Cafe La Vies was such a delight. I follow the page on Instagram and the drinks always look so pretty. I got the chance to try two drink today and they were delicious. When we got there it was a full house. All the tables were full with people sitting and chatting which speaks to the coziness of it. I tried the banana matcha and the white chocolate mocha. I came in earlier today to try the Mango series, specifically the Mango Sticky Rice. I was excited because I've been seeing it advertised all over IG and then all the signs and what not in the store. I walk up to the counter and asked for the Mango Sticky Rice and the guy who helped me, idk what his name is had an attitude and was like we're out of it. I'm thinking to myself, sooo if you KNOW you're of something that's popular and on the menu, maybe you should put a sign somewhere stating that it's currently NOT AVAILABLE. Then I had to call back home to let my siblings know that the initial drink they wanted was not available, so they can choose something else and again the guy taking the order wad annoyed. My siblings decided upon the Mangonada with brown sugar boba and the iced Dubai Chocolate Matcha. Unfortunately, brown sugar boba was not available was all out for the day according to the cashier.. but no sign stating that they were sold out. I had to call my siblings again to let them know and ask if they wanted crystal boba as a replacement. To keep the order going while I was calling them, I asked for a mochi waffle and the guy threw his hands up annoyed and was like do you not want the boba for drink? I told the cashier I'll have the crystal boba instead of the brown sugar since it's currently unavailable, and the guy goes with an attitude... soo do you want the crystal boba? I said yess...yes I do. The Iced Dubai Chocolate Matcha was alrightt. It is definitely not all that it is hyped up to be. Totally disappointed. I was in the area so I gave this place a shot. They didn't have several items. For example, they ran out of mango mochi and all their egg puffs. I did not like how the menu was chaotic. There are menu items on the screen above the register and then they had advertisements of other random items just on the glass. I ordered the Mango Sticky rice drink. I'm not sure it was even a drink?? It had sticky rice on the bottom and mango slush on top, so it was kinda like a drink but you needed a spoon for the sticky rice. What was annoying was that not only did you have to ask for a spoon, but the spoon they provided had a small handle for such a deep cup. It was just a sticky mess. I'm good off this place. read more

Fun cafe experience at this hyped up coffee and tea shop! My friend saw one of the reels for new years steaming clay lions on bubble tea so we went to try it. The steaming tea was aesthetic and all the fun! It is a bit over hyped but enjoyable nonetheless Update: came by again and had some Vietnamese coffee at this Vietnamese cafe! First visit-I came to get some matcha and also their little smoking dragon. I am a sucker for anything cute and the little clay dragon did not disappoint. Service was fast and the matcha was spot on. Lots of people on computers just hanging out. Plenty of parking and you can get points of you sign up. Second visit we went for the matcha flight. For small marchas of different flavors. Coconut, pumpkin, regular matcha and banana matcha. Coconut was super sweet and not my fave. My first pick was the Pumpkin then the regular matcha with the banana in third that had actual banana bits. The staff is super sweet and fast at taking orders and preparing your drink. What a fun and vibrant spot with a great variety of food and drinks! I was impressed by the number of customers here during a weekday afternoon! Service is excellent and we even shared some laughs. Our orders came out promptly and it was fun to watch the staff pour hot water into my lucky lion to make the dry ice effect! I'm so happy I got this lucky lion to celebrate lunar new year after I saw the videos on these lucky tea pots and lucky lion on socials! My friend was visiting from the Bay Area and put me on to the new banana bread coffee trend by scooping up a flight from Cafe La Vies. I am looking forward to making an in-person visit to experience the cafe for myself but I was impressed by the four different samples. I had the tiramisu, biscoff, egg coffee and the banana bread. Now I'm used to just condensed milk at the bottom so these flavor combos were quite a surprise. It felt like I was drinking a pastry or drinking a sweet treat. The banana bread stood out to me from the four different samples but each had a unique flavor. I preferred the banana bread because it tasted the most balanced. The coffee and the sugar were complimenting each other, whereas with the others the sweetness dominated the entire drink and I couldn't really taste much of anything else. Stopped in for the "lucky pot" promo for the new year (2026!) that I had seen on social media. You know I love all things tiny and cute, so this itty bitty clay tea pot that had steam coming out of it was a no brainer to get! It's $2 extra that you add to your drink order and they serve it right on top of your cup. It's dry ice inside and either the staff or you can pour the hot water into the pot to facilitate the "steam." It's so dang cute! It took me a minute to decide what drink to get, but the staff (and the others in line) were very patient. I decided on a small banana matcha, no toppings. It was so tasty, even though the banana flavor was mild. I knew I should've just went ahead and gotten the large! The wait wasn't long at all. I took my drink over to a table to do my lucky pot, gently pouring in the hot water, watching the steam come out like it was the genie in a magic lamp. It's a cool gimmick for social media advertisement...it brought me in! I think the "lucky pot" promo runs throughout January. Great place for a quick drink fix. It was pretty busy when I came on a Sunday morning with my friend. Service is quick and efficient. They have so many different matcha combinations that I have to come back to try! I tried their Strawberry Matcha with boba which was honestly a bit mild tasting to me. I'm going to come back to try their other drinks though! Their menu is diverse. Good parking spaces as well. I don't think I would come here to study or read a book as it can get noisy/crowded, which is overwhelming with the lack of space. Cafe La Vies is a popular cafe in Elk Grove that serves up Asian inspired drinks and snacks. I first found out about Cafe La Vies through their social media showing off their lucky tea pots that they can add-on to any of their drinks. If you're coming for the lucky tea pot, I do have to say that it looks very cool and will make an amazing photo or video for your social media. It's a tiny little tea pot that they put dry ice into. When combined with hot water the tea pot pours out what looks like steam. It looks amazing, but is only for a visual flair and doesn't add anything to the taste of the drink. As I mentioned, it can be added to any drink as they just place it on top of the lid. For a small fee you get to experience the lucky tea pot! If it's worth the picture, that's up to you! The stand-out feature of Cafe La Vies is their coffee selection. They have a number of Vietnamese coffee options as well as other, more traditional offerings with fun spins on them. I found the coffee to be excellent and something that I'd go back for. The Vietnamese coffee in particular is very strong with good flavors. Some of the other drinks, like the lemonade, were too sweet. You might be able to ask them to adjust the sweetness if ordering these. I didn't see a sweetness adjustment on my visit, but I'd advise that for some of their fruity sweet drinks. I was least impressed with the food. They have different kinds of waffles available. They are fine, but the flavor of the waffle comes from the topping and not the waffle. For example, the ube waffle isn't an infused with ube, it just has ube flavoring on the top. The spring rolls I tried weren't anything special either. I personally would skip on the food items here and just go for the coffee drinks. Cafe La Vies is pretty popular, and when we went it was at a non-busy hour, but the place was still very full. Long story short - go for the coffee and you'll be good! read more

My girlfriend and I were DYING to try the Vietnamese coffee flights when we saw it come across our IG feed. We drove out to Elk Grove and were so excited!! I ordered the Vietnamese coffee flight and my girlfriend ordered the Vietnamese coffee floats. In hindsight, we should have shared one flight because we didn't even finish one whole flight!! The portions were much bigger than we expected. I tried the Biscoff flavored one and it was DELICIOUS! My girlfriend drank her Matcha and Vanilla. She said they were yummy!! Local coffee shop that caters to the neighborhood, near by college on gym members :) My son comes to this coffee joint at least 2x a week to get some of his art work and has nothing but good things to say. Met him for a late mommy and son date yesterday and the place didn't disappoint. I have the Vanilla Latte with almond milk - Yummy! Trust that something as classic as a vanilla coffee can be done wrong so I'm really happy that mine came out extra yummy. I found this popular spot that does coffee, teas, and desserts so after coming by a few times, I wanted to share. The space is simple with some seating inside. They have a lot of drinks to choose from so I have gotten a few to see what they look like. The viet coffee was tasty and probably my most ordered item. It comes in alot of different ways so my favorites are the original, hazelnut, and banana. These coffees were strong like a viet coffee should be and flavorful. The teas are soild and there are alot of different flavors and topping. They did an add on with a tiny pot that shoots out steam, see my video, which was a popular touch. Another thing that sets this spot apart is the dessert, specifically the Mochi mango. This is not common and I don't know many places in town that make this but it is one of my favorite desserts. I was craving a PSL, and saw a food blogger review their seasonal Vietnamese Pumpkin Latte and immediately knew I needed to give it a try. I loved the crunch of the crumble toppings, the pumpkin cream was delicious and not too sweet, and the Vietnamese coffee was so good. The girls working up front were nice, acknowledged me as soon as I walked in, and waited until I was ready to order. I ended up reading and doing some work here, but I never realized how much the seating space was. I usually always grab and go, never sitting down. I took a work call here and that was my mistake because I didn't realize how loud the music was (for meetings and just calls in general) until I took off my noise cancelling headphones. Visited Cafe La Vies on a Saturday morning & it was BUSY. Although it was busy, the service was surprisingly quick. Ordered the matcha flight & it was okay. I wish we had the option of choosing the flavors in the flight. The matcha flight came with Coconut, Banana, choice of Vanilla or Biscoff, & Regular. The best one out of the flight was the banana matcha. The vanilla matcha came in close. The regular matcha was just regular matcha. The coconut matcha was too coconut-ty for me. If you like coconut, you'll enjoy that one. The cost of it was $20 for four 4oz drinks, each drink coming out to about $5. I don't think I would order it again only because I would rather choose drink flavors I actually enjoy. Nonetheless, it was an experience. We ordered a Banana Coffee and a Banana Matcha. They were ready rather quickly. My daughter loved her Banana Matcha however, my banana coffee was not good. One of my favorite coffee places whenever I'm back in Elk Grove! I always come here to get their Vietnamese coffee and Vietnamese egg coffee! Super yummy and not too sweet and you can definitely taste the coffee! It's in a plaza with a gym and movie theater so plenty of parking around (though you may have to walk a bit further depending on how busy it is). Came here to try their matcha. I was debating between the Honeydew matcha vs the Banana matcha. I decided to try the honeydew this time. The price on the menu said the small size was $6.20 but unsure why they charged me $6.50, maybe whole milk costed more? I just wish they disclosed that to me. Also I didn't see the price for the Banana matcha, but that one is a little over $8 after tax, for the small. The quality is of the matcha is okay. The flavor of matcha + honeydew is good mix though. They use honeydew syrup with tiny bits of honeydew in it. I asked for 'less sweet', and it tastes like it's about 50% sweet, which is good for me. But i probably wouldn't come back for the matcha drinks. They have WiFi here and plenty of tables and chairs. They have two ceiling fans so it's breezy in here. Drinks: 8.5/10 We tried the Matcha Flight and the Vietnamese Coffee Flight. The Matcha Flight (banana, strawberry, double matcha, and mango) was just okay. The fruit flavors kind of overpowered the matcha: especially the strawberry, which turned a brownish color when mixed. The double matcha was fine, but the foam could've been thicker for a better texture. In my personal opinion, the Matcha was kind of watered down and milky, I wish they maybe used a more Matcha for a perfect flavor (it just needed more matcha). The Vietnamese Coffee Flight was the standout. The egg, ube, tiramisu, and matcha coffees were all tasty: especially the egg, ube, and tiramisu. The egg coffee was rich and creamy, the tiramisu had that sweet dessert-like quality that really hit the spot, and the ube was vibrant, had a great balance of flavor, and didn't overpower the coffee. The matcha coffee didn't really taste like matcha, but the coffee itself was still smooth. Service: 9/10 The service was solid: we got our drinks within 10 minutes, and the staff was polite and efficient. No complaints here. Ambiance: 10/10 The vibe of the café was calm and aesthetic, making it a nice place to hang out or get some work done. There's air conditioning, which definitely helped during the heat. While it's study-friendly, just note that there are really only two main tables suited for studying, so seating is a bit limited if you're going with that intention. Studying:9/10 It's a decent spot for studying if you can grab one of the main tables. We popped in on a Saturday afternoon. Ordered the Vietnamese flight. Four Vietnamese coffees with four different flavored foams: ube, matcha, tiramisu and egg foams. These are not full size because they are a flight. $20 My fave was the matcha because it was light. The ube foam was nutty. I could not tell the difference between the egg foam and the tiramisu foam. The honeydew matcha was good, but it leaned more like a boba-style drink than a traditional matcha. The honeydew flavor is pretty overpowering, and it didn't taste like ceremonial grade matcha, so the matcha itself didn't really come through.
