Small hole in the wall store, off of Kaneohe Bay Drive. (Look for the bright pink store) Went in to pick up a cute local t-shirt, kulolo and squid luau. Squid luau was slightly sweet with lots of squid. At least every bite. It also has lots of coconut milk, so color is not a bright green. I liked it, and went back a few days ago for more. *This was my second time getting the kulolo...first time it was good, but this time around, it tasted a bit old and disappointedly sour!! Not sure if there was an expiration date, but you may want to check how long the kulolo was out on the counter. I would have brought it back, but I was already heading back into town.

Thank you for contacting me about my winning giveaway back in November 2024. We selected the Kaneohe plate. Squid luau, kalua pig, pork lau lau, chicken long rice, lomi lomi salmon, poi, sweet potato, haupia and pineapple chunks. Everything was ono! There's parking on the side and back of the store. The building is pink and there's a big sign as you you driving up, says Hawaiian food. Can't miss it! The employees are nice and helpful. Mahalo!

Just dropped in for 1st time to see if they sell kalua pig ala carte. Its a YES! Will def be stopping in to grab & go now that I know whats up here. Next time you want Hawaiian food, give this place try! Kalua pig was excellent AND they had chili pepper water!!! Big plus for me. They've been here for a year and it seems people just drive on by. This establishment SHOULD HAVE a line like poi factory in Waiahole!! I don't eat carbs but heard the nachos & sweet treats are delicious. GO FOR IT!

Hawaiian cuisine for dinner in Kaneohe, O'ahu, Hawaii... Located on Kaneohe Bay Drive, He Mea'ono Market took the place of Angie's Market. There's a small free parking lot a little past the building. I just parked along the front of the building... since I was doing takeout... even though there are a few tables and chairs outside if you want to dine there. To exit, just go straight back and turn left around the property (make a big loop) to exit out to the main road. Inside, the place has been really renovated! It's clean, bright, and modern! Service is pleasant and efficient! The nice gal explained that the Kailua plate has less starch (no rice nor poi) than the Kaneohe plate. Sold! Everything tasted good - like how it's supposed to taste! Kalia pig, squid Luau, chicken long rice, and laulau were spot on! The only question I had was: where's the salmon in the lomi salmon? But that's minor. I really liked the way the hot foods were separated from the cold foods... because I don't like warm haupia nor warm pineapple! Thank you! The kulolo (taro dessert that's similar to mochi) caught my attention. I think I should return for that!

My wife and I have been meaning to stop by this spot, as we frequent the area, often. He Mea'Ono Poi Factory and Hawaiian Food is a quaint, homely establishment. Inside is filled with great snacks and local delicacies like lomi o'io, cuddle fish, haupia and many more. I ordered the Kaneohe plate, which comes with laulau, kalua pig, squid luau, chicken long rice, poi, haupia and lomi salmon and a haupia milkshake. I went late afternoon, so they were already out of haupia and laulau at them time. The staff added extra kalua pig and a slice of cheesecake, which was fine by me. The food was a 10/10 for me: everything was balanced, not too salty with great flavor and texture. My milkshake didn't make the picture, as I downed it on the way home:DELICIOUS. I'd recommend going earlier in the day on the weekend so you can try all of their delicious items. I will definitely be finding my way back to He Mea'ono Market.

Food is KILLAH! We will start with complaints first.... The name confused the heck out of me. It's called He Mea `Ono market .... But my receipt and inside the store it says Pomai Kulolo. But that's the ONLY complaint! If you're wanting some HOMEGROWN, HOMEMADE food, this is the spot! There's air conditioning, and a place to sit and wait for your food. There's a mini parking lot and a little more in the loading zone. Food only took like 5-10 minutes. Portions are very generous. We went three times now! I whacked (ate) a whole Guava Haupia container while waiting for my food (it was bomb!) Customer service 10/10! Super sweet helpful employees. They even have CANDIED SPAM! Go check um!

We finally made it at He Mea Ono market today, 6/23/25 and what an amazing experience! The service, food and ambiance all deserve 5+ stars! We ordered the Kaneohe plate, a 2 item combo with kalua pork and chicken long rice, mini nachos and the Haulolo is Dat milk shake! OMG, everything tasted amazing! Authentic Hawaiian food! We went around the island and had Hawaiian food at different places and we all agreed that He Mea had the best laulau. Their laulau was tender, kalua pork was juicy and had that ono smoky flavor, squid luau was also ono with coconuty flavor. The lomi lomi salmon paired perfectly with everything. It is a to go type of restaurant, 2 small tables outside. Inside is small with a couch, cute place. Service was friendly and warm. The star of the show is the Haulolo is Dat shake! We ordered one and after tasting it, we quickly drove back to order another. Must try! They're located in Kaneohe. Definitely worth the drive.

    Menu on soft opening 04/2024

Today 04/06/2024 is their soft opening after taking over the old Angie's Market here in Kaneohe off Kaneohe Bay Drive. You can't miss the building in their bright purple/green paint like their poi containers. Some got to try their hawaiian food offerings at the open markets. If not here's your chance now Got the 2 choice with squid luau and laulau. Luau was good and how we like it. Not sweet and rich like many other places but still creamy from the coconut milk. Laulau was good for the meat to the luau leave ratio. Little under seasoned but for us it's ok we can add our own chili pepper water and shoyu to taste. Waiting to see what other kind of offerings they'll have in the future.

I bought container of the He Mea'ono brand poi yesterday. Not being familiar with that brand I looked it up. I saw the were located in Kaneohe, and had a restaurant. Today was in the area so I decided to pick a tub of Squid Luau to eat with my leftover poi. Well I ended up buying Kulolo, and Haupia. The squid luau had nice size pieces of squid. A lot more squid than the better known Hawaiian eateries. It had a good taste and texture. I enjoyed it, but a little more coconut milk would make a five star winner forme.. I didn't get to eat the haupia or the kulolo. I was just to full. Enjoy

It's in the food court adjacent to Target. I got the two combo plate with rice $20.30. You can pick two entrees from: laulau, beef luau, chicken long rice, kalo luau, kalua pig or squid luau. I got the laulau and squid luau. The plate also comes with lomi salmon and haupia. For dessert I also got the single scoop of Sweet Lady of Waiahole $8.40. It's warm kulolo with haupia ice cream. The Hawaiian food from this place is delicious. It's to be expected, since the original location has been around since 2009. I loved everything on my plate except the squid luau. Usually, squid luau is my favorite. However, they don't make their squid luau sweet. I like mine sweet. I just took it home and added brown sugar. It was perfect after that. Their Sweet Lady of Waiahole is a must try. The warm kulolo is so good with the haupia ice cream. Get this!!!!!

My Kaneohe friends brought me to Windward Mall to try Waiahole Poi Factory and IT...HIT...THE...SPOT (so much that I wrote that in all CAPS for emphasis lol). I got a refreshing Sweetened Mamaki Tea and a Combo Plate which included 2 entree's so I got Laulau (perfect amount of luau leaves to fatty pork) and comforting Chicken Long Rice. You have the choice of Poi or Rice but I got both because I'm a local girl lol. My friends told me at the OG location, the poi is fresh but what we got still tasted super good to me even though it may have been refrigerated. I got to try the Squid Luau too from my friends and it was DELICIOUS. I mean perfect amount of coconut milk to taro leaves with tender squid! If I lived here, I'd be getting Hawaiian food at least once a month lol! To end this onolicious foodie trip, my friends suggested the Sweet Lady of Waiahole (which they got) but I'm not a huge fan of Kulolo so I got the Tahitian Sweet Lady because I love Banana and it was the perfect way to melt and linger in my palate. It was Warm Banana Bread with the BEST Haupia Ice Cream. Yum yum! I'm getting withdrawals just writing this review. ***NOTE TO VISITORS: Stop eating American food you can get at home and please go get yourself some legit Hawaiian food to try when you visit so you can fully say you experienced what Hawai'i has to offer! I also would say that the price for food is a little pricier for my liking for the taste. The food isn't exotic, but it did taste good and their bread and guava butter were my favorite part of my restaurant experience! If it wasn't for the service, I would've given the restaurant a 3/5. Despite the long line/wait, the staff was actually really interactive and proactive with the parties they were serving, which we really appreciated!
