Heard about the food here so had to check it out. I Thought it would be a sit down airconditioned restaurant which it was not. It was more of a casual General Store / pick up window. They did however have a place with canopies and chairs to sit at to the side (maybe 2 large picnic tables) and there was even a bathroom right next door. The staff consisted of one or two young girls and a cook. The staff wasn't friendly or wasn't hostile either just doing their job. Menu was very limited and I forgot to take pics I guess I was excited to grind anyways I know they had hamburger curry (because thats what I had) and it was good!! But for the portions size it wasnt exactly cheap (nothing is cheap anymore ) Thier curry was good though!! My mind is a blank on to what else they had because I was hungry ... The food is made to order. We got two teriyaki burgers and a TnT onion rings that's drizzled with sriracha mayo and furikake. The sandwich can come with fries as a combo if you want. The have an area with 5 or 6 picnic tables and chairs under a covering and it's cool cause you feel the breeze from the ocean. It's a great place to eat before, during or after a drive around the windward side. You see people coming in from fishing or from chartering boats that come in from the sandbar. After chef Mark Noguchi left I heard mixed reviews of He'eia General Store. And I'm happy to report that the hamburger steak I ordered was delicious. Homemade hamburger patties smothered in their homemade gravy, topped with grilled onions, a scoop of rice and Mac salad. Quintessential local plate lunch. The hamburger patties were a little thin, but clearly they're homemade there's a bits of green onion, which was surprise along with some regular chopped onions. Beef seasoned very well. I'd read it eight out of 10. The Mac salad was also par with most plate lunches around the island simple elbow, macaroni mayonnaise it probably had a little bit of onion powder in it. bits of carrots. Any can't forget about the view. You get a stunning Vista of Kaneohe Bay as well as the Koolau mountains. We're so lucky to be able to live here. read more

I visited He'eia Pier a couple weeks ago and got a quick, casual lunch at the He'eia Pier General Store & Deli. The store was small and charming. It felt cramped, though not in a bad way, with five people in it. We ordered at the register and took our seats at a picnic table on the patio. Service was fast and friendly, and the pier was pleasant, very peaceful. I was on California time and ravenous by lunch. I saw chicken katsu on that plate lunch menu and it almost called me by name. The katsu was exactly what I wanted, substantial and delicious, with tender chicken and crispy breading. It went well with the tonkatsu sauce and rice and macaroni salad. I also stole some of my friend's spam musubi and furikake ahi, which were both quite good. The tuna was nicely cooked with a full-coverage furikake crust. I just loooove hanging out here! When I was a kid in SoCal, my parents used to take us to San Pedro fish market where we'd pack some rice, claim a picnic table, lay out some newspaper for a tablecloth, order up a shrimp tray & some fried fish (pride peeesh), and listen to the mariachi band. He'eia Pier reminds me those days, except it's waaaaay nicer scenery and plate lunch served up with aloha all day. Their loco moco gravy is GOLD. Beef stew ALWAYS sells out...I have yet to try it. Burger patties are handformed. They have music events! Last December, Kealoha Music performed a Christmas set...couldn't think of a better way to spend a December (or any month) evening...by the water, listening to great music, eating comfort food. read more

The seared ahi burger was deliciously seasoned and so were their fries! I ate every single fry. It was crunchy, salty, and paired perfect with the ahi burger. Stopped by for a cheeseburger at lunch today and it was the perfect kind of burger I craved. Kinda like a homemade smashed burger with a yellow sauce, ketchup, and I added relish. The cheese was melted,soft sesame seed bun, crispy edges. The perfect cheeseburger to eat watching the boats and the water. Love coming here with the kids. The food is yummy and the service from all the girls are wonderful. Everyone's so nice and welcoming. They always have specials, and it's all pretty good! Our Sunday cruise led us to Kaneohe and we were starving but wanted to try something different. Yelp led us to the He'eia Pier General Store! The sweetest worker took our order and we chatted about our day as we waited. The shop offers candies, chips, drinks, as well as bentos, burgers, and plate lunches. I had a cheese burger and hurricane fries and my husband got a hamburger steak plate. The kids chose hot dogs and fries. For the price and view, it's definitely an amazing deal and delicious food! Comfort food in Kaneohe, Oahu, Hawaii... Established in August 2020 and opened in October 2020... In the midst of a pandemic... Is that bravery or what? Today, my neighbor texted me and said she was hungry and bored. She asked me if I was home and if I had any lunch plans. Me: Yes; no; and how about He'eia Pier General Store & Deli? We both googled it and watched the April 2021 KHON2 newsclip online where Chris' daughter was interviewed about this reopened business at the He'eia Kea Small Boat Harbor at Kaneohe Bay. Knowing that they'd close at 2pm, my neighbor said she'd pick me up in five minutes. Shoots! Chris, one of the two owners, was quite friendly when I started asking questions about the new He'eia Pier General Store & Deli. He and his partner recently signed the lease for this popular spot and took a gamble - which turned out to be successful! The fare at the Deli is bentos and plate lunches - which are served at memorial services and drive-by graduation events - how appropriate and convenient! He'eia Pier General Store has been turned over several times. This time, the renovation looks very organized, clean, and well stocked! There were flip flops, sunglasses, fishing poles, lures, scoop nets, snacks, refrigerated beverages, face masks, snorkel equipment, etc. My neighbor and I just wanted some good food. I couldn't decide on what to order, so Chris suggested a Combination plate - yay! I got the beef luau, hamburger steak, and mochiko chicken. Wow! I was pleasantly surprised by the mochiko chicken. I usually don't like chicken. This one was good because it had a slightly crisp char on the skin, was flavored well, and was BONELESS!!! I also recommend the hamburger steak - the patty was high quality (no gristle), homemade, tender, and tasty! Oh - and I had a side of fresh poke. I think I detected a tad bit of sesame seed oil... Mmm... And some shoyu and sweet onions - classic! And the Mac salad had some tuna in it... Yummy! Next time, instead of taking my meal home, I might just enjoy my comfort food along the pier while breathing the cool air, watching the kayakers, and listening to the waves on the shore... ahhh!!! Under new owners and changing it up some. General store inside got all your needs for the day night etc. Little fishing gear to lots of snacks and drinks, forgot shades etc its there. In a hurry grab a bento musubi sandwich peanuts drinks icee. If you got time then check outside... Opened the kitchen now so hot meals along with serving up fresh local caught fish. That's what I love, supporting local fishermen to supporting local small business to supporting locals in general! Food has always been good comfort style. Nothing has been bad here. Loved finding this little known place. Felt like a local. General store selling variety of things & food. It was delicious and the staff were so friendly. The only minus was having to eat outside, near the restrooms, with the wind blowing. If they can create a semi-enclosed patio to eat in, that would make this an even better place to come to. I forgot to take pics but we (4 people) shared a cheeseburger and hurricane fries (I think that's what the fries are called) a giver shoyu poke bowl and the fried pork. Whoa, definitely recommend! The fried pork was crispy fried and I did not expect that! So good, unique style (to me!) fries were ono with the sauce. Ginger shoyu poke was VERY gingery. I absolutely loved it but if you're not too keen on strong ginger flavor, beware. Cheeseburger is diner style. So perfect. Good food, amazing view. We've been working out near the pier for the past 4 months and I eat there at least once a week. Service is great, food is ono, prices are reasonable, and the outdoor seating overlooking the boat ramp and the ocean is a great lunch setting. They have ono fried chicken, burgers, butterfish, pork guisantes, even there shots hotdogs with onions is tasty. Hamburger steak is up there with the best of them! Fried chicken sell out quick which tells you how good it is. They also have specials that change daily. read more

I've been coming here pretty regularly after paddle boarding in the bay. I usually eat breakfast here so I cannot comment on the other meals of the day. Food: Pretty good and price is reasonable. About $6 for a breakfast plate. Service: This is where they can improve a lot. The owner is usually very attentive and talks to all of the customers, however, his work staff are pretty bad at customer service. For example, we were waiting to order at the counter and one of the cooks was sitting outside. Only after several minutes did he get up and let the cashier know that we were waiting. When we went to get coffee, the pot was empty. The cashier took it and said it would be ready in about 5 minutes. Of course, she didn't let us know when it was ready, we went back to check on our own. Granted, these are younger people working there and didn't seem too enthusiastic about working there. These are just minor things which will not stop me from going back there. Hopefully the workers there will learn to improve their customer service so they can move on to better jobs. read more
