I HIGHLY RECOMMEND,,DR MASSIMO PETRERA FOR ROTATOR CUFF SURGERY…read more He performed arthroscopic surgery for I had a very large rotator cuff tear I couldn't be happier. DR PETRERA CARES. He was so thorough in explaining my injury as well as explaining the "Arthroscopic "surgery. He showed me the tear on my X-ray n MRI and explained the procedure and approximately how long surgery will be along with recoverY. He answered all my questions. I chose to have surgery n Physical Therapy at NYU. I've had the best experience at NYU: i will always choose NYU for any procedures. The Best! I just have had the best overall experience with Summit Health and NYU. If you need rotator cuff surgery, look no further for you are in excellent hands with Dr Massimo Petrera. I am over 55 and did not expect to heal this quickly. I am fully healed and my shoulder is solid and strong after 10 Months. Thank you Dr Petrera! You are the Best!

Coming from out of state, I called in advance to check if summit health took my insurance. They misdiagnosed him, sent us on our way with antibiotics, and we ended up at the ER once back at home. Following that they sent us a bill. That they don't take our insurance after all. Confirmed with my insurance they need to process the claim through them. Summit health instead kept on sending me the bill with ever more escalatory language. Steer clear. Both the care and the back office are abysmal.

I will soon be undergoing brain surgery that will be performed by a wonderful neurosurgeon, Dr. Christopher Kellner. The surgery will be done as part of a clinical trial of the CereVasc eShunt system for treating normal pressure hydrocephalus. I have met Dr. Kellner twice and I'm impressed by his vast knowledge and reassured by his great kindness. All the other Mount Sinai personnel who have attended to me have likewise been cordially solicitous of my welfare. This includes, inter alia, the following people, whom I will identify only by their first name whenever their last name is unknown to me: Kevin Buttet, a Senior Clinical Research Coordinator who communicates directly with the CereVasc team that innovated the eShunt procedure; Amanda Syla, Dr. Kellner's administrative assistant, who patiently helped me to conjoin my NYU Langone medical records with my Mount Sinai medical records; Emily Nitzberg, Dr. Kellner's capable PA; astute doctors Barry J Segal and Joseph Yoon; certified registered nurse anesthetist Marvin, whose good humor lifted my spirits during a lengthy lumbar puncture; Gisel Rodriguez, a radiology technologist; and registered nurses Joanna, Alexis, Isabel, and Fiona. I am especially grateful to Fiona for her sustained care of me throughout the day of the lumbar puncture.

I was then transferred to another floor , and gotten another room . The nurse on that floor stated that they were short staffed. She was very helpful and attentive. Sunday everything pretty much went well. Monday morning it went well til I had to get my heart scanned. I was then told the orderlies were short staffed again. And again staff is talking about their private lives . While waiting for the orderly to take me back which was at least a half hour . For two hospitals to have merged I would think better care , guess not .

I had an AMAZING experience with a hygienist who was interviewing (I was told while checking out.) She was beyond kind, helpful, respectful and really made me feel comfortable (which I didn't think was possible.) PLEASE hire her as I want her to be my "go to" for cleanings. She was so knowledgeable and skilled at her job. I believe her name was Ashlyn but admittedly I was so nervous when she introduced herself so I do feel badly about that honestly. Overall the practice was clean, calm and relaxed. I was very impressed. Amy R

Dr. Piamonte saw me for an emergency visit, made the appointment same day, and he was so knowledgeable and calm -- two extractions in under 30 minutes -- and felt no pain! A day later, I still have no discomfort. And thankfully, we handled this before my vacation -- now I can really enjoy eating! I'm grateful to live 10 minutes away from such excellence. Thank you Dr. Piamonte!
