I will get into their website and delivery service in a minute, because none of that matters if you don't truly enjoy the food. I am trying to lose some weight slowly with portion control and exercise, but I am a foodie, so sticking to anything that isn't enjoyable always becomes an issue. So many times I've ordered from a home food delivery service to lose weight, and then it spoiled in my fridge while I went out to eat. Problem solved. The food is fresh and restaurant quality- I almost can't believe I am getting a meal this yummy for the price. Right now I'm eating a chicken kebab with a side of roasted potatoes. Even ordering the lean portion, I'm stuffed. The Penne with Bolognese was better than my local Italian restaurant. I could go on and on. I had tried another Long Island based competitor, and felt like I was eating the same thing in five different versions. After two weeks I was done. Not so with FreshnFit. They have standard meals you can order every week, and then a weekly menu to choose from. I don't know who is cooking in the kitchen, but they better keep it up so I can be in shape for summer. I happened upon them by accident, and can't be more thrilled. Their website is pretty easy to navigate once you've spent a few minutes on it. They give every possible customizable option. Whenever I've texted or called they are timely in their response. My deliveries are always as expected. Just be sure to have a plan to bring the food in as quickly as possible when the weather gets warmer. It is packed to keep cool, but it's fresh food, so it can't sit out in the heat for hours. I would love to know the faces and names behind this company, because they're doing a great job.

Service: 1/5 - A serious issue on my last visit: I asked the guy working there if they had any categorization for Gout friendly dishes in which he replied, "Are you a heavy drinker?" (WTF!) I'm wondering if he learned that technique in the customer service manual? While we were in the store for the first time trying to figure out what to get, the person working there was having a meeting on the phone behind the counter. As a result we received no orientation. That doesn't help us to decide to start ordering meals for the whole week. Downgrading service. These issues put me in the "Likely to not return" category. Cleanliness: 5/5 - The place is new so this is expected. Ambiance: 3/5 - Lots of refrigerators where you can see all the meals. They all have clear packaging on the front so you can actually see the food. Nice layout. About 40% of the refrigerators were not in use at this point. There is no eating in this place. It's just pick up. They did have a microwave so if you wanted to grab a meal, heat it up and take it to go you could. Value: 2/5 - The meals are about $10 each. And the portion size is a bit skimpy. I think it's cheaper if you by the weekly packs of 10 or 20. I was mildly unsatisfied with the portion size and found myself looking for a snack shortly after dinner. The tray size is good, but it should be filled more. Parking: 4/5 - Small lot in front of the store should be okay for most of the time. It's not a busy shopping area. There's also a free lot a block away as well as street parking. Overall: 2/5 - On the last visit offensive service made me drop my review by two stars. I've experienced consistent service problems. The food is good and some options feel healthy but not all. It would be ideal if they put a little more food in the package. Because of the latest incident in the store, I'm not likely to repeat business here. This is a shame because my wife and I were looking for a place to order meals on a weekly basis for easy dinners after work.

I recently visited the Jericho Turnpike Huntington store and picked up a meal that was clearly…read morelabeled as $7.77. However, at checkout, I was told the price was $9.89. When I brought this to the assistant's attention, she called her supervisor and explained that the label had not been updated to reflect the new price. While I understand pricing errors can happen, good customer service would have been to honor the clearly marked price and correct future labels--not insist I pay more than what was advertised. Instead, I was told I had to pay the higher price. It left me questioning the store's pricing practices. This isn't the first disappointing experience. On another occasion, the same assistant refused to let me return a meal I had just purchased--despite the fact that I hadn't even left the store and only wanted to exchange it because my daughter changed her mind. Additionally, I've noticed that the portion sizes of the meals have been shrinking noticeably over the past year. Overall, I'm becoming increasingly dissatisfied with the service and value at this location.
