We were so happy staying at the Hawaiian Princess on our family vacation. Away from the Honolulu/Waikiki chaos of tourism. Let me just get down to the knit and gritty. I'm not going to sugar coat this one. The Princess is a 16 story tall condo complex that is securely gated with a public beach access. There is security on the grounds 24/7. There are key fobs that access the main gate and the key fobs access the elevator, pool area and gates to the beach. We felt 10,000% safe here with our child during our 10 night stay in March during Spring Break. 50% are long term residents. 50% are vacation rentals. Lets talk about smoking - NO SMOKING on any of the lanais, pool area, BBQ area, ect. You'll get kicked off the property and they mean it. There is a designated smoking area behind the tennis courts. We never smelt any stank on the property. Which was great because cigarettes are gross! Lets talk about theft - We had zero issues with theft here in Waianae or on the island in general. Remain vigilant. Don't leave valuables in your vehicle. Don't leave your vehicle unlocked. We left absolutely nothing in our rental car. Not even a phone charger. Nothing! We even took down our dash info for the Princess when we went into public areas. We didn't want to be like, "look over here, this is a vacationer with a rental car" Be smart about it. Let's talk about the homeless - It's a thing here! There are indeed many. A huge population of displaced people. Some encampments along the 93 Farrington from Makaha south to Kapolei can be 100 - 200 sized encampments of tent city. It's a real thing here. The Princess had a few strays passing through since its a public beach. But not one person camping on the beach of the Princess. They have really cracked down on that and have no camping signs on the rocks. If the homeless make you uncomfortable, stay in Honolulu and Waikiki in a resort with the tourist craze. We are from the SF Bay area and homeless all over where we live and it's normal to us. But if your from Kansas or something, you might get a little freaked out. Lets talk about driving - There is one road in and one road out. It takes about 30 mins to get to Kapolei. And about 1hr to get to Honolulu. We loved staying far far far away from people. Honestly, when we return, we'd stay at the Princess. No questions asked. Let's talk about the neighborhood - It's a little rough. A lot of older run down homes. A lot of junk in front of people's homes. There is a huge feral cat population. There are wild roosters, chickens and peacocks running around. There are Island puppies. No one fixes their animals and are mostly in tact leading to a huge over population here. All of the homeless have dogs and puppies with them. The roosters start crowing at 5am. You'll hear them and you'll see them. Everyone has been very friendly though. Its definitely its own little community up here. If it all makes you feel uncomfortable, again, you might want to stay in Honolulu/Waikiki tourist chaos. Conclusion- We would 1,000% stay here again. read more

Just spent 4 wonderful weeks at the Hawaiian Princess. It's a great timeshare location! Rooms are always clean and well maintained. Staff are helpful. If you like remote Hawaii without masses of tourists, this is a great place to vacation. On the other hand, if high prices, small rooms, thousands of tourists, crowded beaches, and overpriced Waikiki restaurants are your liking, Hawaiian Princess ain't your place I love the peacefulness of Waianae. The following is a copy of my email to management. To Whom it may concern, We have absolutely enjoyed this beautiful location and building here at Makaha Hawiaain Princess here in Waianai, Oahu. However today, when we had a few issues to take care of, our experience with your staff was terrible. I don't understand how people that are working in a service industry based job have absolutely no clue as how to provided decent customer service. Namely Kim and Penny. We called earlier today to ask if someone could look at the dishwasher as it was not functioning properly and Kim just told me to wash the dishes by hand. She was very unpleasant ( I am trying to use nice words here, but you know what I mean by that). When my wife went down to register, she was dismissive and rude in communicating and told her that "In Hawaii, we don't use dishwashers". Mind you, we've been doing dishes manually up until this point and after a big dinner, we wanted to use the dishwasher. This afternoon, I went down to the office and as I walked in Penny was in the room outside of the office and didn't even turn around to see who was there. After standing there for a couple of minutes I had to literally interrupt her to ask her how to leave our keys as we are leaving early and to get a coffee packet. She was obviously put out that I interrupted her to do her job. She seemed a lot more pleasant after I asked her what her name was as she was not wearing any kind of badge or name tag. This is absolutely terrible customer service. I have never been treated with rude disregard over the last eight years that we have bought our timeshare. We travel several times a year and will probably not be choosing this location just because your customer service and management here is so rude and bad. What happened to the Aloha spirit, and good happy customer service? On the other hand, the security staff here have been amazing. No complaints whatsoever. But your office ladies, Kim and Penny have unacceptable communication. First of all it's a beautiful section of the beach, however the hobos are bad, they have permanent camps right on the beach beside the resort. Secondly they do not allow you to turn the air below 70, so with the sun shining in the window get ready to boil alive. Third, there is pigeons that hang out on the balcony and crap all over the outside chairs, once we left the cleaning lady's blamed us for the crap outside. Also I think the resort is trying to get extra money from us by saying the rooms were a mess. We washed all towels we washer all dishes and picked up everything on the floor, we took out all the garbage all we left was a pack of water and some snacks on the counter. Well to start on the way there for the majority of the drive down the west side of the island it is literally all homeless people and encampments. No this isn't the resorts fault but I definitely will not be staying here or on this side of the island again because of this. We didn't feel safe going anywhere close for dinner as there were druggies everywhere. The only thing that helped make you feel "safer" is that it is gated where you park your car but even then there were homeless people on the cliffs near the hill to the left of the resort. It's nice because every unit has a beachfront view (minus the homeless people walking) along with chairs and beach gear you can use. The unit we were in was awful though for numerous reasons. Never have I had so many ants when staying in one of these timeshares. They were all over in this unit and were a pain as we had to hide food and put it all in plastic baggies to keep them from ruining our food. The ac unit in this unit didn't work either and when you're out and about all day you just want to come back to a nice air conditioned room. Nope it was busted in the entire resort supposedly like a month before we arrived. The traffic trying to get back to the hotel DAILY was a nightmare and took us over an hour everyday just to get back. I will not be staying here or anywhere close to hear in the future. read more

They will only supply you with some bare minimums like a few rolls of paper towels and toilet paper. When you ask for more be prepared to go to the store to purchase some. We never had to do this at our other timeshare property. This will be the first and last time we will stay here. They also wanted us to take out our trash before we leave. I'm sorry but maybe next time I will go somewhere else. The security guard told us to make sure we don't leave anything on the lani because it can be stolen. We live in crazy times and visit crazy places. Trading Places should not be part of this. It is poor representation of trading places. Great private beach although it's open to the public. Condos are a little dated, but no complaints as you can see below the views are amazing. Seemed like a lot of restored couples st the resort. Only a few children while we were here. Downside is traffic is terrible to go anywhere. Really frustrating and being from a city with bad traffic this was way worse. If staying here I would suggest getting as much as possible at Costco on the way to minimize driving. read more

This place has the best spot, right on the beach. You can rent a condo from the owners on your favorite b&b app, the views are magnificent. I could even could spot some whales cruising! Amazing. I own a timeshare in Las Vegas and have been exchanging for Marriott's Ko'olina. Lately my request hasn't been a success, so I kept calling Interval Inter. to get an update on my exchange. I was desperate and in need of a staycation for family time and also wanted to spend time with my daughter before she leaves for college. I'll take anything that is available ASAP. When the representative mentioned Hawaiian Princess, in Makaha. I was desperate but not that desperate yet. I had the rep. put our stay on hold before I do my research. He gave me until the next day to make a decision. The rest of the day, I checked Yelp, read reviews and checked out the photos, ( I was amazed at how beautiful the photos are) Since Yelp didn't have any updated reviews, I checked Trip Advisors for reviews and I was so happy to read all the positive/great reviews. I was excited and couldn't wait to share the news with my other half. One thing that would stop me is that the location of Hawaiian Princess is in Makaha. I thought it was too far and that one question that pops up is safety?! My other half was excited about our stay and he said go for it!! Before making my final decision, I called Hawaiian Princess and spoke to Kim Antonio, the manager, she was super friendly on the phone and also in person. She was so patient with me, I asked her tons of questions. She answered them all. After talking to her, I made my decision, I called the representative the next day and said, "YES" "Book Em Dano"!! I paid my exchange fee and the rest of the fees and received my confirmation for Hawaiian Princess. This reservations was made in June of 2017, as time got closer, I was super excited for my staycation, we finally stayed at The Hawaiian Princess for one full week, time sure flies when you are having the BESTEST time. Overall We LOVED every moment of our stay, my kids, my other half. We have nothing but awesome things to say about The Hawaiian Princess and I would do an exchange to stay at this property again. I didn't know there was a vacation rental, time share property out on the West side and many of my friends, co-workers asked where is this property?, its Beautiful!! when I posted my photos on Social media. You don't have to own a timeshare to stay here, when I checked the booking info. on line, the price per night is actually reasonable. I met 3 families from California, during our stay and they mentioned how they love it here and been here for 21 years. The only one issue I would have about staying at the Hawaiian Princess is the long drive from Honolulu and the traffic. There are road work construction going on and I hope they add more lanes to go in and out of Makaha. We did head to town during our stay, my other half had to go to work and my son had school, so he said it took him 2 hours commute time, this is w/out accidents. Location: The Hawaiian Princess is located in Makaha, 84-1021 Lahilahi Street. It is next to Makaha Cabanas. It is a long stretch of road on Farrington Hwy., once you see the yellow arrows and a 16 floor building. After the 5th arrow, make a left on the Lahilahi street. I always tend to miss the turn and it was harder at night. Safety: This one was of the questions I asked the manager before booking. The property has a security gate, a key fob is needed to enter. A key fob is needed to enter the elevator at all time and there is a security guard. We felt very safe during our stay. Parking: No additional parking fees, there are ample parking spaces, Register your car and you will receive parking pass. Amenities & Room: Hawaiian Princess is not a fancy like resort like Ko'olina or Aulani. It is more beautiful in its natural way, the sceneries you will see in your room is a such a treat, the ocean view, the sunset and sunrise views, the private beach, the sounds of the ocean, What more can you ask for? Besides the beach, there is a pool, small Jacuzzi, and 2 BBQ grills. Room: We were in a one bedroom suite, the beds and pull out sofa beds were comfortable. The appliance in our rooms were all up to date except for the televisions. Our suite had a refrigerator, tea kettle, dish washer, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, washer and dryer, ac, ceiling van, lamps and televisions. What I LOVED about our stay: Enjoying the sunset in our rooms from the lanai, enjoying the sunset with my family and enjoying sunset along with a few beers. I also Enjoyed having all of our meals on the lanai with the ocean view. We didn't eat out much but did more take outs just so we can enjoy on the lanai. During our stay, we also had the opportunity to explore the west side, drove further to check out the beaches, beautiful scenic views, came across a cave, and hiked Kaena Point. FYI: There is also a hiking spot right next to The Hawaiian Princess, the little mountain you see to your left, which is Lahilahi hike. Definitely could've been better... Pros: Right on the beach and great views. Turtles swimming daily. Quiet on the west side. Older kid friendly (but not younger kid friendly). Fenced property (except the beach, and the fence is not high, easily jumpable, has difference holes that have been repaired, and really does nothing to deter anyone. Whales seen in far off distance. Pool and hot tub are nice. BBQ downstairs. Fruit offered daily for a donation. The staff seemed pretty friendly, overall. Danny frequents the beach, hustling for some business for his surfing lessons. He is on trip advisor and has a lot of great ratings. Cons: Traffic to go anywhere is painful. Might as well just not leave the property. Sharks in the water were observed multiple days while we were there, close to shore, like 10 feet from shore, reported by multiple people. So not really that kid friendly. Not like the lagoons in Ko Olina. The beach shore is steep, and the waves get pretty large, large enough to make it 60 feet in, like half the distance from the water to the building. Not suitable for younger children, they will get knocked down hard, easily. Our girls are older but they got knocked around pretty good. My wife had rashes from the sand from being knocked over. Intense waves, never turn your back on the ocean. Property is over 40 years old, and feels like it, one of the elevators were down for our whole stay, things do NOT get repaired fast there. It was kinda gross overall. The area does not seem safe. There's druggies camping next to the beach nearby, apparently they live there year round, are chased off once a year, and then come right back. We were frequented almost daily with this crazy lady that would do weird dances and movements on the shore, literally naked at times. She wasn't too unsafe, she didn't bother anyone, other than being a distraction. Security is very friendly, but also very limited in force and presence. Just one person there at various times. There's always loud sirens from police and the fire department. We've seen them take multiple people away on stretchers from the beach. There is a mixture of time shares and residents there (leaseholds, that all expire in 2032 we learned), some are very nice, and some, just are NOT nice. Over all, it was a beautiful location, which we greatly appreciated, but the building itself needs a lot of work that is not being put into it, the location doesn't feel safe, and the driving was terrible, felt like half my vacation was spent driving Oahu highways. read more

We are loving this place it is off the beaten track. This is about 45 min from Honolulu and 1 hour 15 min from the north shore. We have noticed this may be one of the poorer sections of town by the buildings, but it is beautiful, see the pics I uploaded of the beach and units. The exterior looks a little dated but the interior of our unit is updated nicely. Now as this place is off the main track it is slightly isolated. There are some local shops, several smaller grocery stores, a few local restaurants, some fast food (McDonalds, Taco Bell, jack n box, KFC) and a thrifty or longs. If you want fine dining, Outback or better you will have to drive 20-30 min - but I came here to experience the local food etc... I also stayed in Waikiki for the last few days of our trip. This place is by far better as it is the real Hawaii and the beach is beautiful with clear water and turtles swimming at least every other day. People tried to tell me the locals were not friendly and this was a bad part of town. I found this to be completely wrong. Again while this is a poorer area and there are homeless here (and all over Hawaii) I found the locals to be friendly and they treated me how I treated them. this to me was more Hawaii than the concrete jungle of Honolulu read more

Stayed here for a week. When we checked in, our room wasn't ready yet. So we waited a few minutes and went back to the office and was told that there was a problem with our room. And we got an upgraded room. The room they put us in was the corner room on the 14th floor with a private wrapped around lanai and a gate. We had an excellent time. You will not be able to swim much since the tide is super strong. But every room in the building faces the ocean. The view is to die for. The beach is beautiful. The location is very sketchy but It is a gated hotel so you know your car will be safe. Plus the security guys are there all the time. I wouldn't go out to town at night though. I usually don't like to complain, nor am I the type to stay at fancy luxurious hotels.However, it is 3am right now and I am fed up with this horrible place! Here's why: 1. Bed bugs!! I got bit 7 times!! 2. No wi-fi, except for the lobby area where you have to bring your own lap tops (I'm writing this via cell phone web) 3. Super small tight parking spaces! I've been staying here for the past five days now (out of nine) and I have only good things to say about this place. Though I was initially somewhat impressed by the leeward side of the island's relatively dry conditions (vegetation-wise) and concerned about the surrounding neighborhood's sketchiness, "Turtle Beach" (and the Princess itself) proved an oasis. This has to be the prettiest, quietest beach on the whole island. What a gem! And the daily turtle sightings! Wow! The sunset, the stars at night and the sound of the ocean lulling you to sleep at night while you sleep with the windows open (no ac needed but it's there if you want it) ... It's awesome too! Then we ventured out and found that the "sketchy" 'hood was actually full of fun markets, friendly people and delicious food! And the beaches on this whole side of the island were way better than the famed North Shore for surfing and paddling (a locals' secret). We even swam with a huge pod of spinner Dolphins at a nearby locals' beach. As to our unit at the HP: Gorgeous and kitschy with hammered copper sinks, Hawaiian accents everywhere, bamboo floors, new stainless steel appliances and *the best view ever.* And at half the price of a really good hotel, there's no doubt: this was the right way to go for us. Perhaps you need to be a little more adventurous than the average American to plan a vacation here but you'd be missing out if you didn't. read more

What a beautiful place to stay! Here are a few of the perks: -good communication with the managers -beautiful beach without the crowds -dolphin excursion boat is 5 minutes away -kitchen for cooking, and you can pick up groceries 10 minutes away at Tamara's -parking lot is enclosed and requires a fob to get in -Disney and other resorts are a 20 minute drive if you want "fancy" food -the sun sets in this side of the island so you can watch the sun disappear into the ocean every night We also could see turtles swimming in the water from the 11th floor balcony which was cool. The other reviews are right, there are not a bunch of local restaurants so you have to travel out an hour for most of the popular eateries. However you get a quiet beach you can enjoy without the crowds, and have cocktails in your condo while watching the sun set. It's a minor sacrifice to make!! read more

Very dangerous place at night. A car was broken into & badly damaged. Supposed to be a gated community with security, but not after 11:30. Only one guard & she is too busy ruining people's vacation looking for so called violations while cars are being broken in parking lot. Also just the other day there where 3 cop cars by tennis court & apparently there was a break in while people were sleeping. Honestly the beach is secluded, but people in the other building let their animals use the beach as a litter box for dogs, cats, & the homeless. My suggestion is that they need at least 2 guards on at all times because there was only 1 man doing his job & his shift ends at 11:30 pm. But, even he can't be everywhere. We've been coming to the Hawaiian Princess for years. We look forward to it every year. It's a quiet spot on the south-west side of the island. There are many reasons why I like it. Here are a few. I like the fact that it's not in the busy part of the island...the traffic in Honolulu is dizzying. I love the views and the sound of the waves. We keep our back screen open at nights and hear the calming sound of the waves all night. It's serene. I like the local food down the road. If you're looking for expensive, regulated food when you eat out, this is not your place. There are some really good little local restaurants down the street a few mins that are delish! Try Hannara's...they have some macadamia nut pancakes that are to die for! If you're looking for the city time-share experience where you're waited on for everything, then this is not the place for you. Like the lady who gave the HP **, you'll need to take your own trash out and do your own laundry. That's fine with me! I'd rather do it myself anyway...that way I know it's clean and not some recycled or refolded old laundry. Try it. You'll LOVE it! read more

The one downside is it's a little far to dining other than fast food but the beach is secluded, you basically have it to yourself while here and there's a area off the the side you can walk and see tide pools! As some of the other people have said it's kind of in a "bad" area but we haven't has any problems with the people here and it's gated so I don't fear that my vehicle will be taken. Your in the middle here from Waikiki and the North Shore so we haven't had any traffic as there are ways around it where we are. I would recommend this place but i am also staying at my bosses condo which is old but definitely worth the free stay only have to pay a cleaning fee! If you are looking for a relaxing beach getaway this is the place to go just get some food at Costco before you come and you are set!! read more

They put guests first at the Princess! Don't worry about the noise of trash pick up, they do that out on the residential street so they won't bother guests! And while they can't actually keep the local people off the beach they do their best! No pesky Hawaiians are allowed to park on OUR side of the road. If you don't feel like leaning out of your car to use the intercom, just honk your horn and wake up the neighborhood kids, the manager is fine with that. Beautiful Ocean view, however would not recommend this place. You are basically on your own as a guest. No housekeeping service; you are expected to wash your towels. The appliances are not maintained; had issues with the dryer. Very poor lighting throughput the place; the entrance can be very tricky to find in the dark. The staff is friendly, but if you have issues, make sure they are from 9 to 5...no one on duty after that. read more

What a dive, very disappointed! I would not recommend staying at the Hawaiian Princess. The condo owners do not disclose what a horrible area it is located in. It's extremely dirty and the condo is right off the main road, in a locked compound. So much for paradise, wondering if you car is going to be there in the morning or the possibility of getting robbed. The location of the Hawaiian Princess virtually at the end of the Leeward highway is simply too far away from the major family attractions of Oahu. Whether is it hiking at Diamond Head or Manoa Falls, visiting Sea Life Park or taking in all that Honolulu / Waikiki has to offer, a long drive in heavy traffic is required both ways. The Makaha area itself is run down and poor and not a place that feels safe or offers much of interest to children and families. Caution...Forget stopping for gas, you might be mugged in the day light. It's a filthy place surrounded by the homeless and not a place to spend a holiday. The property is run-down and not desirable. Landscaping doesn't exist and the pool - what a joke - it's so tiny. Fine dining does not exist, and it's a 30 min. drive to casual dining. The building seems to be occupied mainly by permanent and seasonal residents who are very unwelcoming to visitors, particularly children. To put it politely, the Hawaiian Princess seems much more like a retirement home than a family vacation destination. The behavior of the manager John, maintenance staff and security guards towards "guests" is like we are prisoners in the county jail. I felt like a criminal with all the rules and constant badgering. The manager John is an absolute #$%^& (insert your own swear word here). The pool, parking lot and garbage chute in particular are subject to numerous rules you will be reminded of constantly- both real and imaginary - that ruin the experience for even the happiest of vacation goers. A happy, fun, spirit of aloha is definitely not found here. It was a nightmare trying to deal with management. Avoid the Hawaiian Princess at all costs. Stay somewhere with more professional management and a better location away from the homeless tent shelters. read more

Waking to this view every morning from your lanai should give this location ten stars. Pristine Oahu, the only beachfront here that offers such a wonderful swimming/surfing cove (depending on the wave conditions) in an almost private whitesand beach location. A fourty five minute drive from Honolulu, where the sunshines almost all the time and the mountains are lightly green but mostly desert wheat. Beautiful coastal drive intemixed with the reality of the homeless and how a community has to work to stay positive in an environment of lost opportunity. Step beyond the gates of the Hawaiian Princess with Mauna Lahilahi harbouring the precious sand from drifting away where the dry conditions keeping runoff to a minimum and you got clear and clean revitalizing ocean water, 98% of the time. A mix of timeshare, snowbird ownership , and independent short/longterm vacation rentals (a variety of quality furnishings and finishes). Perfect for the romantic, just avoid the Commandante. read more

My family and I travel all the time and this was by far the worst condo we have ever stayed in. To start from the beginning, we drove across the island to get there (which was fine) then we were greeted by grumpy mean security staff. Then once we made it up to our condo the decor was straight out of 1982(which was fine). The kicker was that we had to cover the furniture with sheets before using them and if our 11 month old was going to sit on them then we had to put down another sheet (2 sheets for baby to sit on). The bathroom was absolutely hideous and needed a lot of plumbing work. The toilet ran all day and night most days. The shower head sprayed water EVERYWHERE! Plus the pressure was terrible. Every time we showered we had a huge mess to clean up. This is a condo so you have to clean the towels and sheets (which is fine) but when you are cleaning up huge water messes it really really sucks. The washer and dryer sucked. They are not a regular size washer and dryer (which is fine) but they took absolutely forever to dry. The condo was extremely hot especially at night. You weren't allowed to use the comforter either. The bed is extremely uncomfortable and the pillows are flatter than a pancake. You can't wear your shoes in the condo either. Then ther is the noise of traffics and the tons of emergency vehicles that go past. It's very noisy (morning noon and night). Also according to native islanders the area where the condos are located is in the ghetto. The pool is like swimming in an icecube. Very very very cold. The beach isn't family friendly at all. The view from the room is amazing but that's it. Nothing about this place would make me want to stay ever again. In fact we hated this place so much that for the last 2 day we were supposed to stay there we bought another hotel room. When you go on vacation you expect to relax and have fun...this place was not it. Airbnb is supposed to be a home away from home and this was nothing like that. It was very unwelcoming. read more

The hotel itself was a ok. Good but nothing great, mind you. Very standard layout of the units (approx. 530sf for 1 bd). Clean, right on a beautiful Makaha beach. The neighbourhood is a straight up ghetto. Sirens wailing non-stop all night long. Profound lack of good places to eat. Also the rules in the building... My goodness... Rules everywhere... you are not even allowed a floating gear in a pool (which by the way was cold and not very attractive in itself). read more

Hawaiian Princess is my bliss. The Beach is second to none. The View is as good as it gets. The new management has really committed to improving the property in every way. It is the essence of off the grid in paradise while staying connected through wifi at the same time. You'll enjoy what is essentially a private beach, swimming with turtles, watching whales and dolphins swim just beyond the secluded cove. The neighborhood is local and people are great.. it is not a plush resort..If you need to have resort dining and perfectly manicured property that can be found 10 miles away in Ko Olina... meanwhile did I mention the epic sunsets! i have found Zen here. Was not pleased with the room at all. From the time you walk in the door, you are literally overwhelmed with signs instructing you what to do or not to do. I'm not exaggerating here folks, there are signs upon signs upon signs in the room "don't sit here", "place this here", "do this", "do that", etc. I traveled to Hawaii on business and my colleagues who had been there before joked about all the signs and the mandatory structure/behavior the owner tries to push on their guests. My colleagues call all the signs the "9,000 commandments". You better obey them too if you don't want to risk losing any of your deposit. In addition to the signs, there is also a binder of "House Rules" to follow as well. After getting acquainted with the 9,000 commandments, house rules, and other miscellaneous postings, I pulled the comforter back on the bed to find dead bugs and a blood stain. Ugh. I did not use the dining room table though because the first time I sat in the chair, it felt like it would break. If felt very rickety and not wanting to break one of the 9,000 commandments, I just ate meals standing up next to the sink. I'm not fat either... just an athletic 180 pounds. I emailed the owner to ask them the WiFi password - remember, I'm here on business so the internet is a big deal to me. They told me it was at the computer workstation. I still to this day have no idea where that is. I called security and asked if there was a business center in the building; there is not. I got another email telling me to look in the House Rules book (I could have overlooked it but could not find it there). Yep, the owner actually spent more time not telling me the password than helping me out. Thank goodness I could tether through my cell phone - which I ended up doing for the trip. Finally, among the 9,000 commandments, you will find Hawaiian words peppered among the text. You'll see a lot of, "mahalo for your kokua". Well, in Hawaiian kokua means cooperation. It does not mean the owner gets to be cheap and lazy. For visitors of West Oahu, stay 20 minutes away in Ko Olina. You'll pay a bit more but the aggravation you will save is completely worth it! Very well maintained. Great access to the beach and an incredible view. They have a grill, pool and hot tub.

No a/c! Good if you like the room 80 degrees! At least 2 hour commute to any sightseeing, do not travel between 2:00 and 8:00 pm! Very rude staff!! Approached twice by homeless men, followed by 3 police officers! Unit 104, was cleaned like a 4 or 5 on a scale of 1-10, there were dust balls all over the ceilings, and bugs in the cupboards. Construction tape and debris obstructing our veiw! The beach was beautiful, once you walked through the debris and were not bothered by the homeless men! read more

What a gorgeous view from our lanai! The beach was wonderful with soft, deep sand and warm water. It was never crowded, almost like having a private beach. The property is very well kept and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The only downside was that it was on the far west end of the island so it was a drive to see things. It is however close to Ko' Olina which was very pretty. If I were to visit Oahu again, I would definitely stay at the Hawaiian Princess. read more
