My sales experience with Humberto was 5 star. He really worked with me to find a refrigerator for my space....smaller than average. He gave me a discount to get close to competing costs. Upon delivery, there was a rain storm. After disconnecting my fridge the men told me that I had to be rescheduled because my new fridge had to be taken apart and the rain would risk harming the components. When I called to schedule re-delivery, I was told it would be another week...and that day didn't work due to appointments, so it was looking even further out. Long story short, after discussing for a while, the manager, Michael, told me they could bring it first thing the next morning. The 2nd delivery worked well. The person who was in charge also gave me more information about why they couldn't bring it inside via a different door the day before. I really think that there should be more leeway in the schedule for when something like this happens. I am sorry I had to get so upset in order to get the 2nd delivery done in a more timely manner. read more

Poor after sales experience. Hawkins was recommended by my cabinet designer so that is where we went with our drawings to pick out appliances. Having no experience with down drafts, blowers and how they are installed,we ordered what was recommended to us. Come to find out after the blower was delivered that there are various options for blowers that would be compatible with the down draft for various installations, some with 10" ducts and external installations, and some with 8" ducts for internal installations. No questions about installation were ever asked by the salesman. I have 8" joists in the basement, making the installation of the considerably more expensive 10" external blower almost impossible. Not to mention the extensive cutting of the block wall in the basement that would be required. Tried to do a return of the 10" blower and was told this is not possible? What?!?!? The only solutions offered were that they could try and sell it on consignment and take a commission, or try and sell it myself on FB market place. So I had to purchase another blower to complete my kitchen renovation and am now stuck with trying to sell the 10" blower to try and recoup some of my money. read more

They were terrible. Our dishwasher broke when it was under warranty, and a man from their company came out and was almost verbally abusive to us. He also told us that he had a car break under warranty that hadn't been repaired in 10 months, and it was just our tough luck. We used this appliance store for years, but we never will use it again. They don't appear to care about loyal customers at all. read more

Good for repair service. Knowledgeable and timely but I after being a customer for years I would not use to buy a new product again. They, like a lot of family businesses, don't make it through generations of new owners with the same ethics and customer service that once made them successful. read more

I work at a big box store and I ordered my dishwasher from here. Very fast delivery, installers were fantastic. Everything is in house, even the warranty. I only paid 900 for a Bosch dishwasher and install with haul away and a five year warranty included. Fantastic. read more

When I purchased a new fridge, I compared prices from the big box stores. Hawkins & Sons offered the same or lower prices, but honestly, I would have paid more just for the service. A year later, when it was time to replace my dishwasher, I didn't need to shop around. I went straight to Hawkins & Sons and received the same service. Buyer Beware: They attempted to charge my elderly mother more than she was quoted. She agreed to the $150 service charge and was told that $75 would go towards the purchase of a new washer/dryer from Hawkins if her washer couldn't be repaired. The service tech came and ran the washing machine, determining that the motor was running slow. He told my mother that her machines were old and they would not be able to get parts. He did not look at the dryer, for it was a mute point since the machines were determined to be too old to repair. In conversation he mentioned that he had been working for Hawkins for 1 year and he did not recommend refurbished machines from Hawkins because only the broken parts are fixed but the machine still has other things that could be wrong. Then he left. A $225 charge was put on the credit card. When I called to asked why it was $225 and not $150 as told, I asked to speak to the service manager, a man named Matt. Apparently the additional $75 was charged for looking at the dryer, which was never touched. He acknowledged that my mother should not have been charged $75 for the dryer. He asked for the credit card number and address to refund that overcharge. Had I not called, they would have gotten away with the overcharge. Because she was elderly, they thought they could overcharge her and she would not know any better. I proceeded to ask about purchasing a new set of machines and Matt was less than interested in helping me. He continued to push a set that is over $2,000 and was disinterested because I was asking for a simple set with out all the bells and whistles. I explained that my mother was on a fixed income and needed something less costly. He also told me that it would cost an additional $150 for the delivery/set up. When I questioned the delivery charge in addition to the $150 service call that my mother just paid, he told me "It seems that you are a customer that will never be happy so I'm making a decision not to sell you anything. You no longer have the right to purchase anything from us." Note that I had not once raised my voice, not once used a curse word. I was simply annoying him with questions, apparently. Okay, fine, at this point I wouldn't want to purchase from them anyway. HOWEVER, their original agreement is that a $75 of the service call can go towards a new purchase. So if they are denying me the right to purchase from them, shouldn't they refund me that $75? Seems only fair. Matt also told me that their techs are trained for TWO years before they are allowed to go on calls. That's why their service charge is so much higher than other places. He claimed his techs are superior. However, the tech told my mother he had only been working there a year. At one point in the conversation Matt said to me, "Why isn't your mother calling, why are you?" I told him that I was calling because the charge was on MY credit card. He chuckled and said, "I knew when you gave me an out of state credit card address that your mother didn't pay for it! You're telling me she's on a fixed income and yet you're paying for it!" First of all, my mother doesn't have a credit card so I let her use mine for this and she's reimbursing me when she gets her social security check. Second of all, what kind of company questions the customer on who is paying for something?! When I called back I was connected with Karen Hawkins. She apologized on behalf of Matt's tone with me and acknowledged that they've "had a really bad day" there. I told her that their bad day had nothing to do with me and it doesn't give them the right to take it out on another customer. She agreed, but continued to say that they've just had a lot of disgruntled customers today and it's wearing on them, thus the short temper. Again, why is that a plausible excuse??? In summary: 1. They billed $225 instead of $150, thinking she was elderly and wouldn't notice. 2. They denied me the right to buy from them because they didn't like my pressing questions about new (affordable) machines . 3. Denying me the right to buy from them, they kept the $75 that would go towards a new set of machines. 4. They questioned who was paying for the service call and accused me of lying about my mother being on a fixed income. Would he have spoken to me like that if I were a man calling? The entire conversation was condescending in tone and extremely rude. 5. Karen Hawkins called me back this morning and reiterated that they've decided to not sell me anything new. And they're keeping my $75 that would have gone to a new set of machines. They whole company is shady. Buyer beware. read more

Not sure who reviewed this place...nothing but professionalism from start to finish. I walked into this store after visiting both of the two top box stores...WHERE I WAS COMPLETELY IGNORED...and I was greeted as I walked into the store. Ten minutes later I walked out with what "I" wanted. The install crew came Saturday and within twenty minutes they installed and removed my old dryer...couldn't be nicer. Everyone in the the store as well as the installers couldn't have been more professional. From this point forward I will begin ALL my searches for appliances at Hawkins. Got a new stove/oven from here and then a month later we got a new washer. All the employees were very nice and helpful. A little pricey but that's what happens when you go to a smaller, family owned business rather than Lowe's or something like that. They delivered and installed within a week and were prompt and polite. read more

Not the greatest experience with Hawkins & Sons. Customer service was not what you would expect. Had a hard time with rebates due to the receipt they supplied not indicating the proper model numbers. Then, they did not realize that they had sent me the wrong oven after I tried to install. Then, they asked me to bring back the incorrect oven and pick up the right one, but I told them since it was their mistake, they should swap them out. I went to Hawkins & Sons from a recommendation through a builder, however I cannot offer that recommendation for the future. I hope other customers have a better experience than I did. read more

I had an unusual issue with an appliance I purchased from the UK that I couldn't get to operate. So, I took a chance and stopped in this business hoping they would help me out. Even though I was obviously not there to purchase anything they went out of their way to assist me with my situation. That is the kind of customer service you rarely see anymore. Chose to buy our new JennAir stove from a local, small business. First trip to the business was in June. Told salesman what I was interested in, however, it turned out JennAir was no longer selling the model I wanted. From here the experience went downhill. Salesman kept trying to order a completely different stove for me. It was ridiculous. We were never told we needed an "installation estimate" until we asked about how much was needed for a down payment and that was from a different salesperson because ours was with someone else. Then salesman calls and tells us the price is $400 more because he (again) is trying to order us the wrong model! After order finally gets placed we get a delivery date that's wrong. (We probably could have gotten this range earlier from another company.) Installation was 10/31. Finally we get to installation....that is the absolute best part of our experience with this company! The guys that came to our house--they are brothers--were great! Because of their wonderful service this company got 3 stars. Without them I would have given the company 1 star. What rude folks! I made an appointment three weeks ago. Someone called me, exactly as they had said they would, prior to coming out. I answered. No one at the other end! So I called. I said 'someone called from your office, but when I answered, no one responded back'. The man's sarcastic response, 'that happens sometimes!' So I said, 'well, you called me, so I am wondering how come no one said a word when I answered?' Says he, 'well, you want to argue or give me your name ( this is the first time he asked for my name!') so I can help you?' In the meantime, he has been arguing, smart mouthed somebody to begin with. Really?! Must have gotten off on the wrong side of the bed: I gave him my name, he hangs up on me. I guess that happens too, at Hawkins and Sons! Here is the deal, you folks at Hawkins and Sons: I have something I need fixed, I say 'thank you' and 'please' and make an appointment, I get a call, I guess to confirm; I answer, someone there does not say anything, I call back the same number that had called me, you are rude, accuse me of arguing...then hang up! You have the skills, I would pay you to fix something and I have money to pay you, but I won't put up with this chicken sh-t! Bye! read more

I had a bad experience with Hawkins and Sons. Spent 3 Tuesday's at home waiting for their repairman to repair my dishwasher. After spending 340.00 and much frustration and inconvenience, he apparently didn't know how to repair, 340.00 for nothing. Called National Appliance 8/20, my new dishwasher is being installed Sunday 8/25. Hawkins has poor service and policies in my opinion. read more

Hawkins and Sons sent out a technician to look at a dishwasher. He proceeded to talk politics the whole time stating that he knows he shouldn't be talking about politics. He was unprofessional and took an extended amount of time to determine the problem. He gave us an estimate and ordered a part. We were told the part would arrive in about two weeks and they would call us back to schedule another visit to repair the dishwasher. We waited for a month. We called, they couldn't find record of the visit. We called again, they said they had the part but would call back to schedule a visit. We waited, they didn't call. We called and said we were going with another company. They sent a letter saying they had called us on 4 different occasions. We had no voice mail or record of any calls. We had our dishwasher fixed and moved on with our life. They sent us to collections for an $89 service call, but increased it to $159 so they could get their money's worth. I paid the bill because I don't want a ding on my credit. I would NOT do business with this company. Someone in this office made up a lot of stories to cover their own ass and the technicians were unprofessional. read more

I've used these folks several times for kitchen appliance repairs. They did a nice job all 3 times. They always made 2 trips because they don't carry a lot and f parts. The only downside is that they call the morning of the repair day and give you a time. If they could give a 2 or even 4 hour window that would very helpful. This is a family owned business that knows appliances. We were shopping for a slide in range and were having a hard time finding anyone at local stores to help. Everyone told us that we would never fit a slide in into an existing space with granite counter tops without having someone cut our counter. Even when we found a range we liked at Sears we were told by the gentleman that it would not fit (my husband had all our measurements and thought it would) we said we wanted to order it anyway. After his eye rolling he looked it up in the computer and said no that model was not available. Wow how about taking it off the display floor if you can NOT buy it. We had 3 different sales people at 3 different stores and not one of them knew anything about this stove. Hawkins salesperson knew what he was talking about and answered every question without having to look the answer up. The stove arrived in 3 days and was delivered, installed and the old one removed. Guess what the stove fit perfectly. This is a company with great knowledge a great selection and they repair. We would only go here for new appliances in the future. read more

I purchased a GE washer on 3-18-17, they delivered and installed. They delivery people were rude making comment about my basement. They rushed out without any of my questions answered. I put load in washer and when I returned washer had vibrated so much it was 4 feet away from wall and wash was not spun out. Called Hawkins for assistance and the rude and ignorant call taker finally agreed to send repair person to level washer advising me that if this did not work they would do nothing else and I could cal GE to check they came 2 days later were very rude and ran out. after stating thats all they can do. again washer vibrated to middle of floor. Call GE they showed up the next morning and within 10 seconds found that Hawkins installed the drain pipe on floor when it needs to be elevated to drain in sink next to washer. I wonder if they are not trained properly or did it on purpose. Needless to say Hawkins will never get any more of my business. read more
