgeting called for a less expensive spot. It's an adorable boutique hotel with free coffee, fruit and pastries in the morning. However, housekeeping is by request only and even if you request it, it's not for sure if you'll get it. Also, the first night a fire alarm went off!! My daughter and I stayed in bed, and sure enough an hour later another alarm went off! The attendant announced it was a false alarm! We laughed about it but yeah kind of annoying. Also the water pressure was low and with Hawaiian humidity... well, a girl needs her water pressure. The employees are all friendly and helpful.
