I called and left a message regarding my sprinkler valve problem. John called me back later that day and scheduled to come out the next morning. He and Bob showed up on time and quickly diagnosed the problem. They replaced 2 solenoids and that solved the issue. In addition, I had 2 leaky faucets in the back that they inspected and quickly resolved for me. They were in and out in less than 1 hour and their price was very fair. I would give the company zero stars but that is not an option. John was quick to answer the phone the first time we called. He scheduled an appointment for a Friday indicating that he would probably complete the job on the same day, if we hired him. The job was larger than expected. He gave us a fair price and we scheduled his team for the following Monday. They showed up but it was raining. John would schedule a day and not show up and then not respond to text or phone calls. After a month of getting the run around we went with another company. This company is unreliable and unprofessional. read more

John responded to my phone message the same day, came to my home the following day, and diagnosed the problem with my sprinkler system right away. I had Hazen Sprinklers come out a few weeks ago and replace 2 leaking sprinkler valves, the next morning I went out to check the valves and they were leaking at the threaded connections. I phoned and left a message for Mr. Hazen, he phoned me back the next day and said they stand behind their work and would try and come out later that day or for sure the next day, as of today I am still waiting for help. I don't know if I did something to upset him,I was courteous and we seemed to get along ok. He was here about an hour and half and after finishing I paid he $308.00/ $130.00 per valve plus parts. His mentioning in his ad has been in business for 39 years + made me feel he was not fly by night. Anyway, I was going to just accept this as a bad business decision on my part but I got to thinking why should I keep quiet about this, I lost $300. dollars in the transaction, so I am posting my concern about what happened to me and hope other potential customers do not have my problem. Emailed with my issues and he gave me a call to find out my area, said he would call back with when I could get on the schedule. Didn't call. I called twice, each time he was more unorganized and didn't remember me. On the third call he kept telling me he couldn't come out today (it was almost 5pm) to which I responded 3 times that I understood as he had told me 4 days before that he was booked up till that day. When I asked again when he might be able to get me on the schedule for a diagnostic, he told me to call some one else as he would have to drive ALL THE WAY from Carmichael to my house (to be fair, it's about 10 miles) and someone closer would get there faster. He clearly didn't want my business in addition to being very unorganized. I called another company who not only responded right away, was able to fit me on the schedule during the same week and by the way, is just as far from me. read more

I contacted several sprinkler repair and landscaping companies because I was experiencing water hammer in my house for a few weeks every time the sprinklers were turned on and the sprinkler heads weren't popping up at all, so my grass was dying. None of the other businesses responded to me. But Hazen went above and beyond to assist even though they had nothing to gain by helping me. I was called and left a long, detailed voice-mail on how to resolve the water hammer without having to either use their services or call in a plummer. I followed their instructions and discovered that air was getting into my pipes because of a broken sprinkler head/ riser and was able to replace it on my own. And now my problem is resolved. The fact that Hazen took the time to help me, didn't try to bilk me with unnecessary repairs or lawn replacement, and instead responded with a sincere interest in helping me was MUCH appreciated !!! You don't get that kind of customer service, honesty, or caring anymore. I used Hazen Sprinklers two years ago to fix my sprinker system. They changed the timer, valves, ( front and back yards) and some sprinkler heads. My valves have since broken and I have left several messages on the voice mail to no avail. It is frustrating when you don't get a response. These people know what they are doing and get it done on time on budget. As a professional property manager I have done business with Hazen Landscaping and Hazen Sprinklers for 25 years or so. I give them 5 stars and recommend them with no reservations. . Easy to get bids, schedule and communicate with. No mess left behind; no wet cars, no tenants upset when they were doing their work. We deal with many different contractors in different locations , Hazen's work has stood the test of time, no redo's, no failures, no problems. If they would long distance travel we would have them do all our work. read more

I would not recommend this landscape company to anyone. The owner was hours late to our initial meeting, his crew showed up and cleaned up my front and backyard a couple of times. After that they did not show up on their scheduled day, I had to call the owner to find out where they were, he never answered or returned my call however they showed up out of the blue the next day. The same thing happened the very next week. Now they have completely stopped showing up. I have tried to contact the owner but once again he doesn't answer or return my call. I completely understand if you are just to busy to service all of your clients but a call would have been professional. read more
