I called Heads Up because a coworker used them and they had what appeared to be good reviews. I've learned to read my Yelp reviews differently from this experience. I had a problem that we both agreed on the phone was a broken wire most likely from tree roots. They found and fixed my problem. There are the 2 stars. What I now know about this company is that they take this situation to inspect and take care of your entire system. It is mentioned in Lauren's review. They don't ask, they just fix whatever needs repair or adjustment after doing multiple test. They did $165 worth of parts replacement without asking. Labor separate. Yes my system is old and your recommendation to replace may be close to right. Another reason not to do repairs. Now the final reason for 2 stars. When I mentioned that the repairs were not discussed and that they should have asked, I got an ear full from Patty. Sara and Dena both mentioned that she can act less than professional. I would call it condescending and sarcastic. She wanted to put the old parts back on my system even though it had been over a week and a half. She still has my cheap Home Depot sprinkler heads sitting around she claimed. Sara is right. She has an issue with Home Depot and DIY. Just found two sprinkler heads that were adjusted from a correct placement in the ground to this half out of the ground. These are my sprinkler heads that they charged me to adjust to an incorrect and unprofessional placement. I would call and ask them to fix it but not worth the hassle of dealing with them. I know they won't admit the mistake and give me the money they charged back. Really, be careful with this group. read more

Below is the original review that I gave them and the owner of the company called me and came out to make things right. They fixed everything to perfection and were super nice. It's the kind of customer service you wish every company had. They made mistakes the first time out, but to have a company that fully stands behind their service/product is a relief and hard to find. ----------------- I had Heads Up Sprinkler Company out to do the following: 1. Repair a sprinkler head leak 2. Move a head closer to my patio so it hits more grass 3. Modify two other sprinkler heads so I can put a garden by putting them in risers They didn't repair the leak at all. They just didn't do it. They moved the head closer to the concrete, but there is a lack of attention to detail as the head doesn't stand straight up and down and they didn't replace the dirt/grass in an appealing way. They put the other two heads on risers, but the heads they put on there don't match my other heads so they put out a lot less water. One of them shoots the water up and into my tree so really the only way for the garden to get water is by the water dripping off of the tree and into the garden. It's really a sad situation and I am now having to pay this bill for it and turn right around to call another company out to fix it AGAIN. They asked me if I was satisfied with the work before leaving, but I was just so disappointed that I just didn't have any confidence in their ability to really help me so I said sure and they left. I have to give them 1 star because they made my situation worse and now I have to spend more money on it than I had originally planned to. read more

They have serviced me for a long time and I can always, I mean always trust them on what needs to be done! I was very happy with the staff. They were friendly and professional. The billing department was very nice about letting me make payments. I had to schedule my appt far in advance due to it being their busy period during the summer. However, once they started the job, they came back quickly to finish it. I have used their service more than once and have been very satisfied with them. I had problems with my heads and watering in addition to the drought cause me to loose my lawn. Had to replace it and was concern that I may loose it again. I called Heads up, they came out and check all the heads, the system and corrected all those that were giving me problems , pointed out and showed me some areas that my watering was lacking; I had them correct it. When I got the I bill it was very reasonable, I was expecting a much higher one. The crew was working hard to get it done which they did, working to late hours. Great job. Fixed 3 sprinklers leaking at the pipe, put new risers & nozzles on 3 others and two new heads in about an hour. Cost me about $300. Left the area they worked in pretty good condition and put the sod back in place. They inspected the entire system and asked me for approval to fix the issues they identified. I'd definitely recommend them if you need a professional. I chose the highest rated company on yelp .. never used other companies before, so can't give a comparison. Take the DIY route if you just have head issues. I'll update this in a couple of weeks if I face any issues read more

Heads Up Sprinkler is the worst company! Don't use them! They came out in June to repair my sprinkler system in Plano and in the process of trouble shooting they had to dig in my front beds to find the issue. In the process of digging their guy hit a PVC pipe that was part of my sprinkler system. It didn't start leaking for 4 weeks, at least not that we could see, until later when water bubbled up when our sprinkler was on. Plus the lady leading the repair crew, decided she had to bypass our system and wire a device into the system to control the watering system. They worked a while to try and install it, and when I was talking to her, she commented on the trouble they were having and said "this is what I get for sitting in the truck too much and not being hands on" and then they had to leave and came back 2 wks later to finish the job. During that time we had to manually water our lawn! I was SHOCKED when I got the outrageous bill in the mail!!! They have refused to speak with me about the bill, I've called and lvm and sent a letter with partial payment and they just keep sending bills. I had to hire another sprinkler company to replace the PVC pipe, which is part of my sprinkler system that they broke and erupted on a Sunday on Fathers Day, at my cost. read more

We came across heads up sprinkler a few years ago when we had a few zones not working on our system. We were impressed back then and have used them since when anything came up. Now we are preparing to move and had them come fix a few more things. I've been using Heads-Up Sprinkler for at least 6 years and have always found them to be thorough, knowledgeable and very quick when on-site. I recently had landscaping done all over my house and had them come by to make sure the new plants had full coverage. Their team came by and did an amazing job getting everything covered. We were less than impressed with the lack of service received from this company. After spending over $350 in April 2018 with this company to fix some sprinkler issues and give our system an overall check, our system failed to operate after a few weeks in one of the zones. We called this company to give them an opportunity to come back and look at the system to see what went wrong. They ignored our calls and failed to give us the professional courtesy of a return phone call. We decided to send an email message to which we received a short rude response "We cannot help you." This lack of service is unprofessional and conflicts with the service vision they boast about. Since they refused to come back and look at the system they lose the right to point the finger back at us, blame the controller box, failing parts, or make excuses. We attempted to get in touch with them 6 weeks after the work was done, NOT 3 months as they claimed. They chose to ignore us. They chose to do nothing. In the time it took them to respond to our concerns, they could have picked up the phone to diffuse the situation. It is if we were dealing with a millennial passing blame. This company falsely claimed we delayed payment of services. We tried to pay this company the day services were rendered. We were told they would mail an invoice. They mailed an invoice and payment was made within a typical standard accounting method of payment due within 30 days of receipt of invoice. They also accused us of being uneducated in the ways of how a sprinkler system works. To assume and insinuate that we are not educated to the ways of a sprinkler system is ignorant and insulting. There is more to this story, but I chose to give you the short version. We have another company that is happy to have our business. I am sure Ms. Patti will comment with a long blah blah blah review like she has to all the other negative Yelp reviews. read more

I must sincerely apologize to these fantastic ladies... They came out several months ago to service my sprinkler system, and I'm only now just getting around to posting this review... Updated on (06/27) Pat told me that Caryn was out for an Irrigation conference at Austin and that's why she didn't show up. Usually Head Up will send out 4 people including Caryn to investigate a new sprinkler issue. Anyway, Pat followed up with me yesterday and sent Caryn out this morning. She has worked me through all the suspected areas for water leaking: House, Pool, Sprinkler, and Drainage. Finally, all signs seem to point to the drainage problem. In other words, either our Sprinkler or Pool could be fine and it's the drainage in our backyard or the one used by the Pool overflow has an issue. All her diagnosis was explained to me clearly and it makes sense. I wish I didn't write a bad review of "Heads Up" yesterday. But, that's how the review works. So, today I have changed my review to add what I should have said. However, I do wish that Caryn was here yesterday and it would have saved a lot of hassles. Thanks Caryn! (06/26) True or hype? I would say it's hype. If I were you, I would try other companies first. First of all, you won't be able to contact them directly in person. Too busy? Maybe not, it's not a drought season and we have lots of rain in Dallas recently. If you have patience, you can just wait for them to call or email you back (usually 1 day or more later). For the sprinkler repair task, Pat's team came in. The very first comment his nephew has made was that they may need to come back for the 2nd visit. Note that Head up will charge you $125 for the 1st hour no matter what. They came and dug some holes around sprinkler pipes. The only thing they have concluded is that it's not a leak from the sprinkler system. But, later I have a good pool guy came in and he suggested most likely the leak was from the sprinkler. He has provided advice for testing the theory out by running the pool system for 24 hours and to see if the water level drops or not. Besides that, he has helped to turn off the auto-fill-pump to the pool, the sprinkler system. So, if it's pool leaks, we can easily tell. So far, all signs points to NO leaking from the pool at all. Note that Heads-Up team said they would turned off the sprinkler system for us. But, it turned out that they didn't. We ran the sprinkler test with the pool guy, the water still ran out of our sprinkler system. Do Heads-Up guys know what they were doing or do they just want to charge customers $125 for the 1st-hour service. In this case, they have NOT even done the job correctly. What a shame! I have already contacted another sprinkler company for the repair. Will give that company a review after their work. That company only charge a fixed amount by the project. We will see. read more

Would definitely recommend that you find another company. Heads up walked off the site halfway through the job because of 'other appointments'. They refused to return without payment for the incomplete work they did do and were never able to fix my problem. When I refused payment for non-performance, they promptly threatened with a lien and would not ever consider actually doing the work as requested. Find somebody else. This company was unethical, rude and failed to provide the service they promised. read more

We hired Heads Up this week to repair what we thought was a main leak. We couldn't find the valve to shut of the water so we essentially had a pond on the side of our house. Within hours of calling, Head Up came over, found our shut off valves, dug them up and shut of the water. They even sent me pictures of valves so I would be able to find them again on my own. After everything dried up, they came back and fixed the issue quickly. This was hands down the best customer service experience I have ever had- they are extremely professional, courteous, and well priced. I will never hire anyone else for our sprinkler issues and will be referring them to everyone I know!! read more

We just bought a house and had to schedule a sprinkler tune up - Heads Up responded within an hour with an appointment within a few days, they were so nice and accommodating, even said it was no problem if we weren't home. They confirmed the appointment, emailed from my house to say they were finishing up, even brought in some packages (one very heavy) that were delivered & put them in the garage... which saved me a trip to the new house (we hadn't moved in yet). Beyond their service, their work is fantastic, their prices were a lot lower than I expected and they even pre filled out some form that would get us a rebate w/ the City of Plano. I had a question this morning and Patty has been emailing with me with tons of info that helps tremendously. I wish they did more than just sprinklers - been wonderful to work with! read more

TERRIBLE!! These people under quote then over charge. Actually wrote on an invoice "every little bit helps" acknowledging that they were overcharging us $100 from what they originally quoted - like I was donating to a charity!. They've been here 4 times in the last year, we've paid over $1,000 to them and my sprinkler is still not fixed because on the last visit they left a note saying to "look it up in the manual". This was after they previously suggested fixing a blown fuse with a paper clip. Only reason we kept calling them out is because we were under the impression that items were "under warranty" based on prior visits. Awful, awful service. They fixed repeat leak in main line following repair done by the jump house owner couple of years back and another leak at a L joint, straightened a rotating head and inspected system in an hour. During the first visit, they fixed most of my broken or damaged heads, but left one loose & another's pieces scattered about my front lawn. The loose one had been that way before I called, so they either did not check it or decided not to fix it. I just replaced those 2 myself (should have done that to begin with). A week later, the owner did make an appearance at my house, but could find nothing wrong with any of the heads and asked my visiting Mother-in-law for payment. Guess why there was nothing wrong with the heads? The illiterate emails from the owner were very condescending regarding my lack of "sprinkler knowledge" & the advanced age of my controller. In the end, they threatened a mechanics lien on my property even though they never finished the job, nor did they offer a refund of any kind. I finally paid them just to be rid of their nonsense. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid. Response: I've spent way too much of my time already with this company, so this will be my last post. Firstly, I never mentioned what head (singular... I said the other head was loose) was blown off from pressure, not broken. I'm guessing they were testing the system & hadn't tightened the new head correctly. Just a logical guess. Sprinkler heads are not complicated mechanisms. These guys would like you to think they are & they are the only people qualified enough to fix them. Obviously, they also didn't inspect anything during (or after) testing the system. Secondly, since Patty is relying on a time reference from a child as a rebuttal point, I will correct her here. They actually fixed the head he had broken off about 5 months prior.That head was inside my backyard fence. The head they left blown off is in my front yard. The loose one is on the other side of the house where my son never practices. I didn't pay them because they never finished the job. Patty's written response here is pretty much what I got from them when I told them about the issues. Disbelief. They could never make such mistakes as not checking a head, or leaving one blown off. The man who installed my irrigation was happy to take my money but not happy to provide any service. Patty sent a man to explain the system and set it for Fall watering schedule.
