I really want to like this place, it's close to where I live, the food is decent and the outdoor area is beautiful. I've been here twice, the first time the waitress seemed a little rude maybe having a bad day or something but it was still good service so that's fine. This evening was the opposite, very polite and friendly but disappeared for most of the meal, waited on drink refills for over half an hour and everything was very slow and they weren't busy at all maybe two or three other tables in the whole restaurant. I'll probably give it one more try and hopefully the service is better. read more

Went with a large group on a Wednesday evening. Only complaint is the parking. I joked i had to park in Centre County. I server was attentive and friendly. When asked for recommendations he didn't hesitate and he was so right about the mango habanero wings. The brew city fries with cheese were outstanding. Just finished eating at Haywood's in mill hall. The waitress who wasn't our waitress who served our food comes up and says she notices that we don't tip, which is a lie. My tip is always based off of service if you don't do your job I don't tip. She told me however she notices we don't tip and they have a right to refuse service if we don't tip so if we didn't tip this time we would be refused next time or gratuity added. That's fine refuse my service. That's perfect. The service is crap there anyway. Will not be returning. There isn't a law saying I have to tip. Tipping is based off of the service you give me. I ordered mashed potatoes with my food. They brought me out French fries and I said I'm sorry I ordered mashed potatoes. I was completely done with my food before I got the mashed potatoes. I am a previous server here, at both Haywood's and 9 Irons. You can't find a 9 irons page, because the new owner avoids reviews he cannot delete. Any review over 6 months is referring to Haywood's. At Haywood's, I was treated as a valued worker, whereas I have never been so badly manipulated, treated, and traumatized in a workplace as I was when I was a waitress under the new management. Please, DON'T EVER WORK HERE. As for customers, your serving staff is being verbally degraded and given too many tables (based on my own experience). Try your best to be patient! read more

This restaurant is now called 9 Irons Restaurant and Grill. The new owner posted that they would be accepting Haywoods gift cards for 90 days after opening. Not true as he decided after receiving complaints to only offer 20% off food items. We had a $50.00 card and received $6.00 off. They kept the card. Will not go back and was our favorite place. Customer service is horrible and even though they advertised a new menu it's the same as Haywood's. The food was average at best and the so called remodel was new carpet and some lights. I stopped here with a coworker while in town for work. It was lunch time and we sat at the bar, there were a handful of others at the tables. I chose the flatbread and added mushrooms, it was filling and had a decent flavor. My coworker had the brisket sandwich with fresh cut fries and it was MASSIVE. Our food was decent and arrived quickly. The service was so-so, the bartender acted annoyed with us when we first sat down then she opened up a bit towards the end when we were paying the bill. I was disappointed when I ordered a Reuben, it was made with coleslaw instead of sauerkraut, and it is not mentioned on the menu. The appetizer we got was great except for the onion rings were not done and they just filled your mouth with grease. My French fries were old and cold I did ask the waitress to bring me fresh fries but they were really not any better. I think the fryer was not hot enough or they needed the oil changed. Lively sports bar atmosphere. Service quality is a hit or miss... sometimes great, sometimes terrible. Popular place in town so reservations for big groups are a good idea, but not necessarily needed. Food quality is almost always decent, sometimes could come out less than average/mistakes with order when restaurant is quite busy. I hosted a memorial dinner for my wife at Haywood's on 8/30/19. Prior to the event I worked with Laurie on the menu. She was very accommodating and worked with me to plan the perfect combination of food and desserts to please everyone. The service was excellent as well as the food. Everything from the lasagna to the turkey with trimmings and the beef tenderloin was great. Everyone commented on how great it all tasted. The ballroom area upstairs was great. A separate dining and bar area with windows in the bar to watch the sunset over fishing creek. I could not have picked a better place in the area to host the dinner. Haywood's is one of the better places in the area. Staff is ok, probably they could be a touch more professional. But I have not had any issues worth complaining about. The menu is good for pub food. Wish they had better buns for their burgers. They would get five stars from me if they used their pretzel dough recipe for their Stromboli's for their burger buns. Or something of the sort. Went here for lunch while meeting some customers. Service was excellent and catered to our needs (we had a group of 9). We had a couple of the sampler appetizer plates with fried cheese, calamari, fried pickles and potato skins. Everything came out in a timely manner. I had the Broiled haddock with a side salad and fries. The fish was very well prepared and was tasty, the salad was a classic side salad and the fries were slightly undercooked and soggy. Overall a pleasant lunch experience, I would definitely go back when in town. read more

A usual stop for me when I come into town. I read all of the 1 and 2 star ratings and thought they were reviewing a different restaurant! Nothing that was said was true from my point of view. Menu items are different than any other place I've eaten which is quite refreshing. Portions are large and everything I've tried so far has been very tasty. Had every meal I've ever ordered there in about 10 minutes or so, not the 45 minutes like others complain about. And if you are lucky your waitress will be Kiera Smith. She is such a nice person and will take good care of you during your visit. She's served me 3 times now and I will ask for her exclusively when I go in now. I highly recommend Haywoods! read more

Food is along decent quality , but good serving sizes and very reasonably priced. I had the flat iron steak which was slightly over cooked but still decent. Saw several plates of meatloaf go by. Massive portion size; will be getting that next time I go. Grilled chicken tenders are very good; the garlic hot sauce is my favorite. Beer selection is small but they have enough to satisfy you. This place has gone down hill. I used to live in Lock Haven for many years, and frequented Haywood's. My most recent visit will be my last. The entire restaurant smelt dirty, the carpets were sticky, and looked gross. The men's bathroom smelled awful (pretty comparable to The Fallon). Final complaint from my most recent visit is it was unbearably hot in there. I had sweat pouring off me the entire meal. The only positive thing was the food is still the same good quality, but too many downsides to return the next time I'm in the area. read more

The restaurant is located in the Clinton County Country Club. The golf course is behind the Super Wal-mart and Mill Brook Playhouse. The food is good and a reasonable price for the amount that you recieve. The staff is friendly, and the order is taken fairly soon after you arrive. The wait for the food is however a long one, at least it has been each time I have been there. We ordered the Ben Rothlenberger (sp) platter. apparently named after a steelers player with a large burger, coleslaw, fries, egg, lettuce, tomato, pickles all placed on the burger, You will have juice running down to your elbows. It also came with fries on the side. Again a fair amount for the price, the food was not bad....your just gonna have to wait to get it. You use the same parking area as the country club and enter thru the front area. They also have a Haywoods on the Water which is located in Williamsport, I usually see it as I get off the Fourth Street Exit; however, have not made it to that one to see what it has to offer. read more

Wow! Two stars based on five reviews would normally have deterred us from eating here, but my brother selected Haywood's for our pre-game dining spot. Unfortunately, the LHUP football team lost, but our meal was a winner!! Portions are generous (junior varsity size is more than enough) and the sandwiches were fabulous-- I had the Reuben and my hubby had a cheese steak. The fresh-cut fries are delicious and enough for two. I find it interesting that nine of the eleven reviews that are "not recommended" by Yelp (and thus not factored into the rating) are four or five stars... THEY SHOULD BE! The giant hamburgers are what draw us back over and over. The portions are incredible, and I really appreciate the toasted roll. The chocolate peanut butter pie is usually extraordinary with an ultra thick Graham cracker crust not to be missed. Yup. Pretty bad today. Arrived at 1230pm and waited 45 minutes until food was served. Cold. Yup. Cold. So they put the husbands meatloaf in the supersize microwave and made minor adjustments to my meal. We had a gift certificate and had about 15$ left on it after the meal. On February the 21st, I contact the Haywood's to reserve the smaller private room. The woman bartender checked to see if it was reserved and told me that it was all open and my reservation was taken. My name was taken, date, time, phone number and how many we were expecting. On March 26th I called back to confirm my party because I am over 2 hours away and the reason for the party was for a surprise party for my daughter's 21st birthday who attends Lockhaven. I was thrown a curve ball only to hear that the room had a different reservation name as well as the back room. They had my party of 20-25 people out in the main restaurant???? Very frustrated I asked to speak to the manager or someone of authority. When the owner contacted me back I was told that I could "share" the room with the other party?!!!???!? Are you serious?? I am sure a phone call wasn't made to the other party to see if that was ok with them but now you are going to cram 40-50 people in that room?? May I tell you, NOT A ONE TIME did I hear an apology from the owner! I don't like to bash restaurants considering my part time job is a waitress however.... The lack of book keeping, respect was a huge downer. So... I took my almost $1,000 bill to another restaurant yesterday and had an amazing time. Fyi.... I've gone back to Haywoods several times since my last review. Thankfully, the poor service and disappointing food seems to have been resolved. Service has been much better and the wings were very good. Also, some of the best spinach artichoke dip I've ever had. I personally don't care for their ever popular mac and cheese, but that's just my taste. My only complaint is that they removed reuben dip from the menu. Why?? It was the best! read more
