Came here after my daughter's gymnastics class to get a snack. Wanted something refreshing and filling, so I ordered the açaí bowl with banana, strawberries, and blueberries. It's a pretty small bowl for what you pay for, but surprisingly filling. The staff was super nice. This place is inside a gym, so you'll have people coming and going from their workouts. There is nothing like the endorphin driven rush that you get after completing a leg workout, especially prior to starting a work day. The only drawback that I experience after a taxing leg workout is feeling nutritionally depleted. After one particular grueling workout in which I planned on running a few errands afterwards, I realized that I would need something to satisfy my rumbling stomach until I made it home. Fortunately, the Healthy Blenz Café was open (they open at 9am, seven days a week - located within In-Shape Fitness)! After perusing the menu, I saw an option called the Peanut Butter Builder drink (located within the OG Protein Smoothies section of the menu) that contained 48 grams of protein (perfect as a post-workout treat) and was described as "a Reese in a cup"...if you know me, you know that I love Reeses! I opted for the regular 16oz option, which was more than enough for me. While paying, the employee assisting me thoughtfully suggested that I join the Healthy Blenz loyalty program that allows for you to receive a free drink after accumulating a certain amount of points. The Peanut Butter Builder was exactly as advertised (delicious), if only it came with a Reeses Peanut Butter Cup on the side (I can dream right?)! Love this place! So happy to have a healthy protein smoothie option that's DELICIOUS. They have a plant based protein option, which I appreciate, but wish we could just switch out the protein instead of paying extra for it. I got the pink dragon and it's a 5/5 you don't really taste the protein and my sister says it taste like ice cream My sister got the strawberry banana, it taste like the standard strawberry banana smoothie. Got a cherry chocolate smoothie, the server's favorite/recommended smoothie. He said they use organic frozen strawberries, oat milk, and chocolate whey powder. It tasted really good and refreshing! It only took about a minute or two for the employee to whip it up. The place accepts Apple Pay, and the server accepted my reusable glass bottle to fill my drink in, which I was the most happy about. My wife was working out and I started to text her about stopping by at a Jamba Juice on her way out, but duuurrr..... remembered there's Healthy Blendz right @ the gym! Two 16 oz sized smoothies were about $10 & boosts run about $1 per drink. It's not that pricey compared to other smoothie joints. After finishing my protein with an energy boost, I honestly felt more awake. Placebo effect? Who knows. But this shop is worth a visit. My post workout snack/meal after my gym session. I get about 40 grams of protein in the smoothie and about 20 grams in the açaí bowl. Their smoothies comes with a scoop of protein for a regular and double for a large. Açaí bowls does not come with it but you can definitely add them. They even have the macros for their drinks if you ask for it. I have to get the mango smoothie with a splash of OJ at least once a week. My reward after my workout. It's healthy and I don't feel too guilty for having it. They are located in the CalFit on Bond Rd (Elk Grove) or next to it, depending on how you enter. First experience was great. Walked up to the counter and had no idea what I wanted. Instantly the gentleman behind the counter gave me several delicious sounding suggestions. I took a few in to account and decided on the mango peach smoothie. I am glad I went with that flavor combo, because it wasn't too sweet but still great tasting. Honestly this is not a bad spot. I found this place while looking for more inexpensive smoothies and stumbled upon this location. It's located in the Family Fitness gym, but there's a separate entrance for people just looking for drinks. I used to come to this gym as a kid and as I got older to work out. This little store front has always been changing management. The smoothies were really good! And for the price I can't even complain. I'm pretty sure it's not a bunch of real fruits being thrown into a blender, but I won't complain when I'm paying only 3-4 bucks as compared to someone charging me 9 dollars for fruit in a cup. This cafe is located in the California Family Fitness building and is nestles between the gym and UCF (the cheer gym next door that my daughter goes to). I am really grateful there is a food option here for when practices go long or I didn't plan snacks well. That being said, this is not the healthy cafe it started off as. I think the new owners figured out most of their business comes from the cheer gym - not people leaving Cal Fit - and have adjusted their menu accordingly. Mostly junk food, candy, smoothies, and a menu of items like pb&j, grilled cheese and chicken nuggets. Also this is not a place you want to spend a ton of time in as they do not have their own wifi and the temp is always 10 degrees hotter than the gyms on either side. Good in a pinch, but not a destination I intentionally visit. read more
