The owner is friendly and knows the stones. I got an idea of what stones I wanted from a picture but I didn't know what they were. So he was able to identify them. How do I choose the stone? I asked. It depends on which one resonates with you. It could be many of the batch so I spent some time feeling my way through the stones. To cleanse them, I washed them with water and soap. The stones are real since I've experienced other stores selling manipulated stones that can be washed off with water. So I'm happy with my purchase. I also bought my first biggest stone ever. I also like the healing aspects of each stone. I'll come back again though I spent too much. One thing to note is that we don't always know the prices of the stones since it can range from size. I think it makes sense for the batches but for the bigger stones, I only wish that the prices were more transparent. read more

Very non- grouchy and kind lady, huge crystal lamps and a selection of HEM Indian incense cones. Only bigger crystal I have seen is Bill Kaunitz's collection and a case in the side of the shop East West in Mountain View. Several crystal bowls, small bowls of around 25 different palm sized crystals and a rose quartz lamp, as well as singing bowls one clear iridescent crystal bowl and several typical frosted ones. Prices rage from $4 for the incense $27.00 for the palm sized stones to $12,000 for lamp. read more

I buy my crystals usually at Crystal Way in SF and pay up to 500 dollars or more for a crystal and my friend and I noticed the tone of the representative when we asked a price on a piece and she said 2200 dollars! Healing Stones is a lovely crystal and healing shop on a busy corner of Castro Valley Blvd. They sell a huge variety of crystals in different sizes and prices, incense, smudge sticks, and candles. We came in one afternoon and there were 2 people already in there talking to the shop owner. The space is a little cramped and won't allow for much social distancing if any at all. This is definitely not the place to bring a stroller, if you have children. Big plus is that the owner is super friendly and the shop has a private parking lot behind it. I'm loving that there is a shop like this close to home. Before discovering this place, the closest I could find a smudge stick was either in Berkeley or ordering them off the internet. read more

Pretty cool little spot in Castro Valley if you're into crystals and their potential healing capabilities. And even if that's not your cup of tea and you're into the beauty of the stones, Healing Stones is worth checking out. It's a small shop with limited parking, but there is a parking lot in the back. If you're not able to find parking there, you may be able to snag one on the street or within walking distance in the neighborhood nearby. I ended up purchasing a small heart shaped rose quartz stone. It was a polished stone and was super pretty! Rose quartz is said to be a stone that helps open up the heart chakra to promote unconditional love and positive energy. It also helps with promoting self-love, which was mostly why I wanted it and was drawn to it. Plus not going to lie to you, I love the color pink. I didn't ask for help when visiting as I wanted to see what I was most "drawn" to but the employee who was there did ask if I needed help. Even if you don't ask for help there are signs near each stone letting you know what it is and its healing properties. It can get a little pricey, but I don't have many other crystal/stone shop visits to compare it to. Also, please please note they don't just sell polished but I polished stones here too! They also had necklaces with crystals and stones too, but prices so vary. Overall a cool eclectic little shop. Would return. read more

Came here to purchase some Sage! I parked behind the building and thought it was okay to whether through the back since it was open. Not sure if it was the owner but the guy was shuffling through some boxes cleaning things out and I politely asked if I can enter, he then replies back rudely and said, "No! Go through front around" once I entered there were boxes everywhere (it seems like they were organizing some things around) I then began to look around since it was my first time here. It was really awkward since I was the only customer in the shop so of course all eyes on me. Once I went up to pay it was just silence around the room, the lady who rang me up didn't even give me my receipt or anything. Over all my experience wasn't what I expected walking in to this shop. I stopped in to purchase a small Himalayan Salt Lamp for my sister's christmas present. I wanted a small lamp, no bigger than 8 in. tall, because my sister is going away to college so a small lamp will suit her dorm room perfectly. When I looked around the store and didn't find a small lamp, only lamps that were 15 inches and taller, Ali offered to make me a small one that I picked up the next day! The best part about it was that it cost me $28.00! I found a similar himalayan salt lamp at Urban Outfitters for $40.00. I saw this shop a little while ago during the pandemic and it looked super cool so I went in with my friend. When we got in, we were the only ones in there and considering it's pretty small, you'd think that the only other lady in there (the worker/cashier) would greet us but she didn't. Which we didn't mind, but just a note. When paying, there was barley any communication and there was a little bit of tension almost... like a slight passive aggressiveness. So a few months later, we come to the store again and we walk in and another work (a guy this time, not the same girl) looks at us and abruptly says "Can you wait outside." Which is fine, covid precautions are really necessary right now. But then we realize that he isn't even wearing a mask?? You're going to have a costumer limit to prevent the spread but not have a mama on yourself??? Crazy, we decided that we were not going to support their business because of the negative energy that we got from there. read more
