Absolutely loved the Root Beer volcano! It's ice cream with shaved ice on top with Root Beer syrup. So delicious! Perfect after a bike ride on the Little Miami Bike Trail. My husband got the Pineapple volcano and our son I got the Batman volcano, it was a grape and blue berry mix. Kids cup was $3 & small was $3.25. They we're bigger than what we thought they would be.

    Strawberry smoothie. Yummmmm.

Oh this is certainly a true hidden gem if there ever was one! My boyfriend and his best friend RAVED about this shack any chance they could get whenever we mentioned visiting the Loveland Bike Trail. Right in the main parking lot of Downtown Loveland, this shack has prime spot for all the patrons of the trail. Sadly they aren't open year round but during the busier season they will expand their operations from the small shack, to a house next door! Everyone is so kind and helpful, it is hard not to feel all the hometown and nostalgic feels every time walk up to the window. Our favorite is the fresh fruit smoothies but their main sell is their shaved ice. With an UNBELIEVABLE amount of flavor choices the child in you (or the child with you) will shriek with joy! You won't be able to resist this cold, icy treat on a hot summer day.

Blue raspberry and strawberry daiquiri. Yum!!

Amazing little place just off the bike trail. Enjoy biking, walking or running and take a nice big cup of Hawaiian Ice to cool you off. Parking is free and right out front! Also plenty of bike storage, tables for eating and even a bike repair station just steps away! I really enjoyed my blue raspberry and Strawberry Daiquiri combo. Highly recommend this place to anyone!!

This is a cute little stand on the side of the Loveland bike trail in historic Loveland by the park. They have a selection of ice cream as well as shaved ice and I think you can even get one of those soft serve mixed with slushie drinks. The staff is friendly and the prices are very reasonable.

We love to go to the Loveland Bike Trail, but no ride would ever be complete without stopping by the Trailside Ice Shack.

There are few things in life that manage to perfectly straddle the line between nostalgia and…read morenovelty. Snowie, the snow cone stand that goes by no other name because it needs no embellishment, is one of them. My journey with Snowie has been a tapestry of sensory joy, summer ritual, and a near-spiritual quest for the perfect blend of syrup and ice--a journey so rich and layered that I can no longer tell where the pursuit ends and the craving begins. The First Encounter I remember my first Snowie snow cone like most people remember their first kiss: vivid, electric, and oddly life-defining. It was a humid July afternoon--the kind where the heat warps the air and clings to your skin like molasses. I was hot, thirsty, and disillusioned with the world of watered-down slushes and sticky popsicles that promised relief and delivered regret. And then, like a desert mirage turned real, I saw it: the iconic Snowie stand. Bright colors, cheerful fonts, and a line that hummed with anticipation. I joined it without hesitation. What struck me first was the ice--not your standard, chunky, gravelly snow cone filler. No, Snowie's ice is different. It's whisper-soft, airy but packed, and it doesn't just hold flavor--it becomes flavor. It's not just a vessel for syrup; it is the canvas, the base note, the core of the experience. There's a silky texture to it, almost like fresh powder fallen from the sky and immediately kissed with fruit nectar. That first bite, with Tiger's Blood cascading into Blue Raspberry at the base, was more than taste. It was an awakening. The Flavor Journey You might think that once you find your favorite flavor at a place like Snowie, your journey is over. You'd be wrong. Snowie rewards the adventurous. The more you explore, the more it gives back. At first, I was loyal. Tiger's Blood, with its lush strawberry-coconut undertones, was my north star. But over time, I started experimenting--maybe a drizzle of Pina Colada on top, or a swirl of Sour Grape underneath. I fell in love again, and again, and again. There was never disappointment--only discovery. There are over dozens of flavors, and that doesn't even include the potential for layering or the fabled "create-your-own" technique. It became a ritual: each visit a strategic decision. Would today be a tropical blend with Mango, Guava, and Pineapple? Or a sour symphony with Green Apple, Lemon, and a whisper of Cherry on top? Each combination tells a different story. Some are loud and nostalgic, like Bubblegum and Cotton Candy--perfect for when I want to remember summer as a kid. Others are mature, nuanced, like the haunting balance of Blueberry and Cream. Every combo is a new page in a never-ending novel, and I am the protagonist. All I can say is - get lemon lime, cherry, and pina colada!
