Friendly server, west coast ipa is great! Love the spaciousness. The west coast dreamin' is a bit hoppier and it makes me happier too. Comes in a can. First one is on draft. They serve mixed drinks also.

Meh, C- kind of visit. My husband was excited to visit to sample award-winning beers. The first two he tried to order were out. That's a bummer! The service was so-so. Our server was nice enough, but couldn't answer basic menu questions. Food arrived and my plate was missing condiments . I ordered fish & chips. Very average, barely golden batter. Cole slaw was not good. The flavor was just off for me. We sat inside & the vibe was fine. A little loud considering it was almost empty. Overall, this place was a miss.

Came across Haymarket while walking around during Black Friday. This is definitely a sports bar where sports fan come to watch their teams on one of the many TVs around the bar and seating area. The staff is very friendly and the service was fairly quick; especially needed cuz my friend was starving. She ordered the smash burger and tater tots and I just had a side of tater tots. The food is great for bar food while watching the game; you're here for the comradery!

My husband and I were looking for a fun bar to just go grab a drink on a cool Saturday afternoon in the city. I was looking for a place that had a cozy fun atmosphere and he was looking for good beers. So we ended up stopping at Haystack Pub and Brew. We walked in and sat right at the bar. Off the top I would say it is a very pub/Tavern type bar. In my head, it wasn't really what I was looking for, but we were there so I figured we'd give it a try. Our bartender was very friendly. We each ordered our drinks. My husband, who is a beer, connoisseur, ordered the Chicago Tavern, which he really enjoyed. I opted for a cocktail and ordered (I can't recall the name of my drink unfortunately because it was so very good) but it had their homemade strawberry basil, seltzer with soda water, and simple syrup I believe. It was Berry Something... it was an outstanding drink. I don't usually find things made so perfect for what I want but this was it. We each got a Bavarian pretzel as a snack and the pretzel was amazing. Super soft on the inside with a crisp outside, beer cheese, and a great mustard! We met a very nice couple sitting next to us and it ended up being a very nice stop in our day. Other than the pretzel, we did not try any food, but the restaurant side of it looked quite busy in the middle of the day. Moral of the story... going in it might not exactly be what you were imagining, but give it a try. You can have some very pleasant unexpected surprises.

They kept the mimosas coming!!! One of my besties saw this place on tik tok & took me here to get away from the woes of life. It was the perfect spot. We sat on the patio. It was a beautiful day and we had an awesome server. They had limited options for vegan/ pescatarian meals but there were a decent amount of vegetarian option. The menu wasn't extensive so in comparison this is pretty good. The food I did order was delicious!! I had the French toast & guacamole with chips. Yummmm!!! My bestie ordered a salad. Our waitress kept the mimosa coming so fast & they were strong. We broke our seals and had to keep running to the rest room lol.

Our experience at Haymarket was great. Located in the heart of West Loop, Haymarket offers a casual vibe that can not be found in many of the other restaurants around here. We came in without a reservation on a Saturday night and were able to be seated at a high top table by the window immediately. Our server was phenomenal! She made our meal so enjoyable with her great attitude and attentiveness to our needs. We shared the jalapeño breadsticks, a tavern style pizza, and each got a flight of beer. I enjoyed everything and will definitely be back here again!

    Pork Malaise

Stopped by Haymarket Brewery in Chicago and had an outstanding experience! I ordered the Pork Milanese and it was absolutely fantastic--crispy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Easily one of the best dishes I've had at a brewpub. To go with it, I tried their Speaker Wagon Pilsner, and it was a perfect pairing. Light, crisp, and incredibly refreshing--ideal for a warm day or just unwinding after a long one. The staff truly made the visit even better. Jonathan behind the bar was friendly and knowledgeable, and John, our server, was incredibly attentive and welcoming. Great food, great drinks, and genuinely great people. Definitely looking forward to coming back. Highly recommended!

    Smash burger

Went here on a whim after looking for a random spot to eat at in the city, and definitely enjoyed the food/service. Food wise - ordered the smash burger which was solid, didn't blow me away compared to other locations I've been to but no complains at all. I think if you had a sesame bun, it would bring it over the top. Just not a huge fan of the bun they use. Fries were decent, well seasoned but some of them seemed stale. Had an order of the Buffalo wings which were also solid, and my SO ordered the pulled pork sandwich with the crème - perfectly cooked, bread was perfect, and the pork with the crema was a perfect combination. That was the real winner of the night. The beer was also solid and the waiter who served us was very attentive, gave us beer samples and overall did a great job of helping us.

Came to Haymarket to watch the game with my fiancé. It was a quiet bar with a bunch of TVs. We ordered the oyster mushroom pizza and the jalapeño poppers and both were pretty good. For the poppers, the menu warns you that it is very spicy. I thought it was a good level of spice, nothing tooo crazy like Thai chilis. The pizza was thing and crispy and a good size for 2 people. Our waiter was attentive but we had to keep asking for basics like plates and napkins

Ask the Community - Haymarket Pub & Brewery

Do they offer shuttle services to and from United Center?

Hi Carly, we don't offer regular shuttle service to UC events. We used to run a shuttle for Hawks games, but the proliferation of Uber and Lyft rendered that unnecessary. You can very quickly get rideshare rides in the neighborhood. Thanks.

Is there outdoor seating with TVs to watch a game?

    I don't believe so

Is the bathroom on the main floor? Thank you?

There are batchrooms on the main floor, in the back room past the brew vats. They even have a family restroom

They played good music and wasn't too loud. You could easily carry on a conversation or , like me, continue listening to a podcast. By the time I finished, the place was completely full and a bit noisy, but not bad. I started out with a 10oz Birds of Prey Pilsner. It was very nice. Light and crisp and very easy to drink. I followed that up with Melodious Maibock and ordered the CBG burger with fries. I didn't have lunch so I dove right in and forgot to snap a photo. It was a very good smash burger. It was cooked well and I really liked the combination of pickled onion and caramelized onion. I didn't see it until later but you can add bacon. As much as I loved this burger, bacon would totally take it up a notch! I started chatting with the bartender about their different beers and decided to have the Super Melodious Jalapeño Maibock with the burger. It's soooo different, but in a good way. It paired so well with the burger. You get green bell pepper on the nose and a hint of it on the palate. When you swallow you get a little heat at the back of the throat. It was so good! Great bar. Great food. Great beer. Go check them out!

The food is actually good and can be talked about in reviews because some people actually come here to eat, which tells you how they actually have a kitchen. Believe everything is good here but we came for the beers of course. It's certainly the main product made here so why wouldn't it be important. They make more than you can believe which is impressive because there's all kinds of crowds who pass through. For sure everyone wants beer. It's $6 a pint at happy hour. Pretty great for craft beers compared to lots of places it seems. Best one we got was the Bucket Hat. This is a Belgian style witbier. Has notes of bubble gum, coriander, and orange. The food isn't an afterthought so get some of that. It's about $18 for a burger. Vegans have options. Certainly one of these is the Veggie Burger. This is an amazing thing with a spinach patty topped with chipotle tomato marmalade, cremini mushrooms, mixed greens, pickled red onions, and sweet potatoes. All on a fluffy ciabatta bun. The rest of the menu contains meaty stuff. For sure it feels like a place for the hipsters but it's pretty great for anyone. It's located at the intersection of Jackson and Wabash close to lots of fun. The brewery has food that's better than expected but many other things about this kind of stuff are typical.

Our seat allowed both of us to have a view of the kitchen window to watch the chefs prep courses. There were 3-4 servers that serviced the entire dining room and rotated in presenting dishes. They started with warm towelettes to wash your hands which was a nice touch. Service level throughout was impeccable with water refills, explaining the menu, delightful demeanor, fresh silverware per course, and wiping the table clean from anything that dropped.
