I use to goto Great Clips, Super Cuts, Perfect Look because it was cheaper than a salon but then I found Healthy Look and you get the salon feeling and salon job with just a little more than those cheaper hair cut places. Had my hair cut by JuliAnn. She was prompt and very pleasant. The cut wasn't the worst but the styling was pretty awful. First of all, after the cut she very lightly dried the front and then asked me if I wanted the rest dried. I mean come on, who goes to a hairstylist and wants to leave with damp, unstyled hair? Part of the thrill of going to a salon is getting it styled by a pro! So I said yes, but now I felt guilty b/c she obviously didn't want to do it. Then she proceeds to sort of prod and push my bangs in particular, into an ugly and unstylish fashion. I mean, they looked ridiculous. Seriously, it was like she had never styled hair before. So after I went home, I had to completely re-wet my hair and fix the hideousness of it. That's how I could figure out the cut was adequate. (Though I have low standards, lol.) But like I said initially, she was very nice, so I'll give three stars. read more

Pretty good haircut, but I did feel like my stylist was rushing - I am not a stylist, so I don't necessarily know the 'correct' language, but I felt like I needed to - fortunately, I did get a good cut for a reasonable price. Went to see Aisha For high and low lights And a dusting. she Took 5 hours to do my shoulder length hair, as she took appointments in between while doing my hair. She did not actually tone my hair, not sure what she put on my hair. she also did not get any of my 10 weeks root grow out... which was the whole purpose of getting my hair. My hair looked the exact same as when I came in.... just shorter. Because instead of a trim she cut my hair. Told her I wasn't happy with my roots still there. She said next time she would fix that. Then charges me $222. charged me for toner which she didn't use. Charged me for the exact same hair I came in with just shorter and it took 5 hours. clearly she's young and hasn't been in the business long. But anyways if you like your hair and money do not go see Aisha. What a joke. read more

I don't often write reviews, but in this case I just had to! A week ago, on a whim I visited a "salon" close to my home and received a quick trim. It turned out A-W-F-U-L. I immediately turned to a trusted friend to recommend a place. She sent me to Cricket. I chatted with Cricket and she mentioned her schedule was super tight because she had just returned from vacation. I gave her my availability, which is slim and she offered to squeeze me in while someone was processing. I said, "I'll be there!" I showed up and was pleasantly surprised to learn she was running on time to the tee. I explained what happened and showed her some pictures and she took it from there. The cut turned out amazing! I am so pleased with the overall experience that I will definitely be back for more services (ie: color, nails, etc.) Thanks Cricket for saving the day and my hair! read more

I just saw Ashlee (two e's) for a haircut and color. She did an excellent job on my haircut and I am so pleased with how the color turned out. I have never colored my hair so it was a first. She let me take my time pick out the color, and she did exactly what I asked with my haircut. My previous stylist never got the cut quite right. Ashlee listened to what I wanted and delivered! My search has ended...Julie Allen moved from SW Portland to Oregon City and I have not had a decent haircut since. My hair is super curly and difficult to cut but Julie knows just how to cut and style my hair to make me look GREAT! It is so worth driving a half hour to see her. Love everyone that works at this salon! They are all so friendly. I have gotten my nails done here for about two years now. I switch between nail techs Jill and Kari depending on their availability but both do a great job. I love the fact that I know their stations are always clean. They use a new nail file on every client. They don't use electric tools to file down your nails which is practically unheard of. I also have a very arched nail bed and they are able to lay the product on my nails without using a fake tip which helps my nails from lifting and getting junk between my nail and product! I have been looking for a local salon to go to on a regular basis and found Healthy Look, it had good reviews so I thought I would give it a try. I was very unimpressed. I was made to feel like I was a burden and that I should have made an appointment earlier in the day ( my appointment was at 5 ), and this was after my stylist called me and asked my to come in at 6, which I did no problem. My first impression of this salon was very bad and I wouldn't recommend it. They lost a potential long time customer. read more

I purchased a "deal" for Healthy Look Salon on Living Social. The ad indicated I was receiving a Keratin Hair Treatment that would last up to 6 months. I am familiar with these treatments as several of my friends have received them. When I went to the appointment, I was told that the treatment would last for up to 3 months. I contacted the manufacturer of the product that was used and he indicated that the product would only last 2-3 months. As such, the ad indicating the treatment would last up to 6 months was false. So I was supposed to get a "deal" by paying $110 for a $220 value. Now that I have to have the procedure repeated in 3 months, I have not received a deal at all. Buyers beware!!! read more
