Hi. Billy's Sprinkler and Backflow company just left my house. They do not have a trip charge and only charge if they find something that needs to be repaired. They will then give you an estimate and you decide yes or no. Or they find something too small to charge for like they did me and fix it for no charge. They are a great local husband and wife company. It's a very busy time of year, so be prepared to wait for an appointment. But they are busy for good reason. And it pays to wait for the best. I have been a loyal customer of Billy for more than 5 years and would have rated him and Amy 5 stars prior to my most recent engagement where he intentionally overcharged me and came up with a lousy excuse when I questioned his pricing. His pricing model is typically a trip charge ($80/hr) plus parts. He fixed two areas that were broken and said that there were a total of 9 connectors used to repair. The cost for each connector is $15 (only $2 at Home Depot, but not the point). He said he used 6 connectors on one repair, and three on the other. I went to the repair that supposedly had 6 connectors, and there were only three. What should have been $45 in parts, is now $90. When I questioned him, he said that anything more than 6 inches he doubles the price and said 6 to "make it easier"...it's the same connection regardless of length, and not sure there is any irrigation that is less than 6"...this was his attempt to cover up the price gouging and attempt to defraud. He offered to refund my total bill, but I refused as he is a small business but I don't want others to fall victim to the practice. read more

These are the most dishonest people I have ever meet. They are not up front with there pricing. If they would have told me that the bill was going to be $920.00 for 2 1/2 hours work I would have sent them pack. Billy came to our house to repair a broken valve - one of our zones was leaking from every sprinkler head. Billy's wife Amy set up an appointment right away, and then he was actually able to come much earlier than expected. Billy diagnosed the problem right away, and the fix was quick. He also helped us locate all of our valve boxes, since we moved in a year ago and the boxes were hidden (or in two cases, built over).
