Honestly, my favorite thing about this place is the service! The folks working here are so sweet and really work hard to make sure you have a great experience. I had some avocado toast with arugula and hard boiled egg. It was delicious! The blueberry lemon cheesecake Matcha was also amazing. It was on the specials menu, unfortunately. The dining room is just stunningly beautiful. The lighting, the adorable reading corner with books available for use while in the café, the window seating so you can watch folks walk or drive by while you're getting some work done... It's just all perfect. This might be one of my favorite spots to come during the workday.

It was the day after Christmas and we were looking for an open coffee shop on the East Side of Providence. It was actually interesting how many places were closed, but Hazel Origin was open! This is a beautiful, well lit, open space, colorful coffee shop on Brown University campus. The service was friendly and helpful here. We ordered a couple of drinks and a couple of food items to share. First, their coffee here is quite good, and it looks like they roast their own beans which I always like. My Brown Sugar Rosemary latte was great. I mostly tasted the brown sugar, but there was a hint of rosemary that I liked a lot. For food, I got to try two of their breakfast burritos. The Hazel wrap was my favorite. It's very cheesy and the eggs and sausage are delicious. It came with a house-made maple aioli that was so good. I can't say enough good things about this breakfast wrap. The eggs and chorizo burrito was really good, but I was thinking it would be a Mexican chorizo rather than a Spanish chorizo. The menu doesn't say what kind it is, but maybe they should point that out. Still really good and I love how flavorful the chorizo is. The classic avocado toast was good, but the toast itself seemed maybe a bit stale. The egg, tomato's and avocado were great. Overall, I highly recommend Hazel for good coffee, delicious breakfasts and a really nice place to hang out.

Always wanted to stop here on my way to work and jury duty gave me the chance to bike here. Beautiful interior in a historic location

Clean coffee shop. Their medium roast coffee was 4.7/5. Excellent.

Their coffee was memorable. Would definitely come back. Medium roast hot black was 5 stars. Latte was 4 stars. The place looks so nice with its luxurious looking exterior and extra high ceiling interior. Staff were hippie style and pleasant. Coffee score: 4.7/5.

Hazel Origin Coffee is a family-owned coffee shop that has 2 current locations at 245 Esten Ave, Pawtucket, RI 02860 and 250 Brook St, Providence, RI 02906. They are also working on opening a store on Thomas Street where Cafe Choklad used to be in Providence. This was my first time at Hazel Origin Coffee and I visited the one on Brook Street, on the ground floor of Chen Family Hall. There are plenty of two-hour time limit street parking available. I was planning to stay for an hour so this worked great. I walked in on a Tuesday morning around 8:00am and I was able to secure a countertop seat by the window. The natural sunlight brightens the coffee shop. There are plenty of tables and countertop seats available inside and seating outside as well. I took a look at their menu and I loved how I could customize my own matcha. I chose matcha with honey and lavender and it was DELICIOUS! The matcha is of ceremonial grade. A few days later on a Thursday afternoon around 4:30pm, I returned to Hazel Origin Coffee. There weren't too many artisan pastries made in-house left in the display case, but I chose a lemon blueberry loaf and it was very good. I'm so glad Hazel Origin Coffee is in the community. Since this is the summer and most students are on break, it wasn't too busy in the coffee shop but I am sure when the students return it'll be busy.

Rating: 3.8 Came to try this place because my partner was interested in trying out this new location. It's a small coffee spot around brown university campus. Parking is only street parking which may be difficult to find due to most being filled with students who live around the area. When I came in it was pretty busy with a lot students studying at the place. We placed an order at the counter. I ordered the chocolate haze latte and egg, cheese and bacon breakfast sandwich with croissants and chipotle aioli sauce. Since it was busy we did wait around 15 minutes or so. The drink was pretty good. The chocolate haze latte had good balanced of sweet and coffee flavor that weren't overwhelming. The sandwich was okay standard egg, cheese, and bacon sandwich. Croissants were nice and fluffy and flavorful but they did forget the sauce so it was bit dry. I know they were busy so I didn't bother asking to fix it. Service was overall good except the wait and sauce that they forgot on the sandwich which I paid extra for. Overall the place is decent but not enough to justify the wait and slow service which comes from being filled with students around the area. If you are not students and live around the area it may be best to go to the other location or options.

I came here because it happens to be closer to me today. I already know the other shop in Pawtucket and wanted to try this place out. Enough said with stating that it's within the Brown university dorms (I think). So lots of college students taking up seats with laptops and friends on study sessions~ that means they won't leave for hours~ which is ok because it's to be expected. Just be ready to wait for seats or just take to go~ Our order was quick at the counter because I know what I love here~ Chicken pesto panini! No fries or sides... which I was confused that I wasn't offered it like in the Pawtucket location. They stated being understaffed, and our orders will take a while~ which they did~ plenty of wait time to aim for a student leaving their table~ good food and drinks~ not the best in-door eating spot~ hard to find seats~ good study spot but you have to wait for a seat~

Hazel Origin Coffee is a sweet & sunny spot over on college hill. The interior - Wonderful. High ceilings, modern touches, & so much natural light. Plenty of seating choices, both in the shade & in the sun. The bathroom was a bit jarring in comparison, so I wonder if the owners haven't gotten around to putting the razzle dazzle on it yet. The service - Very kind & efficient. The coffee - Scrumptious. The food - I was limited to the only two gluten-free options, which were both pastries - Blueberry lemon cake or a brownie. They don't have gluten-free bread so none of their sandwiches can be made gluten-free. I chose the blueberry lemon cake & it was very decent for gluten-free. It was moist & flavorful, not dry & crumbly like most GF pastries. I wish I could've gotten a sandwich or a toast, though. My friend got a caprese toast & it looked amazing. Overall - Nice spot! I'll be back & I look forward to gluten-free bread in the future, I hope.

New Providence location near Brown University. Similar to their Pawtucket shop, this location has delicious food and coffee, and plenty of seating. Service was friendly but parking was a bit tough since it is street parking.

I was here to study a couple different times and had a great experience! It's pretty spacious with some large tables that allowed me to get a lot of studying done. The coffee is decent but both times I was there, we were able to try a couple of their pastries, which were delicious. I got the pistachio croissant, which was maybe a bit sweet but had great flavor. My friend got a korean garlic bread that was very yummy too! I plan on coming back soon and trying other things on their menu

I think I found my new favorite coffee house in PVD. Come here if you: 1) like having your drink served in a classic cup&saucer 2) appreciate a cafe with big windows for copious natural lighting 3) enjoy a clean environment with no loud music 4) attentive and patience staff that help you navigate the menus 5) plenty of seating for you and your friends to stay & relax On a rainy Saturday like today, I loved spending my morning here with my boyfriend and my sketch book. Try out their flat white and latte with vanilla bean; the coffee flavor is full bodied and delightful.

Overall, not a bad experience. My cortado was not extra hot like I asked unfortunately, but the coffee itself was definitely of high quality. My friend enjoyed her iced latte as well. Would definitely go back to try again and try the food.

Super flaky and a lot of delicious flavor from the filling and garnishes. It was very busy when I stopped by midday. They were out of some items already (I missed out on trying the French onion croissant before they replaced it with another menu item). I did find a spot to sit outside but I can see it being even harder to find a seat during peak times. It's a bit off the beaten path yet it's known and popular for a reason. I was sold as soon as I read their menu and saw that they had a Halva latte. This is one of my favorites and I can only get it at cafes near Boston. If you haven't had it, it's a must try. Halva is a sweet confection that is sesame based. Brown Bee definitely delivered on this one. I hope it stays on the menu! My wife had a pistachio latte that is made with homemade pistachio syrup. It was 10/10. We didn't plan on eating, but we did end up getting one of their cinnamon rolls with a homemade cream cheese frosting. It was fantastic! They have plenty of seating and although we waited inline, there were several seats available and we got to enjoy our drinks and cinnamon roll. This place is worth the wait in line. We will be going back again this weekend. I want to try the everything croissant with cream cheese baked inside! We may also try one of their breakfast sandwiches. My only recommendation is that they add little chalk boards for each of the croissants with what they are as they had to keep telling everyone what each one was. Still a 10/10.

It's a great-looking spot in RI with a small patio and some limited parking in the back, but the atmosphere felt pretty unwelcoming. To be honest, as a person of color, I felt like we were treated differently than other customers. While the person taking our order was fine, the rest of the staff and even the patrons were snappy and rude, which really killed the vibe. It's a shame because the coffee itself is actually incredible. You can tell they really know what they're doing--the options are expansive and every cup is clearly well-crafted. If you're just in it for a high-quality brew and don't mind a side of cold energy, it might be worth it, but the lack of basic hospitality makes it hard to fully enjoy. A total "vibey" spot on the outside, but definitely lacked the warmth you'd expect from a local coffee shop.

The first time I came, it was a rainy weekday and this time it was a sunny weekend, so I was expecting an even larger crowd; and my prediction was correct. The line was just out the door but because of their awesome staff, the line was moving very quickly. While we waited in line, we could watch them making pastries through the glass, a couple feet in front of us. I admired that level of transparency. When we were third in line, the kindest lady asked us whether we'd be eating in or taking out and she took down our name to help us find a table when it came time. She did the same for the rest of the people in line. She also gave us some recommendations, including the cinnamon bun - apparently they're so good kids cry when they sell out. I didn't intend to order anything with my drink, but I couldn't get the cinnamon bun out of my head so I ordered it along with my iced spiced chai latte. The hen (I think it's their logo) on the aprons of the employees are super cute. We did secure a table. The tables are close together to maximize the number of people who can sit down but I didn't mind. I love their art all around, mostly of birds which I am obsessed with. I love that they have a lot of natural lighting coming through their tall windows. I also like the navy blue and white theme they have going on. The chai latte was perfect. It was the right color (a dark tan), meaning the ratio of tea and milk was good and I could taste a lot of the spices. The cinnamon bun blew my expectations away. The second my teeth made. contact with the icing, it was a magical feeling. I couldn't quite put my finger on what it tasted like, but the closest I got was dulce de leche. It is truly unlike any other cinnamon bun I have ever had. The dough is soft and there is a good amount of cinnamon. It's also $4 which is not bad. I had a bite of their canelé, which apparently requires a lot of work to make. It was very moist, with a great caramelized finish. I am super excited to try their new weekend dinner menu, but also more of their all day menu items.

It feels like her place in the best way -- warm, proud, hands-on. Pastries are legit. Super buttery, flaky enough to make a mess, clearly baked that morning. No sad, sitting-around-all-day vibes. Ordered the breakfast sandwich and that tomato jam needs to be illegal. Sweet, savory, slightly tangy -- it completely makes the sandwich. I kept trying to figure out how to recreate it at home. Not happening. Crispy chicken sandwich was properly seasoned and not dried out (why is that so hard for some places?). Fries were solid too -- crispy, not limp. And the kale salad with roasted chickpeas and chicken made me feel like I had my life together. Fresh, simple, and actually satisfying. It's one of those places you stumble into while traveling and then immediately start googling whether you can justify going back the next day.
