While they were pretty late to the scheduled appointment, I was completely fine with it because they did an amazing job installing our TV above our fireplace. We live in a 100-year old home with plaster walls, but that didn't seem to phase them at all. They were even willing to do a site survey prior to the installation to discuss our options, considering the limitations of the space, and they were really easy to get in contact with. Two stars for the service this company provided. The project was mounting a 42-inch tv above a non-functional fireplace, drywall and studs. All in all, if you're at home ALL THE TIME and have total flexibility and are ok spending some cash, I think HDInstalls does high quality work. But, that all comes at the expense of tolerating their poor customer service and questionable practices. See below. Pro's: - By all accounts, they did high quality work. This was our first experience having a tv mounted, so we have nothing with which to compare their work, but aesthetically it looks good. - The installers were friendly, seemingly worked quickly but intelligently (the install ended up being more complicated than anticipated because of the small amount of space between the brick, studs, and drywall). - HDMI cable given on the house after discovering our cord wasn't long enough to reach the cable box. Con's: - Installers arrived 20 minutes after the time frame. - After the install was complete (we thought) the installers asked us if the TV had wifi,to which we replied no, the internet was wired. To their surprise (this was how it was connected before they started), they said that they weren't able to connect the tv to internet because our cat-5 was too short. They explained we had to order a longer one and make another appointment, which they would do for free (which was nice of them). We scheduled an appointment for a week later between 7-9pm. - Had to sweep and wipe down a bit after they left. - At about 8pm on the appointment date (weeknight), the installers called they were running late and wouldn't arrive until 10pm. We had to reschedule, as we're asleep by then. Rescheduled for the following week between 11-1pm during my vacation. - On day of the appointment, I reached out around 12:00pm and was told they were running late and wouldn't arrive closer to 3pm. We had to reschedule as we had plans during that time. Finally, on the fourth try the installers arrived within the time frame. - I had called HDInstalls after the third rescheduling to voice my concerns about the lateness and frustration having to continually reschedule. I was simply looking for an apology, but was given none. I was told two things: 1) because they were doing us a favor by coming out at all, they wouldn't prioritize our appointment, and 2) the time frames they give customers are estimates. My feedback to them on these two points were as follows: 1) I don't agree with this practice, but if this is how the company operates, then share that with the customer. What customer wants to know they aren't a priority and so should be ok being at the mercy of the company? With this information up front, we may have decided to just go with another company who would prioritize us. 2) It's my understanding that time frames are a strategy companies use to give their installers flexibility while maintaining a certain expectation with the customer. To me, if a time frame is flexible, then what's the point of it at all? Why not just pick a time and tell the customer "you're appointment is for 10am, but just be available all day because your appointment time is completely irrelevant. - The installer broke our cat-5 cable, and had to replace it with one in his truck. - Their service was a bit pricier than others I researched, but we went with them because of their good reviews. read more

Absolutely amazing customer service from start to finish. Stephan took my call at 8pm which shocked me as businesses don't normally operate this late. I scheduled the appointment and Charles was assigned to our install. Both gentlemen were incredibly polite, professional and committed to providing exceptional customer service. The install took a little longer than expected due to the install of our previous mount, but Charles worked through it and was able to overcome every obstacle, even having longer HDMI cables in his truck for me to purchase since mine were too short. Greatest guys to work with! I had a change in my schedule the day of installation and they worked with me to coordinate a time that would work for me the same day. They came prepared with all of their needed equipment and anything they might have thought I didn't have (an extra mount should mine not work...longer HDMI or electric cables should mine not be long enough). They were extremely polite and walked me through exactly what they would be doing and cared about what my expectations were. Stefan came by the same day I called! He originally scheduled me two weeks out, then noticed he had a house call that day not far from my apartment, and squeezed me in. He showed up just when he said he would. He fixed the cable problem in my high rise apartment quickly and cleaned up afterward, putting the entertainment center back better than it had been and hiding all the wires. Three technicians before him had had no idea how to fix my problem. The cable wires inside the wall were a mess and probably had been since they were installed in 1974. I was so pleased with his work I asked him if he could get my system ready for a sound bar, and then come back and install it. He replied that I didn't need a sound bar, that my TV had great sound. When I looked at him quizzically he turned on the TV and realized the sound system had never been properly programmed. Fixing this took him another two minutes. The sound is so good i now play all my music through the TV. I'm actually sort of sad I don't have more electronic problems for Stefan to solve. read more

I found this place through searching yelp and chose them because of all of the reviews here - they lived up to them for sure. Michael and Stefan came to install a 60" LCD above our living room fireplace and a 32" LCD in our bedroom on 11/14. They were on time and got the work done! Bedroom was simple but the living room was a bit tricky due to difficulty in snaking so many wires through the wall. They eventually were able to get it through and it came out beautifully! Since we have a very old house, they couldn't completely hide them, but they covered them in a way that makes it look nice and clean. We love it! Awesome job!! Earlier today, Michael and Emil installed a 65" above our fireplace and 32" in the bedroom. Both installs look amazing! Stefan stopped by on Tuesday and gave me a quote for the job that was very reasonable vs. other estimates. Both TVs were installed on Friday of the same week. These guys went above and beyond. All wires are neat and concealed. I had some extra speaker wires hanging from a wall outlet....no problem, they tucked them away and put a cover on it for me. They clean up everything when finished. These guys are great. They came in on short notice and installed 3 TV's. Two above my fireplace and 1 in my bedroom. The house was not wired for the TV's to hang up on the walls and they did an excellent job, cleaned up their mess and offered additional help after the cable company came out. They ran 2 HDMI's on each of the 3 TV's and you would think the house was built this way. The cable installer even commented when he came out what a great job they did! Will use them in the future. They did a good job. I was under the impression that they were going to install an outlet behind the TV as that was what all the other installers had done in my other rooms. There were also a couple loose cables that hung down behind the tv a couple days after they left. I was easily able to tape them up and hide them though.
