I took my 92-year-old mom to Hawley Lane shoes because she was having trouble finding a decent pair that were supportive yet cute. I wanted to have her foot measured so we could get the right size shoe and Hawley Lane advertises on News Channel 12 which I watch all the time so I thought they would be a good choice. Unfortunately, the sales girl was very unhelpful. Although she did measure my mom's foot quickly, she really didn't seem interested in helping us find a good shoe...or in anything at all. It was just very disappointing. We also didn't think the selection of shoes was varied enough. read more

I was recently diagnosed with plantar fasciitis in my left foot. I was unable to put pressure on that foot without being in extreme pain. I left work one day after being there for five minutes - and headed directly to Hawley Lane Shoes. Dean at the Orange store was wonderful! I was evaluated for the proper orthotics, and my shoe size was double-checked. He helped me to select the proper shoes for my foot issue, and provided some helpful information that I didn't even think of asking. These women definitely knew what they were doing, and they had me wearing my orthotics and out the door in under ten minutes. Amy Croteau the Certified Pedorthist is a very sweet and patience salesperson help me find the right one for my foot condition she measure my foot and we tried on a walker type sneaker called PW minor. I wear a AFO on my left ankle and custom insert on the right foot. and also helped me getting the right fit for a New balance sneaker that was not the right size for me. amazing and kind lady and excellent salesperson. my husband and i buy all our shoes there. I oversee and mange a fitness store on High ridge road (Fitness Showrooms of Stamford) I was recently referred a client, Husband and wife both Marathon runners. They both visited my store this past week, and the very first thing I noticed when they stepped into the store was their fancy sneaks Hako One! I knew of Hawley lane shoes years ago when I managed a fitness store in bulls head plaza. So I took a drive to the shoe store. I literley can not find the words of how exceptional my customer experience was. The second I walked in i was enthusiastically greeted by lovely lady named Natalie, who respectfully introduced me to a gentleman named Scott. I have never in my life met such a passionate sales individual. I myself take pride in educating my clients, and providing them with as much knoweldge as possibly can, but when it came to Scott fitting me for Hako One, I was literely speaking to doctor! Scott strongly educated me on facts of a foot that I never ever knew mattered. I couldn't stop smiling the entire time of the shoe fitting, I was absolutely amazed by the knowledge and expertise I was being provided from Scott. My customer experience was beyond expected that I actually returned 3 times, because I had that many concerns and questions. Visited the Stamford store today to buy some nursing shoes for my niece as she returns to nursing school next week. The female manager could not have been more rude and even began arguing with my niece regarding what she needed! A young African American salesperson and older gentle man worked with her as she ended up needing to order the shoes from the Dansko factory and ship the shoes. This woman should either find another line or work or not deal with sales. Her rudeness towards my niece was inexcusable and unwarranted. The company should commend these two male salesmen. R. I had a great experience at this store yesterday buying shoes for my 11 month old. I was helped right away when I walked in, and the sales lady spent a LOT of time with us making sure my son was measured correctly and we tried on seriously all of the shoes they had in stock in his size. They did not have a ton in stock for size 3-4, but they had a number of options that worked well (couple Robeez, one PediPed, couple Stride Rite options). I left very happy and not one tear was shed by my baby during the entire process! read more

This is an amazing store with a wide variety of shoes in my size range and for my special needs. Help is friendly and return policies are liberal. Nordstrom's used to be my only option but Hawley Lane has replaced them. But In addition to the wide variety of choices and fair prices, their greatest asset is their shoe specialist....Scott. He is one of the most remarkable professionals I've ever worked with. He knows feet and understands the complex issue of fit. Not only can he diagnose the subtle problem, he has the ability to perfectly adjust the fit to conform to different parts of my foot. I feel like a queen when consulting with him. He just gets the point! We are lucky to have these stores in Fairfield county. My one suggestion is to more fully train your other people to take care of special needs. ...Clone Scott! read more

I have shopped in Hawley Lane several times recently and am more impressed each time. With the help of Ayrica I was able to find four pairs of fashionable shoes that addressed my foot pain. She was knowledgeable and extremely professional. While I was shopping, Ayrica was helping a gentleman that was very difficult. When it comes to shoes, I like trying them on before buying them (especially when buying new brands). I don't like buying them online and then returning them if they don't fit. I walked in there thinking I was going to get the "professional fitting" they brag about on their TV commercial. The girl looked at me like I had 3 heads! She had no idea what I was talking about. Then, I had heard that the New Balance 928 sneaker that my Podiatrist recommended I wear, was being discontinued. She had no info on what I should replace it with. UM, thanks for nothing. I went home, went online to New Balance and chatted with a representative. They said the 928 was being replaced with a remodeled 928V2. Guess where I bought my sneakers. Yes, directly at New Balance online. That was the first & only time I will ever go into Hawley Lane Shoes! read more

horrible customer service. first off.. woman who measured my feet told me i was a 9.5...when all my adult life i have been wearing 8.5. i'm a waitress and needed very good shoes as i am on my feet 8-12 hours a shift 6 shifts a week and already have bad feet from bad bunions and from doing this line of work for 15 years. i figured okay maybe my bunions grew or my feet swelled ... i'll trust her and get the 9.5 and even said i'm going to walk around my house and may return them if they feel too big she said okay. in i walk the following week (i live in new york -- drove all the way here because i saw they had good brands) and was told they are worn and they can't take them back. these sneakers were like 200 dollars or something insane plus i got the 80 dollar in-souls from that machine thing. was told to sell them on ebay. all i did was wear them around my house for 15 minutes and realized my feet are swimming in them --- why couldn't the woman helping me realize that before i bought 200 dollar sneakers that were too big. these sneakers did not look worn at all. i don't know how to f****** use ebay. they really know how to treat their customers like sh*t thats for sure. blacklisted. read more
