I dropped off a sweater and a few other items to be dry cleaned. The other items came back fine. However one of my sweaters was ruined. The sweater was only worn once and was soft with no piling when I dropped it off. When I got it back the fabric was piling and falling apart. It wasn't a great quality sweater but when I returned to show them what I found I was told that it was my fault for buying polyester instead of wool and that it would have fallen apart at some point anyways so it's not their fault. Needless to say I left absolutely shocked. As a professional dry cleaning service they know fabric and if you know a fabric can't handle a service why would you continue to service it with risk of ruining it. The professionalism and customer service deserves 0/10. read more

I wish I could give them 10 stars. First off -- for those reviewers below that say that they're "expensive" -- remember, you get EXACTLY what you pay for. I will boldly claim that out of everyone on this review list, I have been to more cleaners that you even realize are in our state. I own a vintage shop and clean ALL of my vintage clothing, including furs and other pieces (like hats) and Steve is absolutely the best cleaner I have been to. I bring this guy between $200 and $600 dollars worth of cleaning every month. With that said, there's a reason he gets my hard earned dollars. He doesn't overload his machines, which means your clothes are actually getting agitated the way they should. He doesn't mix colors -- meaning that the machine gets navy with navy, grey with grey, black with black, and you will not get back dingy or color tainted garments. He color fast tests EVERYTHING to ensure there is no color bleed. The bottom line -- if you want your clothes to actually come back clean, then pay a little extra for the hard work and diligence that this dry-cleaner provides its customers. If you have an ounce of sense in you, you will SMELL the difference. read more

Walked in with a shirt that needed to be cleaned and repaired. Every other place said it would take a couple days. The gentleman behind the counter took it and said it would be ready later that day, he was right. Looks great and was only 7$. I go to two separate cleaners. One at home and one at work. I once made the mistake of bringing it to another cleaners and they damaged my clothes. All because i wanted to safe a few dollars. Never again. I did ask the gentleman here for a discount but he graciously told me he couldn't do that. I was obviously disappointed, but his explanation was one i never heard before but made total sense. He said lots of other cleaners will offer a discount, but at what cost? He believed the moment you ask for a cheaper price, is the moment when the cleaning process becomes cheaper. Lots of times others will not put as much time cleaning a garment because in his mind, you already paid a discounted price. So he told me, "i can't give you a discount but i can guarantee the quality, the effort, and the high expectation you would expect from a great cleaners. He's always kept his promise :) read more

My family has gone here forever to get our clothes cleaned. Wheaton One Hour Cleaners is owned by a lovely couple who also own the One Hour Cleaners located right next to the College Avenue train station. Regardless of where you prefer to drop-off/pick-up, the clothes are transported and cleaned at this location. I love that even though I rarely go in there, they know who I am and who my parents are (my parents frequent this cleaners). In addition to have gracious personalities, they are perfectionists - something I think is imperative when handling my nicest clothes. The owners go the extra mile to make certain that your clothes are perfect when you pick them up. Their tailoring service is top notch as well. I am always smiling when I leave this cleaners because in addition to being great at what they do, the owners and their employees are so so kind and gracious! Don't call your store "one hour cleaners" if you don't actually provide service in one hour. I called three hours before they closed and she said it was too late! She kept just repeating "one hour cleaners is just the name of the store"...so maybe they shouldn't call themselves something they are not. The girl who answered the phone was rude and laughed at me. I took my favorite pair of jeans to another tailor shop to fix the bottom cuffs which were all frayed from being stepped on. They said they wouldn't be able to fix them and I should just throw them out. When I took them to Wheaton One Hour Cleaners & Tailors he did everything I asked for a reasonable price in just a few days. I came back with other clothing items and he fixed them perfectly. This place is 50 to 100% more expensive than any cleaners I have used in my life. My brother-in-law manages a dry cleaners in an expensive part of the city and his prices are less. I went here based on reviews here, what a mistake. If I'd of noticed the prices on my receipt I'd of grabbed my clothes and left. I don't know how they stay in business. read more

Be careful when you use their tailoring service. I got them to alter a suit for me. They gave me an initial cost. When I came to pick up, the cost was significantly higher and they told me they had to do more work and required me to pay them more. I was upset because they did not call to notify me or more work or higher cost. They were rude and argumentative with me when I asked them to own up to it. I don't recommend them for that at all. Dress was brought up about 4 inches and brought in about an inch underneath each arm. We were quoted $34 for the work and charged $60 for alterations to a $50 dollar dress to be worn on our wedding day. Alterations were amateur quality at best and far below acceptable for presentation at the wedding on the 15th. It seems they were not able to sew 2 straight parallel lines on the hem of the dress and the underarm alterations looked like a home economics project. Definitely not worth the $60 we paid. Not worth anything in my opinion. Turn-around for the work was 24 hours but the quality was unacceptable. I clearly informed them that the dress will be used for our wedding day for added quality confidence, but that had no affect on the subpar end result. If they couldn't do professional work, I would have appreciated a phone call first before gauged for professional prices on amateur work. My wife is still very upset about the chop job done to her wedding dress. Upon calling them and clearly explaining my complaint, including the fact that my wife was extremely dissatisfied with the dress on her wedding day, I requested a full refund for the work done to the dress. They denied a refund but offered to have me bring the dress in to "fix it". Pointless offer as the wedding day passed and we cannot rewind the clock to hope for a quality result on our wedding day. I said there is no way on earth we would allow them to touch the dress again in any case. Who would let them touch it again after witnessing the first disaster they call "tailoring"? I told them after experiencing their amateur work, I would never return to their store, even for a purposed "fix". Damage was done and their opportunity to professionally remedy the situation passed as well, which is why I am posting this experience. I told them clearly, either they compensate us for this shoddy work or I will ensure the public knows about this experience. Note about the phone call: During the phone call, I was passed to a "manager" and this so-called"manager" denied my refund and said someone would call me. The lady who did the work on my dress called me from a private number and left a message. I attempted to call back and have received no response to date. Had they handled this complaint professionally and held themselves accountable for their poor quality of work, they could have avoided the revenue loss that they will surely experience from this negative review. Lesson learned on both ends! As a cleaning service they seem competent. As a tailor of anything beyond hemming pant leggings, AVOID!!! read more

We took our sons suit to the dry cleaners to be cleaned for his college graduation, and when w picked it up there was hole in the suit pants and they claimed it was there when we brought it in. The suit had only been worn once, for a funeral. He has two tuxedos, because he sang in the college choir, and we never had a problem with getting the tuxedos cleaned. Now I have to go out and buy new pants for his graduation which is in 4 days! I will never go back to them again, they said they did not do it, but they could fix it for $8. No way am I going to pay you for something you should of fixed in the first place. Don't lie, just say your sorry! read more
