We started our pool install July 18 and we're swimming two weeks later! Hawaiian was great to work with from start to finish. The construction team was quality from pool layout down to closing our temporary fence up every night so our dog wouldn't get out. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY We have been clients of Hawaiian Pools for 5 years. The company has a scheduling problem. Every year, we schedule our pool to be opened on a certain date and that day comes and goes. With no notification that they will not make it that day, they randomly show up sometimes a week later. We have come to expect that. We maintain our own pool- we have a Dolphin automatic pool cleaner, test the water, clean the filters regularly, etc. This year, we ended up with black algae in our pool towards the end of the year. We were told to get certain chemicals to kill the algae. Did that and it didn't work. Hawaiian Pools along with another local pool company, told us the only way to get rid of it was to power wash it at closing. When scheduling the closing of the pool, we told reminded Hawaiian Pools that it would need to be power washed. It's closing day, and the company, again day of, told us they will not be able to power wash it as they do not have time. They will put chemicals in it to treat it, and will power wash it at opening. The opening and closing of our pool are only two examples of the quality of their product and their level of professionalism. When I spoke with Mike the owner, as I was explaining the situation, he cut me off asking if I was threatening him and if so, the conversation would be over. I tried to finish explaining the situation and he kept trying to cut me off. I finally spoke over him telling Mike to let me finish speaking. He called me a smartass when I answered a question he asked me. Hawaiian Pools talk a lot of talk and do not care about their clients. It's all about the $$$ for them. Our first impression - very unimpressed ! The Hawaiian Pools web site states walk-ins are welcome. So, since we were in the area, we stopped in to get some ideas and literature. We found the door locked and the showroom dark. We were ready to drive away, but decided to call the phone number. That's when we were informed they were by appointment, only. So all we were able to do was leave our name and get some brochures. Before I continue, let me be clear that the lady we spoke with was pleasant, and tried to be helpful. Let me also be clear that we know all the pool installers are very busy and booked for months. So we didn't expect anything before next year, which actually fits in with our plans. What put us off was that the whole atmosphere at Hawaiian Pools screemed, "we have plenty of business: so we really don't care if we earn yours" ! OK. Fair enough. There are several other highly rated pool companies in the area. We'll keep shopping. read more

Beware of this company.......they opened my pool on June 11and said they had to leave to go to another home and they would be back the next day to finish. They arrived the next day to finish(never put the railings on and not the jets) they where not there that long. Several months later I received a bill for two hundred fifty or twenty five can't remember this was on top of the three hundred forty dollars I paid them on Jun 12 after they back to finish. I might add I have a very small pool. All the office would say is they had to come back a second day and they have pics of my pool. The office then called the people that were here to close the pool to leave immediately. They worker here told the office that they were in the middle of closing my pool and could not leave. The office lowered the extra cost(from two hundred twenty five/fifty to one hundred eighteen) so I paid four hundred fifty eight to open a six thousand gallon pool. One more point they raised the prices without telling people to three hundred doors an hour or more b/ c they have pics. read more

I know this has been a long time ago that this happened, but luckily I had the money to build a pool, fix the screw up that Hawaiian created and also pay over $6000 in attorney fees that Hawaiian did not cover and was not awarded in the verdict. If you use them set money aside for litigation. read more

**DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY** My wife and I had Hawaiian pools install a new residential pool in the fall of 2016. During the installation process, mistakes and poor workmanship was on constant display and a running theme by this company. They had completely forgotten to install the planned deck jets and when this was discovered, the concrete had already been poured. They were forced to be installed in our yard, which has posed major inconveniences ie. pool fence required to be taken down every single time in order just to use this function and the caps on the jets constantly being churned up and in lawnmower blades. When the pool was complete, we were never given instructions to sweep it with a hard wire brush daily, which has resulted in an uneven pool finish. We had our hot tub finished in river rock which required them to come out a number of different times due to poor craftsmanship, one of which was met with an obviously disgruntled and rude employee arguing that there was nothing wrong with his sloppy work, but then admitting to have never worked with river rock in the past, (we were even told how horrid the work was by a long standing owner of a large local concrete company).This was an employee that had been previously terminated from another pool company(we personally spoke to the owner of this pool company), for non dependability. The Pentair system they installed has ~35% success rate; it either doesn't connect or simply doesn't respond, either remotely or through the control panel on our hot tub. In regards to said control panel; it was never installed properly, even after multiple visits and many complaints it was missing brackets so it was always popping out and then it was installed upside down(never corrected). During another maintenance visit, an open and overturned industrial sized jug of hydrochloride acid was left spilled on our concrete pool deck. The acid left holes and pitting which is still visible after their shotty sub par patch work. We were assured that it would "blend in", which it never has. We never received any apology, or even any recognition of responsibility. We just considered ourselves extremely lucky that our 2 dogs and 3 curious young children had not discovered this before us. Along with the pool installation, we had a maintenance contract through the company to come out every week to perform the responsibilities of checking water levels, checking chemical balances as well as all equipment maintenance; all of these discussed personally with the company prior to service. This service was also used during the winter for our hot tub only, which was to remain open year round. One evening while attempting to use the hot tub, the water level was discovered to be ~12 inches lower than normal. We contacted Kenyan (an employee that honestly requires a completely separate complaint file), which stated "Oh yea, we noticed the water level was really low and forgot to tell you. You should fill it back up." This was during a time of below freezing temperatures. Our hoses were frozen shut and after hauling over 30, fifteen gallon buckets of water to no avail, attempts to refill were deemed completely fruitless. During the next maintenance check, it was discovered that due to the low water levels, we had endured thousands of dollars in damage to our pool equipment. We reached out to the owner, outlining our history of complaints and company malfeasance only to be told that we are responsible for total cost of repairs. For what was Spencert on our pool, the amount of unprofessionalism and complete lack of responsibility displayed by Hawaiian Pools is unacceptable and legal action has begun. I highly recommend this pool company. As with any project, there are hiccups, however they were very accommodating and flexible to make everything come out nicely. My only regret is that they aren't closer. Finding pool maintenance close by is not so convenient. read more
