I told more than one trainer over in phone and in person that I did not want their services and to stop calling or emailing me. Yet this did not cease. Finally the predatory cancellation / membership annual renewal fee. They will literally charge and annual renewal fee on top of the next months fee. Doesn't matter if you cancel day of, they'll still charge you. The website offers cancellation form but this location doesn't approve them. I literally had to drive 1.5 hours to get to this location just to cancel and was met with additional fees. All around highly do not recommend this gym unless you don't have other options. Be careful of the cancellation when you do move because they will not hesitate to steal your money.

The facility was very clean, lots of wipes and spray bottles available. The TVs were working and only 1-2 machines were down in the entire studio. I didn't use the bathroom so can't speak to its cleanliness but I'm sure it was good. There was plenty of parking out front too which was nice.

We wanted to get a feel for the facilities, the coaching/trainers, the intensity of the workouts, and the overall culture of the gym before signing up. I can honestly say that this is the best gym that I've ever been a member of. The coaches really know their stuff and preach proper form and fundamentals. They're supportive and encouraging. It really does feel like a community over there. Although I have played sports my whole life and an avid gym-goer I was new to crossfit. They were and are very patient with me and really try to help me from getting discouraged if I have trouble with complex lifts or exercises. The facility is pretty nice and has all of the essentials of the crossfit gyms. And the members over there are cool too. It's a good crowd and people are always rooting for you to finish workouts and hit performance goals. And the workouts are the toughest, most intense workouts I've ever taken part in. And I trained in boxing for 3 years and have tried various workouts along the way. I also noticed that the monthly and yearly rates are very competitive to the other gyms that we checked out. I would definitely recommend this gym, or at the very least to check it out and see if it's something you'd be interested in. They have a free intro class. A++++

I…read morejoined initially because I'd heard great things about crossfit from anyone I knew who belonged to a box. SCCF was close to my house, the price was great, and a friend from school went there and he loved it. I ended up moving about 20 minutes further away a few months after signing up. My new house was less than a mile from a different box but continued to go to SCCF because of the programming, coaches, and athletes. The owners and coaches are amazing. They truly care about every athlete that comes to the box no matter their skill level. The programming is well thought out and properly executed. There is a method to the madness. The class sizes are manageable for the coaches to teach while still making sure athletes are performing proper movements. They will make you decrease weight to avoid injury if form breaks down. For me one of the things that makes SCCF so great is the community. Like I said earlier with the coaches not choosing to only give attention to those upper level athletes, the people in the box are the same. Everyone is so friendly and willing to give you tips if you are doing something wrong or just could be doing a lift better with a little advice. There are some really amazing athletes at South Charlotte and for me personally instead of getting down on myself about not being anywhere near their skill level, I used it as motivation to keep going because everyone has to start somewhere. If you live in Charlotte or just happen to be passing through, drop-in and try a class, you won't be sorry you did!

Just when you think you are going to give up, you dig a little deeper and get a little stronger. The 30min bootcamp classes are really worth the money. You can do anything for 30mins! It doesn't sound like a lot of time, but you get a heck of a work out. The high intensity workouts will vary every day. No matter what your fitness goals are, whether it's endurance, weight loss, etc, Dayron will work with you to achieve them. I have lost over 8 inches and more than 12lbs in just a few months. If I changed my diet even more, I would have probably lost more! I even shaved 3mins off of my best 5k time. In addition, he offers plenty of other options like personal training, boxing, etc. Dayron also started to offer various yummy juice blends for a post workout recovery drink. My boyfriend even said.. "I haven't even met him, but I know he's good at his job because I saw results within the first month and you have kept with it for more than 2 months..." Ha! Try it for a month and you will be back for month two and more!

I have received a wellness consultation there and participated in their bootcamp classes. You also have the option of one-on-one personal training where the attention is all on you and your fitness goals or you can opt for the bootcamp classes (what I did!) which are small groups between 5-10 individuals, where you will will feel like you are in basic training for the Army.:) My experience with bootcamp and trainers: The bootcamp exercises vary...sprints, jumping rope, circuits, abs, squats and more. It's truly one of those feelings where it hurts but feels good. You know what I mean? You know you are working hard but it helps get results. You can burn 700+ calories in just one session! The owner Michael (who also trains) and one of the trainers Tyson (she really works you out!!) really care about your fitness goals and they do not yell at you like in real basic training! In addition to training, Shape Up gives you nutritional tips and also has their own newsletter that includes articles based around fitness/nutrition, as well as a healthy recipe that helps you to stay the course.
