Tucked away near the serene spa tower at The Resort @ Summerlin/ JW Marriott. Luis our waiter was friendly and attentive. Unfortunately the day we went, Hawthorn Grill didn't have the Porterhouse so we opted for the Bone In Ribeye. The Bone In Ribeye was sliced for sharing, but came out a bit over cooked as we asked for medium. It was a bit more on the medium well side. The Baked Red King Crab Cake was packed with lots of crab meat. The Fully Loaded Potato was split in half for us. Even with the split, it was more than for two people to share. The Creamed Spinach has nutmeg with gives it a strange flavor for me. The Exotic Mushroom Dish had 3 different types of mushrooms. We visited this restaurant earlier today and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. The hostess, Savannah, seated us at our table. A bowl of bread was dropped off, but after that, we were completely ignored. We sat there for approximately 20 minutes without being acknowledged by any server. During that time, two or three waiters were actively bringing food to tables around us, yet no one stopped by our table--not even to take a drink order or simply acknowledge that we were there. After waiting patiently and receiving no service whatsoever, we finally got up and left. As we were leaving, we saw Savannah, the hostess who had seated us, and explained that we were unhappy with the service. Her reaction, along with the chef she was speaking with, appeared to be one of shock, but neither of them offered an apology, an explanation, or any attempt to address the situation. Being overlooked for 20 minutes and then leaving without anyone seeming concerned about the lack of service was extremely disappointing. We understand that restaurants can get busy, but completely failing to acknowledge a seated customer is unacceptable. Unfortunately, based on this experience, we would not return. read more

I came here yesterday, Saturday, for happy hour with two of my best friends to celebrate a fun bday happy hour for me. We sat at the bar and were served by Byrd and Desiree, both of whom are AMAZING bartenders and everything overall. Desiree made most of our drinks- by far, the BEST, bartender and drinks we have EVER had!! One of my besties and I love Sidecars, and even though it's not on the menu, she made it AMAZINGLY, even better than the best typical Sidecar ever! She did a sugar and spice rim, it definitely changed the drink for the better and made it unique. Even the twirled orange peel was the best orange peel twist I've had! Haha Desiree for sure knows her stuff front to back upside down and all around when it comes to drinks!!! Byrd was very attentive as well and quick to serve us and make sure we were taken care of. I had to check out the new daily happy hour from 4-7. I don't recall their hh ever being until 7. The bar was almost full and there were a few tables occupied near the bar. The menu contains a nice variety of specialty cocktails for half price and and appetizers such as meatball sliders, charcuterie and tuna tacos. I was considering the hh burger, but the $16 price seems too much for hh. The $7 meatball sliders were very good! I also had a glass of white sangria, which was very tasty and a good hh price for $7. Hawthorn Grill is located in the JW Marriott and it's an expansive property. The patio we sat at for a cocktail was beautiful and there are usually Koi fish and ducks in the flowing water channels. I went with the filet mignon cooked medium rare, and it was executed perfectly--tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The Caesar salad was crisp and refreshing, while the fries arrived piping hot and satisfying. The only miss for me was the mac and cheese, which turned out a bit too runny and lacked the creamy richness I was hoping for. My husband and I came here for dinner while we were in town for a soccer tournament. It was convenient because it was right in our hotel lobby. We made a reservation for 8:30. We were greeted right away when we got there and sat. Our server greeted us right and offered us water and took our drink order. They brought us a basket of bread right away. My husband ordered the chicken with mushrooms and mashed potatoes and I ordered the 8 oz filet cooked medium rare done Oscar style which was crab, a hollandaise type sauce and asparagus spears . We also ordered the brussel sprouts and loaded potato to share. My steak came out perfect!! It was tender and medium rare. The crab and sauce that came on it was so flavorful and delicious. My husband's chicken came out hot and fresh and cooked perfectly. The brussel sprouts were fresh and grilled so they were a little crispy on the outside which was perfect! For dessert we ordered the coconut pie. That was also flavorful. Came out as a piece of banana pie with little dollops of coconut creamy goodness on top. Our server Elkin was great and the other people that helped us out were super friendly and helpful too. We had a nice quiet meal. We didn't have kids with but it seemed like it is kid and family friendly as there were a couple of other groups in there that did have kids with them. We would recommend this place. Last day in Vegas...ready to be home. After gala last night, I slept in. Maybe a tiny bit excessive partying last night (no...not possible). Many people have convicted me that sunny side eggs were the way to go. Raw running eggs...how about no! I put them in the same category as oysters on the half shell. While I've tried both because I think it's important to expand your culinary experiences, not a fan of either. My server, Ashley, quickly took my order. Ashley was attentive and focused on customer service. Hawthorne is nestled in tropical paradise on the JW Marriott property. As I look out my window, I see a sea of greenery - tall inviting palm trees, short stubby trees that fan out or those overgrown bushes? In either case, they are absolutely beautiful. Water slowly caress the rocks and slowly fall into the pond. There's nothing like the waterfall sound...captivating and intoxicating. Paradise at breakfast...ambience and service was 5/5. Now for my avacado toast, it was delicious. The multigrain bread was nicely toasted. An improvement would be less egg and more avocado, afterall it is called avocado toast for a reason. Had the prime rib dinner last week. The prime rib was amazing in the French onion soup was incredible. The only thing that was really lacking about experience was the service is because it took around 15-20 minutes for the server to come to us and when we got the dessert, we a dessert and a server told us there was no coffee in the kitchen right now, so brought us a different dessert that we didn't order. Dined last Thursday at Hawthorn Grill for dinner with friends. Had the fixed price meal, salad was good but the butcher cut steak was tough. would not recommend. I paid the bill and then notice a week later that I was incorrectly billed more than the check amount. the restaurant manager seemed to be confused as I used casino credit to pay part of the bill. You can sit in the lounge, bar or outdoor patio for happy hour. It's great to catch a NFL game and enjoy some great drinks. Their speciality cocktails are half off which is a great deal. This is inside the JW Marriott in Summerlin. The ambiance here is really nice. The food pretty decent for a hotel restaurant. It was a day they were short staffed and no fault of their own. Ashley was great. We came for breakfast which is 7-11am. I had Your Way breakfast that was $23 and husband had All-American for $26. He was able to substitute the bacon (which he cannot have due to health issues) for turkey bacon. We both had over easy. The hash brown is good. It's like a scoop of it rather than flat. Still crisp enough. This is our second time here and we will be back since we are regulars at this hotel. read more

The background music is conversation friendly. Upon being seated we received a bowl of complementary popcorn. We ordered the charcuterie board and the meatball sliders (2 to an order). Both items are large enough for two people. Service from Ashley was timely and food delivery quick. The prices are reasonable considering their located in a resort/hotel. Came here after being at the rampart casino and I was pleasantly surprised with how good it was compared to what the reviews say. The atmosphere is fine dining but also with a casual atmosphere. We went for happy hour at the bar and it was nice setting with friendly bar staff. We got the cocktails and they were quite nice. The food here was also pretty good too. I would say not for happy hour, the price is a little high for what you get in comparison. Also, the vegetarian entree does need some work as it's a pretty small portion. Overall, I would say this is a good spot if you are at JW Marriott or Rampart Casino. read more

Tasted like it was frozen too long, kinda like the ones they serve at the buffet in Hawaiian night. Our server and busser was excellent, friendly and attentive. I frequent this restaurant with my mom for happy hour and it has been a few years now. Every time it is just to die for. My mom and I on our most recent visit decided on some HH house Cabernet, a wedge salad, roasted Brussel sprouts and of course cannot come here without getting their filet Mignon. The service is always great. We sat in the bar area and enjoyed the festive ambiance. I love that they serve popcorn before your meal just as a little snack.
