This is a quality company, with excellent customer service. After completing an online inquiry, I was contacted by Diego (he left a voicemail and he emailed me too). After a couple of days playing phone tag (they use an answering service, which is my only criticism [and that's only because I'm personally not keen on speaking with people not associated with a company]), we eventually chatted and discussed my installation needs. We scheduled a date ( a mere few days later), between 12 and 1pm, and I was told that I would get a call when the technicians were on their way. As planned, I got the call, which was to let me know that they were running a little late, due to their current install taking a little longer than anticipated. No problem, I fully understand that these things happen and I'd certainly want my technicians to take their time and do the job correctly on my install, so I was more than happy with the situation. So, a little later, they called me again to let me know that they were now less than 15 minutes away. 8 minutes later, the 2 techs arrived. They introduced themselves, shook my hand and immediately placed "booties" over their feet, to protect my floors, before they entered. They came in, we briefly discussed the install (2 rooms) and they immediately got to work. They worked very quietly, efficiently and cleanly, and throughout the whole process they asked me questions, having me approve of positioning of equipment, etc., to ascertain my satisfaction. I was very impressed, to say the least, when, all too often nowadays, customer service can be sub par. I should also mention that all of my AV equipment was brand new and fully boxed, and these guys had no issue with unpacking everything, as well as dismantling any existing systems.These types of install can and do take some time, several hours in the case of an install like mine. Time = money and I feel that, time considered and the professionalism of the techs and their install, the price paid was very fair and reasonable (especially, if you're like me, and are clueless and useless when it comes to potential DIY projects, such as this). I forgot to write a review for this company so here it is. This company is the worst company to deal with for these sole reasons: 1) Claims to be licensed, but is licensed in low voltage (C-7 Low Voltage License). That means he should not be touching any power outlets or extending any. He pretended to use this sales pitch on me. In reality he isn't licensed to do this. A C-7 License allows him to work with energy limited and does not exceed 91 volts. A house outlet is 120 volts. So if he extends your power outlet he is in violation and is not licensed to do so. His license only grants him the power to extend cable wires. These jobs don't require license if done correctly, but to use this as a sales pitch and pretend you are licensed to do so. You can lose your license and your lucky I don't report you. 2) Not professional with reservation time, the company forgot I even booked a reservation. 3) Hidden costs that adds up because he charges for every little thing not mentioned. 4) The guy stayed late because he was slow, and charged me for the extra time he stayed even though its his fault for being VERY slow. 5) What he quotes on the phone isn't the final price after the work is done. 6) He pretends to have more staff but in reality he is the only worker that comes tot he site, that's why he is slow. 7) Obviously he doesn't care about repeat customers so that's why he hikes the price on you. 8) If you have the same amount of filtered reviews (scroll down on his Yelp place page to see his filtered reviews that are fabricated by himself) compared to real reviews on yelp, that means your reviews are from friends or fabricated yourself. 9) There are other companies that do the same job without all the hidden cost. Besides electronics stores, he is the most expensive in town, call around and see for yourself. All independent companies charge close to half his rate. Final thoughts: I would do my research on this guy if I were to use him. For me I would never bind myself to slow price hiking companies. read more

From the very beginning I was impressed with the treatment given by Diego. He was very good at communicating and always returned phone calls and emails in a very timely manner. On the day of install Diego and Lance showed up right on time and made sure to go over the job before starting to make sure all my needs were satisfied. In the beginning I found that the wiring in my house was set up for the speakers to be far apart compared to where I have my TV set up. This was no problem for Lance. He was able to run the wire to a different location so the speaker could be installed correctly. I also had speakers installed in my garage and backyard. Everything was done very clean and tight ( no sagging wires ). I was very impressed with how professional and knowledgeable Lance was through the entire process. He really showed that his main concern was that my system turn out the way that I had envisioned it from the start, and it did! I am very pleased with my new set up and I would highly recommend this company and if I ever need any other work done I have no need to look anyone else up because I have already found the best! Very happy with the installation of my TV! Lance was my installer. He was fantastic. I had the TV mounted over the fireplace. My concern was wires showing! I did not want to see anything coming down from behind the TV or down the wall, etc...I rent my place and was going back and forth as to whether or not I should go to the extent routing the wires through the wall- I was really that adamant. The fact that I rent, really made me consider the alternative- not going through the wall and concealing wires as much as possible. Well the results were great! We hung the TV so it meets the top of the sound bar.... I absolutely do not see any wires! The TV looks great. Lance was very knowledgeable, efficient, and pleasant. This company was referred to us by a friend. My initial phone call with Diego was A-OK, as it relates to friendliness and ample knowledge of the process, but I'd have to say that integrity is what wins me over with a business and I found some lacking! Particularly, about the cost and manufacturer of the TV mount. I had done pre-homework and per the info he provided post homework was necessary and ultimately this determined lack of integrity in my opinion! My experiece was wonderful with HD Hookups. They did a great job! The work was done quickly, and as scheduled. I was given a 1 hour window for my appointment, which is better than the 4 hour windows you get with other companies. I also received a phone call when the installer was on his way. He walked me through what he was going to do prior to getting started, and then completed the job as discussed. The price was reasonable, especaially considering the quality of the work. The price was not determined by the amount of time it took. Which is great, I would rather he take the time need to do the job right and not rush through. HD hook ups came out and installed a 4K TV onto my brick fireplace, this is after hiring the geek squad that never showed up. I called 1 day n advance, and they ame within 24 hours.I would recommend this company to everyone. They came ready for anything. I did not have a long enough HDMI cord, they had one. I did not have an extension cord, they had one. The two guys that came out to hook my TV up was Tony and Omar. Oh and the prices are wonderful. The Geek Squad wanted to charge me almost $500.00 to hook up the TV. This company only charged $250.00, and that included the HDMI cord and extension cord. Spoke with Diego about 8:30am on Saturday morning. He got Omar and Tony to come out to mount my new 65 in Samsung HDTV at noon on the same day. They showed up hour and half late, but they were super quick. Got the TV up in 30 minutes. The price was reasonable. About $300 to hide the wires inside the wall, put up the metal bracket, and install a new outlet. They even help move my dresser to under the TV, hooked up all the components, and made sure everything worked before they left. They offered $20 off if I submit a Yelp review. I forgot I had an account. Otherwise, it would have been $280. Would definitely use these guys again. read more

HD Hookups sent their technician Tony to our house to do an in-wall TV, DVR and DVD player installation in our bedroom. Ours is an old house, so as the work progressed Tony was faced with construction issues that made pulling the wires and cable signal through the wall very difficult. Where other people would have given up and said "not possible", Tony dug in and made it all work. He worked for 4 hours straight without a complaint on a job that normally should have taken 2 hours. When he was done, everything was perfect. HD Hookups is not cheap... but you get what you pay for. We are very happy with the way the job was done. read more

I used HD Hookups Service in the past down on San Diego. But my parents live in Orange County and I receive an email with the news that they were going to open a new location over there. I contact the customer service and purchase a installation for my folks as a gift(great sonny!). I was not there to oversee the installation, but my mom told me that Erick(the installer) was courteous(my mom is so polite) and real professional.
