Communication with the owner has been absolutely excellent. At the end of each day, he used a aerial camera to take photos of what he had done that day and to tell me what he was going to do the next day. When I started this work I had gotten three estimates from three different companies. This company was not the cheapest, but I do believe that they put a quality product on my house. I waited for 2 large rain events and ended up not having any leaks but instead it was a condensation issue due to the extreme temperature difference outdoors vs indoors. This review was for a job HD Roofs did a few years ago. The home insurance told us when we were refinancing the mortgage that we needed a roof inspection and probably replacement. It turned out we had like 3 layers of shingles which was not code. There was also some water damage in a few spots. They quoted us a reasonable price, and I knew they cared about quality when they recommended shoring up the sheathing with plywood. Pricey upgrade, but if it helps the roof for another 55 years, it's worth it, and I knew the original shiplap was in rough shape. We opted for a reflective shingle that could help lower energy bills during the summer. I don't know if it made a huge difference, but I somehow remember the house not heating up nearly as fast as in previous years. The roof was done on time, and we got the refi locked in before the rate hike around the time of the pandemic. read more

I had an emergency this week and HD Roofs Inc came through for me when others took their sweet time. I had a beehive removed that required the removal of a portion of my roof. Neither of the two repair companies that the Bee people recommended even bothered to call me back. I talked to 4 other companies and they took their sweet time getting back to me. When I talked to Ace the project manager from HD Roofs he gave me a quote that I saw the next morning and he said I can get it done Thursday which was literally the day after I signed the contract. He prioritized my project as an emergency since my roof was wide open to the elements. Furthermore they packed the area in with insulation and sealed it to leave no room for future Bee infestations because Bees can smell or detect old hives. Having the extra insulation and adding sealant will help ensure that the bees have no place to rebuild a hive. That's exactly what the Bee removal company told me I needed to do so the fact they did that showed they are pros who know what they are supposed to do up there and Ace came by several times to take pictures and make sure his team at my house was doing it properly. They went above and beyond by making time when other companies thought my job was too small to make it a priority. They also replaced broken tiles across my roof and replaced the trim next to the hive that was rotting due to the elements. They left my roof better than it was before the damage occurred. HD Roofs replaced my roof and did some major rafter replacement/ repair (due to termite damage) in 2020. I had an improperly installed skylight as well, which leaked and caused damage in my home. (The original reason I called for a quote.) They repaired and replaced this as well. It was disappointing to get the roof off and find so much damage, but I was grateful for the competent team who repaired this in a timely fashion. Eight 20' replacement rafters were delivered the next day. No delays. I also got the energy saving coating, which has kept heating and cooling efficient to this day. Two days ago, my skylight was locked open. It wouldn't close. It made all of the sounds, but nothing moved. I looked up the warranty info on the Velux skylight, and they recommended step one was to contact the original installation contractor. I sent an email to Joe, and within 24 hours, he got back to me and made an appointment to come by today. He was on time, got up on the roof and discovered my problem and fixed it! It's nice to know that a company that you paid a lot of money to 5 years ago, will immediately respond and inspect another supplier's warranty item. So grateful. read more

Had a good experience with HD Roofs. Our project was small so not many other roofing companies were interested. The cap/cover to one of the roof's vents flew off one windy day. I wasn't even sure if it came from our house. I talked to several (5+) roofing companies; most required a minimum of $2.5-3k and barely did any inspection, if at all. With HD Roofs, they promptly scheduled an inspection despite my restricted time slots. This was done using images from a drone. They gave us a reasonable initial estimate and did not act like car salesmen like some other companies' tactics. I requested afterwards to touch up/seal any open gaps while they were up there so they provided an updated estimate that was still reasonably acceptable. In the end, they replaced a couple of caps, resealed some additional gaps and also painted the affected areas to match the color of the house... all in a few hours. I appreciate HD Roofs for being punctual, communicative, reasonably priced and taking on a minor project that many others thought wasn't worth their time. read more

We purchased our house in Late 2023 and it was in bad need of a new roof. Ace gave us a great price on asphalt shingles. He provided a quote for gutters as well and handled everything having to do with that other contractor. We had a freak storm come in one night right after the old roof had been removed and Ace called me one night and said they were coming over to tarp the roof because he had been watching the forecasts closely. From Rocky Start to Stellar Finish: Our Roofing Experience We initially contacted HD Roofs after noticing their work in our neighborhood and receiving a recommendation from a neighbor. Their quote seemed fair compared to other roofing companies, and we appreciated their approach. Ace, our contact, was thorough in answering our questions and confirmed a start date. Ace was the only contractor we met with who automatically asked if we wanted them to remove the old wooden structure covering our patio. He thoughtfully included it in the overall job, which removed a significant pain point for us. However, on the agreed-upon day, no one showed up. After some back-and-forth, we learned there had been an internal miscommunication (a crew did finally show up later in the day). This left us disappointed and worried about the project's future, given such disorganization on day one. Ace listened to our concerns and reassured us. As the project progressed, we witnessed a remarkable turnaround that completely changed our perspective. The team's performance from that point on was excellent, demonstrating professionalism and skill. The roofing team that arrived at our home was exemplary. They demonstrated a high level of professionalism, paying meticulous attention to detail in their work. We were particularly impressed by their overall tidiness; they kept the work area clean and organized throughout the project, minimizing disruption to our daily lives. Though we find nails etc. from time to time, we still appreciate that they went around our house with a big magnet at the end of each day to actively pickup as much small metal debris as possible. We did face some delays due to shipping issues with our skylights. However, Ace kept us informed about the situation, worked diligently to find solutions, and remained committed to delivering a quality result despite the challenges. Cutting the skylight openings in our vaulted ceiling also took longer than planned due to our rafters being more closely spaced than is standard, but Ace and his team handled the situation well. He brought in a structural engineer and made it a point to make the additional costs for blueprints as affordable as possible. Heads up: If you're adding skylights in Cypress, be aware that the city Building Permits Office may not approve your roofer to install skylights. In our experience, the city insisted that the installer had to have some kind of window installation license or a general contractor's license. Luckily, we worked out another solution. The follow-through demonstrated by HD Roofs was exceptional. They didn't consider the job done until every detail was perfect and we were completely satisfied. This dedication to customer satisfaction turned what could have been a mediocre experience into an outstanding one. Now that the project is complete, we couldn't be happier with the results. The new roof looks fantastic and has made a noticeable difference in our home's temperature during this hot summer. After the great experience I had with them on my home I had no hesitation to refer them to my parents when they where looking into re-roofing their home. I hope this review is helpful since I know how hard it is to find an honest and quality contractor. After looking at the house Ace was very responsive and quick to send us out a quote. He then gave us options as far as what material we can choose from and the price difference. During the walk he mentioned some rafters had a lot of termite damage and they would have to be replaced ,which was nice to know so we can expect the additional cost before we started and not once the roof was already removed. What I liked best about this company is how well they worked with us so we can stay within budget. I requested someone to come out to give a diagnosis and estimate on a roof leak. I had to follow-up multiple times and never received an estimate. My "job" was probably too small for them, but still unprofessional to give false hope. 2/8 - A tech came out 2/9 - I asked for the estimate and they said it takes 3-4 days to give the estimate 2/15 - Followed-up on the estimate and they said I'd receive it by the end of the day 2/16 - They claimed the estimate was sent out, so I asked them to resend it in addition to another email address. All in a days work (literally) We recently had some minor wind damage to the Ridge Cap Shingles on our asphalt roof. I used the Yelp app to request a quote during the holiday weekend and they responded to my email the very same day (wow). I did not expect anyone to be working in a Sunday. We set up an appointment through the app and Juan came out later in the week to do an estimate. Juan was very nice, helpful, and not pushy at all. He sent me a digital estimate with all the work outlined in a very professional manner. Later we scheduled the work to be done with Ace, another very nice guy, again no pressure, no up-selling, and very helpful. I had bought a 1966 Mobile Home in 2019 in HB. The mobile home was complete remodel inside. Still working the exterior and electrical. With that being said, the roof was in horrible condition!! We were getting leaks etc and prying for no rain. Since we have a mobile home, our choices of looking for a roof repair company was limited, due to State of Cal lic permits. In Oct of 2020, I came across HD Roofs, Inc. To me, they looked like a repitable company. Hoping for the best, the quality and experience will meet that expectation! I cannot say enough about HD Roofs, Inc. First of all, they accepted us, as a Mobile Home! We ended up having to reconstruct and insulate the roof. This is during COVID. So therefore we had to pay the lumber increase etc.. We ended up paying a lot for the roof, then expected. Juan went over all the costs with me in detail. I have a friend who is a roofer but doesn't work on mobile homes (due to State permits etc) and the costs were as they should be. I have to say, during COVID paying a lot of money for the roof to be re-constructed and replace the skylights, I am very thankful everyday to HD Roofs, Inc! The quality of the roof and skylights are done very professionally and the service was great! When I have my Handyman install our Christmas lights etc, he always compliments the quality of our roof! We bought our home last year, with an old roof that is long due for replacement. I found a handful of roofers on yelp for quotes, and decided to go with HD Roofs because their quote was detailed and Juan seemed genuine and profession. I booked with them on May 2023. But due to poor weather conditions earlier this year, it was pushed all the way back to September. It was hard to get a hold of them at first, but after being assigned to Ace, the communication was much better. Ace was very professional and went through all the wood that may or may not need replacement. There was a price shock that when we tore down the roof that there were ALOT of damaged wood that needed to replace. When given the final quote including wood replacement, we asked our contractor friend and he deemed the price reasonable. At that point, we proceeded with the project. Just had my 50 year old roof replaced by HD Roofing and can't begin to tell you how pleased I am. I had been researching how to correctly vent my attic space for a year and knew exactly what I wanted. Along came Joe who was happy to do it to my specifications but also offered some alternatives which I took advantage of and greatly improved the look and venting of my roof. Joe walked me through every step from tear off to tiny finish details and ended every conversation or phone call with, "Do you have any questions?" I needed a massive amount of wood replacement due to termite and water damage and his carpenters Jose & Moses were incredible. Jose suggested that since he was replacing so many rafter tails, why not replace a few more and change the roof line of the house and eliminate the tacky awning I had on the second floor deck. I didn't expect a workman to come up with new design details to improve the look of my house or to take the effort to miter all the soffit corners instead of just overlapping them. Hats off to the crew. I needed a new vent installed for an added bathroom fan and bought the one I wanted. Joe advised against it but installed it; after the first rain I knew why. He spent 30 minutes looking at the roof, walking all parts of it, looking in the attic and inspecting the side walls. We determined that our roof is just fine and we have to fix our paint. But, they could have easily sold me a bag of goods and they did not. Also, I tried to tip him for his time and honest hard work, but he refused to accept it. For small jobs, it's hard to find roofers that show up. Often then cancel last minute. These guys care and no job is too small for them. Waited several weeks for an estimate from HD Roofs for repair to my residential roof in Long Beach, which was scheduled for today at 12 noon. . .except not. Because I hadn't gotten a confirmation call, I called around 12:30 to check if I had actually gotten on the calendar. The receptionist went to two computers to finally find my appointment at 3:00. The unfortunate tech was tasked with driving from a client in Riverside to my home on a Friday afternoon. He arrived at 5:02. If I understood correctly, he said that I didn't show up on his schedule but the company didn't want to make me wait another few weeks. (That would not have happened.) At the end of his inspection, he decided that the company could not repair the roof. I understand that every company has standards and conditions of work, but the carelessness with which my *scheduled* appointment was handled speaks volumes. It's always great when at the end of a project, you think that you picked the right company. That's how we feel about our experience with HD Roofs and we recommend them without hesitation because of the workmanship and customer service. Ace acted like our partner, listening to what we wanted and helping us achieve it. For example, he supplied us with addresses where we could see different lightweight tile roofs in different colors since we didn't feel comfortable selecting our roof based on pictures in a brochure or website. We didn't realize that we needed to replace our roof and skylight until we were midway through a major relandscaping project. Ace was sensitive to our concerns about protecting our newly installed pavers and described the steps he would take, such as laying down plywood on our driveway and only disposing of the old material from one protected spot. Since we needed to have the exterior of the house painted and we have two lower roofs, where the painters can only paint the areas above them by stepping on those roofs, he suggested doing our project in two steps. The first step involved doing everything other than installing the new roof tile and skylight and then, after the painters painted our house, HD Roofs came back to complete the job. Once the project was underway, we were impressed with how much time Ace spent at the job ensuring that everything was going well, keeping us informed and texting lots of photos. He helped us find contractors to help us with two unexpected problems we had: finding a plumber to lower the gas line for one of our fireplaces that was in the way of the new roof and finding a contractor to repair the brick on one of our chimneys. When I said that I didn't like the way something looked on my neighbor's roof because the concrete color was too light in comparison to the roofing tile, Ace told us that he could color the concrete to match our tiles better and made several samples so that we could choose the one we thought looked best. We are also very happy with our new Velux glass skylight and the two new gutters that were installed. We were concerned with how one of them would look since it runs the whole length of our three-car garage and is right in the front of the house, but it is barely noticeable because of how well it was positioned on our fascia board. I recently got my roofing replaced by HD ROOFS and I am very satisfied with their work. It took some time to get actual work started but they finished job in 7-8 days. The good thing is they inspect all of your inside and outside existing roof material like rafters, plywood, fascia, downspouts for any damage and termites and let you know and you can replace them with additional estimates they give. They also replaced insulation for high ceilings, put new rain gutters, paint job and all work is of superior quality.
