I ordered a to go order by phone. The person who took the order said it would be ready in 10-15 minutes. When I got there I paid. Then I asked how much longer for my order, ( I asked 20 minutes after I ordered it) to find it had never been put in. They hadn't even started. I got my money back and had them cancel the order. Being new to town, I was excited to try Haymaker's. Unfortunately, when I entered the restaurant today, I realized none of the staff was wearing masks. I know Tennessee does not require face coverings, but I had hoped the business would do it. My preference is to dine in a restaurant that follows Covid-19 protocol (masks, distancing, extra cleaning) - I did not view that occurring here so I decided to just go home. Still a four star place but I have noticed that a half lunch stacker and a full stacker are about the same size especially if takeout. Usually they are nice and offer me the lunch special any time of the day. I have grown to love the heavys food truck and their ribs if you can catch them. That was partially remedied with the help of a good choice of sauces, from mild to nicely spicy. The sandwiches were served on a plain sesame hamburger bun, with fries. We recently visited Haymaker BBQ twice during our trip to Cumberland Gap. What a great find! Best bbq I ever had. Huge portions of tender meat and scrumptious sauces to choose from.
