Horrible never going again. I downloaded this app simply to leave a review. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was incredibly disappointing. From the moment we sat down, we felt like we were being rushed. Instead of being able to enjoy our meal, the staff made us feel like they wanted us out as quickly as possible. The biggest issue was when we tried to order another glass of wine around 9:15 p.m. We were told we couldn't because the bar had already closed at 9:30, even though it wasn't even 9:30 yet. That made no sense and was extremely frustrating. And the posting for the restaurant said they close at 10 p.m As we were finishing our meal, the staff continued hovering around our table, waiting for us to hand over our credit card, making us feel uncomfortable and pressured to leave. They had already mopped the entire restaurant while customers were still dining and kept warning us not to slip, which only added to the awkward experience. To make matters worse, we were essentially pushed out about 30 minutes before the restaurant's posted closing time. If a restaurant wants customers gone well before closing, those should be the posted hours not the time guests are expected to leave. Going out to eat should be a relaxing experience, especially when you're paying for it. Unfortunately, we felt rushed from start to finish and never had the chance to actually enjoy our evening. Absolutely disgusting customer service. This was hands down one of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had. From the moment we sat down, the staff acted like we were nothing more than a problem. We were rushed through our meal, spoken to with rude attitudes, and made to feel completely unwelcome. Before we had even finished, employees were already mopping the floors around and directly in front of our table. It was beyond disrespectful and made it obvious they cared more about getting us out than providing a good dining experience. Then came the most uncomfortable part. They handed us the bill and literally stood there, staring at us, waiting for payment instead of giving us even a moment of privacy. It was incredibly awkward, pushy, and unprofessional. I've never had a restaurant hover over me like that just to make sure I paid as quickly as possible. To make matters worse, we were told the restaurant and bar were closing, but that didn't appear to be true. It felt like another excuse to rush us out the door. If your goal is to make customers feel like they're an inconvenience, then congratulations--you've perfected it. I've never felt so unwelcome while spending my own money. There are plenty of restaurants that actually appreciate their customers. This is not one of them. I won't be back, and I would strongly recommend spending your money anywhere else. Came here for lunch with a friend who recommended it. The restaurant is clean, the menus were mostly sushi rolls hibachi and Japanese cuisine. I ordered what I thought was a lunch special and instead the server gave me the dinner portion at 11:30 in the afternoon for $5 more. Didn't know until the bill came. I also ordered cup of tea which came in a glass too hot to drink, it was cold by the time I was able to hold the glass. The dish I ordered was full of vegetables with little pieces of stringy chicken. Very disappointed! I most definitely will not be returning to this restaurant! I visited here a couple nights ago for an early dinner. The venue was quiet, with plenty of table seating. I ordered an appetizer of crab rangoons, which tasted very good, and had the Thai Basil with chicken entree, which was also quite good and was a rather good-sized portion, too. My meal came with a side dish - I went with a garden salad, which came with ginger dressing. (So, if you have a dressing preference, maybe ask about that.) Server was subpar. Ordered Sprite and water and came much after the soup and salad were delivered. Dirty dishes stacked and never retrieved during course of meal. Had Chicken and Shrimp Hibachi food that was drowned in butter, and tasted so bad. Our Hibacchi "entertainer" had no motivation and did the bare minimum. Fire alarm went off mid meal, and we all had to exit the establishment. I spoke to our older woman waitress about our experience/food and was promised to be refunded for our meals. Watched credit card statement for weeks and nothing. Filed disputed with credit card company. So disappointed with this establishment and their lack of customer service. Place is way overpriced, and I will not be returning. Still waiting for this to be taken care of. My credit card wont process the refund because YOU sent in a receipt with my signature on it. I always said that I PAID this bill, afterwards I spoke to staff (Small older women) about this negative experience, she apologized, and I was promised a full refund....but its my word against yours and I lose. I will not return here, and I suggest everyone get proof of refund before they leave your restaurant, because your word meant NOTHING.! Was going to go here for a work gathering, and came in with the person who booked the reservation. We were told that we had to wait until our entire party (14) had arrived to be seated, which fine, no big deal. The restaurant was mostly empty- not more than 25% capacity filled. We had 12/14 people and asked to sit and were begrudgingly seated. When the manager said we could have the full hibachi table, members of staff began moving our belongings without asking, and then told us our entire party of 14 could only be split 3 ways for the check so we needed to figure that out. I've been here a handful of times. Last night though, something about my food just tasted so darn good!! I got the Pork Shumai appetizer, the Sweet Heart Roll and Edamame. I order online which is super convenient. The menu is clear, well organized and offers everything they have on the Dine-in menu. They were busy with a full house so that says something on it's own. First off: I would be wary of using their online order feature. I did, but they apparently hadn't checked to see which online orders had come in. My order hadn't been started when I showed up to pick it up. However, they immediately started making it and it was ready in less than 10 minutes. I ordered a rainbow roll and an Alaska roll. Both were fresh and delicious. A small detail that I appreciated was that the wasabi was well separated from the rolls in the takeout container. Parking is plentiful since it's at a Stop & Shop plaza. Our large group was seated promptly at a Hibachi grill. We got various items. Each soup was incredibly overloaded with sodium. Some ate theirs. I might've liked it if I'd been able to taste more than the salt. The service was fine and the cook was entertaining, flipping and banging his utensils. Our hibachi entrees came with a salad, which was mostly an inexpensive iceberg lettuce with a dollop of a strange topping. While each hibachi item cooked on the large grill in front of us tasted ok to great (meat- ok, scallops- great, chicken-good) they were all served at different times. First was the cooked rice, then came the cooked beef, then the scallops, then the chicken, and finally the vegetables. The time gap between each item being served was significant enough that if you'd waited for the hot veggies, the previously served items would've been cold. Alcohol drinks (not beer and not wine) were quite weak, so stick to beer and wine. Finally, the men's room had NO soap! That gave us such a great feeling, that workers weren't using soap to clean their hands. We made a call ahead reservation and arrived at 7:30 pm. We were seated and then a woman came over and told us because we didn't have a reservation we needed to wait about a half hour. So now we are seated and they begin to tell us that my daughter is not 10 and she can't order a kids meal because they are just for kids under 10. I gave her my daughter's date of birth to confirm that she was of appropriate age and just tall. She's like well it's for kids only and we need to make money. I'm sorry but Tokyo is so overpriced for a small portion of meat and rice and noodles. The rice and noodles aren't high cost items, and they are more than making money off everyone. She was challenging and rude from the moment we arrived. I then told her that she's been harassing us since we arrived. I asked for the manager, she told us that she is the manager. We said we can just leave because we don't need to be treated so rudely. She said that's fine, and raced away to get our check for our drinks. Our kids were hungry so we reluctantly stayed but I will never return. We ended up having a hibachi cook come to our table 50 mins after we arrived. Terrible tip feature. Food was good but an 18% tip is mandatory and added to your bill. Then you are provided w a slip to add a tip based in the original bill PLUS the added 18%. When I called whom ever took the call was very pleasant. I picked my food up and went home that's when the problems began. I ordered salmon & lobster hibachi, crab Rangoon, sexy girl sushi and two kids steak hibachi. $89 worth of food. That just what I ordered. I had 4 family members order plenty food. The food had no taste. My salmon and lobster were over cooked and hard. They added in so much juice in my container it looked like I had salmon and lobster in a bowl of soup. It was disgusting. All of my food was cold and I don't live far. I called the restaurant because not only did I have all these issues but they forgot the rice that came with it. The lady who answered the phone that time was very rude. I had to go back and pickup the food they forgot and she said for me to make sure I order the right thing!!! So I told her to make sure she packs the order and don't forget food people pay for. She was rude and defensive and I get that they're busy but people want what they pay for!!!!! They also like their food to taste like something and cooked right. I think they already have it pre-made and slopped it into containers. None of the food was good. I'm only writing because me and my cousin were arguing over which Tokyo was the best and I fought for the Springfield location. My girlfriend and I come here often. We used to get a table but we did find the service to be better at the bar with Brian. He is great. I always get sashimi or some kind of special roll and I've never been disappointed. My girlfriend loves their hibachi steak she gets it Everytime. I have gone numerous times for hibachi and have always enjoyed it. I would ask to go lite on the soy that they put into rice because one guy over did it once. Other than that it really is a great place to get food. It's a hit or miss with service but still worth going for the food! There usually is a coupon in the mail that you can use FYI. read more
