As a senior citizen, I rely on my home security system for peace of mind--but for months, my ADT system has been non-functional. I made dozens of phone calls, each taking up to an hour just to get past the maze of hold music and transfers. After finally reaching someone who could help, I was told I needed a brand-new system and a new contract. So I agreed, trusting that this would finally resolve the issue. Wrong. A technician came to my home and spent over 6 hours trying to install the system--only to tell me it wouldn't work without new motion sensors, which I had to pay for out of pocket. I was also misled into thinking the new system would work with my existing cameras. It doesn't. The best part? After all that time, effort, and money--the new system doesn't even work. It constantly malfunctions, giving false alerts and telling me doors are open when they're not. Total failure. This is a company that profits off fear, offers misleading sales pitches, fails to deliver basic service, and then has the audacity to lock you into a contract. Their "customer service" is a joke--disorganized, evasive, and completely indifferent to your time and safety. Do yourself a favor--don't walk, RUN from ADT.

Most of the time she herself goes out of her way and provides rides to people who dont have cars. She believes in team work and helps us all work together to get a job done. She is flexible with scheduling, often covering shifts herself when people cant/dont show up I have always gotten my check on time. Often people give her old addresses to send checks and she does her best to help them out as soon as they call her to get a check to the right address. She has been in Florida and Laughlin on vacation and took care of payroll issues. She wont throw you into a job without making sure you are properly trained. She makes sure we get our breaks. Many times she has provided us lunch/dinner and water out of her pocket. She is a fair person and often forgives her employees when they make a mistake. We have been ADT customers for 13 years, ever since we were robbed while doing a large home…read morerenovation, including new windows and sliders, so of course we had no active alarm system. The installation was good, not great, but we have a large house and that creates some difficulties with system which is not hardwired. We have found the wi-fi connection to be perfect for our purposes, including simply using our phone if we were already in bed and too lazy to get up and walk to the main panel to set the night "stay" alarm. The monthly bill is within our capacity, but it might be more than others would want to pay. And special technical service is very expensive, $59 for the service call, but a lot more if onsite work is needed, starting at $189 for the first half-hour. In the past, one could get phone help, including direct conversation with technical support, but that seems to have disappeared. We discovered this when the battery in a motion detector sensor started to die and we bought a new battery, only to find that we could not open the sensor to get at the battery itself, even after watching videos from YouTube and ADT itself.

I have problems with ADT…read more I have an alarm constantly going off all day long. I spent three hours on the phone with support department last Thursday and was disconnected four times. Support could not fix it. We tried every suggestion and even did a video connection for them to review the equipment and hear the beeping. They had me disconnect all of the smoke alarms and the beeping continued, they had me remove all the batteries and it still beeped. They had me reset the system and it still beeped, they had me remove the batteries from the keyboard and it still beeped. They had me shut down the system and it still BEEPED! I am checking the one star box only because there is no zero or negative stars. STAY AWAY FROM ADT I had to wait almost a week (Wednesday) for a service call. The service person checked everything and could not resolve the problem and told me it would cost $180.00 an hour to research the problem and I need to call the service department again. I called Tuesday and told them I want to cancel after 10 years and was told they will send a repair person again and they would waive the service call charged. I was told that the representative would be here between noon and 4:00 pm so I had to take off from work. THE SERVICE REP NEVER SHOWED UP AND NEVER EVEN BOTHERED TO CALL. This is the worst customer care I have ever experienced and lack of response. I will be cancelling my account in the morning. ADT shows no concern for loyal customers. I will suggest to anyone reading this, DO NOT USE ADT SECURITY under any circumstances. There are many companies that can be used for less money and will respond to customers .
