We circled a little to find parking, but they have a public parking lot next to the post office across the street. There is a 2 hour limit you should keep in mind. There were a decent amount of tables inside. We even got a table with outlets for our laptops. You seat yourself. I didn't see staff cleaning the whole time we were there. The staff here seem to be the cool type. As a customer I feel like my being there was interrupting their conversation. My niece ordered a Latte ($5.50) with the Cold Foam ($1.50) and I ordered the Oat Based Spanish ($7) with the Cold Foam ($1.50). They really pushed the cold foam here. We also ordered a Pistachio Croissant ($??) and a Kouign Amann ($??). Their pastry case can you better signage and clear pricing labeled. We both enjoyed our lattes for the most part. The croissant was pretty but it wasn't a tasty fluffy flakey croissant. It was a bit dense. Also neither pastries were heated up. The kouign amann was the most disappointing as we took a bite and it was SOUR. Not feeling it. Neither of us liked it and we tossed it. I think they put passionfruit in the filling and it ruined the whole thing. Had it been labelled we would have selected a different pastry. Before I left I also ordered a Matcha ($7.25) for the road... WARNING... For some reason they put maple and cinnamon in their matcha. I should have been more clear with which one I was ordering. It wasn't like toss-it awful but it was like mhmm, would have liked it better without the maple and cinnamon. Ohh and I interacted with a different staff, but they were also trying to push the cold foam. I already tried it, I don't need any more cold foam. I like the spanish latte, not too excited for the pastries, and staying away from the matcha. The hanging out aspect with my niece was the best thing about my visit.

There's a lot I want to say about this spot but I'm a try and keep it short lol…read more My first time visiting was this past Sunday, May 31st. I had my whole day planned out with a list of events to attend but first I wanted to stop by Patria and grab some coffee to start my morning off. Located in a parking lot next to Wilson Park on Compton Blvd and Alameda Street you'll find this nice cut lawn in front of this small white building, Patria Coffee Roaster. Depending on your time of arrival, the parking lot can be full but it's cool cuz there's also street parking available. I was able to park in the lot. After walking in I was welcomed and greeted with positive energy from 2 young ladies who I forgot their names but we'll just call them "A" and "C" lol. A guy to my right was sitting next to the window working on his laptop. And two others against the wall sipping their coffees and doing whatever on their phones. A customer was at the register ordering while another customer walked in to stand in line behind me. I let her go in front of me while I took pics and recorded footage. I like the atmosphere and space a lot. It has a very nice decor. Artwork, pictures and murals with history displayed along the walls. Grab and cold drinks available for purchase. Nice music playing that wasn't too loud but just right to complement a chill coffee shop vibe. "A" was friendly and patient as shared with her this was my first visit. As I browsed thru the coffee menu before making my selection I noticed more costumes coming in. I ordered a medium sized Americano which is $3.75 but I requested to add some hazelnut creamer as well as some almond milk which totaled out to $4.75 which was quite exceptional to me. Giving the location, the quality of service and the quality of the coffee. Not to mention to overall experience. I even thru in a $1 tip. I support the business and love the space. It feels welcoming and safe. The restroom was clean. They also have many different events held there. If you're ever in the area definitely pull up and check em' out. It's black owned as well. I actually ended up sitting there in the lot sipping my coffee while working on my video to post on social media. The coffee was good and tasteful. Didn't need any sugar. Great vibes and great coffee. You can even go the park right next door and get your steps in or just chill. I definitely recommend coming here. If you're passing thru the area or coming to the city, do yourself a favor and pull up. Check em' out. Grab you a coffee or something. Prices are reasonable and the community is welcoming to all individuals.

I will say, the cafe de olla is very spice forward. I taste a lot of cloves and star anise. A bit different than others I've had but I really liked it. The mex mocha was smooth and rich. I did see that their slushies are highly rated and now that it's getting hot, we'll def be back to try them! Food 10/10 They don't have food items on their menu but there are baked goods! We ordered a cream croissant looking muffin and a chocolate chip cookie. Both were warmed up and were absolutely delicious. Vibes/Ambiance : 10/10 We came on a Friday morning and it wasn't too busy. There were people working there as they have free wifi and outlets. The decor and vibe is cute! They have art on the walls, pictures, plants, community flyers/events, and statements that make you feel safe and at home. The staff is so friendly and welcoming too! There is a little parking lot right next to the shop and we didn't find it hard to find a spot. There is a park next door so I can imagine on the weekends, parking might be a bit tricker. Loved that we found a local gem like Patria and will def be back!

Family owned so that is a point all on its own and they're such a sweet loving family too. I love the brownies and coffee cake and she gave me the corner piece! The space is insanely cool with two main rooms and even a smaller conference room. So many potential services and classes/experiences offered. This is what community means. If u need a place to feel cozy safe and love come here. If you're like me and need a place to work then it's perfect for that too. Can't say enough. I even booked a tattoo with Gewell and I love it (yes there is a small, clean, and licensed room on site dedicated to tattoo!!! And no coffees or food are made there haha).

Located off Bellflower Blvd and South Street in Lakewood, this coffee shop is much more than a place to grab a drink. From the moment you walk in, you're surrounded by art, creativity, and community. The space is open and inviting, with plenty of seating, outlets for studying or working, cozy lounge areas, a conference room available to rent, and even a quieter section with books and softer lighting. I ordered the Banana Bread Dirty Chai, a Matcha, and a slice of coffee cake. The Dirty Chai was sweet and flavorful, but the Matcha stole the show. It was smooth, beautifully balanced, and not overly sweet. The coffee cake was equally impressive. Perfectly sweet with a tender crumb, it's the kind of pastry that pairs beautifully with a morning coffee and is sturdy enough for those who like to dip their pastries into their drink. One thing that stood out to me was learning that the pastries are made by the owner's mother, an award-winning pastry chef. Although I didn't try everything, the display case was filled with beautiful pastries that looked fresh, handcrafted, and made with care. What impressed me most was that PADEKWA kept surprising me. Everywhere I looked, there was another detail that revealed this place is about more than coffee. From the artwork and creative spaces to the community events they host, it's clear that connection and creativity are part of the vision. The best part? I left feeling like I had only scratched the surface. It's the kind of place that makes you want to come back, not just for the drinks and pastries, but to learn more about the people and heart behind it. If you're looking for great coffee, creative inspiration, delicious pastries, and a place that truly feels welcoming, PADEKWA is definitely worth a visit.

You can actually taste the matcha without it being overwhelming, and the cold foam adds a great finishing touch. At $8 each, the portion size and quality feel worth the price. Service was fast and efficient: order at the front window, pick up at the back. My drinks were ready in about 2-3 minutes. I also appreciate that this is a Mexican-owned business, it's great to see local entrepreneurs creating something this high quality. The location fits perfectly with the concept, and I'll definitely be coming back.

Unfortunately, today's visit was disappointing. Both Cookie Butter Lattes we ordered tasted very different from usual--mostly watery and lacking the rich cookie butter flavor I've come to expect. I'm not sure if the recipe has changed, the ingredients were different, or the measurements were off, but the drinks definitely didn't have their usual taste. I'm hoping this was just an off day because I've generally had great experiences here and would love to see the consistency return.
