Today I got a call that the price had been increased and when I questioned it, I was told to come and get my rug. I have heard other people have had problems with the owners here, but I personally had always had a great experience. I am so very disappointed. It wasn't just a little increase, it was over 30%. I understand everything is costing a little more today, but I did feel that was extreme. I also feel as a customer we have a right to question and voice our complaint/concern, but apparently not here. **The owners reply if full of false statements: I did not raise my voice or get upset with the clerk that called me. So I was surprised when she called me back and said the owner would like me to come get my rug. *I did not brow beat the employee, I was nice to her, I asked her when this was increased because I come all the time. I came right away to get my rug. Had there been some offer to work with the price discrepancy I would still be a customer today. *I never said it was price gouging, I have a right to be upset with a huge increase. I then agreed to do it this time but was not sure if I'd be back. * The owner is the one who said I should come get it because he was not comfortable completing the job. As you see from his reply, he's not the nice man I thought he was. And that's sad.

Before going further I may very well visit this laundromat during late morning to actually visit staff so can show cellphone photos that YELP might not allow to be posted. The central theme of this review might revolve around a hypothetical statement as such: " Hello Sir, my name is Jon Doe, and I work here. I am just wanting to let you know that last was typically is no later than 8:30pm, yet if you feel that you may be able to finish by ten o' clock pm, there should be no problems; have a good day. For good measure also, hypothetically displaying a name badge and or PRESENTABLE attire and or store 'garb' that says ' Wheaton Super Wash Laundry'. Instead, I was confronted by an individual who just confronted me in an accusational manner stipulating how it was after 8:30pm and you cant start your laundry endeavors. After a little back and forth and threats to call the police as well I pointing to the fact that there had been individuals who were starting their laundry tasks while I was interacting with this laundry staff. I would like to state that it was ONLY after seeing this individual with a yellow mop bucket and mop as he was (half heartedly) mopping the floor that I surmised that this individual worked here and that at that point I was going to write this here review. Before closing I would like to make a couple points that I do hope the store management owners will address. First off, as an important FYI, the actual time I attempted to start my laundry was 8:34pm. Secondly, this individual had no problems allowing other individuals to start their laundry tasks thereafter. Thirdly, as alluded to in previous paragraph, I was a bit defensive at first for there was this ill-mannered (for better lack of words) man in lethargic looking jacket, headphones/IPad, grungy ripped sweatpants and shoes that looked like they were about to fall apart. I do not know about you readers yet FIRST IMPRESSIONS ARE EVERYTHING! For all I knew, initially, this was here a homeless or destitute individual going about trying to solicit change from laundromat customers. It is again my hope that someone looks into this matter. Oh lest I forget in a LOL moment, despite having started my laundry endeavors at 8:35pm, I finished my laundry tasks (both wash and 30 minute dry cycle at 9:30pm...well before 10pm closing time.

I quickly noticed and told the front desk who directed me to leave it there and I'd receive a call from the Manager or Owner. Time went by... and you guessed it, NO CALL. Today I remembered to give them a call about my damaged item. I was again told the owner would call me. This time he did. We talked for twenty minutes and got absolutely nowhere. His equipment damaged my shirt and he told me it must have been normal wear and tear while in their possession. He noted this was his conclusion as he noticed wear and tear in two other spots. DISCLAIMER-- there was NO OTHER wear and tear. I told him this wouldn't fly with me and as a fellow business owner he should do the right thing, I even offered to meet him at half the price of my now ruined polo. He said this was essentially the chance we take going to his dry cleaners.. please note that anyone potentially deciding between this location and LOMBARD -- LOMBARD HAS DIFFERENT OWNER AND TOLD ME HE'D never do this to a customer). The owner proceeded to tell me I was even lucky the shirt was still there as I hadn't picked up in 30 days and he should have donated it. Yes, it was tough for me to get there as my wife was in the hospital for two months. In conclusion, I didn't have any issues with this location prior, the women who work there are nice, never actually met the owner, this all occurred via the phone. However, I disagree with the owner's style and if this is how he treats folks just beware when deciding where to go. At worst I would have accepted $50 (the polo was likely triple). He couldn't even do that. Oh and then when I asked how I file a claim, he told me he would not let me.. what sort of business does that? It's principle now, no one in my family or friends circle will ever utilize them again. A shame that a business man doesn't realize doing the right thing would in fact have continued to make him more money. The End. Goodbye Glen Ellyn location. Unless they do the right thing in which case I would remove this post. (If possible). Since we are eating at India Palace (which is in the same plaza) anyway, we brought a laundry basket of wet clothes to throw in the dryer to dry while we have lunch. I have not used a laundromat in over 3 decades, so I cannot comment on prices. This place is very clean and nice, lots of machines but lots of customers as well. Came back to this place because I like that I do not need cash - just load a card worn your credit or debit - Super convenient. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they remodeled, new floors, counters, and machines. Clean, all machines in order, and a live person working to make sure things go well. The bathroom is reserved, under lock (conveniently opens with the card), for customers so it is clean. Will be back next year.

I have brought costume items in and they have even helped me sort them and put them in chronological order (each costume is numbered). They are an asset to the community.
