Overall fantastic experience with Emily! She really took the time to get to know me & my concerns, and explained her methods. I always feel SO good after leaving - it's really incredible!! It's easy to get an appointment (initial ones can be made via Zocdoc) and she rarely was running late (how different from other doctors I've seen!). She shares an office with other acupuncturists - so you'll see a few folks bustling around the office. If you're even remotely interested in trying acupuncture, make an appointment with Emily! Billing was a little confusing at times, but that comes with the territory of seeing an independent doctor. She now does not take insurance in order to focus more on her patients. read more

I tried it once, had many needles stuck in me. Emily was nice. She stick some needles in odd places like in your head and on your back and you rest for 20 minutes. Most of the needles didn't hurt that much except for three needles and there was slight bleeding from these three needles. I think she could stuck the needles anywhere in your body and I'm afraid she might stab it in sensitive or tender spots like your fingers. After trying it I don't believe in this Eastern medicine anymore. They're just all needles stucking in you doing nothing. But it was an interesting experience. Update: it has turned south when it comes to billing. This acupuncturist did not send us bill (as most providers normally do) instead overcharged our credit card without our knowledge. She charged more than our responsibility to pay as indicated on explanation of statement sent to us by our insurance. She is not very cooperative when it comes to dispute. She said she does not have administrative support so it's not worth our time haggling with this acupuncturist who makes mistakes in billing and is not very cooperative. Our lesson learned is not to give this acupuncturist or any providers our credit card info upon first visit. They might overcharge your credit card. The standard procedure is to get bill first and if the charge is the same as our responsibility to pay as shown on explanation of statement then we mail the check. Period! read more

I have been seeing Emily for about a year now. I went in last spring for allergy symptoms. I literally couldn't breathe and had to use my inhaler almost every day. Since being treated, I can count on one hand the number of times I've had to use an inhaler. I can even run without relying on it. I am also not dependent on OTC allergy meds that made me feel drowsy and foggy. But Emily's treatments have done more than work on my physical ailments: they've helped me deal with grief, anxiety, and just staying centered in my heart. I have been to HealingWisdom one time in October and it was a good experience, however, Emily's practice has made two unauthorized charges on my credit card since my first and only visit. The first unauthorized charge happened back in November right after my initial visit but then I just received a second unauthorized charge for $140.40 months after I went for my only visit. This is completely inexcusable. They have you write your credit card information on a piece of paper, which clearly is not a reliable system. Provide your billing information with caution. read more

I have been under Emily's care for the past 10 months and she has been instrumental in restoring my body, mind, and soul to good health. I have been seeing Emily for 2 months now. She has been the ONLY medical professional to help me through my slow and difficult recovery resulting from a car accident in January. I have been suffering with a concussion, whiplash, intractable headache, muscle spasms, tremors, nausea, dizziness, body aches and pain... the list goes on. During my FIRST appointment with Emily, the acupuncture treatment was able to take away my pain for 1 hour. During that hour, I felt completely pain-free and felt "normal" again. It was AMAZING! She is a true miracle worker!! I was afraid to try acupuncture before the car accident, but since I have undergone multiple intense treatments such as headache infusion therapy and occipital nerve blocks, all which did not help, I figured I might as well try acupunture too.
