02.11.26 @3:30pm Walk in is like a chinese take out size. Place your order and find your own seating. Is style is similar to a Chinese take out. I'm not sure is a Singapore or Malaysian style but definitely not authentic.

Shoutout to this hometown hawker-esque restaurant. Heads up, cash or debit only! While portions are HUGE, the quality of the food itself did not disappoint. Although we didn't order their favorites, I was still extremely pleased at how they preserved authenticity and the flavor profiles. Most dishes are $13.95 plus tax, it was also nice to see that these guys did not expect any tips! The cafe/hawker is self service and relatively small. Not ideal for big groups. Will definitely be back to try out their other options but finally glad I could find a solid mee rebus out here in the PNW!

it's the kind of place that feels like it hasn't changed in years and we kinda hope it never does

haven't been to this singapore/malaysian restaurant in a hot minute, this used to be one of our go to little hole-in-the-walls. miss the lady who used to run the front, and the chef/owner was off today, which might explain a few things. voted #2 in georgia straight's golden plates 2024 for cheap eats, with most dishes priced at $13.95. the lamb curry rice is $18.95, beef curry noodle and nasi lemak is $14.50, and beef curry rice is $16.50. we showed up at 6:48 pm on a saturday and i totally forgot they only accept cash or debit. located at 4127 main street, near east king ed, street parking available. closed on sundays. i've tried most everything on the menu over the years, and often get the roti prata, sayur lodeh bee hoon, or laksa. this time, we ordered the fried kuey teow with chicken, hainanese chicken rice, and the mee pok. got everything to go, as the venue is tiny. the char kuey teow is usually the star, wide rice noodles stir fried with soy sauce, bean sprouts, egg, and a bit of heat, meant to be smoky and slightly caramelized from high heat wok cooking. this time around, it was missing the wok hay, no smokiness, no magic. the flavours just didn't hit like they used to, and portions seemed smaller. the hainanese chicken rice came with poached chicken and rice cooked in fragrant broth. the meat was fine, but lacked the silky, tender bite we were hoping for, and the rice could've used more seasoning. did they ever serve the ginger and scallion oil, and chilli, or am i getting this mixed up with another place? the mee pok, flat egg noodles tossed in a savoury sauce, served with fish cake, prawn, bean sprouts and ground pork, had decent texture, but overall felt a bit muted, like it was missing that punch of umami and vinegar that usually makes it sing. still, there's something endearing about this tiny spot, faded food photos on bright yellow walls, plastic plants, laminated menus taped up wherever there's space, and a fridge full of canned drinks humming away in the corner. it's the kind of place that feels like it hasn't changed in years, and we kinda hope it never does. fingers crossed it was just an off night, we're still cheering them on.

I went to this restaurant for lunch on August 13, 2025. It was my first time there and I was looking for a quick, filling, and reasonably priced lunch. This restaurant fits the bill. I ordered the Laksa and it did not disappoint. It was ready 7 minutes after I placed the order. The soup base was creamy and the bowl was full of ingredients. I was particularly impressed by the freshness of the prawns. The overall dish was hot, but the chicken was cold. Some people might like it cold but I like everything piping hot. This was the only criticism I have of the dish. However, priced at $13.95, this is definitely good value that I cannot find anywhere else in Vancouver. There are only a few tables for sitting, but people finish their meals quickly and leave, so there were always seats available while I was in the restaurant. It is hard to find free parking nearby, I ended up parking 3 blocks away.

it is a very small restaurant with very crowded seats. but they definitely has the my favorite laksa in Vancouver. the price and portion size are very reasonable at this time with crazy inflation. the soup has the right balance of coconut milk creaminess and spiciness recommend

As a Southeast Asian food lover, I have been searching for the authentic taste in Vancouver. I heard about this small bistro on the Main St and I felt excited to give it a try. It was not hard to find the shop and there are plenty of street parking nearby. The moment I entered the shop, the smell was so familiar and my nose told me this is authentic. There were many picture of their dishes posted on the wall. This is really great for first time customers. I ordered Nasi Lemak as it is a signature dish of Malaysian cuisine. The rice with rich flavour of coconut, the fried chicken pieces were nicely done without over cooked and perfect to eat with the sauce. It was wonderful! I would appreciate if they can add some dried small fishes to the dish. I asked the server for recommendations and she also recommended chicken rice and mie goreng (fried noodle). I will try them when I visit there next time. In terms of price performance I think this place is highly recommended.

New on menu. New prices update. January 2021.

Two things I will order here when I want a taste of Singapore food are the fried kway teow and vegetable fritters. On my last visit, the staff asked if I wanted the Singapore style with lup cheong (Chinese sausage) or just with chicken (not sure what version that is). I guess now they try to differentiate the different types of fried kway teow. Items I don't really like on the menu are the bak Kut teh and Mee rebus. They are not what I'm used to back in Singapore. The other dishes I've tried are ok, not so bad.

10/10 would recommend staying in and ordering takeout from Hawkers Delight Deli and sharing with good people. Delicious authentic Singaporean and Malaysian food and known for good cheap eats in Vancouver! Delightful Friday night! We've come here a handful of times most ordering to take home. Born and raised in south Vancouver this place is legend! We can't comment too much about the service or ambiance doing takeout but this Hawkers Delight is always busy and we all know why! Best kept non-secret in Vancouver as cheap delicious eats!

Like what people have been saying. Parking is horrible in this area. It is smaller place so, it's easy to miss if you're driving at night. They have a good selection on their menu. When I got the food, it was fresh and hearty. Everything is in take out containers as this place only offers take out. The hainanese chicken and the fried rice was two of the most recommended dish. Will try the Laksa next time.

My last review was a year ago and since then I am thrilled to say I've been to Hawkers and have ordered from Hawkers multiple times and it's always SO DELICIOUS! Tonight we ordered - Mee Pok - noodles with a pork sauce, pork cutlets, fish cakes and prawns and it was so tasty, flavour on point! We got veggie fritters which were sizeable for $2 and came with a vinegar based dipping sauce. We also got spring roles as well which were piping and so flavourful. A MUST that we always get is the Roti Prata - delicious flakey thin dough dipped in a spicy-ish coconut curry sauce of sorts. Phenomenal food and perfect for a cold winters night! Also the value is great - $38 total for our two meals and we've got lots of leftovers!

This place is a local Gen in Vancouver offering hawkers food in the city. The place is small and cozy and i believe it's cash only. The service was quick and easy. You order at the cash register and beside them is the cutlery stand. You get a number and wait for it to get called. I ordered char kway teow and it's absolutely tasty. The noodles were good and there was so much meat. So full after. I definitely want to go back here and order other dishes on the menu.

Totally forgot about this place so it was time to give them another go. Parking is quite awful here. Totally rememebered why I haven't been here in ages. Cross your fingers and look on the side streets. Staff are the real deal Singaporean. Prices are still somewhat reasonable, though personally I found the portions a wee bit on the small side. I had their fried kuey teow. It's a bit sweeter than the HK style equivalent. Nice and tasty though. Their vegetable fritters are better than the last time I had them (previous review). They were actually warm this time. Came with dipping sauce too. Wouldn't mind coming back.

However, I was a bit disappointed but not too much as prices were decent depending on what you get. We got the chicken laksa, Nasi goreng, Mongolian chicken, and kuih lapis. Chicken laksa is the ideal order as the soup is decent and the pricing is fair. It is not the best as the soup didn't carry much flavor and the noodles were a bit on the softer side. It was filling however. Nasi goreng is solid. The vegetables felt frozen reheated and wilted, but at least the cucumbers were fresh. The amount of shrimp, squid, and fish cakes was dismal. Flavor profile is good. The Mongolian chicken is okay. It's not fried as the batter is quite soft. It is saucy which my friends were craving. I enjoyed the flavor profile of this one though. The dessert is good. Kuih Lapis is a colorful dessert so it appealed to me in both taste and presentation. One red flag I noticed is that I heard beep after beep of microwave sounds. It's as if all the dishes they prepared well in advance and just reheat for us, plus they walled off the kitchen and the back completely, giving the impression that they want to hide something. Most renowned places won't hide the back like that, as you can at least take a peek of what's cooking behind the scenes in most places. Service is good as they refill complimentary tea throughout our dining experience. Pay at the front for the bill.
