We recently got hit by another car (everyone was ok, thx for asking) and our insurance rep recommended Haws. We took our car here and we were amazed at the level of service and professionalism. In particular, Leah was amazing at communicating with us throughout the process. She also coordinated with both insurance companies to make sure the deductible and everything would be paid and we could get our car back asap. This Lafayette repair shop did a solid, professional job taking care of my burglarized SUV. They had the supply connections to bring in the replacement window same day. They completed the work in a timely manner at a reasonable cost. They offered to get me back to the shop via shuttle service. Found my car looking shiny and new with all the glass shards removed. Excellent location right next to the parking lot for the over-the-top public library in downtown Lafayette. Bonus points for one of their employees had played drums with my brother decades ago. I brought my car in for self-paid repairs and the initial estimate seemed affordable so I chose to move forward. Thereafter the shop 'found' additional work required. This was at the onset of COVID-19. The original quote must have been grossly underestimated. The new estimate was twice the original quote. I still proceeded. I was away and needed to pay for the repairs over the phone and have the vehicle delivered to my nearby residence. When I finally return to see the car, the completed work looked bad. Body parts were noticeably mis-aligned and specific instructions which I requested of the shop were not followed. They failed to replace the OEM headlamp bulbs with the high intensity ones I had previously installed. All in all, I am rather dissatisfied and do not plan on being a returning customer. read more

Brought the car in due to a mouse infestation which turned out to be even worse than we thought. Mike and his team gave us good advice from the start and handled everything professionally with the insurance. They essentially took the car apart, cleaned it, ordered spare parts and rebuilt it. My 2018 Honda Pilot EX-L was recently stolen and then recovered a couple days later 50 miles away where the thieves had smoked cigars, cigarettes, and weed, spilled beer on the seats and floor mats, and generally trashed the interior. It smelled soooo bad. I took the car to Haws for detailing (my first time there), and they seriously got the car looking absolutely as good as new. They were friendly and professional throughout, a real pleasure to work with. I didn't think the smells could be gotten out, but literally the car was like new. We immediately took my wife's car there, a 2013 Lexus 450h that probably hadn't been detailed in 5 years, and they got her car looking good as new also. My wife has very detailed tastes, and the Haws crew made sure she was 100% happy. This is a totally trustworthy business who does great work at a good price. I went in and wanted to see about an estimate for some work before I sell my car. I think her name was Leah...was SO kind to me, looked at all the damage, assessed the work needed, and told me flat out that it wasn't worth her company fixing the car. She looked up Kelly Blue Book prices and even emailed me a craigslist ad for a comparable car, and basically gave me awesome advice for half an hour, free of charge. I was shocked. If I could give Haw's Plaza Auto 10 Stars, I would do it without question because they deserve it. A month ago, I was involved in a fairly substantial accident in which I was rear-ended and pushed into the car in front by a texting driver while I was stopped at a traffic light. Despite the obvious liability, the insurance companies have done nothing but give me the run around. Leah and Haw's have been the only honest and straightforward parties with which I have dealt--I cannot give Leah any higher praise. She has been amazing at coordinating the insurance companies' 3rd party estimators and providing accurate, direct and honest information about the damage to the vehicle which has allowed me to deal with the insurance companies that are doing nothing. It is so refreshing and rare to find a business that actually cares about not only the quality of its work, but also the quality of its customer service. My son had his new car just 3 weeks and opened the drivers door into an oncoming car. No one was hurt but sheesh. State Farm recommended Haws and they were the first quote we got. Greg was incredibly helpful on how to minimize the cost and options. We landed on getting a replacement door the same color from a wreck being parted out. Took a few weeks to find the door and once we had it we had the car back in 48 hours. And it was 1/2 of the price of Mikes Auto Body also in Lafayette who were only interested in using 100% new parts and the premium paid through the insurance claims.
