    Crispy Thai Sausage Spring Roll

Date night at Butcher & The Boar was nothing short of spectacular! The space strikes that perfect balance of elegant and moody, paired with an unexpectedly great playlist that sets the vibe right away. Food and service were top-tier, and our server Ricky was truly out of this world--fun, knowledgeable, and the kind of person who turns a great meal into a memorable experience. We started with the Crispy Thai Sausage Spring Roll, and wow -- that nam jim sauce was so fire! Then came the Blue Crab Beignets, which were absolutely delicious; the remoulade really makes each bite pop. For my main, I had the Pulled Pork Burger, smoky, sweet, and packed with flavor. Dessert was the Flourless Chocolate Torte, rich, decadent, and the perfect finish to the night. We also tried a few drinks, but the standout for me was the Lady Marmalade mocktail -- bright, citrusy, and perfectly balanced. We walked out with full hearts and big smiles. Thank you Butcher & The Boar for an unforgettable night we'll be talking about for a long time!

Everyone was absolutely so kind at the restaurant from the beginning to the end. The service is absolutely amazing. The blue crab beignets are soft and light. Smoked tri tip comes in medium rare, the potatoes and chimchurri pair perfectly with it. Seasoned perfectly. The blackened Mahi mahi is thick and filling. The corn bread with miso butter is dense and comes warm. The sundae comes with 4 topping choices brought to you at the table. Peanuts, maraschino cherries, chocolate sauce, and miso caramel.

Super great experience at Butcher & The Boar in their newer location in North Loop. Had the tri tip which was great and the highlight was the sausage sampler. Could eat that every day. Great service and awesome environment. Total win.

My wife chose this place for our 16th anniversary and it did not disappoint! The weather was atrocious the night we went (we couldn't reschedule as we had tickets for the Trans Siberian Orchestra) which may have contributed to the restaurant not being super busy but the ambiance was perfect. There were a couple large groups dining and they did a great job of keeping plenty of space between parties so it was never too noisy. Our server (younger Asian guy, shame on me for forgetting his name) was absolutely wonderful. He was ready with suggestions and had answers to any question we asked whether it was drinks or food. Everything was delicious, we ended up getting several appetizers then sharing a single entree. I could literally make a meal out of those crab beignets, they were simply incredible.

Well I loved the original Butcher in the boat so it's no surprise to fall in love with the food all over again. The ambiance is very nice and romantic for a perfect date, slightly dim lights, candle light, not too loud., just a nice setting. The service is good although it can be a bit slow at times. They are very polite and know the menu well too. The food is wonderful and I highly recommend the charcuterie it's the best I've had. You can't miss choosing this place for food or drink.

Do You Remember the Taste of Strawberries?

Went to Butcher and the Boar last night for a fantastic dinner. We got the Blue Crab Beignets, which are not pictured, for a started. We were surprised with how many it came with. The remoulade for dipping was fantastic. I think I would have been happier though if it were maybe 4 pieces with more crab in each than the 8 pieces it came it, but it was still delicious! I got the Tri-Tip which had a fantastic chimichurri over it and the Sour Cream-Chive Mash was to die for. My drink, "Do You Remember the Taste of Strawberries?" was so light and refreshing. I was very happy with the experience overall. Service was slightly on the slower side, but mainly because they had one server working one half of the dining room in anticipation that it wouldn't be too busy. The overall feel of the restaurant was super cozy. I loved the decor and lighting. Definitely a great place for a date night.

This restaurant is in a huge, gorgeous space that nails the industrial-chic aesthetic, complete with high ceilings, dark lighting, and moody decor. Lighting-wise, it's definitely on the darker side, which adds to the ambiance, but the 80s/90s rock music felt a little out of place for the overall vibe. Our server was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, offering great recommendations and walking us through the components of each dish, which we really appreciated. That said, once the food hit the table, the service really slowed down... it took a painfully long time to get boxes and the check, which was frustrating. As for the food: the Brussels sprouts are a MUST. Spicy, crispy, and generously portioned, these were easily one of the best items we had. The pork chop is enormous and 100% worth the price, with a flavorful kick and perfectly charred skin that gives it an amazing texture. The cornbread was another win, packed with real corn and paired with a deliciously rich butter. Unfortunately, the mac and cheese didn't hold up to the rest because it lacked flavor and creaminess. All in all it was a solid and satisfying dinner with a few standouts and some room for improvement.

    Top sirloin and green beans

This place is crazy good! We arrived early for our reservation and asked if we could be seated in the bar booth instead of the main dining area (more our vibe). The hostess was so friendly and accommodating; showed us to our table, then asked if we wanted to see the speakeasy - of course we did! So we walked back to the back to the Char Room. Wasn't your typical speakeasy as it is open, but with dark woods and lovely smoky smell from smoking their bourbons. On the food! We started with fire roasted oysters with a thick farm bread to ensure none of the butter escaped and then the grilled shrimp. Both were insanely yummy. Only thing wrong with the oysters is there was only four and the shrimp need a new name that describes them better as having an amazing chilled flavor with a spicy white sauce. Sam, our server, recommended the shrimp which we had to thank him for -amazing! He also suggested one of the specials, the top sirloin and added that the spicy white sauce from the shrimp would pair with the steak nicely. It certainly did not disappoint! The top sirloin was perfectly cooked, mouth watering and melted in our mouths. As a side, we got the green beans which were sautéed in garlic bacon and a light cream sauce which we could've used for bread dipping but we were so full! For dessert (the liquid kind), we sipped on a 2oz pour of the Old Fitzgerald bourbon 7yr Bottled in Bond. All the wait staff were so attentive and friendly. Sam was awesome, from his sense of humor to his recommendations, all superb. This is a place simply can't wait to come back to!!

Great service, better company! We had way too much food but enjoyed every bite. Yelp requires 85 characters so I had to write this as well

This is a beautiful spot! We came here for happy hour and everything went well. We ordered the burger & chicken sandwich with fries. The burger was okay, I think adding more toppings or reducing the size of the buns would take this to the next pe would take this to the next level. I liked the chicken Sammy, the slaw was on the sweeter side but paired so well. I really enjoyed the flourless chocolate torte. It was like a fudgy, rich brownie with chantilly cream topped with berries. Although this is not on the happy hour menu, it's worth a try. The service was good and I loved the ambiance. It really felt like a speakeasy with good music.

Lovely dinner for a Valentine's Day date. Everything we ordered was delicious and we had a lot of food to take home at the end. Our server recommended a few of his favorites, and so we got those (porchetta charcuterie, brussel sprouts, charred chicken). I'm not a big fan of corn bread in general and probably wouldn't order that again- just because there is so much of it. Highly recommend the charred chicken!! The pork chop was also good, but there was a ton of it. We had it for three meals, basically (two additional meals after taking what we couldn't finish home). Good for that price, though! Overall good experience! The music seemed a little off for the feel of the restaurant, but I think it was because of the Valentine's Day theme. Service was great.

Classy, upscale, professional--an amazing experience from start to finish. The host, runners, kitchen staff, and of course our waiter were all outstanding. Our server was very knowledgeable and helpful with menu suggestions. I tried three different drinks: the Little Piggy Paloma, Kaiju, and Aviation. I should have ordered the Paloma spicy, as it was missing that extra kick. The Kaiju was a bit sweet for my taste but still very enjoyable. The Aviation was the perfect balance--light and smooth. For my entrée, I ordered the Wagyu double-cut chuck eye. It was perfectly cooked, with a pleasantly textured char crust. Every bite was juicy and tender. But what really blew me away was the spinach side dish. My goodness! Fresh, creamy, buttery--it just melts in your mouth. Overall, I had a wonderful time. The entire experience--food, service, and atmosphere--was well worth the price.

I visited Butcher and Boar because I've heard such great things about it and about its back room/speakeasy. Unfortunately I was disappointed by the quality of the food. The location and food are visually appealing but the seasoned curly fries were cold and lacked flavor. The burger was okay but also severely missing seasoning. The servers were really nice. The music is very loud, keep this mind. A few people were reading or studying and I thought it would be difficult to do that with the music volume.

It's a humble-looking spot inside, but it doesn't lack in its food. Most is a self-service situation where you're choosing your table to sit at, grabbing your own water, and bussing your own table if you have the time. Casual spot with some interesting pizza. Boludo seems to be Argentinian-owned and family-run. I ordered the Porteño and asked for extra parmesan because of an Instagram reel I've seen with parmesan covering the crust. Due to a small misunderstanding, they ended up giving me something even better.... A fully parmesan-covered pizza. It was probably the best thing I've eaten that entire trip. Truly a great blend of salt, acid, fat, and heat. The second day I tried the Campo and tried to ask for the same cheese covering but ended up with the style I saw in the reel with the crust covered in cheese. It was still good, but not as good as my first order. They have a pretty solid Caesar salad as well! I would genuinely fly back to try this place again.

I've been here a ton of times but always for take out. The restaurant is self service meaning you sit yourself and get your own water. It was really busy when we went but food came out in about 20 minutes for how packed the restaurant was. The empanadas are a must. I've tried most of them but the carne is my favorite. And the chimichurri is so good with a nice vinegar kick with fresh herbs The Campo pizza comes with chorizo, mushrooms, onions and mozzarella. The best part is the parmesan cheese they put on the crust. I would like the amount of cheese on the crust they show in pictures match what you get in person. Our pizza was really heavy on the mozz and not enough balance of the other ingredients. Also got the flan which has candied pecans and dolce de leche on top and the custard below. It tastes the best when you have a bite of everything but the jar they put it in makes it difficult. If you like flan it's a good dessert to try.
