Run away. I do not recommend Hawx Pest Control. They promise comprehensive pest control services as part of the service contract, but the company fails to deliver what was agreed upon. Scheduled monthly treatments were either rushed or skipped entirely. Services that were clearly outlined in the contract were not performed. If you're considering signing a contract with them, I strongly suggest reading the fine print and being prepared for subpar follow-through and service. You enter into a contract for premium service but receive the bare minimum--if at all. Save yourself the frustration and look elsewhere. read more

We were to receive general services and were told this would include video of the service. They did that once. after that I only got texts telling me the service was complete. I just received a text saying Elijah serviced my home & to rate him. Since there is no Elijah & he didn't service my home, one star is too many. Oh, BTW, I was charged for service Sept. 7th, but that didn't happen either. Don't book through anyone calling on behalf this company either. it's a scam. Angel tried to lock me into a termite treatment contract before they had even come to inspect to see if we needed treatment. She lied saying I needed to update my general services before they raised my rate and I should just sign the text while she was looking into booking the termite inspection. She left me on hold waiting for me to send the signed agreement. I suppose since I am older she thought I was an easy target. When I realized she was going to leave me on hold until I signed the agreement, I hung up. She called twice, texted and emailed me trying to get me to sign. I would not take her calls or respond to anything she sent, but I did start asking questions. I asked for a supervisor and instead was given an 800 number to call for complex issues. I didn't say there was an issue at all. I simply asked for a supervisor. Obviously, they knew what had just occurred and didn't want to bother giving me a voice because there would be no correction since, this is their normal practice. At this point I started investigating and that is when I discovered the charges each month, most without a service being performed. Shame on Hawx corporate for playing games. Now my local service tech is Kobe. He is amazing. I will never deal with anyone else at Hawx and that is the shame in all of this. They provide such a good service, reasonably priced, and quality products. Why must they scam? Check yourself Hawx Smart Pest Control! At first this seemed like a good pest control company, but then they never came when they said they did and I had to call several times to have them actually come out At the end of my 12 month agreement which went from July 2023 to June 2024 I was still charged again in July The lady told me my agreement was for 12 months I said yes and they sent me a contract that shows the months of payments and which months they would service it was July to June Then an automated system calls to ask if I wanted to continue service i declined all 3 times I was told that I started my contract over again I never gave them permission I never spoke to a human person about this I will.never recommend this company unless you want a one time use and never do a contract they will steal your money read more

If there was an option for ZERO stars i would rate that. Our experience has been HORRIBLE with HAWX. The door to door salesperson painted a picture of an attentive comprehensive pest control company--they have been anything but this. First they created two accounts for us creating confusion. Then the technician on our first left not just one but two of our gates wide open and our dog ran away---luckily I was able to find her before she tried crossing a busy street. After reporting this to our sales person we were supposed to hear from a Manager -- never happened. Fast forward to this week when we were to have our mosquito treatment - beside the fact that the kid they sent had a really bad nervous twitch - he was here for an hour but never used the fogger to treat for mosquitos - when I asked why he told me his fogger was broken (so why come and try to do the service ??!!??) he told me he could spray all of our non-flowering plants but cannot spray the flowering plants due to their chemicals being harmful to bees. Another thing that we specifically asked the salesperson since we have over 50 flowers plants around our property to help the bee population. Again I reached out to our salesperson "Bruno" since he said he was our "go to person" for any issues -- 48 hours later we have not heard a thing. Now I am on the phone to cancel the account and am being told that I am not only being charged a $199 cancellation fee, but a $199 fee for EACH service (so $398) . Needless to say this is very frustrating. I am now waiting for a call from the elusive "manager" to find a "solution." In short -- go with Rottler and Mosquito Hunter if you are in St Louis UPDATE- I was finally able to find a phone number listing for the St Louis office BUT that phone number connects back to their corporate call center -- where I was told that there is no way to contact the local office ??!!?? Giant scamming business. Will go door to door and tell you your neighbors use them when in reality they don't. They say they'll do this and this just to get a sale. They don't tell you the context you're signing is for 12 months not month to month and if you want to cancel before the 12 months is up it's a cancellation fee of $200+. When you go to cancel they will argue with you to try and keep you no matter how many times you tell them you want to cancel. Customer service seems very unprofessional. read more

Very dishonest outline of the terms of agreement. It was communicated several time that there is no automatic renewal of services after one year, however I am held responsible for not calling to cancel after 1 year. After an identity theft issue the credit card on file was cancelled a couple months after the 1 year mark but Hawx claims I owe monthly fees plus late fees for the past five months because they were not able to charge the canceled card. During those five months, no service technician was sent to treat my property for pest control, Hawx claims a technician wasn't sent because they weren't able to charge my card but now they want me to pay for five months of service that didn't happen plus late fees. I asked if they could at least negotiate the price so we could wrap this up and end it and they said they could only negotiate my balance if I continue to keep service with Hawx otherwise I would have to pay the full amount. read more

There should be a lower than one start review rating. In august the company made three appointments to come to my home and were no shows for all three appointments. The second two appointments were made after I called to complain about the first "no show". A manager finally called me only after I wrote a google review. He told me that he was "easy going and didn't consider three failed no show appointments anything for me to be upset about and reminded me I signed a contract for Services. They obviously have a horrible, automated scheduling system and don't track contracts for any "missed billing or service". DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. WON'T BE USING THEM NEX YEAR. We received our treatment for fleas tick and mosquitoes yesterday and are very happy. We added this service last year and have not had any issues with fleas or ticks on our do or outdoor cats. Matthew arrived about 9:30. James had texted us the day before Matthew arrived to inquire if we wanted rodent bait boxes. We don't feel we have a rodent problem, so we said no to these but appreciated the text. He also said we would get a 30-minute call ahead, which we did not get and Matthew said he was not aware of. Normally our large dog is here and we appreciate getting that call-ahead so that we can put her outside. Luckily she was not here yesterday. Matthew was very friendly and asked where I wanted him to spray. I told him I had put items up/lights on/doors open on all 3 floors where we needed him to get to, especially basement where we see centipedes occasionally. I did not follow him around, I'm hoping he got to these areas. As I said, he was friendly and courteous, was here about 30 minutes or so. We have 2 cats that I put in a bathroom with the door shut, he did not go in there as I asked him not to. Overall a very nice young man. read more

I am a current customer and they are harassing me with marketing calls for additional services . They called my cell phone seven times yesterday without leaving a message and I finally had to answer to make them stop. Then this morning, they already called twice, hanging up when I answered the second time. So I called back after the second call today and asked to cancel my services and was told that I signed a one year contract and if I cancel early, it is a $199 cancellation fee. And the lady I spoke to was rude, saying, "well I wasn't the one who called you." Additionally, they harass you with texts after service is performed, telling you that you have to rate your technician making you feel like if you don't rate the service well, they will lose their job or not get a raise or something. I feel very uncomfortable using this company, but if I don't continue through May 2025, I have to pay! Plus, I can't even say the service is good. Stay away from this business. read more

Their solicitors hit my subdivision today with many many salesman that were extremely aggressive, rude and at one point threatening to the members in my HOA. We felt bad enough that we called Madison County Sheriff's and had them scored it out and within 15 minutes they were all back again as soon as Madison county left, the word is out on this company and people are furious. If they continue to do this I'm afraid that they're going to be met with very hostile members our HOA. read more
