Making an appointment was as easy as calling the optometry and giving them information on my insurance plan (where they are able to look it up and tell you the benefits). On the day of the appointment, I recommend coming early to fill out the intake form as a new patient and bringing your existing prescribed glasses. Afterwards, I took some quick check-in test before seeing the doctor. Dr. Nguyen did my eye exams and she was wonderful! She was thorough, explained everything in an easy to understand/detailed manner, gave really practical and actionable advice, and answered all the questions I had. The front desk folks, Ben and Raul, were also amazing!! They were super friendly, kind, and helpful throughout my visit. What I most appreciated was that they explained all the benefits of my insurance and shared their recommendations on what frames and lense features to choose given my benefits. I made an eye exam appointment for 1PM and was conveniently reminded twice by text in the days leading up to it. Their office was closed for lunch between 12-1PM, but the staff returned promptly and I barely had to wait before being serviced. The whole process felt very efficient, but more importantly, it didn't feel like they were trying to rush me out the door. I explained to Dr. Martinez that I hadn't visited an optometrist in years and we briefly discussed how eye examination technologies have advanced and what new options are now available. I told him I worked with computers and he recommended a coating for my glasses to deal with UV blue light. What I appreciated most was that he never pressured me into buying the coating. After being examined, I was given the option to purchase new glasses. My current pair served me just fine, but I was open to the idea. Again, there was no pressure to make a purchase. I spoke to an employee about what my insurance would cover and how much I'd be willing to pay out of pocket and she immediately brought out all the frames that fit my budget.
