I have not eaten inside however have been through the drive through and or takeout. I get the large Huli Huli Chicken pretty much every time. The chicken looks like beef (I'm guessing) it has been marinating in teriyaki sauce for a long time . The staff at the drive through and at the counter are always kind people to deal with. Ordered a large and regular plate. Aside from the cashier totally messing up one of the plates both plates came the size. When I brought it to her attention she was too busy socializing with friends to be bothered at reimbursing the money or telling the cook to make the proper size. She was dismissive and could care less about her job. Not the first time. Most likely won't go there again. It's a shame because the manager is very accommodating when she is there. We have frequented this Hawaiian Times since it opened, always ordering the same Alii 3/4 mixed plate. The last time we ordered it and opened the meal, upon arriving home, we thought that the kitchen erroneously gave us the regular size meal instead of the larger portion. Again today, we opened the meal and now realize that although they have raised the price exponentially to accommodate inflation, they have also greatly reduced the size of the portion as well. We've been here several times and every time we've left full and happy. Each time we come in I try something different. I haven't been disappointed in any option I've tried! I'll admit that the beef dishes are a lot more flavorful and tender than the chicken dishes though. My husband loves the Mac salad here but I'm not a big fan of it. That works out great for him because he ends up with two portions of it! This visit I noticed that I had the option to pick 2 entree option for one platter. I chose a beef and a chicken to try side by side. The beef was fantastic but like I stated before the chicken wasn't as good, especially when placed right next to the beef. Both were cooked really well and was tender but their beef is just so much better! Try one of the Hawaiian sodas they have on display! I've liked every one of them I've had! It's a cute diner with lots of tables to choose from. All the tables are well spaced out, even when it's a little crowded at peak hours. For some reason the floors and tables always feel a little sticky but I'm not sure if it's the finish on the wood tables and floor or if they need to try using a different cleanser. It doesn't take away from the good food here though so if that type of things bothers you I'd just do a to go order and enjoy the yummy Hawaiian food. read more

Indoor dining is closed at this location currently but there are some outdoor tables between them and neighboring businesses, not sure who actually owns the tables in the breezeway. I walked in and placed an order to go. Very clean and staff were very upbeat and ready to take my order. I asked for less rice and they suggested a different order which was exactly what I wanted at a better price. My order was done in about ten minutes or so and tastes very fresh. The Owners do a horrible job of managing their staff of all 18 year old kids zero restaurant experience, yet they come cheap. They run out of there main product a lot, chicken, thus defrost frozen chicken under running hot water, a big no no thus will be fined by the City if caught in the act again.Plus makes customers sick. Portland location & a fee other locations have closed due to poor management by Owners who brag they bought the recipe s from a Hawaiian guy at a garage sale. This was our first visit to this Hawaiian Time location. The food was good, however we probably won't return. The floors were sticky to walk on and every table was dirty. The male counter person (who had really bad body odor)walked up to one table and brushed it off with his hand. I asked him to wipe off the table we were eating at. I visit this chain often in other places of Oregon and have never found one to be this dirty. I skipped using the rest room out of fear. Just ate there and the lady at the counter was super friendly. I ordered the large number 4 which is Kailua Pig and it was delicious. The mac salad is very peppery but creamy and delicious. I ordered, poured my soda and sat down. Before I could put my purse down the food was in front of me. I just walked out so full and didn't come close to finishing my meal. I have been craving Hawaiian food for days and this was just what I needed. My only complaint is that there are no signs saying where they're at. Hello, I am contacting you to let you know I visited Saturday the 22nd of September around 8:30 pm. It was the end of a long night not just for me, but probably for everyone there as well. Around Monday night, I got really bad stomach cramps and was vomiting by 3am Tuesday morning. I still am right now. I have a fever, major chills, been puking and have diarrhea. I have been sweating like crazy and been super dizzy. I gave the last of my money for the week to you guys, and I haven't eaten since I can't keep anything down. I got the pulled pork, and it was mostly grissle and fat. I was starving and had no more money so I ate most while my boyfriend just had the Mac salad. He's fine, but I'm not. I ask you this since I worked in food service for 2.5 years- PLEASE don't cross contaminate!! It has been a horrible few days. I can barely move and I'm shaking. We've been here several times and it's because the food is great, the place is bright and comfortable and roomy. I like the spicy chicken and the rest of the fam likes the teriyaki chicken or beef. I don't like mac salad - or any pasta salad for that matter, but those who do say theirs is very good. I'll take their word for it and make sure they have plenty by not taking any for myself. I do really appreciate the alternative choices you have with their food - my preference is to skip the mac salad, have the main course on a bed of lettuce instead of rice and have one scoop of rice to go with it.... For me, it's a really tasty balanced choice. If I would pay extra, they would add a side of vegetables. I've had it before and the veggies are quite good but basically I'm cheap and I'm happy without them. One thing of note - they have Pepsi products which is something I enjoy a lot. I don't like Coke and just have water, so even though I'm too cheap to add the veggies, I add the soda because it's my favorite and not the easiest one to find when you go out. I've probably been here over half a dozen times and I'll keep going back. Not that it's my favorite but my family would really appreciate it if they would add "loco moco" to their menu. That's a real Hawaiian working man's meal and it's a shame that they don't offer it. (bed of rice, hamburger patty, gravy, fried egg)... Maybe I should start a petition because the other Hawaiian place I know of in town has closed and my family is having withdrawals.. read more

I ordered the Standard Honolulu Beef and it was very tasty but overpriced. It comes with steamed rice and macaroni n cheese. The inside of the restaurant is kept clean and tidy. Drinks offered; normal fountain drinks and Hawaiian canned sodas. Outside seating is available and bathrooms are inside. The beef plate with fountain drink was just under $13.00. The food here doesn't drive me to bust out the ukulele and sing an ode to Don Ho. But for the quality, quantity and price, I come back here to fill the family up. I always get the Kalua pig the first time in a new place. That's my benchmark item as it can be so tasty in it's simplicity. It was juicy and had good flavor without being too salty. The mac salad was surprisingly seasoned and quickly devoured. My youngest demon, who doesn't do "try this" very well, plotted then set into action his plan to eat my share while I was occupied with napkins and such. I swear he has superpowers like plastic man because my mac was gone and he had a pink Guava nectar mustache. This little demon ordered soda, and I across the table had the Guava Nectar or what was left.. Most of the time I get two big orders and can share it amongst the 4 of us. I would have to agree with some of the other reviews. Stopped in today for lunch. Because I'm on a Keto diet my choices are limited. Basically meat and veggies. So my weight lifting buddy orders a double order of pulled pork and a pile of sauteed veggies. I order the same. $21 for that?! Seriously? It was good, don't get me wrong. But it was waaaay too much money. Is there a shortage of pork butt that I didn't hear about? And just to nitpick - the "Soy" sauce was in a plastic squeeze bottle labelled "Soy" Sauce which is groovy for people that don't care about sugar and carbs, but for us, no nutritional label meant we couldn't use it.
