Made reservations for 6 pm dinner on a Saturday, but there was plenty of space so it didnt seem necessary. It's a more moody interior with a lot of different dog art, but they did have some tables outside on the patio as well. It's definitely a more casual place. ordered a Moscow mule and there fall sangria special drink. The fall sangria was yummy and pretty original. The Moscow Mule tasted quite light and like it barely had any alcohol in it. Also ordered the buffalo wings. They were just OK. The buffalo sauce didn't have much flavor, but I did appreciate that they weren't super spicy like some places are. My friend ordered the black bean burger and said it was OK as well. Our server was really friendly and attentive, which was very nice. there is some paid parking at the front or around the blocks next to it, but try getting there early if visiting during a busy hour because they're probably won't be much left.

I really liked this place. Like a lot. Came in during happy hour which is daily (at least on weekdays) from 2pm to 5pm which usually sucks but was great for me since I had the day off. There's a happy hour menu which includes 6 dollar sliders and other appetizers as well as 2 dollars off drafts and cocktails. Nothing that will blow your mind but still a deal. When I came in, there were about 8 people here. I ordered cheese curds with truffle to line my stomach and bacon wrapped dates. There's a bunch of vegan or vegetarian options so there's something for everyone. The dates were spectacular. Shame only two came in it. The cheese curds were okay. I like a lot of truffle on mine and so more could have been added in my opinion. For beers they have a lot of local and regional beers. Plus they have a handful of cans with THC in it. I had the creamsicle one and it was fantastic! I then followed it up with war pigs which was okay. Stefano was my bartender and he was cool and engaging. The place has a ton of dog photos and picture on the wall. There's a back bar as well and they host a trivia night one day a week. I feel like you can fit easily 100+ people here. Not sure about parking but there are places to park your scooters or bikes outside the place!

Every single thing I ate here was delicious. As a vegetarian, having an almost identical plant-based menu is incredible. Highly recommend the Prooster slider, it was my favorite bite. The cheese curds are delish (not plant-based, FYI). I wish I lived nearby so I could try more on the menu. The staff was super friendly too and there is a very fun and divey feel about the space.

Had really kind & great service here! Staff is very friendly and it's a cool vibe on the inside decorated for Halloween. Food is nothing crazy but a good option with a lot of vegetarian choices

We had a team dinner here while in town for a work conference and had a great time. Love all the dog decor of course, but the big hit was their robust vegetarian/vegan menu. I got the beyond rooster burger and I'm already craving another one. We had a big table (17 I think) and service was fantastic. Great selection of beer as well

I liked the green marvel burger because it wasn't dry and because of the caramelized onions. It was flavorful, a bit messy, but overall a hit. I didn't really like the spicy margarita but I loved the decor though out with all the doggy details. We utilized street parking on our visit Saturday afternoon and the service was fast and friendly.

The is probably my favorite bar in the cities. Great Belgian tap selection, an entire vegetarian menu, and incredibly friendly staff. So glad they seem to be doing better after the pandemic scare. They rotate specials with the season and they're always delicious. Most of their menu items have a well thought out way to make them vegetarian and not just "remove the meat". It's a long building so there's more seating than it first appears but can still fill up really quick on weekends and during sporting events. It's my NE/St. Anthony staple if I don't know where to go or just want a nice Belgian cask beer.

This place had a very fun ambiance and decor! It's all dog-related, hence the name. We came right at open (12pm) on Saturday, thus service was quick and friendly. The seating: the tables are mostly high tops. There are only 7 low-top tables and a small outdoor patio. The Rooster was flavorful and had a very tasty sauce. The pickles that came on it were very thinly sliced...more cucumber than pickle. The Bourbon burger was the perfect balance of sweet and savory. The fries had the perfect amount of crisp! We do wish the meal was a bit cheaper ($17) for the portion size. For the average person, you likely won't need a box for take home. It was a good portion size! * street parking only * 1 stall bathrooms

Inferno pizza - really good with the jalapeños

Don't sleep on this Northeast Minneapolis establishment, which used to be where Bulldog NE was located on the corner of Hennepin and 4th. Great beer selection and elevated bar food with some terrific burgers, house cut fries and tots that you upgrade with truffle, fennel or togarashi - if you grew up where I did, you have a great appreciate for fennel (think porketta). There's a nice variety on the menu, lots of different sandwiches, which I'd like to try nearly all of them and some unique burgers with great flavor - I've had the bourbon brown butter, which has applewood bacon, brown butter mayo and a bourbon glaze, which makes the meal, and fried shallots, as well as the Stuffed Pretzel which has garlic aioli served on a white cheddar stuffed pretzel bun - it's really good! On a recent visit, I ordered one of their pizzas - the Inferno, which has sausage, pepperoni and jalapenos - for the price, it was really good deal and I liked the crust and sauce as well. Stray Dog also does has a nice happy hour, as well as breakfast/brunch on the weekend with some great options. If you are in the neighborhood, be sure to swing by - you'll love the decor, especially if you're a dog person like I am!

A fun place to stop if you're already in the area. I was having a treat-yo-self day and they were one of the few bars open before 4pm on a Friday. I may be a cat person, but I loved all the dog artwork! Especially the Courage The Cowardly Dog piece! I ordered the Togarashi Cheese Curds and a Negroni. I was excited to see togarashi spice on the menu as it's one of my favorites in Asian cooking! The curds were nom. Soft and yummy. The drink was premixed, which I'm not usually a fan of, and I got the last pour. There were a few other couples sitting around the bar and the staff seemed to know everyone by name. Very friendly environment. Street parking. Also near Stone Arch Bridge, about a 15 min walk.

I really enjoy my time on Stray Dog. The decorations are always so enjoyable - particularly as a big dog lover. Every time I go, I try and pick the dog art that matches my mood for the day. Would recommend this restaurant solely based on the decor. The food was good! We asked for nachos without cheese and unfortunately received it with feta (which still is a cheese). We assumed it was because it was so busy that the kitchen staff was stressed. Similar thoughts on the service. We went during trivia night, so it was quite busy, and we could tell the serving staff was stressed. We didn't get as much interaction as we would have hoped (refilling water, getting more bevs, etc.), but we weren't too upset since we picked a busy night to go! Overall, Stray Dog is a wonderful establishment!

I don't understand why this place is so highly rated. It must be the atmosphere, which I admit is nice with the cool and colorful artwork and big screen TVs for the games. I'm certain that the high ratings are not for the food. I had a very average burger and fries that were overly cooked or probably reheated in the grease. My service was absolutely terrible in terms of speed to order, receive food and to get the check. But that's what happens when one person is waiting on the entire restaurant by themselves. The server was nice enough, but it didn't help the experience. I have no interest in going back here, but hopefully it was just a one off issue.

    Momi S.

Ambiance was different with all the dog art. I was different but I liked it. I brought my parents to eat. Waiter was blah. But realized he was the only server there and understood why. We ordered soo much, wontons amazing, caprese salad below average, onion rings tasted like they were fried with fish, Texas chili was delicious, cuckwagon was amazing, peanut butter burger (mid) not enough PB, also the bourbon burger decent.

The latte came garnished with rose petals and was not too sweet. It was a nice way to start my meal. Then came the sweet potatoes, and oh my God, I think they were the best sweet potatoes I've ever had. They were unbelievably, delectably sweet and cooked perfectly. They had an excellent char while being soft on the inside. And the sweetness was complemented nicely by the maple chili crisp, which had just a bit of a kick. The bison skirt steak tacos were also delicious. The bison was so tender and juicy. Full of flavor and cooked superbly. My server wasn't kidding when she said the tacos were big enough to share between a few people. I ate the tacos by myself, and I was beyond stuffed. Alas, I wasn't a big fan of the spoonbread. The flavor wasn't bad, but I didn't care for the texture, which was a little too coarse for me. The dessert was gluten-free, and I could REALLY tell. It was also too spicy for me. The spoonbread was drenched in hot honey. But the sweet potatoes, tacos, and attentive & friendly service more than made up for it. The restaurant isn't cheap (especially for a solo diner), but I've seen worse prices for worse food. And I'm eager to check out their new location the next time I'm in Minneapolis. Note - if you pay with a credit card, it does come with a 3% fee.

Every course and every pairing was explained in detail, and the staff clearly knew their craft. Service - they absolutely delivered. We chose The W.C. Whitney Menu. I had the Premium Wine Pairing, which was excellent and very well done. My wife chose the Temperance Pairing since she does not drink alcohol. This was one of the few disappointments of the evening. Many of the drinks were designed to mimic the taste of cocktails and wine, while my wife does not care for the taste of alcoholic drinks. When it came to the food, there was a range. Some dishes were truly outstanding and worthy of Demi's reputation. Some were good but not exactly great. And honestly, a few were mediocre. With a tasting menu, you expect some variation, but at this level and at this price, mediocre does not cut it. Here's what it really comes down to. I would rate the experience itself 5-stars. I love the pink and green, and the place settings are gorgeous. Bonus: the team is super fast with clearing and bringing replacements so you always have a clean plate. Add in huge windows that brings in tons of light, and you have one of the most photogenic eateries in town. Dario's beverage menu is wonderful, and I especially want to draw attention to their extensive selection of non-alcoholic options. In addition to house-made sodas and creative cocktails, they have a wonderful list of dealcoholized wines--awesome news for anyone who is looking for a zero proof drink. As for the food, Dario knocks it out of the park with a menu that offers options for all tastes. The menu is designed to share, and the variety ensures that there will be something for everyone. The first two dishes that ai sampled were the Gem Lettuces, which our server described as "a Caesar salad on steroids" and the Morel Mushrooms. The Gem Lettuces were delicious--the zippy vinaigrette was better than any Caesar I have had before, the cheese was a fluffy, savory, and salty delight, and the puffed farro was a pleasing alternative to the usual croutons. Bonus: it's fish-free! I'd say that it's less a Caesar salad on steroids and more what happens when the Caesar salad next door goes off to college and has a glow-up. The morels were served on polenta and complemented with Madeira and tarragon. They came with a confit egg yolk. The presentation was strikingly beautiful, and the flavors pure and harmonious. The morels were cooked perfectly and went beautifully with the wine and tarragon--it was a great dish for spring, and everyone enjoyed the layers of texture and flavor. For our pasta choices, we had the English Pea Triangoli that Lu recommended (thanks Lu!) and the doppio. It's easy to see why Dario is known for its pasta--these dishes were amazing. The English Pea Triangoli was otherworldly: sweet peas, snap peas, onions, mint, and pea sprouts come together with butter to make a nostalgic little bite of heaven. It tastes like spring. Sicilian pistachios add crunch and another layer of sweet and salt, and the lightly steamed vegetables and fresh pea shoots and mint also added layers of texture and freshness. Positively superlative. The Doppio was also gorgeous: one side is filled with ricotta and the other sunchoke. Honey adds sweetness and the hazelnuts toastiness reminiscent of browned butter. The rosemary complemented it all. For my dessert, I had the Earl Gray tea cake. It had a very pleasing crumb and subtle sweetness, and the lemon whipped cream was the perfect accompaniment. The sprinkle of toffee cookie added a lovely caramelized crunch, and the bright acidity of the rhubarb was preserved, making for a juicy and refreshing burst of flavor in every bite. Splendid! Thanks to Dario for a wonderful evening!

I've been watching people enjoy the delightful pasta at Dario from afar for too long! I had to…read morecheck it out for myself and I was not disappointed! Tucked away in its own little corner of North Loop, there is some paid parking directly outside otherwise walking from nearby street parking is possible too! The interior of the space is whimsical and fun with green and pink interior design elements, gold accents, and fun artwork! It truly feels like a special escape from reality when inside...similar to an Alice in Wonderland experience. Our server was incredibly friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about what to order. I particularly appreciated how our pasta came out in intentional courses from lightest to heaviest. It absolutely elevated the meal to top notch. Known for their handmade pasta, we didn't mess around with any other menu items...we just ordered four different plates of pasta: Doppio, Torteletti, Rigatoni Alla Vodka, and Tajarin! The Doppio was my favorite, with a unique double filled pasta that had a savory sunchoke filling highlighted with a pop of whipped ricotta. The Rigatoni was cozy and warm, serving up perfect comfort food vibes. The Tajarin was the ocean in a bowl and my partner's favorite, but it was a bit too salty for my palate. The food was top notch and the environment was stellar, but I did feel a bit of cognitive dissonance. The food was so grounded, earthy, and cozy yet the interior was whimsical, playful, and ethereal. This disconnect took my out of the experience a bit. Add in that the price points are a bit high, and I could see why some might have different expectations. Overall, I'm glad Dario is taking swings at providing something truly unique to the North Loop! I will absolutely be returning!
