As I was finishing my massage and went to pay, I was told that my tip was "no good" in a very NASTY tone. Feeling uncomfortable, I decided to give more money. The person I gave the tip to then shook her head, SNATCHED the money from my hand without making eye contact, and continued looking down at her phone. I just had a massage here and it was such an awful experience. The woman who massaged me was cold and unfriendly. bad vibes. she wasn't doing a very good job- I had to actually ask her to massage my hands because I have stiff fingers. I was getting a full body massage and yet I had to ask for that? she seemed annoyed. when I asked her if she could massage my jaw (I have TMJ) she flatly said "No." it was bizarre to me. this is what I am paying for! when I paid I left a $5 tip because I felt %15 was fair based on the not so great experience. and she gave me such attitude. she said twice, "$5 tip?" My first and surely not my last visit to Healthy Foot Spa was positive. Here are my pros and cons. PROS: My masseuse was Susan and she was thorough. I got the combo package: back and foot. For the price I paid ($45), I received more care than anticipated. The place was clean and quiet. The other customers were respectful as well. For this price do not expect Day Spa level amenities. It's a bare bones massage spot for a great price. CONS: My only complaint was it was a bit too cold. Maybe they should invest in personal warmers for each room. Being cold was distracting at times :( NOW I need to address the reviews regarding the aggressive tipping. Although I agree no establishment should bully customers into upping the tip HOWEVER for these prices I think those giving $9-10 tips are a bit on the cheap side. Anna was my masseuse she was amazing , I did the special $45 for 60 min back plus 30 min foot it's such a great deal , the reviews were mainly for a attitude for not tipping properly but I totally get it people we're probably tipping 20% on $45 which is $9 I'd be pist too , this massage rivals any massage I love got at a spa for $200 so it tipped $40 ! $85 in my book for a very good massage is a bargain ! Tiny hidden gem. Wanted a massage and found this place on Google. Was attracted by all the reviews and the 90 min combo promo they run for $45. 60 min body and 30 min foot. Unfortunately I called the day before for a Sunday Appt and they didn't have any 90 min slots left. Did a one hour massage for $40. Make sure to tip more than the 20%. They are obviously doing their best and giving you a super discount for the service. Very friendly service. All female masseuses. So many people recommended Linda and she is definitely a super star! My only complaint is that the massage is not for the full hour. Usually at all the other places, they start the time when you start. Here it's from on the hour to the time you book. So if you go in and change and the masseuse comes in later, the timer already started. Other than that no complaints. This is no frills. Hopefully one day I will be able to try the combo. My only complaint in 8 years was the last time I was there and the masseuse had the sourest face and complained about the tips when I suggested smiling occasionally would be nice. I got a gift card here from my mom and realized I hadn't used it. So I took my girlfriend to get the 90 minute special here. She said the service was mediocre. That was fine. However... after my girlfriend came out (I had been waiting in the car) an angry staff member ran out towards my car and began to berate my girlfriend for not tipping. Went yesterday, a very rude lady wearing a Gucci sweater was at the desk coughing everywhere. I've been here before many times but never had the pleasure of interacting with her. Another patron refused to have her bc she was sick, so obviously I get her. I didn't say anything and carried on. At the end she went to ring me up and I asked to tip on the card. She asked how much and I told her and she SCOFFED LOUDLY at me and said FOR 90 MINUTES?! I said I'm tipping you more than 20%! She rolled her eyes, slammed my card on the table and stormed away. This is a great place for an affordable massage however my most recent time there, the woman that helped me held my debit card after swiping it until I tipped her in cash which was my intention that I verbalized. Sadly, I have been coming here for years with a nice experience. Today, after a long day, I went for a 90 minute relaxing massage. The massage did the job, and put me in a better head space...until....my 20 percent plus tip seemed to offend the nasty masseuse. I was shocked and embarrased when she scoffed and said "that's it for 90 minutes." I was like, oh, it's more than 20 percent but do you want more money?? I couldn't even believe it. I am relieved to read similar reviews, because I really left there upset, thinking, am I cheap?? That woman ruined what really was and should have been a nice experience.
