Super impressed with this new Springfield spot from the AYCE options to the quick & friendly service. We have friends who live nearby so we made the little trek up on a Tuesday evening to grab dinner with them. The restaurant wasn't busy at all and we practically had the place to ourselves. The AYCE options expand from the kitchen to the freshly made sushi and we ordered a bit of everything. I really enjoyed their Crab Rangoons and the Gyoza from the kitchen side! We must have tried each of their special rolls and I think my favorites were the Shaggy Dog, Surf & Turf, Kiss of Fire and Spicy Lady (can you tell we like spicy rolls?) I was a bit bummed they didn't have any rolls with mango or a classic Godzilla roll (spicy tuna w/ avocado) but their options were all quite good and very unique! The service was the fastest we've received at an AYCE - this was a huge plus. Maybe it was because it was a Tuesday, but was a happy surprise nonetheless! $30pp is not a bad price for dinner AYCE and they even serve cocktails! We will definitely be back! PS: bring back the tempura bananas for dessert!

This is such a great value for great food! Pay one flat fee to have unlimited acess to sushi, sashimi, hibachi and more! Service and ambiance are both very pleasant for sure, but the highlight is definitely the delicious cuisine!

Impeccable interior, high-quality sushi, amazing service. This place is put together with such attention to both quality and detail. The sweet potato rolls here are incredible! The perfect consistency, and they are very well-made! I almost didn't take their picture because they were just too delicious and I was too busy enjoying it. The seaweed salad is also amazing. You have to go here!!! Did I mention that the miso soup is also great?

I went for the soft opening on Saturday at lunch. Pricing wise - it's Dinner prices on the weekend so $29.99, during the week at lunch it's only $19.99. Currently 10% for soft opening through the end of the month Menu is slightly smaller at lunch time. For their soft opening, having only been open less than 2 hours by the time we arrived, it was a great experience! The menu is vast, much bigger than all other AYCE sushi places we've been to in CT. There is a good selection of salads/soups, appetizers, sushi, sashimi, hand rolls, maki rolls, and specialty sushi rolls, plus they have some stir fry items as well - fried rice, hibachi and even some robata items. Considering it's ordering and not a traditional buffet, service is decent, maybe 10-15 for our first sushi order - we've been to other restaurants where it takes 30-40 minutes for our first order. This was not the case - again still soft opening so going through some growing pains but overall they were so nice and accommodating! Service will only get better with time as they find their groove. As for the food - I can't even tell you how good and fresh everything was. The quality of fish is top notch, the amount of fish to rice ratio is pretty amazing too. The appetizers and fried rice/hibachi we had were all piping hot and very tasty! We didn't have anything we didn't love and we absolutely will be back (probably as early as this weekend lol). So glad to have a high quality fresh AYCE sushi restaurant closer to us in Northern CT. We only took a couple of pictures, we got too excited to dig in - so we will take more pics next time!

Such a great new spot located in the Springfield area. For one set price you can enjoy all you can eat sushi, sashimi, hibachi, and traditional Japanese appetizers. Come hungry and with friends, ask for the sushi boat, it's stunning and will make any dinning experience magical. Here's everything my sister and I got to try Gyoza Coconut shrimp Crab Rangoons Spicy kani salad Shrimp Udon noodles Cucumber roll Avocado roll Sweet potato roll Volcano roll Shaggy dog roll Surf n turf roll Orange dragon roll There's an area in the back where you can go and watch the sushi being made which is really cool. Staff was more than helpful with selection and recommendations.

Great experience. Kind and attentive servers. Food was delicious and everything was fresh. You can also have unlimited appetizers, rice/noodles, desserts and hibachi. Booths are comfortable and semi-private which was nice. Will definitely come here again. Highly recommend the coconut shrimp, Tiger eye roll and the Haya roll. The tempura banana dessert was my favorite!

The food was very fresh and delicious, I jus wish there were more portions to the fresh fish they gave us. The service was fast and kind and lastly I was a very big fan of the ambiance, to me the room felt lively and I like the set up of booths.

Their sushi and rolls are great! Also I like their beef hibachi a lot. The staff is nice, and there is enough space for group gatherings.

I really enjoyed the half soft-boiled egg in the shio ramen as well as the enormous quantity of noodles, but there wasn't a ton of flavor in the dish. The chicken hibachi had great sauce and decent noodles, but the meat was dry and felt overcooked. The caterpillar roll surprised me since it was tuna-based, rather than the eel that is typical for that name. None of the dishes stood out as exceptional. The service was quite interesting. I did appreciate the water service - the server came around early on yo offer refills. Then about midway through the meal, she asked if we wanted leftovers boxed up. I wasn't too hungry so I was fine with take home the leftovers, although the timing felt a bit early to me. I couldn't tell if that was because it was just after 8 PM and they were trying to close up soon (advertised closing time of 8:30 PM), but there were still plenty of other tables with diners. The bill came with a mandatory 18% tip for our group of 5.

Nearly everything that's been ordered from myself or someone else I've gone with has been yummy. My eight year old absolutely loved the beef hibachi and if it were up to her, she'd eat it every night. If recalling correctly, the only food item I've ever not been thrilled about was their tteokbokki. Normally they have a little kick to them and Kansai's was very sweet. Still enjoyed the dish but I do wish it wasn't as sweet. Usually when we walk in they have us choose whatever table we would like to sit at which is also a plus. Especially when my daughter is in tow because sometimes her childhood whimsy gets a little loud. When I come back to town to visit family, this place is usually our go-to and I'm not upset about it! The one thing I would knock a star for is that I do think its a little overpriced compared to other restaurants such as these. **Please correct me if I am wrong but I also believe the owner of Kansai owns Kisara in Easthampton which is also very yummy!**

Kansai Asian bistro is a nicely decorated sushi restaurant located across from the town green in…read moreBelchertown. It has a decent sized dining area with a large bar for drinks and several TVs scattered throughout. My wife and I met her sister and son for dinner tonight. Let's start with the good. Huge menu with multiple choices of Asian inspired food to choose from. From ramen to hibachi to sushi they have a fantastic selection to choose from. The food itself is also very good. We tried the beef bulgogi appetizer, eel special roll, golden spicy lobster roll, Alaska roll, mt tom roll and chicken hibachi. All had fantastic flavor and the rolls were presented on a huge plate lined up next to each other. Now we describe the bad (or unfortunate). We were greeted by a nice young gentleman who seated us and gave us menus and water. As we sat looking at the giant menu trying to narrow our choices I realized that this guy who seated us was also our waiter. We put in our order and got comfortable. I noticed that this guy wasn't just the host, he was the only waiter in the whole place! Not only that he was also the bartender and the person doing take out. He had 7-8 tables of people plus dealing with take out etc. Our sushi rolls came after a good 20 minute wait. After about 10 more minutes our appetizer tacos came (isn't the appetizer first??) then after another 5-10 minutes we finally got the hibachi. Slow slow and slow. This poor guy working couldn't have done anything about this. I worked in food service for 40 plus years and realized what was happening. Some would just blame the waiter and his tip would suffer. That's wrong! The owners should not only should be aware of this lack of service but should have stepped in to help in times like these. Shame on them! I don't mind waiting for good food but being called a "bistro" you should be a step above the others. Especially with these prices in today's market. Be aware that you might be waiting a bit for your food.
