I have came to this spa a few times to get a Swedish massage. Initially their service was awesome and I referred a lot of people to get one. The last time I came, the service was not a good. Me and my boyfriend made an appointment at 6:00 pm and wanted the hour and 30 minute massage and was told that we could not get that massage because other people had appointments and they were understaffed. I was disappointed, as we paid the same price for a hour massage that we could have paid for an hour and 30 minutes. This place was horrible. The service was horrible the people there are very disrespectful. My husband and i got a couples massage and it was supposed to be 60 min but it was only 45. After we decided to be nice and give them a $5 tip because the massage wasn't up to par for us it was very dull and minimal. The guy seemed very unhappy about only getting $5 then my husband gave his girl $5 as well (we never got to pick our preference on what gender we wanted to massage us) when she got his money she has the nerve to tell us it's a $10 minimum for tips for an hour so we told them there was NO sign saying that so we didn't pay the extra $5 and plus our massage wasn't even an hour. Waited 35 minutes after our appointment time to finally be brought back for the hour long couple massage. The two ladies were talking to each other for the majority of the time during our massage & were also speaking to two other workers (possibly inside the room) during the massage... It made for a less than comfortable / relaxing time & made me reluctant to even tip. Though I did & the ladies seemed appalled that I didn't tip more. It is my opinion that those in service should never make their customers feel bad about tipping, especially if they don't deserve the tip in the first place. I got a couples hot stone massage today and it was AMAZING. I have gotten many massages in even just the last year and Head 2 Toe raised the bar. Not only are the prices affordable but no corners were cut during my massage. Hands down best massage. Few staff changes but I finally found one person who was like my previous masseuse Peter. Very strong and attentive namely my lower back which had been hurting for a long while and my shoulder. He even repaired the remaining remnantsif my frozen shoulder. He sees the issue and he fixes it. Overall it felt so good I passed out. It's always good to book the appointment in advance especially when you want a particular person. Clean and private, definite 4.5 out of all the places I have been. I got a groupon deal for $40. The place itself does massage for $40 without groupon. The owner speaks only chinese. They have difficulty understanding English. The massage was okay with a thick bath towel on top of you. The head rest was not comfortable. I had severe headache at the end. Also they demanded that I pay $5 tip minimum at the end which was quite rude. I would have given tips if I liked the service. Forcefully asking tips is very rude. Overall massage took only 50 minutes in stead of 60 minutes. As other reviewers noted, there is no door to massage rooms only shade which is half closed. So no privacy and too much noise. Lucy had perfect sense to communicate and awesome technique that i had been looking for it in south bay. I love my Eyelash extension that she did it for me. The glue that she used didnt hurt my conjunctiva compared with other stores that i had tried in Torrance. Also i just had skin care with two different machines for moisturizing and healing damaged skin. She used a whole ampule for the skin care rather than sharing for 2-3 customers. Massage during the skin care was very affective to help muscle tension. Being honest to talk with customer rather than selling overprice supplies. I love this place. It is my new favorite "go to" massage place! I've been here 4 times in 6 weeks. I saw their ads in the Redondo Beach "Best Buys" magazine and decided to try it out. I must admit, from the outside I wasn't all that sure. The sign says "VIP Rooms"...that seemed a bit sketchy, the open sign was lit up and the hours of 11a-11pm were posted on the window. Large signs of reflexology maps covered a large area of the window. I walked in anyways. I was relieved to see a clean waiting room, modern and stylish with a large fountain in the waiting area. The rooms were described in detail by another reviewer but, I will just add that they are very clean, the walls are painted a nice Restoration Hardware color and even the baseboards are crisp white. The setting is very relaxing with a cd of spa music complete with bird chirping sounds. I have had different masseuses each time. Each were good and the pressure was firm each time. The men seemed even stronger however the women were also excellent and a bit more bearable for me. The price is right too! 30 min foot + 30 min body + $35. The masseuses always seem to genuinely appreciate when I give a modest tip. Overall, a great place to go. Clean and comfortable. The massage is high quality and the people are very nice. The price makes is possible to treat yourself often. Much better than other lower cost options such as The Massage Place and The Massage Company. read more

I've been here twice. The first time was ok..not the best, but the deal was I think $50 for "couples"...or just two people. (appointment only) It was ok in the sense that nothing was really better or worse than other places. I mean, yea, I've had better, but I didn't mind coming again. I went in without an appointment and was denied, but then as I was leaving, one staff [that walked back into the shop right when I got in my car] ran out to stop me and said that they could do this. I decided to take it as I needed it. The girl did well and the talking helped. I learned a great deal from her..maybe TMI b/c it became talks about BFs and GFs...haha. While we were talking, I learned that her facial appointment cancelled.... So, me being who I am, decided to take that appointment after the massage. The facial would be my 3 one in my life. I'm not too much of a facial, as I am a guy, but sometimes we, guys, wanna look younger too. ;) I guess the facial was ok. I got a Groupon for an hour massage with hot stones and aroma-therapy. The therapist didn't look very happy to see me. But OK. I gave her a chance. My massage was good. However, I asked about the aromatherapy, and she had no idea what I was talking about! There was a language barrier. So I asked five times, and she said she understood. So I kept waiting for the aroma part. It never happened. I then asked for the manager. I was told she was busy. Soon, my massage was over. After a good 12 minutes, the manager appeared in a mask. (she was doing nails.) I told her it was supposed to be aromatherapy. She tried to say the oil was. But it was not, and I we both knew it wasn't. There was NO AROMA! She went and got a bottle of oil for me to smell and kept saying it was coconut. I explained that aromatic oils like eucalyptus or lavender are what normally would be offered. I would not recommend this place at all for a massage! My back still hurts! I'm not even sure the workers are qualified massage therapist. My husband purchased a Groupon & surprised me with the couples massage for my birthday. I've been to a number of places from high end, to those offering Groupon deals and this by far was the worst experience EVER! We arrived early & had a short wait, no big deal. They put us in the first (door less) room near the entrance. There was just a shade that they didn't even lower all the way. I wasn't feeling it but figured I'll give them a chance, so we undress and the ladies enter the room. My massage or lack there of was horrible. She was way too rough & even after I requested softer (a few times) she would loosen up a little & go right back into pushing her elbows into me. Not even 10 minutes into the "beat down", another worker entered the room & started talking to the lady working on me. Although they tried to keep it at a super low whisper, I was in utter disbelief! Not only are you guys talking & messing up our relaxation, your distracting her from working on me! I found her pausing on my massage because she was deep off in the conversation they had going on. I had to sigh not once but twice...like WTF to finally put an end to it but I SHOULD'VE GOT UP AT THAT POINT & DEMANDED MY HUSBAND BE REFUNDED! The lady get the hint and leave but it's too late because that was very inconsiderate & unprofessional! Unless there was a serious emergency, why would you interrupt a service that's paid for?! To top it off, the lady massaging me had little heels on so I could hear her every move. I don't know if she's performing other services that require heels but why would those even be the shoe of choose on a wooden floor when your suppose to ensure your client has a relaxing experience? The lady massaging my husband had on flats & I couldn't hear her movement. At some point, we can hear a customer leaving & talking to the lady at the front desk clear as day...very annoying. We should've just gotten a massage at one of those booths in the middle of the mall with all the distractions. The ladies leave out (after almost breaking my back) giving my husband & I enough time to talk and wonder if we're going to get massaged from the front. They return with hot stones. That was the most relaxing part of the massage but brief. They leave again and return with hot towels. From past experiences, the massage therapist always had everything on hand and did not have to exit the room basically cutting into our time, so that was very strange. Finally we flip over, that portion was relaxing but brief as well. To say the less, we were shorted out of 10 minutes of our massage, not including the time they took when they went to retrieve stones and towels. BUT being that I did not enjoy my massage and my husband said his was okay we didn't want to continue. Plus, I made sure I checked the clock before she started the massage. We exit trying to smile & be nice but I was very disappointed & dissatisfied. The receptionist give us water & as we're about to exit she have the nerve to stop us & ask for a tip, while the lady that worked on me stood by as if she did an outstanding job. DID I MENTION, MY BACK STILL HURT (a couple of days later)?! She stated the tip is not included in the Groupon. WHAT?! Last time I checked, a tip is left for service you're satisfied with (my thoughts)! My husband & I look at one another in silence at a loss for words. I started coming to this place when they opened. I used to just walk in and get an appointment but now I need a reservation. Which is good! I am happy for them that they are busier now. My friend and I go here for massages for two. It costs $40 which includes tip for each of us. We get a total of 70 minutes including 30 minute reflexology on our feet. This is totally worth it! They are as strong as you tell them to be. The place is clean and the rooms will fit one or two people. You keep you clothes on so wear easy comfortable clothes. All of the people that have worked on me have been courteous and I have never had the problem of them talking to each other even though there are two in the room.
