I was surprised to see any negative reviews, all the bad reviews I read were 6 to 7 years old and all the positive reviews are recent so they must have made some major improvements. We've been taking our Rottweiler mix to Lexi for 11 months and couldn't be happier with the staff and the care given him. He gets really excited when we get close to the facility because he has so much fun playing with his buddies there! I've been taking my 50 pound doodle here since she was a puppy, she's now seven years old. The staff has always been extremely loving and welcoming to her, treating her like a family member and she loves going there. Nowadays, I take her in once a week and board her there once or twice a year. I've never had any issues with their service or with my dog's safety. I've now got a new little puppy who's being brought in and everything is going well so far. Definitely recommend them for those in the LO area. read more

I just happened to check Lexidog's Yelp reviews and I am BAFFLED by the negative ones! I don't get it! Decided to write my own to set the record straight. I've been a customer here since 2014, and my dog Percy will not go anywhere else. The staff? Exceptional. Suzanne, the owner? Lovely! Everyone here treats us and my very rowdy, cranky dog like family. We were treated so poorly by another facility during COVID when Lexi had altered hours that didn't work with my schedule, I literally wept when Lexi opened their doors earlier just for me when I told them about it. First of all, BEWARE of all the FAKE REVIEWS customers are posting for this pathetic excuse for a dog care facility. Secondly, DO NOT take your dogs here if you care about the well-being of your pet. We took our dogs in to be groomed, and one of them came back with some sort of burn on his groinal area. As expected, the groomer did not take responsibility for the injury to OUR dog that SHE caused, and made up a number of pathetic excuses to try and explain what was obviously a burn that wasn't there prior to taking him in. FURTHERMORE, the quality of the grooming was awful. I am not overstating this. Both of our dogs looked like they had been groomed by someone who was drunk. There are multiple areas of unevenness all over their bodies. One dog they completely missed a mat on. I could have easily done a better job if I had just groomed them myself. Worst grooming experience ever. Needless to say we had our money refunded, but unfortunately we had an ensuing $250 vet bill to treat the dog who was burned. I have no training whatsoever in pet grooming and give any random dog a better haircut than this idiot groomer. Gtf out of grooming, lady! They have NO STANDARDS FOR QUALITY OF SERVICE as they let this fiasco happen and waited for us to contact them to discuss. Don't waste your time or money! My 9 month old golden doodle absolutely loves Lexi Dog. They have great customer service and reasonably prices. Don't be fooled into thinking this a luxury doggy daycare. I pay less here than a hole in the wall place closer to me. This place is immaculately clean. The staff rotate time playing with their doggy guests and we get a cute little report card with behavior, potty & eating updates. For instance, I had a report card that said my dog likes to dance - and she does love to dance. They also screen dogs for aggressive/threatening behavior so you know your dog is safe. I say this because: My sister used to take her shitzu here weekly, if not more, but moved to Florida. After her 2nd visit to a doggy daycare, her 12 pound shitzu was malled to death by another dog! The attendant was also hospitalized trying to break the dogs apart. I feel for those with negative comments about the screening at Lexi Dog, but my puppy and 4 pound Yorkie appreciates the process. read more

Staff is rude and dismissive. I recently moved and was only able to locate half of my dog's vaccination records. But since he was due for his shots in January 2023, I figured I would just get them all done before the next appt. When I asked to reschedule for a future appt, the woman refused and told me there was no point to reschedule since I won't be able to get into a vet for weeks or even before the first of the year. I called my vet when I left and my dog was vaccinated by the following week. Don't bother taking your dog here. Today I called Lexi Dog-Lake Oswego to inquire about doggy day care. My phone chat was one of the best experiences I've had in a long time. The gal was so friendly, so informative and knowledgable. We discussed the initial meeting, a trial playdate and requirements that my dog must meet prior to joining. IE: up to date shots, etc. It's so nice talking to somebody that really knows the business and genuinely seemed to want to answer all my questions. LexiDog was recommended by a friend. I talked with a staff member and decided to take my labradoodle in for an evaluation. I filled out an their application and took it in along with her medical records. They took her into the play area and reported that she was fine with the other dogs. I agreed to bring her in for an initial two hour visit . About a week later i called and said i would like to bring her in for two hours the next day. The staff member said they had no record of our application or of our ever being there for her evaluation. She didn't sound very interested in finding the paperwork and i ended up telling her that if they ever found it to give me a call. She said ok. They never called of course. I began to think if they are that incompetent it would not be a place i could trust with my dog and i didn't contact them again. read more

WARNING TO ALL DOODLE OWNERS!! Do NOT take your dog to Lexidog Boutique Groomers. They advertise they de-mat and cut and they do not. I had a dog with very long hair, there were some mats, and instead of calling and telling me there was nothing they could do and shaving to the bone was the only option they did it without asking. My dogs entire body, legs, tail, ears, head, completely shaved to the point you can see his skin. I got him home and he has razor burn the shave is so close to his skin and there's one thing I know--mats or not he was brushed daily so this was completely unnecessary and absolutely lazy. They have you pay before they show you the dog so as I'm assuming a summer cut like we discussed at drop off when I said "please don't shave to the bone he's doesn't do well with a really short coat" instead they take your money then she walked my dog out and said "sorry I had no choice I know it looks bad, but you know mats" ‍ All I know is I've gone to groomers with mats and never did they shave him bald. Absolutely beware. Doodles WILL be shaved--sadly they told me AFTER they finished that they shave them all the time so don't panic about it looking awful. You couldn't pay me enough money to take my dog here. Terrible customer service. I took my 13 week old lab for "evaluation" the evaluation was very quick and I decided to leave my puppy there for a couple of hours. I called to check in and spoke to the guy who did the evaluation to check on him. He said that my dog was nervous and anxious and that he would not engage with other dogs. Then he basically said you have to have all your records so i can read them even though they spoke to my vets office and they confirmed that all was good and he was on course with shots. The manner of how they treated me was not welcoming. Odd thing was that the report card said that my puppy was having a blast etc etc. They are disorganized and not friendly. this place is awful and the owner needs to pay more attention to how it's managed and to pick more courteous and communicative employees. From what I have heard, when Lexi Dog laid off their workers because of Covid virus they failed to report the status of workers to the state, or refused to confirm laid off workers to the state causing laid off workers being denied unemployment. As a result the people who worked there have not received a penny of unemployment relief yet two months after being laid off. The owner/management should be ashamed of themselves. read more

I am new in town and looking for a new groomer for my dog. I walked past this place the other day when they were closed and they advertised dog grooming and a Tuesday nail clipping special for $5. As luck would have it, I had Tuesday off work and my dog needs her nails clipped so I took her in for the Tuesday special. The place is clean and the girl working was very friendly, however, she said the girl that does the nails wasn't in today and that I could come back tomorrow. If you are going to advertiser a special then you should offer it to. Otherwise you are luring in customers under false pretenses. It looked like the place specializes in doggie day care, and i'm sure they do that well, however, i think they should take the sign down out front with the specials because they aren't prepared to accommodate them. read more

I've been wanting to review Lexidog in Lake Oswego for a while as it's been my go-to daycare for my very active, young dog named Sammy. Ironically, I saw some poor reviews this very same day I'm making time to give feedback. I'm still going to share my personal experiences. We've been clients for over one year at Lexidog's Lake Oswego location. It's the only daycare we utilize. I've never met the owner. I deal with Manager Stephanie and her team of handlers/caretakers. I'm very sorry to see the recent negative comments & experiences. To pretend I'm not concerned would be irresponsible. I do agree updated vaccinations and policies are super important in operating pet businesses, but I've not had the same experience as what I'm reading. I've had quite a different experience and am super appreciative of the Lexidog team. Stephanie is very tuned in to the active behavior of our dog and has been a huge positive influence. I feel the same about her team. I trust Stephanie with our dog's nail trims as well. Her experience and astute handling of many different breeds is evident. I also love knowing team members Ali, Sami and Molly are on duty as caretakers because they are all great to deal with. I have walked in randomly to pick-up my dog and see the team cleaning the facility. My dog attended daycare in another state and would have dog saliva on his neck and an unpleasant odor from all the dogs he spent the day with. At times he was ridiculously thirsty from lack of available water when I picked him up. I've NEVER had these experiences with Lexidog in Lake Oswego. There's a huge level of trust when turning a dog over to any one other than its owner. The girls I've grown to know at Lexidog are people I would trust to care for my dog in my own home. These businesses are often a labor of noisy-barky-jumpy dog love, not just profit. I operated a daycare and training center in the Midwest for many years, thankfully never with one incident or grievance. Much of that was attributed to creating a safe, clean environment and hiring people as compassionate as I was about providing exceptional care. I have had a very positive experience at Lexidog in Lake Oswego and will continue to trust the current team with Sammy's day care, bath and nails. I hope any other issues raised regarding vaccinations and further safety measures with be rectified asap if true. Every business needs to be conscientious about continued best practices, especially when tools like Yelp call out issues to the world whether true or false. One thing to remember is much of the management and staff at Lexidog bring their personal dogs to the facility. I did the same when I ran my dog daycare business. My 5 dogs at that time actually kept our guest dogs in check with good, healthy, social behavior. Danger Danger - My first review was removed so I am posting again. We took our precious Australian Labradoodle here and he received a broken leg - 12 pins and a plate. A large dog jumped on him and caused the injury - Lexi Dog would not help pay for $5,000.00 in surgery/vet bills and OFFERED to give me the owner name and number of the dog that injured my dog because they were responsible. Why take your dog to daycare if he/she has anxiety that bad? Maybe try to correct the problem by doing your own research before putting your pooch in a situation that triggers such behavior, or inform whatever staff is there when you drop off so you have a game plan. Is it possible to post -5 stars? My message to the owner... Dear Suzanne, Doesn't over nine years of being a loyal customer count for something? The new manager at the Lake Oswego location essentially threw my dog out today. It was my fault that my dog has some newly developed separation anxiety issues (today was the second time I've been scolded and yelled at because of my dog by this new manager; I've never been spoken to negatively about my dog). There was no offer to help work with my dog or offer any advice, but instead I was told that she was thrown in a crate and had a Thundershirt put on her. Seriously, I would have welcomed any advise or suggestions. It was also my fault that I didn't get a call (they dialed the wrong number for my cell phone - which is strange since I've gotten calls from Lexi Dog in the past without any issue, but my number is now wrong in the computer for some reason and I was told that it was my fault) or a message left at my office because I was away from my desk. What about trying to call again or send an email? I have never been spoken to or treated like this. I was spoken to like I was being scolded like an incompetent child. When I tried to respond I was interrupted, corrected constantly, belittled, and spoken down to. It felt like I was being attacked and put on the defensive. I was made to feel as I have failed as a pet parent. I am so angry, appalled, disgusted, hurt, and embarrassed. This manager should be fired. At least I got dog out of there before this manager or any of her staff did something like hit her instead of just getting thrown in a crate. My dog and I have had amazing relationships with previous managers and the Lexi Dog staff over the past nine plus years. The new manager used an excuse that the new location is now bigger and busier and that previous managers were more lackadaisical (incompetent) about things. I was very excited about the Lake Oswego location growing, but at the sacrifice of customer service and a caring compassionate staff seems like priorities are out of order. I got my refund for what was left in my daycare package (I have always purchased a multiple visit package) and I am looking forward to writing some terrible reviews on social media about my experience and how I was treated today. Just think, my girlfriend and I were just talking about getting a puppy and right away I thought about how great Lexi Dog would be to work with and a new puppy. If you do get rid of this new manager, I will happily bring my dog back and work with your staff to ensure that she, the other dogs, and the staff have a positive experience (I admit that my dog is going through something, but I know it can be corrected). If I recall, the offer of working with customers and their dogs was something that I sold on when I started coming to Lexi Dog when my dog was just a puppy over nine years ago. Seriously, isn't over nine years as a loyal customer worth anything? I would have welcomed any opportunity to learn more about what I could do to help Daisy. A little extra help and polite customer service really could have gone a long way. Instead I was just yelled at and humiliated. I've had some good memories of my dog at Lexi hearing about her adventures there with the other pups and reading her little report cards. I am just so disappointed and angry about how I was treated. Yikes. Read all the bad reviews but got a reference from an acquaintance saying the opposite! We took our pup here for grooming, first they told us our dog would be done by a certain time(we are working professionals so we have schedules)they pushed back the time several times and my mother in law ended up having to go get him because it was 3 hours passed the pick up time we were told. Second the attitude from the groomer was so not ok, she blamed our dog for her slow work, our dog is a therapy dog and well behaved and has never had issues while being groomed before! She was so rude to my husband, he had asked to have my dogs "feathers" trimmed(feathers are the long fur that golden retrievers have) and the woman gave him crap about not knowing what their specific grooming package was called...sorry lady it was our first and LAST time there. They also told us they couldn't trim them as it's not good for the breed. Come to find out once we went to a groomer who specializes in golden retrievers for over 14 years this was a lie and that it's essential for these dogs especially during summer, you just don't want to shave them. The money was not well spent, should have never gone. Worst customer service ever and after our dog was acting scared like he had been either yelled at or possibly hit! We do not recommend them and will never come back ever. We have come to the social club once and it wasn't a bad experience but their grooming service turned us off from the entire company. That groomer should be let go or given a lesson in how to interact with people because she was really unpleasant. She ruined this place for us and we will advise others in our golden group of this. read more

I take my little Harrison to Lake Oswego, where he receives VIP treatment along with every other dog there. I buy a 10-punch card for a discount, and it's super reasonable. If a meeting goes late and I can't pick him up on time, I just call, and they feed him, give him loves and put him squarely to bed. He knows the drill and scratches on the window when I drive into the parking lot because he can't wait to go in! They have a bountiful boutique with every product under the sun, even CBD canine products and pheromones, grooming salon, and a self-wash station. Grooming there has been great so we thought we'd try social club. Not again for social club. Our dog has digestive issues and they were given extensive instructions to avoid certain treats. We tested it out the day before as it was recommended to get pup acclimated. That went fine. Day of daycare arrived and pup was returned to me dazed and acting really weird. They said they needed to talk to me and told me that they recommended only half days. I asked what happened? Was my dog aggressive bored what? They said that nothing went wrong just that was their recommendation. More details please? No. My pup who is not a talker whined and paced all night and the next morning had massive diarrhea. Lexidog in LO was the first place I took our dog for grooming, and I was very happy with it until groomer Chelsea left. After that, grooming became very inconsistent, and the groomer seemed to have no idea what the traditional cut for her breed looked like. I found someplace else, but can't always get in there, so Lexidog has been my backup. But no more. The last grooming, they barely cut her hair at all, and did not even touch her tail. We are just 3 weeks from that last cut and he looks like it has been 2 months. Complete waste of money. read more

I have had nothing but problems with Lexi Dog appointments. I showed up one time with my appointment card, and their new system did not have my appointment. So, I was out of luck. I was offered some money off the next shampoo and cut. Tow days ago, I arrived for my appointment and the manager said I had called to cancel because my dog had a heart problem. It could be such a goldmine for some to do dog care well in LO! Sadly, this place misses the mark. I have a high energy dog and thought that dropping him for an hour or 2 to play would be a good way of getting him physical and mental exercise on the occasion when i cant. I always got good reports about his behavior, no issues with his socialization...but would find him locked up in a little pen when i would pick him up and told it was his "nap" time. I expressed I didnt want him to nap there- he will nap at home and when I just drop him for an hour or two there is no need for them to impose a nap. I got lots of little memos saying how fun and playful he was- but would find him locked in the pen breathing hard from anxiety not play with about 5 other dogs also pacing and stressed. Things just didnt add up..Finally, when I pressed after dropping him for just an hour and even requesting he not be penned to only find him penned and stressed someone was honest with me which I SO appreciate...they explained the main area is for calm dogs and the high energy ones that will create a "chaotic" active vibe are all put together so they can "play" in the little pen. 6 dogs in a 6 x 8ish area...and they arent playing- they are stressed, pacing and looking out into the main area. I appreciated the clarity and finally some honesty. Buyer beware- just choose this place knowing if your dog is a good fit for their policies and capabilities. Mine is not. To have him go for an hour and come out smelling bad, exposed to illness but not have been able to play isnt a good value proposition for me. I am SO thankful for finally the straight talk instead of the little feel-good notes that contradicted what I was experiencing and insulted my intelligence. This place is what it is- perhaps useful for a very specific purpose, but not able to handle much more than that. Central Bark is MUCH better- they have a camera and you can watch your dog while you are not there, they have a dog walking option where they go to Tryon, and the dogs do not smell once you collect them...it is not a fake vibe of little notes and begging for tips, its people who obviously are skilled dog handlers constantly on the floor managing the pack. They assess your dog for fit and if your dog is accepted they are cared for authentically..they give thoughtful feedback that feels accurate, they are transparent allowing the camera and windows. read more

This is thee best dog daycare and pet boutique in Portland. I have been a customer for over 10 years and my dog absolutely loves it here. The place is clean, well run and the staff truely loves dogs! I also like the fact that unlike any other dog daycare, they partner with the Oregon Humane Society and adopt out hundreds of homeless dogs AND CATS every year.
