This is the second time my family has used HD Hookups and we'll definitely use them again in the future. We recently upgraded one of our TV's so had them out to replace the TV, change TV mount to a different style, along with adding a Sonos Arc sound bar, which also had a mount. I paid a little more to have them calibrate the sound bar because I admit I'm a little challenged with that type of stuff. The techs (Omar and Ezequiel?) arrived on time and had the whole project done in about an hour. They were very friendly, showed me the different features of the remotes and answered any questions I had. Thank you HD Hookups for another great job!!

The HD hookups team did a great job setting up our two TVs. They were quick and professional. The swivel mounts increased the functionality of our TVs and the hidden wires make it look sleek and stylish. Would highly recommend!

Tony and Omar are fantastic! They gave us a small window of time when they would arrive and then texted us to let us know exactly when they'd be here (very convenient when you work!). They replaced our receiver and set up our speakers and were very patient while I wrote out all of the steps for TV, Netflix, YouTube, Pandora, Pandora playing outside while watching TV inside.....They even gave me their personal cell phone numbers and told me to call or text with any questions. Extremely poor technical knowledge. The owner is somewhat knowledgeable; but his crew has no technical clue. They did not know how to connect a sub woofer or apple tv. Very unclean installation of TV on the wall. I would not recommend. read more

After posting my original review Diego called me personally and worked through our issues. I am glad to see that HD Hookups has the integrity to make things right even if they didn't go right initially. Our original miscommunication was because too many people were involved at my company and we've worked out those issues. Diego is arranging to pickup our original screen. We cannot get a full refund for the incorrect screen but that is not HD Hookups' fault, no problem there. Diego offered us a credit for the audio cable problem we experienced which we gratefully accepted. Diego also explained the reason why the projector was mounted the specific way it was, which I can completely understand because of a stud that is in the way inside the wall. Diego has been diligently following up to make sure that we are taken care of and we appreciate that very much! read more

HD Hookups receives raving 5+Star recommendations from us! Diego answered my request for service promptly and gave a quote to install 65" tv over fireplace and a 36" tv on dry wall in our exercise room. Oscar and Cesar were wonderful installers. They were courteous, professional, patient and knowledgeable about the service they were providing. Though the actual cost of the project was more than the quote, it was due additional cables/wires that were needed for set up. The overall excellent HD Hookup experience and installation service from Oscar and Cesar was worth the cost. They wired up preexisting Bose wall speakers to the new 65" 4K UHD TV and the sound is absolutely amazing! They also hooked up a receiver and a DVD player at my request without hesitation. Great company with real pro's. They showed up on time and installed my Bose Acouatimass 10 system. It sounds great! A week later they came back to inatall my 70" Sharp tv. The install was flawless. Diego came out and installed two flat screen tv's after it had been totally jacked up by the previous home owners. I had obtained another quote but decided to go with Diego after he answered my questions and was able to work with my difficult schedule. I was appreciative that he was able to get me in so quickly. HDHookups was recommended by one of my employees and I am glad I went with him. I will use him for future installations without a doubt. read more

I called them up after 2 hours of trying to hook up a new receiver. Someone was at my house within a half hour and was able to hook everything without any difficulty. I should have called them first which would have saved me a major headache. read more

When my friend had a TV installed on his near impossible fireplace, I was impressed. When I needed my TV moved onto a new wall, that I thought would be an impossible hang, I called HD Hookups. I was told Tony was the best, and HE IS! Him and Doug did an amazing job, hiding all our cords and hanging our TV straight! YAY. They were fast and did a great job. Total satisfaction with the quality of the work and the price. Next-day service, on time, and even shoe covers! We had an installation over the fireplace with all components hooked up out of sight. Very clean and professionally done. I would call them again for any home theater service. No up-charges for the services. Based on all the good Yelp reviews I called HD Hookups and scheduled the installation of my new Plasma flatscreen and set-up of several components. Rey was the installer and was able to run the speaker wire through the walls so my home theater looks great with all the cabling hidden. Makes for a clean appearance. Robert called me first thing this morning, provided updates on his ETA to our home and arrived when he said he would. Ask for Robert. He was awesome. Called them on the phone to inquire about TV calibration and the girl on the phone said that if I just wanted a TV calibration then probably not but if I had a big project then they would be more than happy to charge me. What a rip off. Don't know how they get 5 stars read more

Today we got our TVs mounted and let me tell everybody. We are EXTREMELY SATISFIED. Rey called me 10 min before he arrived which I love and appreciate that extra call. Rey then arrived at my house and greeted me exchange names and shook hands like a professional but also like a friend which made me comfortable. Rey started working on the mount but in between time ask me would I like it this way or would you like me to do it different. Which tells me that he cares and wanted to make sure I was happy. He mounted one in my room which swivels. I had a hard time where I wanted and wasnt to sure but Rey gave me a vision and had me imagine and made recommendation and now we have it at the perfect place in our room. Thanks Rey! My wife just presses one button and we're streaming, or we're playing 4k disks for movies. Spectacular. I'm particularly pleased that Gregg is always there when you need him. However, on May 15, 2026, you personally texted me stating that you would return my TV within 1-2 weeks and that you intended to make things right. I am posting that message so others can see the timeline for themselves. As of today, more than three weeks after that text and nearly 12 months after you took possession of my TV, I still do not have my TV back and my recent text messages have gone unanswered. You stated in your response that customers would be getting their TVs back soon and that you do not keep customers' TVs. Unfortunately, that has not been my experience. Despite multiple promises over the past several months, my TV remains in your possession. What has been particularly frustrating is seeing recent reviews from customers whose TVs have apparently been repaired and returned while I continue to wait without updates or communication. I am not questioning that personal hardships may have occurred. I am simply sharing my experience as a customer: my 85" Sony TV has been gone for nearly 12 months, I have paid nearly $500, I still do not have my TV back, and I am currently receiving no responses to my messages. Also, my screen was NOT damaged when he took it. It was a board/light issue. I sincerely hope this matter is resolved, and I will gladly update my review if and when my TV is returned.

Javier just finished the complete upgrade of our internet and AV system. I had been working with…read moreanother company for more than 20 years and wanted to stay with them. But they only handled Elan and I wanted to go to Control 4. I interviewed 4 companies and Javier was the only one to point out that we had Cat 3 cable and to get the highest speeds we needed to go to Cat6, which would require some rewiring. Also, other companies me told that I needed an equipment rack to straighten out the cable mess in my cabinet. Javier said he could take care of that without a rack. This would be a cost saving of about $2000! I found the following to be very positive about Javier and the team he works with: 1) Always available (I've contacted him early in the AM and late at 9pm and he always answered promptly, courteously, and knowledgeably. 2) He bid what was needed and got me the best prices possible 3) He was on time and on budget 4) He left the job site clean 5) Everything worked! 6) His bid was half of what my prior vendor bid for a system that provides everything we need and more. 7) Before Javier, we never got more than 200Mbps even though we paid for gigabit service. With Javier's upgrade we now get over 900MBPS everywhere in the house. I include a before and after picture so you can see his handiwork. There was an Amp and AVR in an adjacent cabinet that he was able to consolidate into the one neat setup where everything can be accessed easily. I highly recommend Javier, Alan and Mike for your AV needs. I'll definitely use them again.

This is a quality company, with excellent customer service. After completing an online inquiry, I was contacted by Diego (he left a voicemail and he emailed me too). After a couple of days playing phone tag (they use an answering service, which is my only criticism [and that's only because I'm personally not keen on speaking with people not associated with a company]), we eventually chatted and discussed my installation needs. We scheduled a date ( a mere few days later), between 12 and 1pm, and I was told that I would get a call when the technicians were on their way. As planned, I got the call, which was to let me know that they were running a little late, due to their current install taking a little longer than anticipated. No problem, I fully understand that these things happen and I'd certainly want my technicians to take their time and do the job correctly on my install, so I was more than happy with the situation. So, a little later, they called me again to let me know that they were now less than 15 minutes away. 8 minutes later, the 2 techs arrived. They introduced themselves, shook my hand and immediately placed "booties" over their feet, to protect my floors, before they entered. They came in, we briefly discussed the install (2 rooms) and they immediately got to work. They worked very quietly, efficiently and cleanly, and throughout the whole process they asked me questions, having me approve of positioning of equipment, etc., to ascertain my satisfaction. I was very impressed, to say the least, when, all too often nowadays, customer service can be sub par. I should also mention that all of my AV equipment was brand new and fully boxed, and these guys had no issue with unpacking everything, as well as dismantling any existing systems.These types of install can and do take some time, several hours in the case of an install like mine. Time = money and I feel that, time considered and the professionalism of the techs and their install, the price paid was very fair and reasonable (especially, if you're like me, and are clueless and useless when it comes to potential DIY projects, such as this). I would highly recommend HD Hookups and urge you to seriously consider these professionals next time you require any type of AV installation. Thank you HD Hookups!! read more

I forgot to write a review for this company so here it is. This company is the worst company to deal with for these sole reasons: 1) Claims to be licensed, but is licensed in low voltage (C-7 Low Voltage License). That means he should not be touching any power outlets or extending any. He pretended to use this sales pitch on me. In reality he isn't licensed to do this. A C-7 License allows him to work with energy limited and does not exceed 91 volts. A house outlet is 120 volts. So if he extends your power outlet he is in violation and is not licensed to do so. His license only grants him the power to extend cable wires. These jobs don't require license if done correctly, but to use this as a sales pitch and pretend you are licensed to do so. You can lose your license and your lucky I don't report you. 2) Not professional with reservation time, the company forgot I even booked a reservation. 3) Hidden costs that adds up because he charges for every little thing not mentioned. 4) The guy stayed late because he was slow, and charged me for the extra time he stayed even though its his fault for being VERY slow. 5) What he quotes on the phone isn't the final price after the work is done. 6) He pretends to have more staff but in reality he is the only worker that comes tot he site, that's why he is slow. 7) Obviously he doesn't care about repeat customers so that's why he hikes the price on you. 8) If you have the same amount of filtered reviews (scroll down on his Yelp place page to see his filtered reviews that are fabricated by himself) compared to real reviews on yelp, that means your reviews are from friends or fabricated yourself. 9) There are other companies that do the same job without all the hidden cost. Besides electronics stores, he is the most expensive in town, call around and see for yourself. All independent companies charge close to half his rate. Final thoughts: I would do my research on this guy if I were to use him. For me I would never bind myself to slow price hiking companies. read more

From the very beginning I was impressed with the treatment given by Diego. He was very good at communicating and always returned phone calls and emails in a very timely manner. On the day of install Diego and Lance showed up right on time and made sure to go over the job before starting to make sure all my needs were satisfied. In the beginning I found that the wiring in my house was set up for the speakers to be far apart compared to where I have my TV set up. This was no problem for Lance. He was able to run the wire to a different location so the speaker could be installed correctly. I also had speakers installed in my garage and backyard. Everything was done very clean and tight ( no sagging wires ). I was very impressed with how professional and knowledgeable Lance was through the entire process. He really showed that his main concern was that my system turn out the way that I had envisioned it from the start, and it did! I am very pleased with my new set up and I would highly recommend this company and if I ever need any other work done I have no need to look anyone else up because I have already found the best! Very happy with the installation of my TV! Lance was my installer. He was fantastic. I had the TV mounted over the fireplace. My concern was wires showing! I did not want to see anything coming down from behind the TV or down the wall, etc...I rent my place and was going back and forth as to whether or not I should go to the extent routing the wires through the wall- I was really that adamant. The fact that I rent, really made me consider the alternative- not going through the wall and concealing wires as much as possible. Well the results were great! We hung the TV so it meets the top of the sound bar.... I absolutely do not see any wires! The TV looks great. Lance was very knowledgeable, efficient, and pleasant. I highly recommend this company- and Lance especially!! read more

This company was referred to us by a friend. My initial phone call with Diego was A-OK, as it relates to friendliness and ample knowledge of the process, but I'd have to say that integrity is what wins me over with a business and I found some lacking! Particularly, about the cost and manufacturer of the TV mount. I had done pre-homework and per the info he provided post homework was necessary and ultimately this determined lack of integrity in my opinion! But as for the installers (Tony, very knowledgeable and friendly and Omar) and the work that completed, I will increase the stars to 5..... They arrive on time and ready to work. My experiece was wonderful with HD Hookups. They did a great job! The work was done quickly, and as scheduled. I was given a 1 hour window for my appointment, which is better than the 4 hour windows you get with other companies. I also received a phone call when the installer was on his way. He walked me through what he was going to do prior to getting started, and then completed the job as discussed. The price was reasonable, especaially considering the quality of the work. The price was not determined by the amount of time it took. Which is great, I would rather he take the time need to do the job right and not rush through. HD hook ups came out and installed a 4K TV onto my brick fireplace, this is after hiring the geek squad that never showed up. I called 1 day n advance, and they ame within 24 hours.I would recommend this company to everyone. They came ready for anything. I did not have a long enough HDMI cord, they had one. I did not have an extension cord, they had one. The two guys that came out to hook my TV up was Tony and Omar. Oh and the prices are wonderful. The Geek Squad wanted to charge me almost $500.00 to hook up the TV. This company only charged $250.00, and that included the HDMI cord and extension cord. Spoke with Diego about 8:30am on Saturday morning. He got Omar and Tony to come out to mount my new 65 in Samsung HDTV at noon on the same day. They showed up hour and half late, but they were super quick. Got the TV up in 30 minutes. The price was reasonable. About $300 to hide the wires inside the wall, put up the metal bracket, and install a new outlet. They even help move my dresser to under the TV, hooked up all the components, and made sure everything worked before they left. They offered $20 off if I submit a Yelp review. I forgot I had an account. Otherwise, it would have been $280. Would definitely use these guys again. read more

HD Hookups sent their technician Tony to our house to do an in-wall TV, DVR and DVD player installation in our bedroom. Ours is an old house, so as the work progressed Tony was faced with construction issues that made pulling the wires and cable signal through the wall very difficult. Where other people would have given up and said "not possible", Tony dug in and made it all work. He worked for 4 hours straight without a complaint on a job that normally should have taken 2 hours. When he was done, everything was perfect. HD Hookups is not cheap... but you get what you pay for. We are very happy with the way the job was done. read more

We had a 50" flat screen mounted over our fireplace. We knew it was not going to be an easy job or maybe even impossible with our old fireplace. Glad to say we were very happy with our experience. Bought the tv on a Friday and called HD Hookups and got an appointment for the next day. Great prices for both install and equipment (mount, cables,etc). We had Lance come out & he was on time, very personable and skilled. He figured out how to get it done and the result was a clean install with concealed wires. It looks great. I used HD Hookups Service in the past down on San Diego. But my parents live in Orange County and I receive an email with the news that they were going to open a new location over there. I contact the customer service and purchase a installation for my folks as a gift(great sonny!). I was not there to oversee the installation, but my mom told me that Erick(the installer) was courteous(my mom is so polite) and real professional. Bottom line, my folks are loving having the TV on the wall without the wires all over the place. Now I got the chance to go back for Thanksgiving and enjoy some HD Football. GO Chargers! read more

HD hookup guy came to do over the fireplace TV installation plus hiding the wires. I told him about adding provision for the hiding HDMI cable for DVD player as well. However, when i came to look at the end, he forgot to add HDMI cable and finished the job. I reminded him about DVD player, and he then attached vertically the DVD player on the back of the TV. Guess what, in few days, dvd got stuck and ruined our 3D Blu-ray player. When I called them for fixing this mess, they took down the things, but nothing happened. Worst service ever. We paid close to $1000 for this, and service is horrible and terrible. read more

Hd hook ups is by far the most professional I'n high definition cable installation. I am part owner of the rubicon deli and they have installed a number of things for us. They are very neat and tidy which is important for Our business, they work very quickly an effectively. The work was so good I had them do my home. In this sort of business it is difficult to find someone you can trust and do a worth while job. I'm glad I found a company that meets all my criteria and I will never need to use anyone else ever again. People stop looking! You found the best around. read more

I called HD Hookups to install two TVs after I found out that they were about $50-100 cheaper per TV than any other installer. Mike and Justin installed a 55" LED over a fireplace and a 40" LCD in a bedroom. They worked cleanly and quickly. I appreciated that they brought their own vacuum to clean up after themselves. They also bundled all the wires together for a clean look. Mike and Justin seemed very knowledgeable and offered suggestions that I hadn't thought of. Omar from HD Hookups came over to my house in Encinitas. He did a wonderful job installing my new 55" Samsung TV AND Yamaha Bar Sound. Everything was installed to perfection.
