Whatever you do, DO NOT take your doodle here!! So disappointed and frustrated with my dogs cut. I know she had some matting, but I'm not convinced they even tried to get any of them out before shaving her completely down and half of her tail. Never have I had a groomer shave even any of her tail. It wasn't matted at all there's no reason they should have done that. She's also incredibly patchy with random tuffs of longer fur by her face and they left the top in this awful dome shape which is still nearly covering her eyes and will need to be redone in a matter of weeks. Save yourself the frustration and do not take your dog here. read more

Awful experience. Unprofessional, unhelpful staff. Was told I didn't need an appointment when I clearly did. My dogs have never shown aggression and have been socialized their whole life. I don't know what these people did to my babies in 30 minutes, but when I came to pick them up they were shaking, terrified and separated. Below are the details that outline why I would absolutely not recommend this place. I called ahead to make an appointment and was told by Tiffany I didn't need one. I walked in with my two dogs for nail trim, gland expression and a bath only to be told it would be a two hour wait. I told her we have never left them at a groomers before and asked to skip the bath and do the nails and glands now. She insisted on the bath and assured me both dogs would do great and that they would be kept together in a single kennel until they were going to be seen. I explained my male does not like his feet touched and often cries during nail trims. Tiffany tells me no problem. Later she claimed I stated he had a history of aggression but that is simply false. As I walked them to a kennel a Great Dane snarls/growls/barks at my female through the cage. I made a comment and Tiffany just laughed, saying "She's just putting your dog in her place." I feel like this is outward aggression, yet this dog appeared to have been serviced just fine. 30 minutes after leaving I get a call saying my dogs are too aggressive and they wouldn't service them. I rush over and this is where I find the lack of professionalism very frustrating. I asked what happened as they have never shown any type of aggression to anyone. I also see that my dogs were separated even though I was told they'd be kept together. I go to the kennel to get them out and FOUR employees watch me struggle to put on break away collars (two step process unlike normal collars) and leashes. When I asked for help one of the employees lets my male lose and locks the front door. Tiffany keeps repeating "you said they were aggressive" to which I keep responding no. My dogs cry and whine. They do not, and have never, bitten or attacked anyone. They are not kenneled often and were supposed to be kept together. They were so shaken up I worry what happened to them in the 30 minutes they were in the care of the Head to Tails staff. Would absolutely not recommend. read more

The owner David is so kind and loves animals so much he took my dog in when he had nowhere to go and I had to leave the country in a matter of days.he cared for him like he was his own and When I went to pick my pup up he wasn't even excited to see me!!! Prompt appointments decent hair cuts for miniature schnauzers. The nails are always sharp after not filed down that's my only negative. Otherwise great groomer. I have a senior dog, he's fifteen and deaf and blind and has bad hips, they always give him breaks and try not to stress him out which is unbeatable. read more

Took my collie, Kodi in today for the first time, and had a warm welcome! The staff is very friendly and I am very pleased with how she turned out! I think we found our new groomers! 3/7/19-UPDATE: The owner, Julie, called me and was very kind and said she was sorry, that the person was new, and offered me a partial refund. Based upon her unique sense of good business, I will try taking my dog again, but this time to a different person... TY Julie for making the difference! 3/4/19-This is the worst place you could ever take your pet... they do a horrible job, and are rude thru and thru.... they quote you a price and then up it afterwards..... They left my dog coat still damp and left his sanitary area butchered and so uneven, that you could see skin in some areas... didn't offer an apology, so I guess this is the ROUTINE care they give!! read more

I scheduled both of my dogs online to get fully groomed on Saturday , and I called to check to make sure the reservation was set up correctly which it seemed like it was. But when I got there the girl who checked us in told me they we're only scheduled for baths which I let her know they should be scheduled for a full groomed and she said that they could the grooms too ,until I get a call saying they didn't have time to groom my dogs. If I would have know that ahead of time I would not taken my dogs here. So I go to pick them up and there is a dog standing on the grooming table and there is a lady eating a donut right next to him which is so unsanitary and looks unprofessional. Th girl rings my dogs up for the baths and tried to charge me full price until I said something and then changes it to the correct price. They did not try to fix there mistake or get our appointment rescheduled or even apologize for the mistake. I would not recommend this place to anyone's it's unprofessional, unorganized, and unsanitary. read more

It was my first time bringing my fur babies here. I was nervous trying a new place. I previously used a mobile service that comes to your home and, over time, became unhappy with the quality of service my fur babies were receiving. I had been researching groomers and was impressed with all the great reviews of Head 2 Tails! I have two small dogs that are very anxious little dogs and they were scheduled to be groomed by Katie. Now having never been there, it would've been helpful to have the drop off and pick up process explained, as well as a question presented as to what grooming package I would like up front. At drop off, I called to find out the process of getting my dogs and then when Katie came out we did discuss the haircut I preferred for my babies, just not the exact grooming package. I ended up getting the basic and that's okay because now I know I just need to specify if I want anything other than that. And I can do that...not a big deal. What matters most to me is how my fur babies are handled and treated. And while I couldn't watch on a "fur baby cam" how they were handled, I can tell you when I picked them up, they appeared happy and not anxious at all. When Katie brought them out, they didn't even go crazy to come back to me like they do when I take them to the vet! They were content to let Katie hold them while I paid another lady that walked out. It's not that much of an exaggeration to say I practically "forced" them to come back to me :) They were breathing normal and not giving any indication they were stressed out in any way. This made me happy. Katie then took the time to explain exactly what the grooming session entailed with each of my fur babies and how they reacted during their grooming session. Their cuts looked smooth and even, their nails were nice and not jagged, and they smelled wonderful- not that strong perfume-y smell either! I really appreciated Katie taking the time she did explaining everything to me. My dogs are like my children and Katie was very accommodating and friendly and that meant a lot to me. We have used Head 2 Tails for our yorkie grooming, and they had done a good job. But the last time we used them my dogs looked horrible, the hair was choppy and their backsides weren't groomed well. We were charged more than thought. We were very disappointed. read more

First time in. Normally use a groomer in Houston. Head 2 Tails was awesome. They got our puppies in and out in a reasonable amount of time v leaving them caged for hours. They did a great job grooming them, too. Definitely will be a repeat customer! read more

David and crew did an awesome job grooming our 4 unruly dogs today. I gave Head 2 Tails a try because our Vet's Office, where we usually get them groomed, is being remodeled. The office is clean and the staff was very friendly, they made drop off easy. Although parking is tight David was patient and very helpful when it was time to load our 3-Danes and 1-Beagle. Our dogs smell great and their nails are perfect. I think we just found a new groomer! read more

Excellent service. Our dog, Haley, came home with a beautiful coat, smelled good and her nails were trimmed perfectly. I would expect those services. More important to me, she came home very relaxed. I have taken her to different groomers and she always comes home stressed. It would take a day or two for her to settle down. I always wondered why she was so stressed after being at the groomers. One thing they do differently, they immediately take the dog off the leash and allows her to freely check out the new environment. No other dogs were in the area. There was no barking, even though other dogs were in a back room. It was a very relaxing environment. The office/work areas were spotless. The groomer was very relaxed and greeted the dog in a relaxed manner. She set the tone of the visit as soon as we walked in the office. I would definitely recommend this groomer and I will be returning for grooming services in the future. read more
