Tarah from Beachcombers gave up time out of her Thanksgiving morning to get the house ready and let us check-in early. The house was incredible but this review is for Tarah and Beachcombers. Unbelievable customer service! As others have said, you're paying for the view. However, personally, I have not felt welcome here,…read moreand I also observe that many of the stated amenities or "perks" are not available, not working, or just not.....it's been death by a thousand cuts for me, and it's on top of the multiple racial micro aggressions I've experienced in this town in less than 24 hours. 1. Upon arrival to check-in, I observed one person at the reception desk being helped by the sole staff member, plus several folks hanging out in the lobby. After checking that no one else was waiting, I sat down to wait. They all left and I was the only person waiting. Of course, a white woman strolled right up to the desk from outside just as the other guest left, and instead of telling her I was there first, or even acknowledging me at all, the white staff person just helped her. 2. They say that pets names are on a welcome board when you arrive. My dog's name was not there and the board was tucked away against a wall. 3. I'm traveling alone with a dog, so I unload everything before bringing my dog into the room. After lugging everything to the door, my key cards did not work. When I went back to reception, there was no apology, or anything about accountability. Simply "oh let me fix that." 4. The room says that the TV is equipped with AppleTV, and even has a special button for it. Does not actually work. 5. They say they provided cookies in the lobby between 4-6pm. I checked in just after 4pm and there were none. 6. I took my dog out to sightsee and when we same back, again with my hands full, the key cards did not work again. So, I have to leave my belongings at the door, and run to the lobby with my dog in tow, to get the fixed AGAIN. funny how that happened again. 7. When we did open the door to the room the first few times, the smell of "old lady perfume" was so strong. I asked the front desk if that was intentional and she said it must be a cleaning product. It is way too strong and I can still smell it on day 2, even after airing the room out as much as possible. 8. The shower head is covered with lime, and the spray options do not all fully function due to how clogged the shower head is. 9. The bedding is way too light for the climate. So then you run the heater, and get too hot in the night. 10. The outdated fridge runs loudly at random times in the night. I'm on a long road trip with my dog as we move to Canada, and we've been on the road for 2 weeks and been to 5 states. I decided to splash out on this hotel because I'm a huge Goonies fan, and my dog loves the beach. Overall, I'm disappointed and I'd say this hotel is not worth it at all. I will not stay here again. For this amount of $$$, plus dog fees for me, this value is abysmal.

The shower was amazing. Mo's is the restaurant right next-door has awesome food and drinks . There is a pub in walking distance right across the street where you can play pool have drinks with a great vibe. The swimming pool was warm and the hot tub was hot! The sauna was awesome too. We definitely will be going back for a longer stay. Cute bunnies everywhere and they don't seem to be afraid of people. The only downfall is there is no AC in the room however there is a box fan in the closet and we requested another box fan because we get very warm. Other than that, we had a great time. The staff were very friendly and accommodating ! They even brought us an extension cord for the other fan so we could set it up and have great circulation . With the windows open it cooled down quickly. It was really very comfortable..

It's just a short walk to the beach and about a 20-minute walk to Haystack Rock. Since it's on the south end of town, the area feels quieter and less crowded. One tip: pay attention to the room size when booking. Some rooms are quite compact, so it's worth checking the square footage before you reserve. If your budget allows, the larger rooms are well worth it, they include a kitchenette and often offer better views.

There…read moreare hundreds of places to choose from once we narrowed our search to Cannon Beach and photos and descriptions on the internet only give part of the story. So a number of months ago, my mother started the process of finding just the right place for our family gathering. She gave this rental agency very high marks and we ended up renting through them. They absolutely went the extra mile and since we were booking so far in advance, gave us a map and let us tour a few properties that weren't currently occupied. You start to notice things not on the rental listing, like parking issues, construction next door and is the view as good as it seems... Once you saw the options in person, the choice was clear. The actual stay went very smoothly and everything they promised was delivered. I would definitely use them again for another getaway to Cannon Beach.

We have rented from CBVR for many years and have typically had a good experience. Things have gone…read moreconsistently downhill. In the middle of the pandemic we arrived for a week long rental to find that despite claiming extensive cleaning between guests we arrived to find the home had not been thoroughly cleaned. Their solution was to bring us cleaning supplies to clean the unit ourselves. I believe they did give us some credit on the cleaning fee however if I wanted to clean a home while on vacation I would have stayed home and cleaned mine and not paid to clean someone else's. This year we rented the same house, and I have to say that the house is lovely, is fully stocked, is one house from the beach but still has a beautiful view. It is on a busy dead end with lots of traffic. Unfortunately we have had a number of issues this visit. First, due to several large and unexpected expenses prior to our trip I had asked their staff member John to hold off on my final payment until payday. John agreed and provided this agreement in writing, however the company took the payment on the original date anyways. They did correct it, but over 6 days later even though Kathy had promised it would be fixed the following morning after I contacted them. Arriving at our rental we find that there is construction being done next door. We have had to listen to hammering and sawing and drilling and whatever else is going on over there the entire visit. CBVR didn't find it necessary to notify us. They claimed to have not known about the construction. Despite having rented from CBVR before, and have always brought a service animal with me (PTSD dog due to being a felony crime victim), they seem to suddenly have an issue with this. Today is day 6 of my rental and this morning a neighbor had their dog off leash and when I asked them to hold onto their dog so that it wouldn't approach us the neighbor became upset about it. Not long after I received a phone call from Kathy at CBVR who reported that they "had noticed" that I had a dog at the unit and had not paid the pet fee. I reminded Kathy that I have always had a service animal since I began renting from them and that service animals don't require fees. When asked how she "noticed" my service animal she reported that she had been driving by and had seen him. Pretty odd since we are on a dead end and she would have had to specifically come down to the end of the road... but just to spy on us. She claims that she drives by ALL of their rentals Finding this to be quite strange I asked her to tell me what my dog looked like. She stated that it was a rottweiler or a pitbull (it is neither) but that she didn't really know her breeds, which was understandable. I then asked her to tell me the color of my dog and she said black and brown, but my dog is white and tan. Since she obviously had not seen my dog I asked her how they did not know about the construction seeing as she drives by all their units. At this point she placed me on hold and after a few minutes came back to say that she wasn't going to answer any more questions. This is because she/they are obviously dishonest. Harassing people with disabilities is so 1960s, Kathy. I cannot in good faith recommend this rental company any longer.

My wife and I stayed here recently (early June) for three nights…read more First, the location is great. On the main drag of S Hemlock, a short walk to a grocery store, Tolovana State Recreation Area, and the beach, as well as a few restaurants. The compound is a series of buildings with rooms that you enter from the outside. We were upstairs with our balcony overlooking the garden, which was nice. The day we checked in, the woman at the front desk was helpful, but for me, with a hearing deficit, she talked fast and I relied on my wife to interpret for me. No big deal, though. They offer cookies individually wrapped, which is a nice touch. In the lobby are tea and coffee. Our room had double queen beds, was clean, and had all the amenities: mini fridge, microwave, and hairdryer. Strangely, we found that our heater was on, and we had to investigate how to turn it off. There is no A/C, at least not that we saw. However, it does not seem to get hot there, so with the window open, not an issue. The bathroom had a small tub/shower but nice fan and great water pressure. The TV worked fine. The first morning, we checked out the complimentary breakfast. You have to walk across Surfcrest St into another compound called Lodges at Cannon Beach and back in the corner is the breakfast room (there is a sign that leads the way). However, we were not impressed. Except for the sausage, biscuits, muffins, and juice, we were not impressed. There were no scrambled eggs that morning, just hard boiled. I'm not a fan of biscuits and gravy. They don't have a waffle maker, so the waffles had been sitting out and, for us, not edible. Ultimately, we skipped the breakfast the next two mornings. Housekeeping did a great job of cleaning and tidying up our room each day. We appreciated that. Besides the unimpressive breakfast, I only had one other issue. About dusk the frogs start up in the pond at the center of the garden area where most rooms overlook. They are continuous and loud, so that we had to close the window to be able to sleep. There is a fan in the room, but we like fresh air and were unable to enjoy it. Overall, we were happy with the Inn At Cannon Beach.

After incredible experiences in…read moreBend and Newport, Oregon, my husband and I were excited to arrive in Cannon Beach, expecting the same warm hospitality we had encountered throughout the state. Unfortunately, that was not our experience at the Inn at Cannon Beach. My husband checked us in around 4:15 p.m. on Thursday, July 16. We had booked a four-night stay. Although there were no other guests waiting and three employees were behind the front desk, he was greeted with a curt, "How can I help you?" There was no hello, welcome, or smile. The check-in process felt cold and robotic, with none of the warmth we had experienced at every other property on our trip. After settling into our room, we returned a few minutes later to request the complimentary pass to the local gym. A different employee provided the information with little enthusiasm. She mentioned the gym was about a mile away. When I asked whether it was walkable, she replied, "I can do it." I wasn't asking whether someone could walk it--I wanted to know whether it was practical and safe for visitors unfamiliar with the area. We decided to explore on foot. The route followed a busy road with no sidewalks, something that would have been helpful to mention. We also encountered several large elk roaming near the road and decided it was wiser to turn back. My husband asked to speak with a manager and was directed to the front desk supervisor, who was the same employee who had given us the gym information. He explained that, based on our check-in and subsequent interactions, we did not feel welcome and would prefer to leave if we could receive a full refund. She responded with a perfunctory, "I'm sorry you feel that way," agreed to refund our stay, and that was the end of the conversation. There was no attempt to understand our concerns or ask whether anything could be done to improve our experience. We were disappointed that our first impression of Cannon Beach came from a hotel where we felt like an inconvenience rather than valued guests. For a nightly rate of $500+, we hoped for better service. Although we had to scramble to find accommodations during the busy summer season, we ultimately found another hotel where the hospitality matched everything we had come to appreciate throughout Oregon.
